The newest Mini Event is now live in our games. Return to Jolly Farm.

EVENT ENDS THURSDAY MAY 12TH @3PM PACIFIC

Back with more in a bit.

First up, the Basics

  • Players will need to have at LEAST District 3 Unlocked and Al’s completed
  • Players will only see this on the Mobile App Version (iOS, Google, Amazon, Facebook). NOT Windows Stand Alone
  • PLAY THE GAME! Items unlock in stages and as you progress, so if you do not see an item it is most likely you have not progressed far enough in the Main Questline to unlock it. Check details below for more specifics on unlock points
  • Don’t have a TON of Tasks open in your Task Menu. If you have too many open, no new ones can arrive. (Keep it under 10). If you do not see new Tasks popping up, clear out some incomplete Tasks already on your List to make room for more

SIDE NOTE: With MULTIPLE items all using up the Fan Letters as well as Flower Crowns, ensure you use them appropriately and apply them towards the correct items first. For instance if you take them and apply them to Penelope, you will still need to replenish them for Maggie.

+1 Flower CrownFlower Crown (Rare, however out of the 25 I cleared I got 10 Flower Crowns)

Spawn Time: After a few hours… it does seem like I am getting around 5 per hour. Let me know what you see in your game. In short… I do not think there will be any issues getting plenty of them. I am not sure what the MAX is in town (will update if one is noted), so try to clear them whenever possible so you don’t miss any.

I also am now to 56 Fan Kids and out of the 56, 24 of them dropped the Flower Crowns. Seems pretty good odds for being a “Rare” drop.

APP MARKET UPDATE- INVENTORY OPTIONS

***UPDATE ***

TinyCo confirmed this is in testing. Only a select few Players will see it for now. Once complete, all players will get access to the new feature.

Just a quick FYI, there is an App Update in the Markets (at least it’s hit iOS and Google Play, let me know if you see it Amazon Users). Version 1.22.0 dated today.

There does not seem to be anything significant that I can see, but I am still waiting for verification. I assume more patch and Event removal cleanup for Boomsday.

I take that back… there IS new stuff. Specifically with the Inventory. More in just a bit.

Filter Icon

There is a REALLY Cool New Option for you Inventories now. The “Filter” option. You can tap on the Filter Icon while in the Inventory Storage and actually see items specified on Recently Placed OR Events.

Once you select that Filter Option, you can then further tap on the All, Characters, Buildings, Decorations… and it will ONLY show the items you filtered it for.

There is also the “Keep it Stashed” option. This is where the “Recent” comes in. It will pull up items you JUST tucked into Inventory.

This should help you to locate some items a bit easier. I am still personally playing around with it. Thanks TinyCo! More on this in another upcoming post.

Overall, a really basic Mini Event. I will update a few more items, but that is the cut and dry of it.

What do you think so far of the lil Mini Event? Interested in the New Characters? Any tips for fellow Players? Let us know.

I’ve contacted them in my game and they said they can’t do nothing because there isn’t evidence of a bug and they are afraid they don’t have a record of the lost currency… :/

  9. An additional feature that would be useful to me would be a list of all of the characters on tasks, how long they’ve got left, and what they’re hoping to achieve. The number of times that I’ve been looking for a character to start a task, only to find that they’re locked up doing something else, but I don’t know what or how long it will take.

    • Really? Because clicking on the new task simply brings me to the character and shows me how long they have left doing their current task…?

Not a huge fan of spending 4-6 weeks on the same theme it gets quite boring. Hoping to see more week long events including the return of the griffin dogs to complete that set from a few months ago.

  13. So far a relatively relaxed mini-event, it all seems doable within a week: just started building the Revue Studio for Mother Maggie, considering I don’t have all items for Penelope yet I gave prio to the Silo and the Studio.

Have 3/7 Warheads, 8/20 Dolls, 7/9 Treatments, 9/12 Tomes, done with the Flower Crowns on Penelope and have 32/120 on Maggie. Being about 1/4th into the event it seems very unlikely items for the characters are going to be a major hassle. Getting all decorations might require the JF Barn but honestly I don’t care as much.

Doll drops for me have been ridiculous. have two characters working 6 and 8 hour tasks for “rare” warheads. Have 3 of 7 so far. Nice. have 3 characters working basically same timed tasks for “common” dolls. have 3 of 20 so far. Might need an adjustment if I’m going to get Penelope before ‘event’ end. Little ‘events’ are fine. personally I am happy if they have me trying for characters at any given time.

As for filters, don’t like it that it puts me in construction mode when selecting filters. also think that when I get out of inventory and then get back in it shouldn’t be in filter mode(though it doesn’t keep me in construction mode when I get out. minor complains though, don’t deal with inventory a lot.

I started playing this game right before the first Star Trek event. (So a little over a year now) Just curious, this event is called RETURN to Jolly Farm. Did they all ready do a Jolly Farm event? Did people earn Stewie’s costume for free? Doesn’t make much of a difference to how this is played, but the wording made me wonder.

Bunny, could you please elaborate on your advice to be careful / use the fan letters, etc., “wisely?” Which character or building do *you* think deserves primary emphasis?

    Like

    • Because some may use them for decorations or other “extras” offered. I’d suggest full focus on the characters and their buildings first.

Secondly, if you have everything for …let’s say Penelope but tap the Check Mark on the letters to give them all to miss Maggie, that wouldn’t be smart. Unlock the easier character first.

      Make sense?

      Like

    • I got caught on this in the North Pole event, when a couple of the same items were being collected for two different characters. I wanted to unlock one character first and was almost ready to do so, but mindlessly tapped the bubble for the collected item for the other character who wasn’t otherwise close to unlocking. Put me back a day…

My sad experience taught me that the bubbles will give you the numbers according to the total already collected in the game, assuming you give them all to that character. So if both characters show 100 thingies collected, you only have a total of 100 thingies (not 200). Hence the cautionary note. Also in this case a warning to hold off on other purchases with the thingies, er, fan letters.

    • They help… I’m just saying it’s not like there’s a lot coming in. Heck even if it’s $50 a month it’s helps. I’ll take it. Lol

I see it all the time people assume others are getting “rich” off ads if they’re on a site when in reality… that’s not accurate. Just wanted to clear that bit up.

I’m the kind of person that believes in paying it forward. I wouldn’t feel right asking others for money as I know this is an escape for many and there are so many others out there struggling that need real help in the world. I love helping others. It’s who I am. What I do.

So thank you. Appreciate the offer. Just enjoy the site is all I ask. 🙂

      • Wow, Bunny, thanks for the explanation as to how you manage to provide such detailed and timely information on the events as they happen…I just assumed that TinyCo was financing your site one way or another, so to find out that, while they do provide some limited assistance in the main game, your and your team operate in the red in general was pretty surprising. I’m not sure I would enjoy this game as much as I do were it not for the ability to come to your site in almost real time to see what lays ahead and try to formulate a plan…

Being newish to the game, I certainly paid for and used clams for the WWE and Boomsday but have adopted the same philosophy you expounded, namely, it’s more fun to earn when you can. As much as it hurt, I resisted the urge to spring for the last plutonium for Stewie during Boomsday as I knew it would be a matter of time (or scooting, as it turned out) before it appeared. It took a while, but it eventually appeared.

I totally agree with you – I make OK money, I enjoy this game immensely, so for me to throw $20 a week or so for additional clams during a big event is simply part of my entertainment budget. My wife and I go out to eat once a week or so, generally not fancy or expensive, but we can because we enjoy it and it’s fun. It’s the same for this. Half of the fun for me is playing the game to unlock ‘standard’ characters, the other is playing in the events to get special ones and deciding when to use the clams for the greatest return. That doesn’t mean (for me) throwing clams at every character and limited quest line, but being more willing to spend when I know it’s limited and I’m enjoying the game.

I would hope TinyCo appreciates the work you and your team do – this site is an incredible, low cost (to them) advertisement for the game and provides a great service to a lot of players. (Hear that, TinyCo? Cough, cough, ahem, maybe you could throw our dear Bunny a few more clams per month for all the work she does…just a thought…)

And I turned off my ad blocker for this site…thanks for all you guys do!

        • To be honest… I think TinyCo helps just the right amount with Clams. Any more and I’d probably feel “obligated” to them if that makes sense. This is Addicts Site end of the day and I’d prefer it kept that feeling. I prefer us to stay us. They’ve been great so far in communication with me and always keep an open ear… even if we disagree. I think that overall is great from a business stand point. 🙂

  21. Hi. Ive noticed you suggest we “clear our quests” pretty often. Do you mean do the tasks and complete it to clear them or is there some way to just delete them? I have a lot of quests still up from old events and i cant complete them. So could i just delete them?

  22. Hey Bunny, just curious how many clams you end up spending in a big event like Boomsday or these smaller events. I feel like I spent a ton of clams, but never feel I got close to getting to the end of the event. I must be doing something wrong…. Do you buy all the buildings that give extra drops and the characters or pick and choose and just play the game 24/7?

    Like

    • My test game… average of 5 to 10 thousand Clams for smaller events. 20 to 30 thousand for larger. It all really depends. It’s more that I get everything I can to report it on the site. Plus speeding tasks you normally wouldn’t or testing drops from locations players normally wouldnt. So it really is all for testing.

Personal game… I try to play using Clams ONLY on Characters I really want. I rarely waste them on buildings or decorations. So that varies greatly event by event. A few hundred can be common.

I look at it this way, it’s like paying to see a good movie. I’ll pay $10 to see a movie, but may splurge and pay $15 to 20$ to see a really awesome movie in IMAX, 3D, DBOX, etc. It’s all really personal taste.

My motto is this…ask yourself the following:
3 months from now, will you still want that item? Still be happy with that Character? Was it worth it to YOU?

      Like

      • Ok that makes sense. I assume on your test game, you either get special support from TinyCo to provide this info or use ad revenue to help get all the items to provide us all this information? That can be quite expensive if you are doing it all on your own for the test game ha ha.

I have been limiting my clams to characters I really want, same with my wife so we will just keep doing it this way. Sounds like unless you go all out and spend TONS of money in our own games, you won’t get everything.

Thank you for your time and effort into this site for us! I do many websites myself for the community, so I understand the time that goes into this for us and really appreciate it.

        Like

        • You don’t have to spend tons. My “freemium ” game I play just to play and enjoy it. Things I bought with clams… most clams were free or earned in some way. Honestly having it all instantly and Clam bought loses excitement for the game. I prefer hard earned myself. I know I accomplished getting them in my own. I don’t need or want it all.

Clams, Free Clams, and MORE Clams!

For the first 18+ months… ALL Clams bought out of our pockets for multiple games on multiple devices. Cost was insane. Then TinyCo offered some assistance. Which helps. I still buy Clams myself out of my pocket due to the supposed “ad revenue” is literally pennies and Clams get used quickly. That and I use multiple test games that need clams replenished. TinyCo only helps with the one main game.

Ads…well.. Most people use ad blockers now a days so that doesn’t impact anything… and ads they don’t pay that much on blogs so when there is an ad view… still not really anything. Essentially, we are in the red year after year for the site.

The information…98% is honestly just me playing the game to pull info, stats, and test for accuracy. The rest I pull TinyCo FAQ that’s also on their site and in game but still verify it myself. Things not found or published I ask them for help/verification and they provide what they can… but as a business they still keep things private and I respect that… so testing in my games helps get those answers not given to public.

No worries though. I continue to do this site out of the idea of helping others. If we did it to just get $$$, I’d have shut it down a long time ago as it costs us. When I feel that my help is no longer worth the time, money, and effort… I’ll stop.

          Like

          • Thank you for the insight! I definitely understand about the ad revenue HA HA. My sites used to pull in a bit to help me pay server and domain costs, but is now lower than I spend. I still need to pay for the server for my wife’s crochet business, so for now the sites stay up and people enjoy them.

Thanks again for being so open about your process. I totally understand about working for the items in the game. I have way too many xbox games and it sort of looses its appeal when you have too much. It would be the same case for this game. If you just have all the clams and buy everything, the game will lose its appeal and will become stale.

I check your site often for advice and help on events, but never written a comment until now. Just wanted to clear up a few questions I had.

      • Figured it out – 10 kids from the barn each 12 hours once you get it; 5 kids per hour for regular drop (I think you can have more than 10 kids running around so no having to log on every hour to get the kids). That’s 140 letters per day; 780 total for the entire week. Using letters for characters, buildings and decorations totals 790 letters. I used clams for the buildings to get an earlier start for barn drops, so I should be able to get all the decos.

      • Yes, just updated and it’s still free. iOS 8.

Also I don’t see the funnel filter icon in inventory. I see a ribbon with All underlined at the upper left and the strip for all, characters, buildings, decos as in the store (underneath the strip of larger pics for the inventory contents). If I tap the All ribbon at the upper left, I get tossed out of inventory and a building in my game is selected and the store it icon appears under it (as is normal when you’ve deliberately selected something). But I’ve really not seeing what you described with the funnel icon. I always hard close and also tried powering down the phone.

The categories I do see are helpful, though. Could have used it an hour ago when making some rearrangements… Maybe it just needs a shakedown cruise to show all the options for everyone. I’m not going to bother reporting it since they actually haven’t said anything in my game about it yet, so it may not be complete in all games. You might just be one of the beta test bunnies. But keep your bunny ears perked if others report the same experience.

Peter may trigger the tasks to show people how to use the new features, but I doubt that he triggers the actual change in the inventory. So once it’s out of the testing phase, we should be able to see all the features just by going straight to the inventory. They will push the change to all our games or include it in an app update. The tasks are just a training exercise. Your detailed more recent post on the new inventory should be very helpful then. It sounds splendid, they’ve incorporated all the features I myself would have wanted.

    • Honestly, this is only a week long mini so the Questlines won’t really make a massive impact… but they do tend to help you focus on what to get next.

  39. Anybody know why Mike Myers can’t be sent to Tan Lines?

    • I noted it in the Feedback post. Many are due to they are used for other things in the game. Whether past, current, or coming. So they won’t go there to avoid conflict.

    • I have several characters I can’t put into Tan Lines: Meg, Connie, Adam West, Jake Tucker, Cleveland, Carter and Seamus. Makes it impossible to fill the 2nd floor with so many characters I can’t put in there.

      • That is due to all those are used to collect Keys to unlock the floors.

        • Except for Jake Tucker. He isn’t used for keys and wasn’t used for the apocalypse event. I actually had Jake in the resort. Once the Apocalypse event started the game pulled him out, so I assumed he would turn mutant or be used for the event or TP, however he wasn’t. Not quite sure why he was able to be placed in there until then, but now can’t be. I can place Herbert in the resort though and he was a usable character for last event and this new one, so clearly whether or not they’re used for an event has no bearing on tan lines use based on both situations.

          • Like I said many times in comments and in the Feedback post, their use may not be IMMEDIATELY known… but they will have a purpose/reason as to why they are not in there. It does not mean it’s ONLY Event usage. Not to mention those are the exact words straight from TinyCo. 😉

            • Looks like the update for the storage sorting changed some things at Tan Lines too. Some characters I couldn’t send during Boomtown can be sent there now.

  40. Update in iOS. Maybe clearing some of the old or prep for a new event in a week?

  41. My device is still having the error “Duplicate download:” followed by the URL of the image file. This happens whenever I first access items on my device and try to place it. I cleared my cache and the error pops up when re-loading my Quahog. This has been going on since the start of the Boomsday event.

Quick question: Is it the same Penelope from the episode “Mr. and Mrs. Stewie”?

  45. I noticed this when the grass showed up that Naked Bill Clinton will give gingerbread cookies when performing a sax solo. I’m glad it’s here. A funny episode.

  46. Other then the fact that a lot of stuff is not showing up at all, this is cool (ROFL). I can’t get mad about it because I can’t stop laughing. I hope it’s just me and not happening to everyone else.

    • Can you email me and be more specific about “a lot of stuff not showing up at all”?

      Like

      • It was funny. #1 the top two boxes where it shows the quests were blank, #2 the things we’re supposed to click to get fan mail weren’t there even though I could click them, and #3 when the new character showed up, it had the circles with nothing in them where we’re supposed to see what and how many we’re supposed to get.

Anyway, it got updated since then and now the game won’t load at all “data error when loading game”. Sent an email to Tinyco. They’ll fix it (eventually, LOL).

        Have a great day!

  48. Woah, Penelope! One of the best of the minor characters in FG imo, I really enjoyed ‘Mr. and Mrs. Stewie’. Don’t care as much for Mother Maggie, so full focus on Penelope in this event :).

    • You don’t have to participate in any event. The mini events are usually a tad easier to ignore. Those mutants in the long event got in the way of doing the daily for Tanlines, for instance, and we had to put up with broken roads, egg piles, and hordes of mutants regardless. Just like in real life when they decide to yet again tear up roads or sidewalks in my neighborhood.

If I weren’t interested in unlocking anything in the Jolly Farm eventlet, I would just poof the fans for fun and to get the little buggers out of my way but ignore the rest of it, maybe buying anything I liked the look of for coins or fan letters. This event seems easily ignorable, just go ahead and work on anything long term you’re doing and don’t set tasks to pick up materials for the Jolly Farm folk.

  50. Doesn’t look too interesting. I guess it’s only a one week place holder until the next event.
