Note: There is a glitch with the timer that’s making it look like the event ends an hr sooner than it does. The end time for the event is 3pm PST (or 6pm EST or 2300 GMT). That’s been the end time and has not/will not change. If your timer is off and telling you it’s going to end an hr sooner…don’t panic! The event WILL NOT end until 3pm PST.
Hey there Heartbreakers!
The end of the Romancing the Clam is near. That means a quick reminder to grab those items available while you can. Let’s take a peek at all the cool things this Event had to offer. 
First off, to see the end date and time for the event… just tap on the lil Heart Meter in the lower right corner of your game. It will pop up the Main Menu tabs for the Event. The first tab will have Handsome Peter with the information on the end underneath him. (2/26 3PM PST)
Now for a recap of all the items… Many of the Event items you may already have in your town as the game prompted you to get them as you progressed in the questlines. Just make sure if you missed one or want more of ones you can get multiples of (like decorations) that you pick them up before they’re gone.

Worst event ever. And where is the Rupert box for my unused valentine’s? How am I supposed to unlock Meg if I ran out of time? I still had valentine’s but Meg was never in the box to win. That’s bs. This whole event was garbage.

That seems kinda a downer. More for our What The Deuce post and not one full of helpful info.
There never was an AFTER Box nor mention of one, so not sure why you anticipated one.
As far as Meg, if you followed the steps we offered up here as help… as well as the info in the FAQ in the game… you would know that NOTHING went into the box until you lost it. In other words, you would have had to WIN the VooDoo shop in the Hate Heart side to have Lost Hot Meg and have her drop into the Mystery Box to purchase with Valentine’s. If you did not get to the 5th Prizes tier, there was not a way to get any 5th tier prize.

I am BEYOND mad. I never saw a timer. I had 5000 Valentine’s and was less than 100 hearts short of Hot Meg and that was AFTER dropping clams to speed tasks. I am so fed up I may never play this humongous waste of cash again! And even worse! I can still “purchase” Arnold or Benedict. They’re still there, but not hot Meg or the prize box. Not like with Halloween or the Pyramid and you spend later. Nope. None of that. Just a huge waste. I am so mad!!! I spent so much time and what a waste. I got cupid but not Hot Meg!
And where was this timer everyone keeps talking about? I never saw one? I was always checking my hearts count to see how close I was.

Where was it? I just remember Handsome Peter and everything else being pink and magenta with some yellow and then I would switch to the tab about prizes. Also, why would this event not leave the prize box open? They did it for Halloween and Christmas. I admit I may have not noticed a timer but it seems REALLY awful to leave purchasable items like Arnold and Benedict but no way to get things like the Valentine’s surprise box and at least a chance to get Hot Meg.
Sorry, I just reviewed how many clams I’ve purchased and after popping up all these things I did not want (Arnold, Benedict, a goat), there was no pop-up that I saw for the timer (it must have been on the screen I thought just had the same info each time so I skipped it).
Anyway, you guys run a great blog. Thank you for letting me vent. I have not played since the game reloaded and I am not sure if I will. I am seriously upset. I did not want Cupid, I wanted Hot Meg. I never play games except Family Guy and even if it is irrational, I feel cheated. I have not missed single main character costume ever and now I don’t have Hot Meg. I bought all the Premium characters and … anyway, thanks again for a good blog.

First paragraph of this post under Romancing the Clam image shows it and explains where it was found. The event menu pop up changed all throughout the event with info on Affection Meter Prizes and “Featured” items for the Event. The main home tab always showed the countdown. All you had to do was tap on your heart Meter in the game.
As far as Mystery Boxes. No event continued them. Instead there were at times an alternate AFTER event Mystery Box. But this was limited to your leftover event currency and had items NOT offered during event. They were brand new boxes and items. Like below…leftovers from Christmas got new years items…
Otherwise the events all have offered something ONLY during the event around the last week of it that was items bought with Event Currency. When event ended, it all went with it.
Sorry you didn’t get what you wanted. We warned all event the end date and time. TinyCo had it all over their Facebook and Twitter too.
Hopefully they’ll bring her back around for those that didn’t get her. 🙂

Wow. I honestly never noticed that. It has been a busy month but I truly never noticed that event date on that screen. I was literally a few hours from getting the character and just didn’t know. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Still haven’t played again and not sure what I’m going to do. Every time I look at it, I just feel like I wasted a bunch of time getting stuff I did not want or care about only to miss getting what I really wanted by a few hours because I didn’t know when it ended.

We are here to help always. Don’t let it get you down. It is a game. It is supposed to be fun. Make you happy. Bring you a smile. It is OK to take a break now and then. From anything in life. Even a silly lil game. Do what makes YOU happy. What brings YOU joy. This game will be challenging many times. It is not a game for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you are bad or wrong for not liking it. Just means it doesn’t suit your tastes maybe. Just like everyone doesn’t like the same food or music.
Just step back, the event is over. Take a break from it if needed. A new District in route which means you can take all the time you want on it as Districts are here to stay. Just remember no matter what you decide, you will ALWAYS be welcome here and we are more than happy to help out all we can with any questions or concerns on the game. We play it to. Go through the ups n downs like everyone else. We just have different seats to view it in. Lol. 😉

You guys really are awesome. I contacted support. At first, I fumed. Then I calmly explained why I think I missed the timer, etc. They were very nice, as always, and hinted there might be another chance to get Hot Meg.
You’re absolutely right, I needed a break. I get way to into things like this. This is why I purposefully do not watch sports and limit my Minecraft time with my kids. It’s hard to believe you delivered such sage advice on a portable game blog. Talk about a labor of love! Thank you.
While I am still very disappointed and hope they get a little better with pop-ups about end-of-events (and give me another chance to get Hot Meg!), I am going to start playing again. It’s probably time to nuke my town, anyway. 🙂
I’ll have to post in the other entry my request to nuke just parts of a town. I spent a lot of time setting my own little Nerdville and wouldn’t mind nuking everything but that …

Didn’t gain too much from this one. Won up to Lois’s love meter prize. Got two objects from the dating, and unlocked Quagmire’s dad and handsome Peter. I didn’t spend my remaining 2000 points and I didn’t unlock the female Quagmire because I fell asleep last night waiting for the game to load.
So, it’s getting to the point where I’m almost done with this game. Tons of buildings, tons of characters, constant crashing and lag on my phone. What used to take a few minutes now takes about 15 minutes every time I check up on the town.
I played it for about a year. Probably won’t drop it yet, but like with this event, I’ll probably be checking up on it every other day now at most instead of a few times a day.

I play freemium, was really busy so not on a lot, got everything free, but had only 400 valentines after emptying the box, didn’t get (or want) any decorations that cost valentines.
Sad that I was 4-24 hours away from finishing several related quests – started late due to long time unlocking the first bench, but felt this event was perfect mix of time spent and rewards.
Still not sure I want to continue playing because of space and design of items (they keep releasing items that don’t relate in size) and wish I could design more.
I almost feel like I would prefer something like a sticker book or the Facebook page that shows what you’ve won instead of trying to design in such difficult situations.
I have so much cool stuff in inventory. And a Half designed town. It’s fun but I’m not sure I can keep doing it unless the town design aspect improves.
Sad because I like the look of the game and the buildings but the weird sizes and needing design to make game play easier are just too much.
(Started during comic con – almost done with brewery). Have spent zero real dollars but via free clams have all the super heros, all the ghostbusters, Cleveland, John McClain, Freddy, human Rupert and all the characters unlocked via benches. Think I only have missed a couple of freemium skins (under garment peter and Jillian new year)
So, I may be an interesting case study for them to try and understand why I didn’t convert to premium, and/or why I’m unsatisfied. (Because I’ve pretty much won everything available – for free).
Maybe just post event let down.

I’ve never hated an event before, but this one was awful! So much time wasted trying to tell the PDA couples apart early on that it seriously hampered my successful completion of tasks. I usually finish most items without stress, but this one made me cross and unhappy. I play this game to relax, not to get wound up and upset.

I agree with savorycook, TinyCo changed the PDA’s stuff at least 3 times,
They increased the time to pick them from 2 to 3 mins…
Floated red and Purple Hearts above their heads…
Then changed the colour of the guys shirt and trousers to make it easy to pick them out from afar…
What more do you want, a freephone helpline to ring and ask “where are they?” 🙂

i’m really happy i got all the things and characters i wanted in this event. the big mouth girlfriend dolls and heart hot tub were left to rot in the mystery box, where they belong imo haha. i was surprised i got hot meg. thought i would be using clams to speed up dates but i didn’t have to 😄
i am really not sure what to do with the brewery.. i don’t like the fact that you have to craft so many multiples to make it become just a building. i didn’t like any of the things in there and i have them all quarantined to one little square in town. i don’t have the need, desire or patience to craft all the multiples. is it ok if i just leave it as is?? i have one of everything at least.😕

Your characters will still show Materials for them until they are all completed, but it is up to you whether you want to make more or not.

Haha, here on the central coast of Cali, it’s 3 o’clock, and my timer says the event ends in -1 hour. No complaints from me, I thoroughly enjoyed this event, and admittedly I went premium (couldn’t resist the characters, and some buildings) but I feel like even if I played it totally freemium I would have earned all the prizes. I completed all quest lines yesterday, and have just been diligently tapping for HMVs and love hearts just in case TinyCo had some kind of last minute surprise in store. But thanks to the incredibly helpful info provided by you ladies, I went ahead and bought an unreasonable amount of topiaries, rose petals, and started building 2 more gazebos (on top of the 4 I already had!). Thank you so much Bunny and Alissa! I honestly think of this site as a crucial extension of the game itself. –MuMpY–

Question if any of you can answer…is there a way to check on what characters are “working” on? I sent cupid to do something and the event ended and now i can’t find him…i’m sure he’s just in a building somewhere, but i didn’t know if there was an easier way than clicking on everything to see where everyone is

Select Cupid in FaceSpace, then once you exit FaceSpace the area where he is located will be in the centre of your screen.
You can obviously do this for any other character….

The best way is to go to the character’s (in this case Cupid) personal Face Space page. From there, click the X on the top right to close it. Then dont touch the screen bc the camera will begin to move on its own. It will then center on the character or on the building they are in! Hope this helps 🙂

There actually IS a mechanism to find a character… Go into FaceSpace and tap the character you want to find. When their FaceSpace page opens, just click the “x” in the top right corner. When the window closes, the game will center on the character, or the building they are occupying.

If you click on a character’s Facespace, when you close it you will be taken to that character.

Try this-Go to the Face Space page for the character you want to find. Tap the X in the upper right hand corner. The map moves to the approximate location of that character. If they are are in a building, it is the building in the center of the screen.

Checked in and collected Love Couples, had 31 mins until ‘event ends’ with over 73,000 HMV and collecting for the ‘?’ prize on the Hot Meg page. Came back a few mins before the ‘end’ and was greeted with a pop-up telling me to reload my game. Did I snooze and lose something? I have a screenshot but don’t know how to post here since I am a newbie to this webpage. But GREAT things and info are found here! Love it and Thanks much!

I literally just finished the last cupid questline with 8 minutes to spare and got the clam.
Off topic question… I crafted the last brewery item the other day and I thought that the brewery would then become a cash generating, but it hasn’t. Is it just essentially a huge decoration now, or is it likely to have future uses? With the lack of land, I might just archive it if it’s the former, but it seems like it should be such an important building in Quahog.

Same thing for me, collected every item (and all the multiples possible) and it no longer is interactive – merely a deco. A rather large deco to boot, and it won’t let me put it in inventory – just says “this is too important to put away”. I wouldn’t mind so much if it had converted into a coin-generating building, but it takes up too much space for a deco.
Any word from the TC overlords on this?

Felt no love, crashing spoiled the event. Unable to complete event and I wasn’t playing freemium. I’ve spent about $30 this event and still couldn’t finish with crashing so often. Wondering why I waste time on limited time events. They just aren’t fun anymore because of the stability of the game. I hope they read these comments, as someone who’s spent hundreds on this game. You would think making the game stable would be a priority. Instead we will get a new event with more bugs and crashes.

My friend got the game and is currently unlocking mort and he said he is rich with 2,000 coins
I then told him how much I had (100,000) he then stared at me like I was a god. lol
I introduced him to this site but he said I can just tell him at shcool
I told him the event would be gone before we get back from shcool
since we live in England it turned out it wasn’t till 11 o clock till the event is over and he was franticly buying everything he could afford
He did very well for this event considering he’s a bit of a noob he got all the way to peters pize and I was impressed
He loves the game and with some convincing we could have another addict with us

I will be just 22 hate hearts short of the final prize. I went hate trying to get the building, so I missed out on hot Meg. Bummer to be so close. I sped a job to be able to get Cupid. I figured it was worth the 6 clams. If the event was to go a little long, I probably could get the 22 broken hearts.

If your game is saved to an email or Facebook account… try to uninstall and reinstall the app. That usually clears it. If not, report it to them please.

Sad to say I won’t be getting Hot Meg either.. plus didn’t know about being able to get her thru the mystery box (if u chose the hate path) until I was almost 200 into the love side.. Not enough time left. Oh well, I did get Arnold & Benedict (why I don’t know lol). Maybe they’ll bring her back later?? Or give is the option to buy her direct!!

I had no problems getting everything. Still would not rate this event very high was much more happy with comic con and Halloween. Just feel like the quests were alittle to long.
Also i had no problem with the harts for meg just kept cris and connie drinking coffee and brian and Jillian at the movies.

ummm GMT is EST + 5 (until 3/8, then it’s EDT + 4). And 3pm PST, is 6pm EST…so 6pm EST plus 5 is 11pm which is 2300 GMT when converted.

this is the first event i couldn’t complete. lots of crashes with the android update. had to get a new phone anyways but by that point it set me back a week. so sad to say no hot meg for me 😦 meg.. :p

Managed to unlock hot meg today, just in time for the end. Didn’t get Cupid or even get to the stage to repair his bench as I had to sacrifice quests to gain hearts for meg. Not too fussed though he’s not a major character. Seems like tinyco have packed too much in this time as every other event I’ve unlocked everything. Overall I enjoyed the event, especially the way prices were given for dates. Still think that things should be spread over more characters rather than the same five or six seeing as we have around fifty now.

Tinyco needs to get rid to the chance BS. I mean, when tsto did it everyone complained. Nit to mention that i really wanted cupid and after having to open every single prize from the valentines box cause it was the last prize that i git i finally got the cupid statue. What a total waste cause the event will end in an hr and im 505 hv short and I’ve been non stop collecting since the start of the event. Tinyco should allow people to finish their tasks to get the hv in order to unlock cupid. Im very unhappy and after the same fate with jesus im ready to quit after over a year of playing. Matt is all talk. Tinyco only cares about money.

Remember…it was different with TSTO because items could multiply. So you could end up getting only fences. With this box each time you win something the odds increase for everything else, since it’s removed.
Also…remember TSTO and TQFS are games by two totally different companies. So to compare them, even though we all do it, is unfair.

I don’t understand a lot of complains about Meg, but this was first event ever when I got all freemium characters. Dispite that my job only let me check game 2 times a day and I was working 6 days a week – I got enough hearts for all love prizes, I even got cards enough for three or four Rupert boxes ( I have 4 items left and it doesn’t bother at all – the most fun is characters, not buildings or decor when there is no land to put it). The drop rate for items needed to unlock characters was pretty reasonable.
Anyway this event was fun, stress free (almost, sometimes crushing 5 times in a row when you need to start over sending everyone on tasks in the morning makes you wanna throw your phone into wall), no need to really loose sleep and open game every hour… TinyCo, you did really great this time!

I don’t understand some of this. I didn’t play religiously necessarily, and I got almost everything, from a freemium perspective. All the buildings (both purchased with HMV and through the love/hate prizes), Cupid, Cheryl, and Ida. I also got Hot Meg last night through the mystery box. In fact the only thing I didn’t get was the Fire Hazzard Bed because of the Lois/date glitch. Even when the PDA couples were roaming around and we’re all the same color I never missed any and usually got them all with at least a minute to spare (I read before that 3 minutes wasn’t enough to get them all from some people, really?). I had a lot of fun even though I thought the event itself was rather lame. Actually thought the event was a little too long too, as it got boring the last week or so. I’m ready to move on to work the actual game not just the events. I do appreciate all the info provided by this website though, it was helpful.

I’m happy I got everything a freemium player could. My only major complaint was how TinyCo decided to end it. The event had too many quest lines at the last minute that used same character(s) going on 8-12 hour tasks making it nigh impossible to finish any of them within the time allowed. I essentially gave up doing quest lines 24+ hours before this event ended once I did the math and knew none could be accomplished.

I got everything unlocked that I wanted, but I’ve got a whole bunch of questlines I’m not going to see the end of.
I’m currently running:
– Can’t Buy Me Love Pt.11 (28 mins remaining)
– Pride and Benedict Pt.7 (2 hours remaining)
– Post Traumatic Sweetheart Disorder Pt.5 (10 hours remaining)
– Can’t Hardly Wait Pt.3 (30 hours remaining, since Cupid is busy with the above for 10 hours then has another 20 hour task)
– She’s All That Pt. 6 (Dunno, but Meg and Quagmire are both busy on other tasks above, so…)
Only an hour and a half before they all disappear 😦

Just got home from work, read latest blog update/reminder and also checked in on the FGQFS FB page. Well, since no sign of another mystery box, I blew through my saved up Valentines, on more of what I already have. Now if TinyCo pulls a last minute surprise, I am not gonna be a happy camper. Lol. Just saying.
