Hey there Clammers. Hoppin in here to give you a quick run down of just what to keep an eye out for when it comes to the new Earn Free Clams with Carl.
UPDATE 11/10: If you are having issues where the Video kicks you out of the game whenever you tap on it, please let us know. They are researching that issue further. For all OTHER issues…read on below. 😉
Keep an eye out in your game for this silly character, Carl from the Family Guy Video Store, in your game. He can help you to earn some Free Clams. WOOHOO!! (There is a bug with Android Devices for this feature, hang in there while they correct it. Once fixed, you will get the option to watch Videos too. Until then you won’t see Carl.)
If you catch him round your town with a Clam over his head, just give him a tap and you will see the pop up screen for the ability to earn Free Clams by just watching some silly Videos. Figures a Video Store Employee would be the one to do this. Lol.
Just tap on the “Watch Now” option to trigger this cool new feature. (The amount of Clams you will earn by doing this will vary.) You will then be taken to another screen where the Video will appear for you to view (the ones I saw were pretty short). Once the Video is all done, you will see one of two kinds of pop ups again…
Welcome Back, task complete…
If you see this pop up, it means that is it for this go round and you are all done. Just tap on “Awesome” to collect the Clam payout listed for the video you watched.
OR YOU WILL SEE
Welcome Back, watch another video…
From time to time you may get the option to watch more than one video. If that is the case you will see the “WATCH MORE” option come up after you watch your first video. To keep going, just tap on it.
Once completed, Carl will just disappear from town. The Clam icon will show up and collect to your total. There is not set day or time he shows up, so just keep your eye out for him. He will hang around close by the Griffin’s House when he does decide to appear.
FYI …If it says “No More Videos” when you tap him…that is exactly what it means. There are no more videos for you to watch as you’ve watched them all already. Check back again in a day or so to see if more available to you.

It gives you that extra help for duration of game. So anything needing building or clearing out. You’ll see the house change too for the workers.

Why did I get clams taken away. I had 278 clams on 11-7-2014. And now I have 241. I bought or earned my clams. *****

As I responded to you on your last comment, you need to contact TinyCo from your game. Menu, help, contact. They can check your purchases to see what happened to the Clams. If a task was sped up accidentally. An item purchased. Ect.
We are the Addicts and have nothing to do with the game outside of writing about it. We don’t have access to players games. You need to talk to them. Not us. 🙂

Does anyone else have a constant, irremovable, exclamation point on facespace? I believe that it is left over from, Freddy, or Francis; neither of which are on facespace anymore.

Why do they keep releasing updates that have so many bugs? don’t they test there own game? And why do it over the weekend when they have no one to fix it?

😁i have gotten 6 free clams, so i am by no means complaining, BUT the video is just the same commercial for american dad on tbs. are there other videos? i’m just curious…. as long as i get my clams when it is done, i will watch the same thing no problem😆

Hi there, I am curious to know if Carl is visable in a sea of buildings? My entire town is grid locked with standard offices with only a small grassy area for characters and new buildings!

When he first appeared I did 2 videos in a row and got 2 clams each time.
He didn’t re-appear until 24 hours later and only let me watch one video, which also netted me 2 clams.
haven’t seen carl since but if he shows up again same time this afternoon, I think we can call it once a day.

Check your version. Some of them will take a few days for all the features to hit. Another reader reported they got the newer version. If you have American Dad…you should have the newest one. 😉

It will take a lil to update to all 3. I’m still missing Nuke option on one and Carl is being patched for others. Just keep at the event. You’ll have them update when they come through the markets

Instead of tiny Co worrying about players cheating why don’t they worry about the game constantly kicking players out and making more land? Fix the issues first then worry about the hacks etc…. Simpsons has way more land and the buildings are way bigger and don’t have all the problems family guy does. They need to hire different developers cause the ones they have now have no clue. Smh

Thanks for the feedback. A lil FYI (As we also write about the other game) TSTO launched in early 2012. Family Guy JUST launched April this year. So to compare the two land wise isn’t really a great comparison. TSTO has 2 yrs worth of released land.
As far as new land…please see our post on that.

last night at about 10:30-11pm. I logged in to my family guy game and Carl popped up asking if I wanted to watch the clip I did and when it was finished he asked if I wanted to watch another clip. I went to watch the second clip and my game froze. No biggie. But before I closed the game down I had 278 clams that I either bought or earned. When I logged back in I only had 241 clams. I would like my clams back. I did not cheat to get them I earned them or bought them. Not cool at all. I like playing this game but if you are going to cheat me of my clams then this game is not worth it. Thank you and have a good evening

I think my game has a glitch? I still have my leftover vials from the halloween event and the option to buy the Rupert box when I click on them. Also, a large patch of new land is cleared(no trees) but I can’t build anything on it.

This reminds me of the Archie: Riverdale Rescue app. You can watch videos there to earn free sodas to use on premium items. If you like TSTO and/or Famiky Guy, that app is pretty fun too.

Don’t suppose u guys have heard anything about the load problems some of us r still having? I did email them with the link u posted yesterday (or early this am lol) and they emailed me back asking for my player ID- that I can’t get to because my game won’t load lol. I know I’m not alone on this but that doesn’t make it suck any less- missing a whole 24 hours of this event already!

Thank u, I didn’t see ur post….that’s exactly what I had done, stored everyone as their tasks ended. So I did email them last night but they want my player ID that I can’t get to cause the game doesn’t load so I emailed again- is there another way to get the info they’re asking for? (Again, thank u so much- ID b pulling my hair out if it wasn’t for u!)

I have been told that there is SOMETHING on your loading screen that can help them track your game. So try to get a pick of that part and send it in to them. 😉

Carl is not like a real character. He is just a random occurrence. He will not be around all day everyday. Just here n there occasionally. He does not impact regular game play in anyway. Hang in there. You will get your chance. Besides, it is not like he is spitting out hundreds of clams. It is just one or two here n there.

I’m having the same problem. Notified tinyco and they said I need to give the game more time to sync. No matter how long I wait, any new clams I accumulate disappear when I log out. I’m guessing its not a sync issue but more to do with them screwing things up when they dropped us all down to 250 clams. I notified tinyco again and haven’t heard back yet.

That is very odd. Others that were reset have not reported this issue. Yours is the first.
Have you tried some other troubleshooting? (Only if you have a game linked to Facebook or email) Clear Cache/data, uninstall app, restart device, reinstall, Launch app, and log back in to the saved game.
Outside of that, they are the only ones that can look into it further.

I also received the warning and I have not been able to accumlate any Clams since then. I have 250. I received 2 Clams while watching the American Dad video clip. It registers as 252 Clams and then when I log out and return, I only have 250 Clams. I had the same thing happen whenile visitisin my other Quhog. I received an additional Calm which does show up in my game until I restart it.

Sorry to seem like I’m on the wrong post here but during the halloween update I gained aload of clams like 3000+ and received a warning and the clams went down to 250. But I have gone to buy Steve smith and I have gone to like 5000 + clams I don’t want to get booted off the game. I have messaged TinyCo am I the only person this has happend too?

My suggestion is keep playing as normal. Spend only what you KNOW is yours. And keep an eye out for a response.

I’ve got about six clams since he’s appeared. I like this concept, it reminds me of Star Trek Trexels where you get resources/free premium currency for watching their videos on your own terms. Feels less intrusive and it’s nice to get more free clams, so I say yay to TinyCo for being awesome!

I’m not able to watch a single video, I’m on iOS n hv written to Tiny co.
The feedback I got was to delete my game and install it again also watch the tutorial, which I did .. The result is nil clams … I still can’t watch videos all I get is the loading screen n then goes back into the game n character vanishes

This is great! I love this character, from the show. I hope we have a chance to keep him as a playable character, in our town. Especially, if he’s voiced by H. Jon Benjamin, aka: Archer, Bob Belcher (from Bob’s Burgers) and Ben Katz (son on Dr. Katz). That would be epic!!!

If you take a look at this very post, many players (specifically Android) will NOT see him yet. Also…make sure your device is on the latest 1.4 update from the app market. It will take a lil time for him to show. He is NOT a daily thing. 🙂

Are you on an Android device? If so, you won’t see him (as listed in this post). Are you updated from your app market to the 1.4 version?
Carl is NOT a character in the game. Just something random. He will not be there all the time. Just randomly show up.

For me, on iOS, it’s “Fee Clams!” I tap “watch now” it takes me to a black loading screen, the tv jiggling and back to “Free Clams!” if I tap “watch now” again, it’s the same. Ive tried it 10-12 times (several logins) and always end up with no clams and Carl taunting me. Now I usually hit “No Thanks” just to be rid of him.

I’m on IOS (version 8.0.2) also but I am able to watch the videos and get clams, first try 2 videos, second time 1. I hope it doesn’t start to mess up 😒, and they get yours fixed soon.
