So while I was at the Airport in layover/flight cancellation hell (not gonna make it home tonight), it looks like TinyCo decided to add something a lil different to the game. Something MANY of you have requested…
A way to collect from a LOT of Buildings at once… in a way. Introducing Consuela’s Vacuum! WOOHOO!!
Peter will start of the dialog between him and Consuela for “Suck It Up” to teach you about the Vacuum.
Back in a bit with more details.
SUCK IT UP
This lil Pop Up will introduce you to the New Feature added to the game called Consuela’s Vacuum. As you will see in the Instructions, this will NOT collect Materials from Buildings. So any buildings currently dropping Materials will NOT count or be able to have the Vacuum used on.
To start, you will need to have at LEAST 10 of your Buildings in town ready to Collect Coins on. I had probably around 30+ in my town ready to be collected on.
You will know what buildings Consuela’s Vacuum works on as you will see the Coin Icon over them.
If you do NOT have at least 10 Buildings ready, the Icon will not show up. If you do, it is just a matter of locating Consuela’s Vacuum Icon in the Lower Right Corner of your game. Just above the Shopping Cart Menu Icon.
Once you tap on Consuela’s Vacuum Icon the game will “sit” for just a few moments depending on how many buildings you have, then you will see the Coin Collector 3000 Screen Pop Up with showing Consuela sucking up coins with her Vacuum and the total amount that was just Collected from your Quahog.
It cleared out every single Building I had that was ready to collect on as none right now have any Materials needed dropping.
UPDATE 7/15: For those asking…. it DOES collect the XP too on those same coin buildings it is collecting on. 😉
SIDE NOTES
- You need to have at LEAST 10 Buildings in your town ready to COIN ONLY Collect in order to have the Vacuum Icon work.
- You need to be on Version 1.10 of the Family Guy App in your App Market
- You need to be in at LEAST District 4
- You need to have completed The Lost Boys Part 2
If you do not meet these requirements, this feature will not be available to you until you do.
And there you have it. A cool feature brought into our silly lil games by Player Request. A cool lil spin on the idea. Can’t wait to see how it is put to use in my game. I know it will save me a TON of tapping time.

After a week with this feature and seeing how Tapped Out’s latest update changed to only require a single tap to collect both from a building and the completed tasks in it, I can’t help but wonder why TinyCo still requires us to tap over and over again when there are multiple characters with finished tasks in it. After all, we can’t select which character to complete next, anyway. Tapped Out was so much smarter with completing all in a single tap…

TSTO still needs a lot of work and something like this. That option didn’t really make the impact this Vacuum did. Those buildings with characters still don’t help to collect on the hundreds of other items I have in that game that need to be collected on. Not to mention it is most likely a building that refreshes every 2hrs or less or hardly used at all or not at all after an event. So… TSTO is STILL requiring me to go into my game multiple times to tap tap tap tap tap tap.
With this Vacuum… I am done in less than a minute with Family Guy collection, so a few other taps on the other 4 used ALL THE TIME for tasks is no bother to me. Just sayin. 😉

I’m waiting for a “Cancel Action” button. Sometimes u task a character to do sometime only to find out three clicks later that character now has a priority task to be completed but you have to wait xyz hours for the first task to be completed. Ugh… Enter the “cancel Action” button! What a great idea!!!!

I feel this probably was done largely for helping with game crashing, I know my game crashed/lagged quite often due to coin collection. But I’ll take it anyways 😀

But…
Be careful if you have pending task like “collect from…”
Using money collector doesn’t finish this kind of tasks, even if coins are collected…
I have to wait another few hours (sigh) and tap the coin …

Strange. I have done “collect from” tasks with the vacuum and it worked fine. I hit the vacuum, everything was collected, and back on the main screen the Progress! icon popped up next to the quest tab and when I looked they had been checked off.

As good as this is there are no use for 3 million coins or XP points. I have been max xp for over a year now and my coins are useless..

Maybe not right now… but as more and more get added, you never know. No reason to be “hatin” on a good thing, right? I know of many OTHER games I would love to have this in regardless how many millions I have. 😉

I absolutely love this feature! I stopped collecting coins on my buildings, because of the time it took, but I didn’t like the way it looked with all these coins hanging over my town. I have so much money and nothing to spend it on (another issue I hope they’ll solve). It’s great animation and a clever idea to collect coins all at once. Then my town is pretty again!

Hurray! I now can increase my stash of “only” 2 million coins to fill my ivory tower so I can swim in it! Without this I had given up on collecting coins.

This would be a nice feature… …if there was anything useful to do with coins. I’m a 2 million coins and stopped collecting months ago. Any hints what one can do with 2 million coins? Except for buying 40 Stewie Dictator Statues?

It may start to serve more purpose in the future as they bring in more Districts. Better late than never. 3+ years in the OTHER game and nothing like this. 😉

This is an awesome addition to the game, has increased stability more but crashes are still occurring due to the animations. I suspect that the file sizes for each animation are considerably large in the game resulting in people who have almost everything out and are maxed out level wise, are going to struggle massively no matter how much RAM their devices have. It is definitely the animations though, crashing always occurs when visiting neighbours, or scrolling through tasks forcesach chgarascter or menu. If they can fix those issues, I suspect the crashing issues will almost disappear. It can no it be easy for TinyCo at all as Android is spread out through multiple devices with many different forms of its OS, so trying to find a good balance cannot be easy. None the less, this is something that the developers should be aware of and able to deal with

I had the same friend as me about the XP and did we lose XP that we normally would get because it doesn’t show up when you use the Vacuum. I said now. I am correct in that assumption right?

What a wonderful addition to the game. Especially with the proliferation of “squatters” in most of these events, having a way to clear those pesky coinage icons (which are useless to high-level players) will make identifying targets so much easier. Imagine how much better last year’s Comic-Con event would have been (nerds, mutant Stewies) with this ability!

Best feature add on YET! This is one feature that trumps anything done in TSTO. The time saved is invaluable. They could have charged clams for this.
Speaking of which, perhaps TinyCo. should open up a huge swath of land…I mean HUGE, and make it purchasable for clams. At this point I would pay clams for more land..because this ish is redick!

Love it! I collected almost 7,000 coins this morning. My battery on my tablet doesn’t drain as quickly, and it saves A LOT of time when I am in a rush. Hope this sticks around!

I have found this addition has improved the stability of my game on my Android tablet. The coins and XP waiting to be cashed after clicking on each building seemed to create significant instability which now appears to be gone. If for no other reason than that, this is the best thing TinyCo has done in some time to improve the game playing experience.

Now this is not a WTD rant… But instead of working on adding new features, however cool they are (and this one sounds truly awesome!), shouldn’t they focus on fixing the crashes first, so that we can actually get into the game to use it? 😀

Most crashed for me happened for me while the screen was filled with cash bubbles waiting to be picked up. So this new feature has in fact increased my game’s stability quite noticeably.

I’m excited about the Vacuum. My friend got on her FG game and all this popped up, I hadn’t been on for a couple of hours as I was waiting for characters to finish their assigned task, and she had no clue what was going on or what happened when she finished the event, I was thinking to myself, didn’t you read it? Well I got on and of course Consuela popped up and I went through the steps. It sure is time saving to have her collect from buildings. I had to explain it to my friend, what and how this was going to work.

To be fair the instructions screen got skipped for me when I was playing, the first time I hit that vacuum button I thought I donated 3000 coins to Consuela!! Now I know it’s just an easier coin collection method.

I nuked my town after last update as it was too crowded. however, now with the vacuum option, I am pulling everything back out as it is so easy to collect now.

Agreed. If they insist on adding so many premium items to these events they should institute some sort of trade in. Say 1 million coins gets you 100 clams.
