“We’ve just deployed a patch that will restore missing prize catalogue buildings. This automatic restore does not include vehicle buildings; players who are missing the vehicle hangars will see a modal on launch telling them to find them for 1 coin in the shop. Their hangars will be level one, until they force close and return. On return, their Hangar Levels will adjust to meet their progress in the event.”
I’ve seen some still can’t battle and passed that on. It’s holidays so not too much more can be done tonight and tomorrow, but will update when I can.

Hey there Holiday Humma’s!
Bouncing by really quick to go over some things I am seeing in the comments over and over. Take a peak below and see if these issues apply to you.
MISSING VEHICLES/CHARACTERS/BUILDINGS
As most of you know by now… the Battle Vehicles in the North Pole started going missing after completing a Raid on the nearby District. This glitch has also created some additional problems. ANY items left next to those Battle Districts started going too, this included Characters inside of the Vehicles during the Battle, Buildings, and Decorations.
TinyCo is very hard at work on getting this resolved. In the meantime here are a few steps you can take to help until the glitch is resolved.
- Move EVERYTHING away from the Districts in the North Pole. Do not have any Building or Decoration anywhere near Santa’s Village, Misfit Toy Camp, or Fake Tree Field Districts. It seems to impact those items really close to them, so move stuff away to other open areas.
- See if sending the Character missing on a “joint” task in Quahog will bring them back to the game again.
- Wait… right now there is NOTHING I can do to further help on this other than wait for word it’s fixed. I know this sucks, and it is a terrible glitch, but please remember I am here to HELP you. Keep that in mind if you are upset or angry and respect that this is still the Addicts site please. I am doing all I can, but abusive comments are uncalled for. Just saying.
MISSING CHRISTMAS CURTIS
I saw many reports from Players that they completed the Challenge and didn’t get a prize. Let me just clarify WHAT it is you won. A very small dog that is a Walking Decoration. There are some things you need to do to pull him in your game once you win him.
- Go to Quahog. You can’t access him in North Pole.
- Go to your Inventory Storage. (This is NOT the Shopping Cart Menu.)
- Go to your Decorations Tab. It is a Walking Decoration, so Decoration Tab is where you will find it.
- Tap on it to put it live into your Quahog. At this point, it will start to wander your streets just like any other Character walking around.
CRASHING
UPDATE 12/24 1AM EST: TinyCo pushed a patch earlier that should have resolved the Crashing issue for most players. However, there are still a few “rogue” devices being stubborn that will need a 2nd patch that’s already in the mix (from what I see this includes Galaxy Edge and a few more). Once patch #2 is tested and complete… they’ll push it live too. Until then… just keep hanging in there. I’ll try to note if I see anything back when it’s ready.
Many Players complained there was a lot of crashing in the game after the 1.15.5 update. Another patch went out last night to help with some of this. If you are still experiencing the crashing yourself, and are currently on the 1.15.5 Update on your device, please send me the following information.
- Device information
- When it started
- Crash time? (Can you log in at all? Or does crash on load screen?)
- Crash reported? (Did you already report it? If so, how? Email? Or through the report pop up that appears on the screen?)
BATTLES NOT PAYING OUT
For those of you that do still have game access to the Battles, I have seen reports of still getting Zero payouts. Here are a few things I could use help with when reporting this.
- Did your Character LEAVE the Battle before it was done creating the loss of payout?
If not,
- What Level of Vehicle are you currently on?
- What Level are the Buildings you are battling currently on? (Like yellow Santa’s Village, or describe the look of the Igloo, etc)
- What Characters are you sending?
- Do you see a payout listed prior to sending them on Battle?
This all will help me to clarify a little better the issues we are all going through. The more information, the more I can give accurate feedback.
ATTEMPTING TO ADD POINTS TO LOCKED CHARACTER
Sorry, I knew there was one more….
I have already reported the issue in the Nutcracker Truck Battles that is appearing now. When going to collect after the Battle, players are getting an odd message (that seems to hit more those that have NOT unlocked Snake, but seeing both) “attempting to add points to a locked character”.
If you are getting this message, please let me know
- When it happened in your game
- If force close & restart of device resolves it
- If you did NOT get your full payout due to it
- If you are also getting the issue of Missing Vehicles above.
In the meantime know they ARE aware of it and looking for a fix.
I am keeping an eye out for anything else out of the ordinary and will continue to do all that I can to help from my end. Again, remember I am NOT TinyCo… just Bunny of the Addicts… so yelling at me will only get your comment straight to the trash. I am here to HELP and I will do all I can in my power to do so. 😉
You all should know by now WHERE that anger can be directed and the ONLY post it will be allowed on. Let’s keep this post here to HELP get the issue resolved, not a screaming match of hatred. Screaming and hatred does not fix issues. Got it? 🙂

After getting the “attempting to add points to a locked character” message and losing Nutcracker Stewie as well as having Kevin disappear even tho he wasn’t unlocked yet along with not be able to clear the checks on the artificial tree district (truck locked in front of hangar with red x over it which kept crashing game everytime I tried to clear it), I tried your suggestion regarding moving buildings and decos away from the districts multiple times but no luck. It wasn’t until I moved only the buildings & stored some of the decos then force closed, then went back in a second time and moved just the truck hangar in front of the artificial tree district separately that it worked. When I went back in after doing that I was able to clear the red x over the truck stuck by the hanger. Both Stewie and Kevin returned and I was able to send Stewie back into that district to clear more trees. Thanks Bunny. If it wasn’t for you and this website I’dve quit this game long ago. TC should be paying you!!!!

For the attempting to add points to a locked character problem, I went into the character profiles part and selected the character that was giving me the problem and that seemed to fix it, I was able to clear him from his job and start a new one.

I just checked in my game, and all the problems I was having are gone.
Snake is back and the add points error is gone.
I am on Android, so the Android folks might want to check to see if their issues are gone.

Bunny, I know you are preaching patience and I respect and understand that, but has there been any indication that these battle vehicles will be able to be returned to our games at the same level they were when they left? I haven’t repurchased the humma because I am holding out hope that it will return leveled up to where it was. My naivete on how these games work and what all is involved has me hoping I will have my humma return at that level. But if I am going to need to repurchase because there is no way to return them that way, I would rather get started right away, especially since I am immediately affected by the Week three quest line requiring that it be leveled to nine (that will be next for me). I was that far (and think it was at least 12 or 13 because I was leveling all along), but I don’t want to have two in my game if my old one is returned to me and causes me further problems. Of course the craftable hangars seem to be more of an issue as we all have to just wait and hope they can return to our games in some fashion.
Any advice on the humma? Besides patience which I am doing, but with the Week four content dropped in our games I am wondering if I will ever see it especially if I wait and am losing time that could be spent leveling up which I am eventually going to have to do anyway. I just don’t know enough about the mechanics of all of this to know if it is even possible to have these returned where they were.

First and foremost is fixing the issue itself. Once the issue is fixed, then going forward the other items can be addressed.

I’d love to have my vehicles back at level 1 after finally grasping the event, keep them at a level where you can maximize upgrade tokens?
Before the bonus medals I was still in week 1 during week 3 content and somehow made the leaderboard top 1000.

Just a heads up. You can’t start over. At least not in my game. I purchased a new humma hangar and went to send all of the possible characters to battle and it results in zero rewards. It says before even sending them that it will destroy zero buildings and result in zero rewards. I sent them once anyway, just in case it maybe dropped something. But it didn’t. Do you get no rewards, can’t level up, etc. so even if you wanted to start over, you can’t. You just can’t do those battles at all anymore. But like I said, That’s how it’s happening in my game. Yours could be different.

Well, I had five minutes on the clock for the Week 2 Challenge and needed only one more Sarah Connor robot defeat and used clams for the the last one and Santa showed up and said good job and not reward and I looked everywhere for it and even in the area where it shows the final challenge prize it doesn’t say I completed it.

Same problem of Error can’t add points to a locked character and crashing after clicking on the school bus a forced restart doesn’t work and now Snake Stewie and Kevin are missing. I did not have Snake unlocked yet

As per your instructions here is the info on my issue. have the attempting to add points glitch and so does my sister on her game. It occurred when trying to collect from the nutcracker truck (with Kevin as the sole driver) I got the payout from 3 of the 4 check marks, clicking the 4th brings the error message so I can’t collect that one. Snake has also vanished even thoug he was still locked. The nutcracker bunker is still there but acts like a decoration when I try click it.

Add points to locked character error here. I haven’t unlocked Sarah Connor, but it looks like she got fed up waiting and decided to join the T-600 in a hovercraft attack of her own accord. I never saw or chose an option to have her join in the fight. Now the attack is over, the bug has appeared, and Sarah is nowhere to be found,

ATTEMPTING TO ADD POINTS TO LOCKED CHARACTER
When it happened in your game?
A few hours ago.
If force close & restart of device resolves it.
It has not so far.
If you did NOT get your full payout due to it.
I was only going to get paid out from the first two buildings. I was
able to collect them, but the game crashes if I try to clear the X.
If you are also getting the issue of Missing Vehicles above.
The vehicle is not missing, but it moved back to its “garage.”
Also, I cannot access Kevin because of this. All I have left on the weekly challenge is one Go Through the Drill with Kevin, so I need this resolved before my timer runs out in 24 hours.
In addition, Snake has disappeared. I tried to moving the Pine Tree Bunker, which wasn’t that close to any of the battle areas to begin with, but he has not returned. All I had left to get were the guns from the Affordable Elf Housing. I haven’t placed the Elf Housing yet.

I am in exact same situation, but i already get the affordable elf house, but Snake isnt there, um my case i defeat all trees, so isnt a X to tap, its a V (positive), but if i tap the last one too, the game crashes.

Was working on that snake dude it he went missing, also getting the error message about that locked character thing. Hope tinyco will fix those things.

Add me to the list of unlocked character. I had Kevin attacking the forest. Time was up. Tapped the 3rd check mark and got the message. At that time I noticed Snake was missing. But I noticed the window where you set up the attack popped up and Snake appeared as unlocked. It then disappeared.
Tried the forced close. No change. Prior to clearing the forest, it appears that some of the tasks to get items for Snake reached the needed number. I got Purple Hearts and the maps(?) and when I went to reassign those characters, the option for those items were no longer there.

Hi. I’m halocrashing. And I’m a glitch victim as well. Only had the 2 gun payout waiting to unlock Snake after work and he was missing by the time I looked into the North Pole war zone. Now I got Stewie and Kevin locked from use and Snake being Snake has Escaped from the North Pole. I hope TinyCo can find Snake and bring him back as he still has Christmas to save and I’m here dropping from the leaderboards with lack of medal options. But hey at least I got to keep my participation trophy.

I’m getting the message can’t add points to locked Character. After the update my game crashed repeatedly at the opening screen. Then I was able to get into the game, but my hovercraft and building are gone. I was able to get Sarah Connor and Peter out with tasks though. This morning Snake and Kevin were working and I sent Kevin to the tree farm. I do. It have Snake unlocked yet, his building is still there but Snake is gone. This afternoon Snake went missing and Kevin is stuck in the tree farm bus. So I can’t raid the toy land or tree farm and Snake and Kevin are missing.

It stopped notifiyng that someone finished a task, now it won’t pass the loading screen.

My unpatched game was working fine until around 11PM GMT, Kevin finished a vehicle attack and I got the ‘locked character’ error with the option to quit or send an email.
Force closed and restarted and noticed the unlocked Snake has disappeared, the vehicle is stuck outside the hangar with an X that only repeats the error.
Didn’t note the payout and everything else is functioning/ongoing.
I thought maybe a fix had been pushed so I installed the latest update but error persists.
I’m hoping to locate the source so I can drag everything towards the black hole and make the whole game disappear up it’s own assets.

My locked Snake just disappeared also. His bunker is still there and he shows up on the collection progress bar when somebody collects an item for him.
Kevin disappeared a few hours ago (after the update and after I collected from his second battle). The truck has an X on it and clicking it brings up the locked character message and then restarts the game. If I hit GO in a questline for Kevin, it takes me to the wonky truck with an X, so it must think he’s trapped inside that truck. Shades of the Halloween event and Meg’s friends tied up in car trunks….
Snakes bunker was as far away from battlefields as I could manage, but Kevin’s wonky truck followed its garage when I also moved that and was close to the bunker. The garage still shows another truck inside it, the wonky one originally stayed out closer to the nutcracker district but got lonely and is now outside its garage. All my characters at the North Pole are now trembling in fear. Who will be next?!?!

I think Stewie might be trapped inside the truck with Kevin. Stewie had just been wandering around with nothing to do. He’s at the North Pole, not in Quahog. He’s still in FaceSpace (Kevin is not). Tapping his FaceSpace page brings me to the wonky truck with an X and so does tapping GO from a questline– Peter pops up to say gotta do this before that, meaning Peter thinks Stewie is busy with a task but probably is done with it. There is no check mark visible.

Attempting to add point detailed info
-No snake yet. Or ever if I can’t earn more nuts
-force close and restart did nothing
-when it happened: after raid on tree camp with Kevin driving that was to result in 3/4 being destroyed. Instead of getting 3 check marks and an X I had 4 checkmarks. Clicking the far left on results in the error followed by a restart of the game. Was reseting progress of the other 3 check marks and the collecting and restarting attack of Sarah on toy camp over and over until doing them tasks, exiting the game, force closing it and restarting without clicking the far left checkmark.
– I believe I got full payout since I was able to clear 3 check marks, all I should have gotten.
– no missing vehicles for me YET. Just one i cant use anymore.

Same here. Snake disappeared, and when I tried to tap the X bubble on the tree lot, I get the “cannot add points” error. I can see Kevin’s portrait with a quest exclamation, but of course closing the error dialog resets the game. Tried the force close, and redownloading, with no change. Guess we’ll have to wait on Tiny.

When the new content showed up, it unblocked Kevin and made Snake appear. So if the two aren’t related, Tiny is getting it fixed somehow!

Another glitch? I am now watching my 11th video for free clams. It just keeps asking me if I want to watch another. So far the only way to end this is to click on “awesome”. In total I just collected 13 clams. Probably be taken away unless this is to make up for all the bugs. Hmmmmmm

Thanks for the helpful post, I’ve now moved all my buildings away from those areas to where I feel is a good distance from those districts, but just a quick question, I haven’t updated my game to the latest version due to reading the posts about items going missing from people’s games after they updated, and I didn’t want to risk losing any of my buildings, do you think it’s best to wait until Tiny Co have fixed the glitch, or should I go ahead and update it?

Updating now really may only impact iOS (some devices crashing). The disappearing was more the “too close” buildings.

I seem to be affected by the “add points to a locked character” glitch at the moment. I first noticed about ten or fifteen minutes ago, which was the first time I logged into the game today. I closed out the app and tried a reboot with no success. It seems that Snake is the culprit as he is missing from in front of his building (I am almost done unlocking him), however when the error message pops up he reappears (though obviously I can’t click on him) and the lock is bouncing, signalling that I’ve gathered enough of one of his items. I can’t comment on whether or not I got the full payout from the battle but I did collect from 3 of the 4 buildings and could use the chestnuts to exchange for presents with no issues. Everything else in my game appears to be working fine, including the other battles. Hopefully TinyCo can get a fix out before they shut down for the holiday. Thanks Bunny for taking time away from your holidays to help all us addicts out. It may not seem like it at times but everything you do is really truly appreciated.

Looks like it’s all going pear shaped…
Lost the hovercraft yesterday, but tonight I have now lost snake, who wasn’t even unlocked… Only had the two guns left… But he has gone entirely, and he was no where near any of the battle areas…
I also got around 40 clams from watching the ads… It just kept repeating the same three… This was a nice glitch! 👍

I have another glitch that I haven’t seen mentioned yet. My regular Stewie is being drug into my nutcracker battles now. I haven’t purchased nutcracker Stewie. I’ve started battles with just Kevin but then Stewie shows up 🙂 Hasn’t affected payouts either way though.

Regarding the payout to locked character issue:
Started as soon as I could get back into the game. I had the crash during loading issue.
Force close and restart does not resolve.
Got full payouts before tapping on the red x.
No vehicles missing but Kevin and Stewie are locked in the truck. Did not have the Stewie x-mas skin nor was Stewie doing any event related tasks. Snake and his collection balloons are no longer visible.

I’m currently having a clam fest and I’m not sure if it’s a bug or not. So far, I’ve watched about 15 videos from Mort and he’s given me a clam every time. And it keeps giving me videos and clams, one after another. The max I think I’ve ever had until now was maybe 3.

I got the error about adding points. It happened after Kevin battled the Fake Tree Field. Force closing and restarting didn’t fix it. I originally got the pay out, but after going back in when it crashed, the payout was gone. All of the other battles and vehicles are working fine.
As you mentioned, I don’t have Snake unlocked and he now disappeared.
Hope this gives you a little info.

Finished a previously started battle and didn’t get any reward but characters didn’t lock but I don’t think I’ll try another till its fixed. On the challange I did complete it, found and placed the dog but it doesn’t show as completing week 2 on the challange page for the grand prize. Forwarded that on to tiny co also to see if that might offer any insight

I have been getting the “attempting to add points to a locked character” error. I had sent kevin swanson to drive the nutcracker truck battle. When the battle finished i tapped on the checkmarks to collect the payouts and then the X to reset the battle. I got the error at this point. I then realised that snake plissken (who i was working on unlocking) has vanished from the pinetree bunker but i am still able to send characters on missions to collect the items to unlock him. I tried to force close and restart the game which had no effect. Also updating the game did not fix the issue. I do not appear to be effected by the missing vehicles glitches at this time.

I get the message attempting to add locked points to a character when clicking on the vehicle kevin uses for battel. I have now lost Peter, access to Snake who I am collecting items for, kevin, and access to battel the 3rd district.
I tried closing and reopening with no luck. This will purse back as I can not do style in district 3, nor can I use Peter to battel in either district 1 or 2 not can I finish unlocking snake.
Please advise how to proceed.

I ‘only’ got the ‘attempting to add points to a locked character” glitch so far, see below my info:
When it happened in your game: after completing the aluminium tree battle with Kevin in a level 4 truck. Snake still needed the handguns and the Kevin task but all other materials were complete for him.
If force close & restart of device resolves it: no.
If you did NOT get your full payout due to it: I was able to clear two trees and got two chestnuts plus medals plus wreaths but not the third one as that is the one that causes the error message.
If you are also getting the issue of Missing Vehicles above: yes, Kevin and Snake have disappeared and because I cannot clear the third building I also cannot restart the attack task. The truck hangar is still there but nothing happens when I click on it. Kevin’s quest line is also still there but clicking on it doesn’t do anything. Everything else still seems to work fine incl. completing and restarting the Santa village attack task.

Hey Bunny! I’m so happy this website is up and running with information we really need. If it weren’t I’d be sitting here scratching my head waiting for days to hear from TinyCo while watching all my goodly gotten gains slowly drip away. At least I know I’m not alone and that helps alot.

I do not have Snake, but was working on getting him.
When it happened in your game: I was clearing out the Fake Tree Field. One building showed it was finished. another had an X on it like I was done, but did not destroy the last building.

If you did NOT get your full payout due to it: Not 100 percent certain, but I do not think so. Kevin should have hit up 3 buildings, leaving the forth. I collected once, but was not sure what I got or what I should have gotten.
If you are also getting the issue of Missing Vehicles above: Kevn’s Fake Tree Field truck is not missing. It sat in the field for a couple of clicks and automatcis reloads with a big X on it. Then it end up in front of it’s “garage” parked with a big X over it.
Snake is GONE from my game, but the characters still appear to be able to collect items for him.

Hi! Awesome site! Thanks for all of the helpful info. I’m getting the error message about trying to add points to a locked character. I have not unlocked Snake and it’s happening after I sent Kevin to battle. There’s an ‘X’ over the truck and message appears when tapping the ‘X’. The force close and restart doesn’t fix the issue. I have contacted Tiny co. about it too.
I am unsure about the payout yet. I don’t see Snake with the lock above him anymore neither.

I just got the odd message while trying to collect from the fake tree field.
It did restart my game upon getting the message.
I had one vehicle disappear yesterday morning.
I’m not sure if I got the full payout or not as I’m leaving it be for now.
Thanks for keeping us all updated! I hope they restart that 48 hour timer lol. So close but it makes it hard when you can’t battle because your vehicle is gone lol.

Hi bunny. Thanks for all of your help and happy holiday!!! I am getting that ” add points to a locked character” issue. It it’s on the last check mark for the battle so kevin its stuck. I have not unlocked snake. I messaged tinyco from my game.
Also, I am noticing characters (peter) that are available for two battle areas being moved mid battle. I started Santa on a battle alone. About 30 min later peter was fine in the second battle area. When I hit the check marks to release him, the vehicle went back, I recorded no payout and peter was suddenly in a double battle on the first area with Santa. Hmmmm

I am getting the “attempting to add points to a locked character” error. After completing a Nutcracker Truck Battle, I had 4 check marks. I click on three of them successfully, but when I click the fourth, I get the above error, and the game resets. I have tried this a few times.
Now I just leave the last check mark alone, but that means no rewards or progress. I have also noticed that Snake has disappeared. He was last in the game trying to be unlocked, even though I can still collect stuff for him.
I have advised TinyCo.

TinyCo have also responded to me to say they are working on it. Meanwhile I’ll continue collecting Snake materials, even though he’s off on a bender somewhere…

yep, I lost Kevin (locked out). I was able to collect on three of the check marks but when I would collect on the fourth that is when the window popped up stating locked character. I did receive full payout on those first three. Force restart did not work, I messaged TinyCo, and then noticed I lost Snake although I have not unlocked him. No missing vehicles….yet. Oh well, just wait it out. Thanks for the heads up.

Just got the same issue and reported it to them via the email function in the error box with Consuela. Just got a reply from Kelly from TinyCo as follows:
“Thanks for sending this in. Our engineers are currently investigating this error and are working on a fix.
We’ll keep you updated with any changes by responding to this ticket. Thank you so much for your patience in the meantime!”

The Engineers hope to have the patch about fixed soon for the Attempting to add points.

I have both issues. I can’t complete the tree lot battle because I am getting the cannot add points error when I try to collect and I also have the issue with Snake missing from the game, but I am still able to collect the items I need for him.
