This issue seems to occur when a quest comes up for a character who is currently stashed in the inventory. Keeping main characters out on your play space will prevent the issue. Event and premium characters shouldn’t be a problem to stash, unless you are in the middle of their quests.
Hang in there. Help is coming. The version will most likely be tagged 1.4.5 when they are able to get it completed and pushed to all players. Send in a screenshot if possible of your load screen with your message to help speed up the process.

Here are the basics of the American Dad Event…
HOW DO I START THE AMERICAN DAD EVENT?
Pretty simple here. You just need to reach District 3 game play. Peter will trigger it and start off with “A Shellebration“.
You will need to build the Clam Festival Stage for A Shellebration Part 1, it will only take 1 minute.
HOW DO I UNLOCK STAN SMITH?
He will unlock during “Clam Day Catastrophe” Part 1. (Shortly after “A Shellebration Part 2 Completes, Keep Peter and Bruce free for Part 2.) He comes in the Colonial Barn. Once built, you will need the following items to unlock him.
20 Black Sunglasses (Common): Bonnie Chug a Bottle of Wine, Mort Retreat Cowardly, Quagmire Mix Drinks
10 Photo Evidence (Uncommon): Jerome Grow His Fro, Colonial Barn, Rupert Chat on the Phone
8 Classified Documents (Rare): Bruce Fret About Something, Chris Enjoy Private Time, Smith House
5 Crash Debris (Rare): Lois Shoplift, Peter Dance the Shipoopi, Mort Scrounge for Coins, Jake Tucker Be Normal
For those wanting to know, a direct Clam buyout on him was 420 Clams in my game.
If you unlock him before the event ends, Stan is yours to keep forever. If you do not have him completely unlocked, he will disappear when the event ends.
ROGER’S CHALLENGE IS TIMED!!!!
HOW DO I CLEAR ROGER?
You first need to have Stan unlocked. Once he is unlocked you will be able to perform the “Hide Roger” 1hr task. Just keep an eye out for Roger in your town, once he shows up send Stan on the task. If he has not respawned yet, the task for Stan will be locked until he returns. (FYI, you can also just check Stan’s tasks. When his Roger task unlocks…Roger is in town again.)
WHAT IS ROGER’S SPAWN RATE?
You only get one Roger at a time (of course) and it will take him 4 hours to respawn.
HOW DO I WIN THE GIANT GOLDEN TURD CHALLENGE?
After Part 4 of “Clam Day Catastrophe“, a Challenge for Roger will appear. Stan will trigger it. “The Magic Drunken Clam: Challenge“. This one will be a timed Challenge, so make sure you are ready for it before you jump in. You will have 4 days in which Stan will need to clear Roger 10 times. Once you have successfully done this, the Giant Golden Turd will be placed in your inventory.
It is basically watching closely for Roger to Respawn and sending Stan on the task. A 4 hour Spawn Time wait for Roger, 1 hour task with them both, so allot yourself about 50+ hours to complete this. (So 4 days should be plenty time.)
NEW BUILDINGS (Some will not show up until you complete Shellebration Part 2)
Clam Festival Stage: 5×6, $500, $30 & 20 XP every 4hrs
Colonial Barn (w/Stan Smith): 7×8, $1500, $30 & 20 XP every 4hrs
Historical Clam Exhibition Hall: 5×8, $1000, $40 & 25XP every 6hrs
Smith House: 8×12, 100 Clams, $40 & 25XP every 6hrs, Classified Documents (ALWAYS)
NEW DECORATIONS (Some will not show up until you complete Shellebration Part 2)
Crop Circle: 9×9, $400
Area 51 (Sign): 1×2, $2000
Undercover American Flag: 2×2, 10 Clams

Roger created the turd and when it was found become like the Ring in LOTR where people would kill each other to possess it. It returned during the X-Mas episode where in the future after the Rapture Stan helps Jesus defeat Nemo, the Anti-Christ (Nemo is Omen spelled backwards and it took me forever to get that gag. Also Nemo was Hayley and Jeff’s adopted son.) That’s where Roger was using the turd to fuel his ship.
With American Dad in the game I hope Nemo is a character for X-Mas if TinyCo doesn’t use its version of Santa Claus, who wants revenge on the Smith family for killing him on accident and burying the body in the woods.

Still trying to figure it out. It is HUGE as far as plot size. I like it has the pool in the back. (Image in this post of it I took from my game). I just wanted another actual home. LOTS of buildings and shops…not many houses available. Price was a bit more than I would have liked to pay for it, but it is average of the buildings cost we see each release for locations that drop items.

I know this quest might be late. Has anyone “found the stolen plUtonium” for the blimp? I haven’t found the plutonium yet after I found downtown district. Did all the quests for downtown and the quests for the blimp. It still sits in my game as uncompleted.

Love tinyco for paying attention to us loyal players, and ya’all for keeping us informed almost spooky fast. it was cool that they kept the Frankenstein mystery box for those who couldn’t get everything. It would be awesome for those of us who did get everything if they could let us use those spirit vials for the start of the American dad event. I have 20,000 spirit vials that I won’t be able to use.

*ehhhhhhh, i wish they kinda would have waited to put out another event!!..i wanted to wait like a week or so because i’m still working on unlocking Stewie and Carter!! ugh im so overwhelmed now because to unlock Stan Smith i need alot of the characters to do tasks in which they’re the same ones to get the stuff for Stewie!! 😦

Finally some answers to this Load Error. I now know to keep my main characters roaming around and not store them. I stored Peter last night, and woke up to the Load Error message this morning. Emailed TinyCo this morning, still waiting for the patch/fix. But now I know as to why we have received this error message. This is the only site/page that I’ve seen an answer on, so thanks.

Glad to see American Dad family in Quahog (I mentioned it in a poll for this site a couple of months ago). I hope Klaus and Stelio Kantos will be added in the game during the month long event even if only as premium characters. 🙂

There would need to be a whole bunch of characters added way before Stelio. What about Jeff, Snot, Barry, Toshi, Principal Lewis, Greg & Terry, etc.? Unfortunately this is not an American Dad game so I can’t imagine that the whole cast will make an appearance. But yes, leaving out Klaus is unforgivable. He’s the “Meg” of American Dad, lol.

I really hope TinyCo doesn’t screw this up and once this event is over make all these great characters useless. I mean American Dad is such a funny show in of itself and has so many memorable episodes that it probably should have its own game. I just hope that they don’t end up being characters that I send on indoor one day tasks all the time. Also, I’m expecting some quality costumes to come with these characters now or down the road (Ricky Spanish, Greater Chimdale County Man, etc.)

Make sure Peter and Bruce are free and make sure your task bar is not cluttered with a lot of unfinished tasks.

My son is having the same issue. He said he has 14 open task items. He is trying to clean his out to see if that resolves the issue. Interesting that it did not affect tasks during Halloween. I will report back if this works.

As it is constantly changing…it is REALLY hard to keep an updated version. Sorry. The cool thing is the characters task will actually tell you “requires…” so you know what building you need out for them. 😉

Sorry the answer to this isn’t clear to me – does shellebration part 2 need to be completed before Stan will show? I’ve got Bruce out kitten picked for it and no other tasks have shown (and my task bar is empty except this). So far I see no stan! Cheers guys your site rocks as does thus game

I tried connecting tinyco because of the error i get when i open the game: “called getplayarea before play area exists” but they keep asking me my playerID. I sent them everytime the number that appears on the right side of the loading screen and they keep resending me emails asking this number without helping me to solve the error. I am unable to enter the game for over 4 hours when i usually open the game once an hour.
Please help me resolve the problem!! I am so upset over this!

That’s probably because that’s not your player id. The player id can be found on the account screen (where you log in). This post should help
