The time has come and the wait is over…Halloween is here!!!!!
More details as we go through them….but for now know that Peter kicks things off…and you’ll most likely get the popup saying reload for an awesome new event..
UPDATE BUNNY 730PM EST: For iOS and Android having crash issues, try again. iOS make sure you are on iOS 6 and completely updated. Android, make sure you download the newest update from the market and running on version 1.3.2.2 for the app. These should help with the iOS blue screen and the Android neighbor visits crashing.
UPDATE BUNNY 215PM EST: Jailhouse Meg items should stop dropping now. A patch has been pushed from TinyCo. Please try force close/restart to clear this.
As for the issue of the Spellbook/Portal sticking and not able to clear the task, they are working on it.
We’re working on a spell to fix the crashing bug with the Spelbook. So far, yelling out “insectum reparo!” has not worked.
ANNNNNNNND They just pushed a patch for this. Try to force close and restart to put it in effect if you don’t see it.
Update 11:55am EDT: Guys we’re working to get the info as fast as possible, but with everyone hitting the servers at once we’re getting the same connection dropped screens you are. So we as that you be patient and give us just a bit of time to try and pull as much info as we can… 🙂
Also, there seems to be a little “hiccup” when Drunk Programmer Kevin flipped the switch (I guess it wasn’t sobered up enough)…and Android users will see different color tress but nothing else. It’s coming, just be patient it should hit shortly.

Ok so first…I’m sure you’re all asking…What the heck is going on?
Peter, in typical Peter fashion, has decided to tick off the dead. In doing so Peter accidentally opens a dark portal in the Quahog cemetery and unleashes all manner of ghosts and goblins on the city…your job is to help round up these ghost, goblins and ghouls!
As always..the game will guide you through the process. So if you’re feeling confused just read the dialogue and see what the game is telling you to do. You can also ask us. We’re always happy to help 🙂

We’ll have full posts explaining the ins and outs of each aspect of this event, but for now…here’s a quick rundown.

Halloween District:
Much like Full Moon & Comic Con the Halloween event has it’s own district…pretty much in the same spot. Here’s a look at the district when yo first start up your game..
Inside this district is where you’ll find the Portal and the witch’s cauldron (more on those later). The Haunted House is also located here.. for repair. (more below).
Here’s how the district looks after you’ve started and built up a few things..
This event has two types of currencies….

Spirit Vials are used to purchase event exclusive items
Fright points help you increase your fright level, and unlock more content.
You can earn each by doing various tasks

Ghostbuster Peter
You’ll need Ghostbuster Peter to clear the Terror Dogs…It takes 2 hrs to clear 1 Terror Dog. You’ll earned 10 Spirit Vials and 2 Fright Points every time you do. And a chance for Terror Dog Bones.

Much like Comic-Con we’ll be given challenges to complete in an allotted amount of time to unlock cool prizes.

The Ghostbuster Sign
Here’s how you complete the first challenge. After you craft Ghostbuster Peter the following challenge will popup:
You have 3 days to clear 12 Terror Dogs in Quahog. Again you need Ghostbuster Peter to do this. And each dog takes 2 hrs to clear….
SIDE NOTE: This challenge will trigger around completion of “Who You Gonna Call” Part 1.
Diane Simmons
Peter and Quagmire decide it’d be fun to dig up Diane Simmons! Here’s how you get her…
The quest to unlock her is called… Hell Hath No Fury Pt. 1
First you have to dig up/repair her Gravestone. This costs 250 Spirit Vials and takes 8hrs. Once you find her you only have FIVE DAYS to unlock her or she’ll disappear forever…
To unlock her you have to craft using your Cauldron. Here’s what you’ll need:
-Brew Chomps the Zombie in the Witch’s Cauldron
-Brew the Electricity Ball in the Witch’s Cauldron
(We suggest to wait to on digging her up and starting the countdown until Peter’s costume is built.)

I am level 2 for fright points. Just curious – why no new decorations to buy even tho I can see the peuking pumpkin and zombie statue (in info centre) when there used to be the coffin etc in there? Are we only ever able to buy jacked up lantern, coffin, poisonous plants and scary tomb….regardless of fright level?

I should have read this before opening Diane’s grave. Great. …..I’m screwed. Seems like somebody would’ve locked it until Ghostbuster Peter was unlocked ya know? That way we wouldn’t screw ourselves. Hmmm another cash grab attempt maybe? Who knows.

I am getting a crash when I click to create a vial of cologne on the cologne factory. The check mark is there, but when I click it, the game crashes straight to homescreen. Moto Razr Maxx. Crashes every time.

Just logged in to carry on with the event and….my quahog is reset to the start and I’m lvl1 again 😦 tried to reconnect with facebook but it says that my account isn’t linked to a save even though I connected them this morning when everything was fine. Anyone else have this issue or just me? Lol

I got Ghostbuster Peter earlier today and one thing the I did was have Pink Brian’s “Watch The Pink Panther” 2 hour task run along side Peter zapping dogs. The reason why I did this is that Pink Brian’s quicker tasks drop more vials over time than the longer ones. I can do that task 5 times (10 hours) and make the same amount to points as Brian’s 24 hour task.

My candy for pink Brian has not dropped for today. I Need just one more red and I’ll be done . I just don’t under why it hasn’t dropped any of the colors today and I onl have 19 hours left for pink Brian . Any help as to why none of the candies have dropped today

Because you (like I am) are simply unlucky. I had duplicates up the wazoo for the other two colors, but only had one red drop the entire time.
I really hope there are no more events like ‘Pink Brian’ ever again, which rely entirely on luck. Because it will frustrate players who always get the short end of the stick. Or make it so that once every piece of a certain color was collected, that color would stop dropping. There was another event with the first Rupert mystery boxes (before they realized they shouldn’t give out multiple of the same prize) in which I kept getting the same boat over and over again….again it was 100% luck based. The Pink Brian event was the same type of frustration.

Please help!! I still don’t have pink Brian. I earned him. I have contacted Tinyco but haven’t heard back. Apparently, I am missing out on Halloween stuff without having him. I don’t know what to do. I have reinstalled three times with no success.

You’re not missing out on much…Pink Brian can earn vials but he’s not critical to the update. So don’t panic too much. Contacting TinyCo is the right course of action, hopefully they’ll get back to you soon! 🙂

Slimer drops terror bones. Not every time but have had 2 drop from him so far.

Is the timer the same for ghosts and dogs? I can only find a timer for ghosts, but not for dogs. In the faq here it says to click on the portal, but that’s where it lists only ghosts and no info for the dogs. I do have Ghostbuster Peter.

The timers vary and alternate which squatter will appear. When you tap the portal it’ll tell you how long until the next one hits.

They DO tell you on the grave to have Ghostbuster Peter first…and it’s also noted in the game FAQ. I know it’s frustrating to have built it and found it out, but they do have some notes in about it. I completely agree that the build option shouldn’t be there for her tho…

I understand being mad at a company, but why is it a rip off? Tinyco is not forcing anyone to use clams to buy Diane and yes, they did put a message saying people need GB Peter, so I dont understand why its a rip off.
Paying 1000 clams or something like that for Diane or for a character needed to continue a quest, that would be a rip off.

When I went to sleep last night I had peter zapping a dog and 4 others walking about. I wake up today and start him on another then realise there r no other dogs walking about so I figured they despawned. There was another dog set to spawn from the crypt but when the timer ended no dog appeared. Anyone else get this issue cos I am worried my progress is gonna stall due to this.

Very odd. If you tried basic troubleshooting and it didn’t help, tinyco really is the only next step as I have not really seen any other reports. They need to go into your game and figure out what is going on. So please contact them through it.

Totally need to vent! The clock on my sidebar says i have 1 day three hours left before pink brian ends. By the time I realized this was incorrect, which was about 30 minutes before 12 pm pdt, I could no longer buy the last candy. The clock is still countimg down on my sidebar…I says I have I day 3 hours left to get pink brian!

I set repairing dianes grave before finding out about the 5 days timer, fortunatly found out before ticking the box to complete, and timer has not started, just have to make sure I dont press the tick it, before getting Peters costume, although knowing me will be hard wandering fingers ;-), like the fact some of the other stuff to get Mayor West and Tom can still be collected, just got Tom, thanks Tiny enjoying the game

In your opinion, is it worth it to spend the money on the pet cemetery to get the terror dog bones? I’m worried about having enough to unlock Diane. I unlocked her too early. I still have about 4 1/2 days, but I don’t know if I should buy the pet cemetery now to give myself that extra boost or not. I have Peter unlocked and just started him zapping a dog, but it’s not guaranteed that every dog will drop bones. What do you think?

Never mind. 😊 I was thinking about it and IF, hypothetically, Peter can bust a dog every two hours, then that would technically mean 12 possibilities a day to get terror dog bones. I still have 4 1/2 days to get Diane. I figure in that time I should be at least able to hopefully get enough bones to brew one of the concoctions. If that’s the case, then I would only have to spend 200 clams for the other concoction, if I don’t get enough bones to brew both. And the 200 clams for that one concoction is less than the 250 for the pet cemetery, so I think I’m just going to wait. 😊

That’s usually your best bet. I always advise against spending clams this early…TinyCo has been known to drop some sought after clam items late in updates 🙂

If you get them before they’ll count towards her when you unlock her. So yes, then you can instantly unlock her.

Digging the event. Just unlocked Ghost Busting Peter. Had I not come to this site first I would only have like three days to get Diane. Still it seems like a lot to get her but if there were no challenge it wouldn’t be fun. I decided I wanted the pet cemetery so that will help. Saving my clams otherwise because I know there will be a ton of cool stuff added later on. If you don’t already, make sure you check this site at least once a day for tips, it will save you a lot of headaches. Now if I can get this Ramones song out of my head I’ll be fine. I don’t wanna be buried, in a pet cemetery, I don’t want to live my life again.

I feel like I’m running a company and everyone in Quahog is gainfully employed….All working to the common good of unlocking and conquering. This feels different from Comic Con. I’ve got so many things going on in my game. Unlocking Peter is priority, followed by cologne making , then unlocking Tom and Mayor West, oh and there’s Kool aid man tasks left…Anyone else without tasks to contribute to the above are all on 12-16 hr tasks.

If you look at the stuff able to brew in the future is Fransis pulpit which leads me to believe he is in the second grave and that you will need that to unlock him. Though that is a guess.

Got the peter skin, repeaired the graveyard and then saw the stuff needed to unlock Dianne Simmons. Getting the ‘Spirit Vials’ won’t much of a a problem but getting a total of 30(!!) thingies (20 to craft the ‘chomps the zombie’ in the cauldron and 10 for the ‘electric ball’). Looking at the drop rate of being ‘rare’ it feels pretty impossible 😦
And it costs a total of 400 clams to just unlock her immediately (too expensive for me :p )
I can only recommend everyone to have patience and collect the materials for the cauldron items before building the graveyard (as 4 days are most likely not enough for having the luck to get 30 rare items)

The game dropped on Kindle about 12 hours ago, just before I went to bed, in case nobody mentioned it to you yet. They probably did.
Are there any situations like with Blam, where it relies on how many Spirit Vials you have but doesn’t spend them? Or are they always “used up”? I have enough to get the Scarecrow which it says will get me some fright points, but I think I should probably be saving them all up for the 500 needed for Ghostbuster Peter. What’s your advice? Also, should I bother having Pink Brian on his SV-earning 1h task (is it worth it?) or do you think I’ll be okay to keep sending him plutonium scooting?

We are still working out all the ins n outs. So far they look to be the currency and spent when acquiring items. If you have outside tasks that you dont really need for this event right now, set them aside. Vials will play a role in this game, so the more the better. 😉

lol, the key phrase is “that you don’t really need for this event”… I just have a bad feeling that if I set him aside until after the event, something is gonna come up for Halloween where I need Stewie already unlocked. Especially since they did that thing a couple of weeks ago that seemed to assume people would already have him by now. In ComicCon I set them aside, then scrambled to unlock Brian for his Patrick Stewart quest.
I am currently focussing on Peter’s outfit items, then spirit vials… Mort is still gathering jewels for Stewie, and I’ll switch Brian back to Plutonium for the 8 hours when I go to sleep (or whenever I’m otherwise busy for that long). Hopefully I won’t screw anything up, but there’s plenty of time left to hopefully fix any errors in judgement 🙂

I guess a lot of it comes down to how often you play. If you are collecting constantly, like I do lol, then I would focus on Stewie. Sure, pink Brian gives you 5 vials an hour but that’s negligable if you’re constantly clearing ghosts when they spawn. I’m almost done with ghostbuster Peter but I’ll still need 28 terror bones to brew the items needed for Diane. At this point I have enough vials to make ghostbuster Peter and the two items for Diane without any premium buildings that earn vials. While there is no way to know what TinyCo will release that costs vials, I would work on Stewie but that’s just me :).

To be honest I would try to get Stewie unlocked right now cause it looks like Stewie will get a costume and I don’t know if players without Stewie can get it. Though that is just my opinion

Is chomps the zombie an NPC (non playable character) i.e. he just walks around on the roads, or is he a decoration rooted to one spot? And how many of each type of creation can you brew up? It’s understandable to have ten scarecrows but what about later on with meaty the clown or the skeleton??

I don’t know if this is a new change, but if I tap on Diane Simmons’ broken grave, it gives a tip suggesting to get ghostbuster Peter first before repairing. Plus on Hell Hath No Fury Pt 1, it states that you’ll have 5 days to get her.
Hopefully this will stop any more players from repairing the grave too early.

Anyone else think a deco of Nigel pinchley at the gallows would be neat to have. Maybe even a side quest with Eliza pinchley seeking revenge. Just thinking out loud tho.

I was out tonight (and not on my phone) and didn’t even notice all of the crashes and glitches, but I just wanted to say that you guys are awesome. You work hard. Thank you for everything that you do.

My game is having Glitches Galore, earlier this afternoon the game was working fine,even a prune 8pm, but when I went to play after midnight, the game crashed while I was moving building around, when I came back some of the stuff I did had to be done again, ghosts and some building moved back to where they were just moved from before crashing, (I know you mentioned the crashing problem).
I reloaded and the game seem fine till I went to visit friends towns to see the Halloween stuff they had, but the game now required me to sign in With Facebook, and not it does it every time I load,the,game to play.
Then I noticed the Fright Point progress bar on the main screen was now blank, but in the sub menu it still shows points collecting.
So I reinstalled the game but now when I load up instead of the game just starting, I get a bar on the bottom of the screen pup up saying “Settings” and “Play”.
Also when I log in using facebook with the game, it opens the facebook app which it never did before, it did that, must have been caused by one if those in game updates you mentioned.
Is anyone else having any of these problems?
I sent this message and pictures of the problems to TinyCo but I doubt they will fix anything over the weekend and won’t hear from them till Monday if I’m lucky.
(Also wish i knew about waiting to repair the Dianne Simmons grave, now I have 4 days left and Peter not done yet)

They option to log in on splash screen has been slowly trickling in. Getting more reports of the Facebook stuff going on. Keep reporting please. We’re looking into it.

Here is another glitch for you, I went to visit my Cousons town which I do several times a day, (the only other town I can visit) but today the game crashes eact time I enter her town, dos the fact she is on an Android device and I’m on iOS have anything to do with it?

Did she update android to 1.3.2.2 version?

Ad far as I know she is up to date, unless the update came out today, because up till 5am this morning, was the last time I entered her town, but 8 hours later I can’t get in.

Wish I would have known to not dig up Diane until after unlocking Peter’s ghostbuster costume. I dug her up before getting the quest to do it, and the game gives me a hint to wait AFTER I already dug the grave. Ridiculous!

Agree glandros, too little to late. No way I can get 30 bones inside of a couple days assuming I get the last 8 psychic cards to unlock gb Peter..not happy.

Same here. The warning notification on her grave only came up for me after I unlocked her. It was on congratulations you’ve unlocked Dianne screen with the gold & flashing lights. I am extremely disappointed in this. And as for the quest where it tells you that we have only 5 days to unlock her…that only showed up after she was unlocked.
Other than this being disappointing so early on, I’m looking forward to the next 33 days of halloween 🙂
Ps. Thank you for all that you do for us players. It’s been a great help to both myself and my partner, who have still yet to tap on the tick for the pound (we want the extra building for getting Vinny in 3 days). Now that halloween is here, Vinny is going to have to wait. I hope he’s not crucial during this time.
