Hey there Toady Lickin’ Roadies!
QUICK NOTE: It is a Holiday Weekend and I will not be around as much. No worries, I will also watch for any Technical Issues and still alert TinyCo on anything I see. Alissa may try to bounce in here and there to help… but have patience.
Otherwise please respect our need to step back this weekend and recharge. Comments will await Moderation a bit longer than usual… but we will get back to you as soon as we can. 🙂
UPDATE 230PM EST:
- Assert Error when clearing Robots is still being worked on. I found it happens more when trying to clear more than one. So just tap n clear one and wait til you get prize before starting to clear another.
- Hayley Task “Attack Bertram” was already known to TinyCo and they’re already working on a patch to fix it. It’s a glitch. Not intended. So if you still use it or are in process of using it… know it’s at your own risk.
- Rockstar Peter’s task to drop LPs can be helpful to use if you’re letting Mecha Astley rest. Otherwise, Rick Astley’s Concert drops LPs too. Will test the Encores that immediately follow later.
Rick is now busy rolling us around all this new content, which seems to be causing a LOT of confusion among many players.
One of those sources of confusion, the Mecha Astley. We did have a bit of a hiccup there at the beginning, but we all should be back on track now. So let’s take a closer look at the Mecha Astley and how it can help us in Phase 5.
First up a tip for those that are still seeing the “Cool Down Timer Won’t Move” issue.
- Make sure when you exit your game that you have COMPLETELY closed it out. That means it is not running at all in the “background” of your device. Keeping it completely closed will ensure that timer keeps running down.
Force Closing your game tips HERE!
Now for the fun… let’s jump into the ins and outs of taking down the Giant Mecha Astley.
WHEN DOES MECHA ASTLEY APPEAR?
Attack of the Mecha Astley Part 2 will be when you first catch an Appearance of the Mecha Astley Robot stomping and roaring all over your Quahog Streets.
HOW DO START TO BATTLE THE MECHA ASTLEY?
Once you have triggered the Mecha Astley in the Questline to start walking around town, tap on him.
You will get a Pop Up telling you about the Current Battle for the Mecha Astley. You will be able to see that you are being timed for 24hrs, the Reward you can get for defeating him in 24hrs, and the current amount of times you have battled him. Since this is your first time, you will see a Big Block around 1X.
Tap on “ATTACK”.
You will be brought to the Character Screen of the current available Characters that can Attack Mecha Astley. You will be able to see how much Damage they can do, if they are Busy (“GO”), or if they are available right now to “ATTACK”.
Tap on “ATTACK” on the Available Character.
You will now be transported to the Character and their task list. Here again you can see the Damage they will inflict on Mecha Astley, the time it will take them to Attack him, and the Payout for just doing the task itself.
Drag the Task Bubble over to the Character and begin the Attack.
You will now see the Character go Attack Mecha Astley in a “Musical” way.
WHAT CHARACTERS CAN I USE?
That all depends on WHO you have in your game already, currently only 3 can Attack him. The Damage amount will vary (Premium Characters usually run higher).
HOW LONG WILL THE ATTACK TAKE?
You can verify as you pull up each Characters Task, but right now I am seeing 4hrs all across the board.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW MUCH DAMAGE MECHA ASTLEY NEEDS?
As soon as the Mecha Astley appears on your Quahog Streets, he will have a Heart Icon with a Number on it and a Timer appear in a Bubble Box above his head.
The Number in the Heart Icon is the Current “Strength” he has. So you will need to Damage him the same amount to Defeat him.
For instance, if it says 2 in the Heart Icon… you will need to inflict 2 Damage to Defeat him.
HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO DEFEAT HIM?
You have 24hrs to drain all of his Heart Count down to the Number Zero and completely defeat him.
So keep a close watch on the Counter for “TIME LEFT” in the Pop Up if you tap on him or the one that will be timing down above his head as he is being battled or wandering your streets.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT DEFEAT HIM IN 24HRS?
If you are unable to completely drain his Heart Count to Zero in 24hrs, he will go into a 4hr Cool Down period and awaken all the way back at Level 1X. So no matter how far you have gotten to that point, not taking him to Zero sends you all the way back to Step One and Level 1X.
Don’t let the timer run out unless you want to start all over.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO DEFEAT HIM IN 24HRS?
If you are successful in Attacking him and Damaging him enough to make his Heart Count go all the way to Zero…
…Mecha Astley will go into a Cool Down Period for 4hrs, but this time when he is done Cooling down, he will move UP a Level on the Times Options (1X, 2X, 3X, etc)
In the image above, I attacked him on my first attack Level (1X) and was able to completely defeat him in under 24hrs. He then went into his Cool Down period of 4hrs (“Repairs In”) and you can see the Meter has now moved to Block around Level 2X. This means when he is done in 4 hrs, I will now be starting the Level 2X Attack on him.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE 4HRS END?
As noted above, that depends on if you couldn’t Defeat him or if you were successful.
If you do NOT Defeat him, you go back to Level 1X
If you DO Defeat him, you go to the next Attack Level UP.
CAN I KEEP ATTACKING HIM IN COOL DOWN?
YES & No… but there is a trick to this. We have offered this tip time and time again in “Boss Battles”.
It essentially breaks down as you need at least TWO Characters Attacking him for this to work. When they are done Attacking after 4 hours… ONLY TAP ONE CHECK MARK AND WAIT. DO NOT CLEAR THE OTHER ONE.
Let me explain. If you have only 1 Heart left on Mecha Astley, you only need 1 Damage to Defeat him. This means that you can leave the SECOND Character Attacking him all during his Cool Down period. This will give you a head start on the next Attack as you can just tap the Check Mark once he recovers and the 24hr timer starts again and then clear that other Check Mark to deliver an immediate blow.

The reason also for leaving one (or more if you can) Attacking him too is you CAN’T start any new Attacks while he is in Cool Down. The game will not let you. The Tasks will not exist. Attacks have to have been started BEFORE he is Defeated and goes into Cool Down.
So use that last tap just before he is Defeated wisely. Do not waste a Character like Tricia with a 2 Damage if he only needs 1 Damage done for a final Defeat. Use Peter or Rick instead and leave her to Attack while he sits in Cool Down.
WHAT DO I GET IF I DEFEAT HIM?
The Ultimate Goal here is to Attack & Defeat him over and over and over and over as many times as you possibly can without EVER letting that timer run down the 24hrs.
This will continue all the way up the Attack Levels. Higher Levels equal HIGHER amounts of Prizes.
For Instance, here are some of the Payouts I have gotten so far. I will update this post with the additional ones as I hit each new Level (the timer issue put me behind). If you already have the Next Levels & their payouts, feel free to share them below.
| LEVEL | HEART | GOLD ROBOTS | GLOWSTICKS | MICROPHONES |
| |
|
|
|
|
| 1X | 2 Hearts | 3 | 20 | 2 |
| 2X | 3 Hearts | 6 | 50 | 4 |
| 3X | 10 Hearts | 9 | 125 | 12 |
| 4X | 16 Hearts | 12 | 200 | 20 |
| 5X | 20 Hearts | 15 | 250 | 26 |
| Each Additional 5X | 20 Hearts | 15 | 250 | 26 |
So as you can see, the Higher up you go… the better the Prizes get. Continue up as far as you can as fast as you can.
Now even though you are on the different levels, that base pay is not all you will get. For instance, the Glowsticks are multiplied. The amount may vary by player, but these are MY game results. I will allow my Mecha to reset after I am done with questlines and got what I need to see what happens as I move through all 5 Levels and if I get the same Glowstick payouts again.
1X- 100 Glowsticks
2X- 100 Glowsticks
3X- 200 Glowsticks
4X- 600 Glowsticks
5X- 2000 Glowsticks
So on 5x Level, my payout of Glowsticks was actually 2000 not just 250. That is 8x the amount listed. I got 2000 every time I continued to take him out at the 5X level.
WHAT DO I NEED GOLD ROBOTS FOR?
As soon as you Defeat Mecha Astley, the amount of Gold Robots you won are released onto the Quahog Streets. Gold Robots, when attacked by a Mechanic… have the Common Chance to drop Tubs of Lard. These are needed in order for you to continue earning Materials to get Greased Up Deaf Guy as a Permanent Character in your game.
So get as many of these guys as you can. They also only take ONE Mechanic to be destroyed where the Silver take 3.
Side Note: I had all 2 Spawns of Gold in my game (9+6) and let them roam. No MAX reported yet. I’m still checking. Will update with answer.
WHAT DO I NEED MICROPHONES FOR?
As soon as you Defeat Mecha Astley, the Microphones will appear and then collect to the Spooner Stage. Tapping on the Spooner Stage and selecting any Sideshow Concert will take you to a 2nd screen where you can see your Microphone total in the top right corner.
You will want to collect as many Microphones as you possibly can so you can use them for SideShow Concerts over at the Spooner Stage. Those SideShow Concerts offer a Payout of several Materials needed for several aspects in the game. They will also bring a boost to your Glowsticks. Get as many as you can as quick as you can.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REACH LEVEL 5X?
When you hit the highest Level, 5X, it is up to you what you would like to do. As each Level will get harder and harder, it may be easier to allow him to reset to 1X instead of struggling to continue on. However, if you feel that you can keep going and maintain the Requirements for 5X… you can do it over and over and over. It will just keep resetting back at 5X. So keep the Streak going as long as you can.
As soon as you are unable Defeat him at 5X, he will reset back to 1X.
There you have it, the Basics run down of Mecha Astley and some tips on how to keep Attacking him.
What do you think of it so far? How many times have you Attacked him? What Level are you at? What Prizes have you got? Let us know.

I got 2,000 wristbands for killing mecha astley on 5x and couldn’t figure it out. Can you explain the math here: Base of 250, 5x level, 20 hearts. What is being multiplied/added/whatever to yield 2000. Tried doing all different combinations with your reported payouts and the base numbers posted and can’t figure it out. Thanks!

Lol. As you can see in this very post you are commenting on… I got the same. 5x is not a multiplier… it is just saying you beat him 5 times in your game (or more as you continue the streak). It seems to just be a kind of “hidden” bonus on the Mecha. I ain’t gonna complain. We need all the Glowsticks we can get our hands on. 😉

Yeah I read what you wrote. I just wanted to understand the formula! I guess there is none! I need reasoning and logic with numbers, sorry! Seems silly they have the numbers posted if they really mean nothing. I thought it was a glitch honestly!

Lol. I’m a number person too so I giggled that there’s not a set “this times this equals that”. But I’ve seen it so many events now… I just don’t bother. Lol

I can’t unlock Rick Astley without a bunch of material that only comes from the Spooner Stage. I can’t use the Spooner Stage without a ton of microphones that come from beating Mecha Astley. I can’t get past level 2 with Mecha Astley because I don’t have Rick Astley unlocked. How the heck am I supposed to do this without paying money???

It will be slower going, but it can be done. Others are same. The Event becomes more and more challenging as it hits the end. More options may come next Phase tomorrow.

I don’t think you CAN completely defeat him without spending clams at this point for Trisha…top level at 5x requires 20 hits in 24 hours. At 4 hours each attack…even WITH Rick Astley…even getting up in the middle of the night to advance…it’s still absolutely impossible.

Same as it is tagged on the bubble above GUDG head… Common.

I sent my results to tinyco and told them that the tubs of grease were not registering as common drops, they replied with the drops are random every time and each drop ranges from common to extra rare, all drops are not common, this is their new method for drops. If you can find out any differently please let us know because I am averaging 1 tub of grease for every 5-6 gold robots.

I’ve been reading the forums as I have found myself a bit ahead of the curve having already unlocked Riccardo and Rick Astley. For those of you who are progressing slowly I can offer some insight:
1. Save your glowsticks. Just keep banking them. If you are not getting as many as you feel you need than you may need to adjust your playing habits.
2. Mecha Astley – it can be hard to keep the momentum going. Keep characters fighting all the time. When character task is done, clear only one at a time a send back out so you have the best chance.
3. Sometimes you need to spend glowsticks to make glowsticks. As said above, bank glowsticks when possible but event buildings drop event currency. It may take a little to get back what you spent on a building but it will be better in the long run.
4. Merchandise – only get what you want – need to progress. If you keep buying all the decorations you will go broke. Choose what is best for your game.
5.Hayley- yes there is a glitch. No you don’t need to use it.
6. Follow the main quest line first and foremost! Don’t get distracted with smaller less rewarding quest lines.
7.if you use clams, use them wisely.
8.Riccardo drops hearing aids for GUDG
9.yes that is a lot of tubs of grease you need. Obviously GUDG (greased up deaf guy)is meant to be a challenge. Do not expect to get him till nearer the end of the event. I’m optimistically hoping that another source for grease will come next phase. DON’T PANIC

So what is the risk you speak of in using Hayley to attack Mecha Astley?
LikeLike
Much like the Concert glitch, when it is patched as they are working on one… it could cause an error message on the screen and lock you out of the game. Causing more than just a subtle delay while you wait for TinyCo to unlock it again. It also could cause OTHER issues while using it if it doesn’t count right. May make items you win not appear, etc. Glitches are just that, a glitch. When you try to use a glitch other issues appear too. So… use at your own risk.

So far so good using her for me. I just defeated level 3 mechaastley with just Peter and Hayley. Its mathematically impossible to beat level 4 with just them, especially since Hayley actually only does one damage instead of 2, so I won’t be trying level 4. So now until either the patch hits or 28 hrs go by and mecha has reset Hayley will just be doing her 8 hr 3 glowstick job.

This isn’t a gripe, I’m just surprised there’s only 3 characters that can attack Mecha Astley. You’d think at least Snoop Dog or Avril would be able to, or Chris or Meg.

Hi. Some Math to Defeat Mecha Astley:
Hearts By Level: Lvl.1: 2; Lvl.2: 4; Lvl.3: 10; Lvl.4: 16; Lvl.5: 20;
A-Side:
Attempts per Day per Character without Rushing: 4 for One of the Character (Damage 1 Characther) and 5 for the Others (Could be 6 if you choose to wake up at mid of the night…Up to You…) Considering that all except one of the Characters would be battleing during rest time.
Cenario 1 (Only Peter): Max. Damage: 4; Max Level: 2;
Cenario 2 (Peter and Rick): Max. Damage: 9; Max Level: 2;
Cenario 3.1 (Peter, Rick and Tricia Gaga): Max. Damage: 19; Max. Level: 4;
Cenario 3.2 (Peter, Rick and Hayley): Max. Damage: 14; Max. Level: 3;
Cenario 4 (Peter, Rick, Tricia and Hayley): Max. Damage 24; Max Level: 5;
Results: If you plan to sleep 8 Hours straight a Night, and:
1) If you decide not to use Hayley and don’t want spend clams on Tricia, you only reach Level 2;
2) If you decite TO use Hayley, but not Tricia, you will only reach Level 3;
3) If you Spent Clams on Tricia but Dont Want to use Hayley, you will only reach Level 4;
4) The only way to reach Level 5 is to use booth Tricia and Hayley.
B-Side:
Now, Harakiri mode of Play, meanning you will not sleep… (Attempts per Character per Day: 5/6 – Same reason as above):
Cenario 1 (Only Peter): Max. Damage: 5; Max Level: 2;
Cenario 2 (Peter and Rick): Max. Damage: 11; Max Level: 3;
Cenario 3.1 (Peter, Rick and Tricia Gaga): Max. Damage: 23; Max. Level: 5;
Cenario 3.2 (Peter, Rick and Hayley): Max. Damage: 17; Max. Level: 4;
Cenario 4 (Peter, Rick, Tricia and Hayley): Max. Damage 29; Max Level: 5;
Results: Self Explanatory
Subliminary Message from TC:
“If you Really Want to Reach Level 5 give us Money and don’t Sleep…If you plan to use Hayley…hey it’s up to you, but even soo…you have to give us Money and maybe you can sleep…if we decide no to pull her out of course…”
Beside some sarcasm, an cool one, the results are there…

Keep in mind… a whole NOTHER week coming of content. It has been VERY common each and every Event to not see all the possibilities for the “Boss Battle” til the last week. So, do what YOU can in the game. You are not forced to complete it all RIGHT NOW. Work at your own pace and at your own gaming style (Premium vs Freemium). Then wait and see what the next Phase drops into our game on the 10th. 🙂
LikeLike
And don’t forget, you can’t actually complete 6 tries in 24 hours. if you do your “Harikari” method, then you’d have to speed up the 6th try to beat the 24 hour timer.
LikeLike
Actually, you can, but only if it’s a holdover character. Let’s say that you’ve unlocked Rockstar Peter and Rick Astley, you’re carrying over Rick from the last fight (he’s fighting him during cooldown), and Mecha Astley “wakes up” exactly at midnight. You can start Peter’s attack and finish/restart Rick’s attack just after this. It takes a few seconds, but for sake of clarity, we’ll say you do both actions at 12:01 am. You can repeat in 4 hours plus the little bit of time it takes to tap (again, we’ll round up to 4:01). So Peter can cause damage (at end of task) 5 times (4:02 am, 8:03 am, 12:04 pm, 4:05 pm, 8:06 pm). Rick can do so that one extra time at the beginning (at 12:01 am), to make 6. If you want to spend a minimum of Clams, you can speed each of them up at 11:59 pm in order to get in a 6th and 7th respectively. Should be one or two Clams each.
Therefore the maximum (no Clams) with Peter alone is 5 (lvl 2), with Peter and Rick is 11 (lvl 3), with Peter and Trisha is 17 (lvl 4), and with all three is 23 (lvl 5).
LikeLike
I’m sorry but that is exactly what I wrote on B-Side Cenario 1 to 3.1, except for Peter with Trisha, wich i dindt. But that was precisely the point: To finish Lvl 5 You need to spend Clam on Tricia and you cannot sleep…
LikeLike
So it jumps from 3 hearts to TEN!? I’m nowhere near unlocking Rick Astley and there’s no way I’m paying all those clams for Tricia Takagaga so all I can do is wait a whole day until the Mecha-Astley resets back to level one. I hope the next 24 hour challenge happens tomorrow so I can do something productive while I wait for that robot to reset. It would be nice if they could put in maybe a 4 hour task to reset the robot so we don’t get stuck in Limbo. All I have is Peter and it’s not possible to do 10 four hour tasks in 24 hours…It would sure be nice if they could add another character that can fight this robot…

All I can suggest is first… report your struggle to TinyCo. Secondly… try to get what you can with the Basics. Short and many Character tasks. Questline completions. Bears, Bee Girls, and Toads. Building Collections. Just go as fast as you are able until you can get access to that stage again, then into Phase 5. Just do NOT spend Glowsticks on anything else what so ever unless the MAIN questline states you need it to move on.

Always appreciate the support from the addicts! Am relieved to see that I am not the only one struggling for tubs of grease. Have cleared 8 gold and 1 silver robot and have got only 3 tubs. Not common! But the worst thing is that wrenches are so tough to get hold of. Can only get around 4 or 5 wrenches/mechanics per day so even with 100% drops the tubs would take ages.
Also only have one trenchcoat drop from sideshows so far and yet to start on hearing aids.
This all despite spending on takagaga and buying a few boxes.
Was much better than recent events and until now. Seems to be a big misjudgement here.

So, I just started playing a few months ago, and this is only my 2nd event with a boss battle. But, I just realized that the 1x-5x are multipliers of the number of glow sticks you earn. So, I just beat mecha Astley on 3x and got 375 glow sticks, not 125. That’s awesome. This is definitely going to be a gold mine in earning glow sticks. I hope he sticks around for awhile.
LikeLike
It is just saying how many times you battle him, it is not a multiplier at all. “You battled him 1 times, 2 times, 3 times, 4 times, and 5 times.” 😉
LikeLike
But, it is a multiplier. But, only for the glow sticks. Not the gold bugs or microphones. I just defeated him for the 4x and the pay out is listed as 200. And I earned 800 glow sticks from it. Next time you beat him as long as it’s not 1x pay attention to your glow stick amount. You’ll be pleasently surprised. 😉 (it’s worked that way every time for me so far. The same with the cookies in the last event. At that time I thought it might be a glitch.)

You are missing what I am saying. It is NOT a multiplier in the sense that it is all base off of the very first amount that was shown at the 1x Level. Many think that. That only that first amount times by 1-5. So players panic thinking that even the top one will only give them like 100 Glowsticks. 😉
LikeLike
Ok. I get what you’re saying :). It’s just a little deceptive the way it’s listed. And it would be good to let people know what they will actually earn. For instance a lot of people might not think it’s worth it to try and defeat Mecha Astley at 5x just to earn 250 glow sticks. But, personally I definitely think that it’s worth it to earn 1250. That could make a big difference in earning prizes in this phase and the next.

If I’m reading the above right, if I’m not going to kill him in 24 hours I should just ignore him because he’ll reset to stage 1 no matter how much damage I do, right?
Thanks.

As a freenium player it seems hard to defeat Mecha Astley without both Peter and Rick Astley. But to get Rick you need microphones (for the Rock Show), and the only way to get those without clams is defeating Mecha Astley. Am I missing something?
LikeLike
I just finished my second side show after attacking Mecha with Peter twice (level 1) to get 2 microphones. I had thought that I would need 1 microphone per performer, but actually I could choose all four performers (listed as Alice, Avril, Goth Chris, and Peter in my game) for just one microphone. Trench coats were listed as low probability, but my second show gave me three of them (out of 12 needed for Rick). So I would suggest not worrying too much and just going ahead with the Mecha attacks and sideshows, and hoping for the best. I assume the bigger the band, the better, so you might try to keep the potential band members all free once Mecha goes into cooldown after receiving the microphones. I don’t know how things change if you’re doing a pop show to get stuff for greasy guy, my only option so far has been the rock show (producing glowsticks, a silly hot air balloon deco, some lighters, and the precious three trench coats from two shows so far). They might change the number of microphones needed at different levels or for different types of shows.

Anyone else having issues with gold robots? The last 4 I’ve cleared have only dropped glow bands, no grease.

I cleared 5 gold robots and only have 1 tub of grease. The droprate is definitely not common.

Same here, no grease for my last 3-4 gold robots. 😦 I thought it was supposed to be a common drop.

I dnt see what the big deal is really….its not like you earn any great prizes by defeating Mecha Astley I only have Peter to work with and honestly Ill prolly get the same amount of glo stix and microphones by repeating the first 2 levels as everyone else…its only a game people dnt let it get you crazy just have fun and whatever happens happens….:)

Finally got into Phase 5 a couple of hours ago (late Sunday night). Have to wait for a building to drop a wrench before I can deal with Mecha Astley (when hit Pt 2 of quest). Lessee – 4 hours for each Peter hit, 4 hours for cool down. That’s 8 hrs for the first 2 microphones (1x level win), 4 hrs cooldown. The next 4 microphones (2x level win) require 12 hours from Peter, which would all have to be right on the mark to make the 24 hour limit, yes? I see setting loud timers in my future for the next ten days. But the shows requiring microphones seem to be the only freemium way to get the rare trench coats to unlock Rick, unless I’m missing something. Once he’s unlocked, it will be easier to collect microphones, but with a rare drop – oh, dear! Head spinning. Circular reasoning too much for remaining brain cells… Must revive with glowsticks. Many many glowsticks. Oh, the colors! Anybody have a leftover bag of oregano?

Finally got to the first attack and it dawned on me that the timer should reset after each attack level…. Whew. That makes getting more microphones more feasible, will just need 8 hours for Peter to get the first two microphones (1x level win), cool down 4 hours and reset the timer, and 12 hours for Peter to get 4 microphones (level 2 win). I can relax about setting alarms…. Good thing, since I mindlessly tapped on Mecha to see what was there two hours before Peter would be free, so of course the timer was down to 22 hours by the time Peter could aim his loaded guitar. Fun animation, though.
The real time required for the 2+4 = 6 microphones from levels 1x and 2x (including cooldown) would be 8+4+12+4 = 28 hours. An attempt at level 3x (10 damage points for 12 microphones) with just Peter would take 40 attack hours, no go with the 24 hour limit per level. When Rick is unlocked, it becomes feasible: 20 attack hours. So after winning level 2x, after the 4 hour cooldown I guess we just have to let the timer run down for 24 hours if we just have Peter? Then we can start at 1x again. Or is there another way to do it?

That is pretty much the best way to do it. Just make sure you completely exit out of the game to get the Cool Down Timer running and the 24hr one.

So far I haven’t noticed any problem at all with the 24 hour and cooldown timers (iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3), they seem to start fine while I’m ambling around my town and they match my Mickey Mouse wall clock… But I always hard quit when I leave the game, so that might be helping.

Hey fellow addicts, I just wanted to wish everyone an awesome Labor Day weekend. Phase 5 has been quite a difficult level. I am an avid player but even so, this level has me rethinking a lot of things. I honestly don’t want to buy that Chinese characters outfit. And Peter is the only one that could get a mic. I tried to fight that robot with Peter but it only knocked out one hit. And then the option to do it again with Peter disappeared. I honestly don’t know how else to get mics. And I really love the game, but I’m disappointed that tiny co has made this phase sooooo difficult. I know I won’t have a chance in hell in getting greased up deaf guy. I managed to get one single scorpion to drop off the item. I killed 4 other scorpions but they only dropped glow sticks. So not fair. On a lighter note, I can’t wait for the new season of family to come on soon

His task to battle Mecha is pretty far down his task list unlike in previous events it was at or close to the top. Good luck and hope u are having a groovy holiday weekend also!

You have to click on Mecha Astley for the task to pop up in Peter’s task menu to attack him again. Its just another bug TinyCo missed.

The option for Peter to attack again did not disappear. Just scroll down on his tasks (make sure you are on the correct Peter costume). Hope this helps.

Observed in 2 games:
after defeating Mecha Astley, the 4 hour reset timer does not complete until you open the game. I’m not talking about the earlier bug where the countdowm does not work with the game closed, I mean the countdown works normally, but if you come back 5 hours later you get 24h to kill him again, not 23h.
If someone can confirm this, it would be a welcome change. It means you can defeat MA right before bed time, and get the full 24 hours when you get up in the morning. In the past you could miss one full rotation at the boss.

First comment still in moderation, but here’s an update anyway.
Just let MA expire after 24h at level 3 in both games. The 4 hour reset cool down DID NOT begin until I reopened the game. I left if before lunch with 30 mins on the kill timer, when I came back and opened it one hour later, the cooldown started at 3:59:59.
People need to plan for this, but frankly I think it’s a great change that will help people manage their attacks better.

I found a new minor glitch. Players can’t progress in quest lines when they are needed to open them if the character is performing in the tent. I can’t start Mecha Astley Part 2 because Alice is busy getting items and I’m forced to wait an hour until he’s finished.
Usually the game allows characters to start the next part of quest lines if they’re doing other tasks, so I find it odd that this happened. So other players be cautious not to over use characters you need to progress in quest lines.

I mean Part 3.
What happens is when you press the character with the “!” the game goes to the character performing in the tent and not the cut scene to open the next part of the quest.

I know this the Mecha Astley section but with the weekend holidays I wanted to be as current as possible without waiting for WTD. I have down some rough calculations based on the math and timing and my experience over the first 2 days of this phase.
At 6 hour times for Chris and the properties a person could possibly do 4 a day but more realistically I would say 3 times so that is potentially 9 chances to get a wrench in a day. If you want to set an alarm to wake you up every 6 hours be my guest. As it is a chance of a wrench, not a guarantee I will be generous and say 8 drop. With the needed 30 minute spawn time for a mechanic that puts it behind to say a maximum of 6 mechanics you can get in a day. If half the robots give a tub of grease that would 3 per day, and again being generous as I have gotten more glow sticks than tubs. Needing 70 tubs that equals 23 days. The event is over in 12. It is an impossible task.

As I consistently state… wait. Have patience. It is impossible to predict the final week without knowing what is in the final week. So, just do what you can to earn what you can this Phase, then see what the final one brings. You can’t say “impossible” until you have ALL the information. If we always based stats on only what is currently available in that weeks Phase, then you might as well not bother and just walk away. You only know what there is for a week. Nothing more. That is why I wrote in big bold letters that it was ONLY Part one for him. Another reason I tell people to focus on the main posts and keep to the subject. 😉
There is ALWAYS more coming. Always. 😉

They might add ways to get wrenches later or change the number released per squashed robot bug. Might as well keep collecting wrenches and squishing robots for the fun of it. You and I might end up with greasy guy after all, although he has no appeal whatsoever for me. (Not as bad as that angry laundry guy.) I don’t see any other use for the mechanics at the
moment, but materials needed for greasy guy will change in the last part of the event it seems, judging from the ? marks in the lock bubbles.

I hit “post comment” too quick! I meant to add, I am playing this event freemium, and part of that decision was that I was not going to get all the cool stuff, but I would enjoy playing, and not stress or grind. You are not alone. Even with a premium statue collecting glow sticks and a boost from the avril secret concerts it seems far out of reach. Esp. since most of the new ways to get extra glowsticks won’t be available til after unlocking Rick Astley…You can only do mecha to lvl 2 and those payouts aren’t great. You can’t do concerts yet. You can’t do many side shows because you can only do mecha to lvl 2 and you can’t use Peter to help get the large number of records you need on the days he’s busy with mecha, obviously every day and a half when it’s on lvl 3 and you’re waiting for a reset you can collect 2-3 records to help with the 20 you need for Ricardo…but personally given the number of grease tubs needed for deaf guy unless some adjustment happens, I wouldn’t even waste my time working on Ricardo or GUDG. I’m focusing on the absurd number of concert tickets needed for Astley’s track. So brown bears brown bears brown bears. Just be happy with what little you can get the rest of the event and don’t worry about it unless you want to drop cash on a bunch of premium items, cuz the rest of the event looks pretty much pay to play.

This is easily one of my least favorite recurring event challenges. You are hostage to your game and the level-ups become not possible until you have all the characters in the game who can perform the task. Unless you bought Tricia’s skin and/or have Rick Astley already, you get a two-day vacation once you reach level three since Peter alone can’t get 10 kills in a 24-hour period at one per task and you just have to sit and let the timer run out. Enjoy it everyone!

I also value Bunny and Alissa, and you might have misread the intent of my post. It was directed to the people who are coming to every single post to whine and complain about the game. Bunny and Alissa have stated over and over again to take the whines and bitching to What the Duece or TinyCo, yet, there are still dozens of folks who insist on doing it here. I understand those who are bringing up technical issues, as that may be helpful for others who are wondering if it is their devices or game wide. The annoying ones are those who insist on complaining about “this game is such a clam grab” or, “they are forcing you to buy premium characters”, or “this is the worst event ever”, etc, is getting tiring, and has absolutely nothing to do with Bunny or Alissa..
I want this site to remain, and as it stands, I would not blame them if they backed away to avoid the negativity.
Bunny and Alissa, in case my original post was not clear, I think what the two of you do for this site, and the people who come here is amazingly generous, and I, among with many others, are extremely grateful for all you do.

So yes, it does get old after a while. Our site is not entitled “The ONLY Place To Whine & Bitch About TinyCo”. This is the Addicts site. Simple respect for the Addicts is all we ask, because quite honestly… Alissa has already stepped back from the abuse… so… if I decide as well it is just not worth the amount of personal time, vacation days, sick days, and money I put into this site anymore… then the Addicts will be no more.
