The Updates are starting to hit the App Markets. For right now, ONLY iOS has gone live. So make sure you journey on over to your App Store and download the 1.13.0 Version of the Family Guy Game from it.
UPDATE 9PM EST: Android Update is live now. Make sure you go and download it in prep for things coming soon! I had to use my “Update All” option in “My Apps” to get it to take as it just showed “Open” in the App Screen in Google Play.
Kindle Players, let me know when you see it too.
Downloading the latest Updates ensures you have any “glitch” patches installed into your game as well as any additional content or information that will be necessary for upcoming items.
Google & Kindle Players, hang in there. I will let you know when I see the Updates hit those App Markets too.
Side Note: Remember when you update on one device, it may prevent you from playing on another device from the other Market until that is fully up to date too.

I have been playing for months but never pay attention to when events actually begin. I did the update so I’m ready when it does hit. My question is when do they tend to release the events? Is there usually a certain time?

I need your help. I play on an iPad mini. I went to the App Store and it’s still showing version 1.10.0. When I hit the update icon at the bottom of the page, it shows the new FG icon and tells the story of death at the drive in. But, I do not get the option to update, just go. Any suggestions?

I think I figured it out. I opened the version history and it is showing 1.13.0. That is also showing when I open up the usage section on my iPad. I have to be past 1.10 because Septemberfest was 1.11 and I did that. I confuse easily. Thanks for your quick response. We’ll see what happens when it goes live.

Bunny, can you help me? I installed the latest update for Android and ended up with a major issue…it only installed 8.61mb of 47mb before saying that the game is now successfully updated. Never had this happen before where an update is only partially installed. Is there something I can do to re-install the update or go back and delete the partial one? I’m honestly concerned here… Cheers!

You may have only needed a bit of it. If anything, as long as your game is saved to an email or Facebook… you can always go the uninstall/resinstall route.

Update now available for Android. You need to go into the Play Store and go to the App List. Then tap on FGQFS. The “installed” will then turn into “update”. It won’t show up yet on regular update list. Again this is just the update. It’s not live yet.

I think v 1.13.0 is up in Google Play now. It has the Halloween icon and descriptions. But as to if it’s the Event, I don’t think so.

So as others patiently awaiting the update on Android. Two things stand out so far that peeps should take into consideration:
1) TinyCo not immediately starting the event is a GOOD thing. To be fair to everyone and not give others the jump on the event. Now I don’t happen to like the leaderboards but it wouldn’t be fair to Android players, should we suffer the likes of those boards again, to be left behind because of a delayed rollout. So it is a good thing.
2) FG is a Fox property and can only use Fox properties in game without license from another company. IE: Beetlejuice is a WB property, Fox would have to license it with WB for use with FG. Then TinyCo would have to sub-license from Fox as long as WB gave permission to sub-license. Sadly not likely to happen but would be fun nonetheless.
As Halloween is my favorite time of year, my wallet is open and ready. Bring on the fun TinyCo!

Jason Voorhees is a Paramount/WB character, Freddy Krueger is from NewLine Cinema, Predator and Alien are from Fox. So anything’s video games rights are open to negotiation. Except for Disney most likely. Even Futurama’s characters can’t appear in Tapped Out as the game rights were bought by another company. It’s complicated. Tiny Co will spend the $$$$ though, examples being the many guest stars (movie, TV and music) with voices, and things like the entire cast of Star Trek TNG.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the cast from The Big Bang Theory show up some time, as they did appear on Family Guy once. At least Leonard and Sheldon did with a visual of Penny.

Chucky is owned by Universal so there has obviously been deals made somewhere also haven’t Michael Myers, Freddy, Jason etc appeared in Simpsons Halloween specials? So it’s not like Fox have never used franchises from other companies before.

I would love Ash Williams from Evil Dead especially with Ash Vs The Evil Dead cable TV series coming out on Halloween. This would be a great time for a cross promotion and who wouldn’t want Bruce Campbell dropping tons of one-liners in their Quahog. I’d even go premium for him.

Ummmm… do you NOT know who owns the TV series broadcast rights? FOX. And they don’t “run” TSTO, EA does. The game is created and owned by EA. FOX owns broadcasting rights to the Simpsons TV Series.
Same here. TinyCo owns, runs, and creates the game. Family Guy TV Series broadcast rights are owned by FOX;)

There’s So much Horror Icons in hoping for. We know we have Chucky,Death and Michael Meyers, but I really want to see Beetlejuice,Pennywise,Pinhead,Hannibal Lector and Leatherface. Maybe some Classic Monsters too Like Frankenstein, The Wolf Man
or Dracula? Either way I’m Super Saiyan Physched for the event!!

I downloaded the new Halloween update and all of my characters are free(not on quests) but the Halloween update has not started on my game. Is there a start date or is there something wrong with my update? I am playing on iOS 9.0.2. Thanks

You did NOT download the Event. Just the Update. There is nothing to start. See this post, as it states… you need it to ensure you are prepped for the Event and have the proper patches. It is NOT the event. 😉

I can’t wait to see what they have for us! I hope we can get good use out of some characters from last Halloween too. I’ve been playing for a year, so those premium Halloween characters would be nice to reuse.

Sounds cool. I’m hoping that Jason shows up again too, Friday the 13th is my favorite slasher movie and I didn’t have the clams to get him last year.

I have to say I’m not looking forward to another event. The fact that my game crashes all the time (and sometimes completely locks up my phone) is bad enough without having to add more content which will only make things worse. I just wish TC’d spend the time necessary to fix these issues. I know of another game that did just that and I’m sure they didn’t lose any fans over it.

Think of it this way, the technical issues are mainly focused around YOUR device and how it functions with the App itself. We offer a lot of troubleshooting steps and you can even contact TinyCo from your game for further help. Events are planned months in advance, so regardless what it going on right now with your game, these Events will still push out as they were legally contracted and prescheduled to do. You don’t close a Show at a theater due to one of the actors got sick. You don’t shut down an entire theme park because one ride is down. Etc.
Technical issues are scarce and only a very tiny small percentage of Players experience them. I know it sucks when your game does not work, but understand you are one in Millions of Players. There are options to help fix the issue, you just need to take those steps or be patient as patches come through. Just like the patch today in the iOS update. There is no “flip the switch” fix to things. If that was the case, the world would be perfect. I doubt that is gonna happen anytime. As far as ANOTHER game, the one we write on has been going 3 years and there are still glitches. You deal with them, patiently wait for them to be fixed, or move on. Complaining on a helpful post does no one any good. 😉

I had the same problem as you, Hughesromino. I solved it by putting all of my decorations in storage and left the buildings out. Then, I started getting so many buildings that the crashing started again. Since I have over 2,000,000 coins, I figured i could afford to put some of the unnecessary buildings away. I have a tendency to want to level up all of my characters to max, so when they are, I put them in inventory too (with the exception of any character that may drop items). All of these steps have helped me. I talked to TC about it before I put a bunch of things away and they said my device doesn’t have the RAM capacity to run the game and that they were working on a way to minimize the amount of RAM the game consumed. That’s when I came up with the idea to put things away. Oh, and also close any apps running in the background. Btw, my device is an iPod Touch 5th Generation. Idk what your device is, but I hope this helps! 🙂

Storing items is a HUGE help in any App Game. Our cute lil devices just can’t function like a Home Game System or PC. Just not enough in their to function the same. So we have to watch for where the device limits are and make adjustments accordingly. It is why storing and memory are the two main things we offer for tips on Crashing & Lagging Issues. Both are main causes. 🙂

I also suggest playing on facebook if you are able to. I have been using it since before Peterpalooza and have had next to no issues (im using chrome browser) i cant even get past the loading screen on my ipod 4. it should always be up to date in content also.

The update hasn’t hit for Android(well, not for me anyway) at the time of my posting, but the Septemberfest event has ended, and there is a new popup for the free music from Google Play. I redeemed all of them, but I still get the prompt. If you go to the support menu there is a new category, I think they can be redeemed until the 26th of October. It was nice of them to bring it back in case people didn’t get the chance to redeem them. No idea if Apple users can do it, but I doubt it as they couldn’t originally.

Update done, bring on the scares. Quite appropriately that will probably be around midnight in the UK, the witching hour. Fingers and toes crossed for Pinhead, but not sure if it will be more of an American horror movies theme. Clive Barker came up with some seriously scary stuff in his Books of Blood. But for me the best horror films are the Italian ones, and I also love Italian Giallo movies, can’t beat a bit of Suspiria or Deep Red. Sadly a lot of recent horror movies are mostly gore fests, nothing scary in them.

I haven’t seen a good horror movie in 15 years or more!!! Pinhead & Hellraiser was relatively popular here in the States, not to the level of Freddy or Jason but still known. Then again my father and I used to watch every B horror movie that we could get our hands on!!!

Looking forward to Death appearing in the game. Hoping that reading between the lines of that preview means that Death will actually be an earn-able character in the game during this event. And really hoping he is not Premium or Impossible to get Freemium (ala School Girl Tricia and Ricardo).

The Hook Man is an old scary story that has been told since I could long remember. For instance, couple in the woods in a car hearing a scratching sound on the hood and boyfriend tells story of a man with a Hook… later cops find scratch marks on the Hood of the car and only a Hook hanging out of an indented part of roof.
LOTS of different and variable versions of the Hook Man. But yes, those kind of Movies all came from Urban Legends.
