Hello There Clammers!
So last night we got a little Halloween preview in Quahog! Each day a bucket of candy will appear in Quahog…collect the candy each day (which should appear random in color) to unlock Pink Brian!
Full rundown on this can be found here, but this post is more just a reminder. A reminder that at 12pm PDT the candy will reset and a second piece will be available to collect. So make sure you log into your game BEFORE 12pm PDT if you haven’t already collected your candy from last night to do it then, and log into your game AFTER 12pm PDT to collect piece number 2!
Also, a few helpful hints….
First, candy will only appear on the sidewalks. So if you’re having trouble finding it try (BEFORE 12pm PDT) removing some of your roads to make it easier to find it.
Second, I believe you may need Brian to have this trigger for you. We’re still waiting on official confirmation from TinyCo on it, but it seems to be the case. Most of you saying it hasn’t started for you also say you don’t have Brian unlocked yet. So we’re thinking the two are related. However, if you don’t have Brian and still see the event going in your town please let us know. 🙂 UPDATE BUNNY: You must have Brian unlocked in order to start the Jack-o-Lantern quests. Brian is in District 6. You will not be able to unlock Pink Brian and/or collect candy unless you are past this point.
If you are past that, then look to see where your Jack O Lantern is. Just go to the task bar and tap on Pink Brian quest and open the info. The details will pop up right over the top of where it is. Tall buildings can hide it. I was able to move it to better spot.
Third, clicking GO under the candy in the event menu (inside the pumpkin or by clicking on the Brian icon with the timer in the task bar) will NOT take you to the candy. I thought it might, as did many of you, but I just tried it in my B game (I didn’t collect the candy there last night) and it didn’t work. So, removing the roads might be your best option if you’re having trouble finding the candy.
Finally, the candy is triggered each day by collecting rent from a building. So, if it’s after 12pm PDT and you’re not seeing candy, try collecting $ from a building. Once you do this it should signal the candy to drop.
Also, remember…
1 Candy per day will appear in your Quahog and there will be ONLY 1 candy in your Quahog at a time (and only 1 per day). That Candy Resets at every day at Noon PDT. So if you trigger the candy at 8am PDT today and don’t have it BEFORE 12 noon PDT…no mater the time left… it resets at Noon PDT. So the closer you start to just before Noon, the less time you have to find it.
If a Candy Bucket is available, it will appear randomly in your Quahog after you collect rent from any building. So keep a close eye out for it. It can be one of the 3. Also, it is easy to accidentally tap it… so watch for just a candy too. Both are very small in size.
If you do NOT collect the 1 Candy within 12 hours of it dropping in your game, it disappears forever. (Or until Noon reset. Whichever comes first.) So make sure you find it and snag it up right away. That means if you collect from your buildings at … let’s say 2pm PDT and the candy bucket is triggered…you will ONLY have til 2am PDT tomorrow to find it. 12 hours.

Check Brian himself. See if you can put the costume on him from his menu. If not, check inventory for it.

I have the Pink Brian icon in my task bar but when I click on it nothing happens. I have had no dialog boxes pop up. The Pink Brian icon also has a counter which is now at 3 days.

Pink Brian was not won. On the task menu, it shows the Pink Brian icon quest with the time counting down. When the icon is clicked, the window leading to “Get Pink Brian!” shows up. After pressing “Go” nothing shows up. Not even details about how to get him. I have contacted Tiny Co. twice but no response.

Were you collecting Candy? Do you have a Pumpkin still in your town? If you do, you can tap on that instead.

Pumpkins never showed up in town. I moved buildings around and extensively looked but nothing. The only thing that was glittering was the outhouse of loneliness and the golden pool. I thought I saw something shining at one point but it was only Brian drinking when he writes his novel.

Best thing to do is Contact TinyCo and let them know what’s going on.

I finally got my last candy needed, unlocked Pink Brian, then my game crashed. When I went back in, Pink Brian was locked and all my candy had been reset to 0. Anything I can do? There aren’t enough days left to just wait for more candy 😦

I am pissed! All I needed was one more purple candy and I was totally excited to get pink Brian tonight (European time). I just picked up, what I figured would be me my final piece and it is a purple one! I already have three of those. Now it says 4/3! It was supposed to be easy, if you logged in you would get a piece of candy. They didn’t say it was going to be a game of chance. Now I have to hope to pick up the last piece of the appropriate color. Anyone else who is having the same problem?

It’s happening to everyone… It really shouldn’t be a surprise…they’ve been falling in order… Purple, Red (or Orange) and blue. Yesterday was Blue…so makes sense today is purple. Tomorrow should be red. 🙂

lol I think it’s just how it’s setup. It’s done this way in case anyone missed a day…and everyone’ on the same page. No one’s getting different drops than anyone else. I remember when it first started people were worried about getting all Blue or all red…so it’s alternating. Fair for everyone…just takes patience 🙂

Collected the candy of the day, purple I believe. Like with item collection, there is a check mark beside the purple candy with 3/3 collected. Hopefully this will work like other collectibles and only drop needed candies, not dropping ones we already have all of. Can either of our addicts, or addictesses, verify this? Thank you ladies!

I can confirm that it DOES drop candy you already have all of. I now have 4/3 purple ones. I hope I get my final candy tomorrow… I expected to get it today.

When I’m struggling to find cany I zoom all the way in and go from one end of town to the other like it I may not see the candy but I see the sparkles it gives off and touch that and get my candy that way having never actually seen the candy just the sparkles x hope it helps xx

How important is Pink Brian? Is he worth destroying my town to search for candy I don’t find?

I don’t know how he’s going to play into the Halloween event, if at all. So I can’t really say how important he is. All i can say is just take up your roads (they can easily be put back down) and put some roadways in one small section and see if your candy pops there. (and remember you have to collect from buildings AFTER 12pm PDT in order for it to appear in your town. If you just go in and look you won’t see the candy. Also, if you clear the buildings before 12pm PDT the candy still won’t show when it’s time. You have to go in a collect from buildings after that magic candy hour and then look for the candy in your town)

Once found, you can move the bucket around town just like any other Deco. I used the tip of opening up the quest from the task bar to find it, and it was hidden behind my Q hotel. Just collected all my buildings rent, moved the bucket and still am not able to get candy from it. Just opens up the quest. I’ll just wait a few hours collect more rent and try, try again.

Tommygunz76 his tip works fantastic. I did it and I couldn’t see the candy at all looked for the Sparks found it that way even when I pressed the Sparks I didn’t see the candy but I collected it. It’s the way to go people x ty x tommygunz76 x

Seriously, the reply, “Try all the tips we suggest” doesn’t help. In the Simpson’s game they’re better about this type of thing. I don’t have to get rid of roads or sidewalks to find the prize.

I dunno what to tell you, honestly. We suggest the tips to help you find it. According to TinyCo there are no known bugs with it, so if you’re not seeing it it’s because you can’t find it. Short of going into your game and finding it myself all I can do is suggest ways to find it. A new piece should hit in just a couple of minutes. Collect from your buildings then check your town if you’re still not seeing it then take some zoomed out screenshots of your town and send them to me (familyguyaddicts@gmail.com) and i’ll try to help you find it. Short of that…there’s nothing else I can do.

Did you take these AFTER 12 today? ie within the last 20 minutes? Also, did you collect from a building first?

Did you look at them? We definitely say do NOT rip up your town. Just like in TSTO your characters follow sidewalks so I they’re hidden behind buildings and decorations, not only does it make it near impossible to find them, but you miss seeing the outside animations too.
We only suggest if YOU want to find it easier…take away the hidden ones. If you don’t, then be prepared to look on ALL sidewalks (hidden or not) to make it easier.
FYI we get this EXACT same thing on TSTO when people can’t find Zombie Cat, Falcon, guinea pig, on n on. Small things can’t be seen through buildings.
So it is your choice if you want our help or not. It’s up to you whether to put it to use. 🙂

I’ve been looking for the candies for days and still haven’t found a single one. Getting very frustrated and I’ve been moving buildings around and still nothing. I need help badly!!!

Just deleted all my streets except for one section, still couldn’t find the candy. Somethings night right, got 1 early on Saturday and Sunday morning, apparently did not receive one today. I will keep checking but have to agree this is frustrating.

Did you collect on all your buildings to trigger it? Did you try the tips we listed? You can’t see it in move mode so it may still be hidden behind something if you took sidewalk away AFTER it dropped.

Finally found the pumpkin after looking here, but it won’t open. Just gives the promo blurb. I guess Brian will not be pink because I am over this poorly designed and executed event

this event sucks big time , the candy buckets are impossible to find whats the catch could it be tiny co don’t want us to find em and that 1 day before event ends they will want us to buy clams ..in my eyes this events sucks *****

I found a simple trick to find the candy. Zoom in almost all the way in then scroll around the town and u will see little stars twinkling in the air. That is the candy. U can even see it when its behind a building. Its almost like the stars that are twinkling above the jackolatern.

Everyone if you are not getting candy check your updates. I got the pumpkin automatically but got no candy for the first two days. I clicked to check my updates and found a family guy one. I updated but had to wait for the update at 3 to get candy for today.

Did you tap on the pumpkin and trigger the dialog? Have you collected rent on your buildings?

Yes…I found the pumpkin behind a building and that’s it. People got 3 I got 0. I check my town move **** around and nothing. This game is starting to piss me off. Those ***** attinyco keep jerking me around on my Facebook account mess up. I know y’all are friendly and stuff but *** them. You can delete this if you want. I’m sure you will anyway.
