Hey there Superheroes!!!!
It seems that TinyCo dropped the Phase 2 of the Event yesterday, kind of. It seems some of it is not quite functioning the way it is supposed to be. I am still waiting for verification from TinyCo of what is going on.
In the meantime, I am playing through the game and see just what I can pull from the game as far as stats.
First up, the Basics
- Players will need to complete week one main Questline to part 10
- Players will need to have at LEAST District 3 Unlocked and Al’s completed
- You will need to be on App Market Version 1.27.1/1.27.2 in order to see the full content
- Players will only see this on the Mobile App Version (iOS, Google, Amazon, Facebook). NOT Windows Stand Alone
- PLAY THE GAME! Items unlock in stages and as you progress, so if you do not see an item it is most likely you have not progressed far enough in the Main Questline to unlock it. Check details below for more specifics on unlock points
- Don’t have a TON of Tasks open in your Task Menu. If you have too many open, no new ones can arrive. (Keep it under 10). If you do not see new Tasks popping up, clear out some incomplete Tasks already on your List to make room for more

UPDATE 7/29/16: Per TinyCo, in order to ensure Players progress… those in Pt. 1 and trigger Crocs, they will ALWAYS drop Jewels until you clear the Task that needs Jewels, then they will go back to RARE setting. Bane ALWAYS drop them after he is completely defeated. For those that did not trigger this option for Crocs to get the better drops, a separate quick Questline will show up asking you to clear a Croc so you can get some drops too.

You will now notice a Repair Hammer by the Asylum. Tapping on it will pop up the request to repair the Gates for $1000. It is an instant repair. WARNING: Repairing the Gates WILL pop up Aquaman in a cage in front of it to collect items for. This also starts his 7 DAY TIMER.
PARKING GARAGE
Here is what you can see your Spawn time for the next Villian (like the Super Villian and Killer Crocs). It is also what you can see upcoming for the next Phase and what will be required to move into the next Phase.
Phase 3 will require you to be to Power Level 8
BATTLE THUG
You will find a very detailed post on the Battles HERE.
This will not trigger until you start Fight or Flight Pt. 3 You will then see a Thug wandering your street. Tapping on him will bring up the “Defeat the Villian” screen.
In order to Battle, you will need to pick a Character. Tap on the + over the Character Shadow to pick one. Yes, you’ll see TWO spots… but that’s for higher leveled Thugs. You only need ONE to Fight.
THUG: 2+ Strength
Battle Characters (as of Phase 1): Your Characters will need to be FULL BAR STRENGTH to battle. If they are not, you can’t. If you tap on them to “HEAL” them, it will tell you how much time you have to wait til they are fully healed… or the Clam options to fill up the Bars you need

I’m at a total standstill for two days. Stuck on part two. Got the red bag of jewels on my first croc on Wednesday. ZERO jewel bags since! I can’t trade in for kryptonite without the jewels. Which means I can’t pass part 2. Can’t get the jewels. And can’t get Bane until I finish part two. I am STUCK. This has the potential to be a good event, but right now I am about to stop playing. If I miss getting aquaman because of a glitch, I won’t be very happy. Thanks for all the help Bunny. I know you work hard to help us.

So I need to buy kryptonite to get past step 2 of week two. And I need a minimum of 5 bags of jewels to get kryptonite. Cant get jewels with bane until step 3 of week 2. crocs are rare dropping single bags of jewels which are invisible no less. I’m assuming that the only way to check for success is to go to the kryptonite store. Still 0 of 5 on the jewels. I’m am glad though of this site because I wouldn’t know any of this from TinyCo’s non-information. It is good to know all is hopeless otherwise I would go through most of august without a clue. thanks to bunny and all the users.

There is always a “buy out” option. Just tap on the lock icon in his bubbles and it will tell you the buy out option. Or tap on each one to get individual buy outs. FYI… it’s usually around 1000 Clams to start and lowers as you earn items

This is frustrating. I’ve cleared 7 crocs and not one sack of jewels. I’ve also had 4 completed Bonnie or Joe actions for a ‘common’ reward with nothing. I haven’t seen Bane. Just getting absolutely nowhere. I’ve always wondered if the game secretly penalises you by being a freebee but I bought Superman so just lost as to what to do.
Annoying as I’m clearly no chance to get Aquaman. Haven’t even been given the chance to build Catwoman Lois.

So annoyed that I saved my sacks of cash (over 300) and now can’t spend them on kryptonite in phase 2 because jewels are such a rare drop. Aquaman countdown timer is counting and everything is so slow. Trying desperately to unlock bane so I can catch up but doubt I will be able too. Tiny Co. really need to fix this and do something to help those of us who got screwed by the lack of drops.
Being able to buy kryptonite with just cash again would be a really good help, for those of us who have loads saved up. And something to help up get back on track.

I will suggest what I do every event, do NOT hoard the exchange item. If anything, trade it all and hoard the actual currency aka Kryptonite. As soon as a new exchange hits, the prior phase becomes less used as main trade option. Hope that helps next round. 🙂

in my opinion, daily planet should have the option to trade only sack of cash for kryptonire, like in week 1. since sack of jewel is so hard to get.

A little upset, i splurged and got some clams to get batman and come to find out you cant use him to fight battles? Why not, he beat superman didn’t he lol. It just seems like i got ripped off. And at least it should have come with stewie robin instead of a chance on a mystery box : ( .Happy gaming everyone.

Please explain to me how stupid I’m being:
Bane = 7 bars
Assuming we’ve only got Wonderwoman and Superhero Peter at this stage as freemium players, because we need Bane to get Aquaman and Catwoman Lois:
Wonderwoman = 4 bars
SHPeter = 2 bars
TOTAL = 6 bars
How to defeat Bane when he is always going to be stronger? Is this even a possibility?

Short story long MORE than one Battle on same Villian. Damage them low, heal, fight them again now they are low and win. So 2 Battles with 2 Characters, then when 3rd unlocked it will go faster. 😉

I’ve just learned that you’ll need Aquaman for Pt. 8 of the main quest. What happens if you don’t unlock him in time, will you be stuck in week 2 in this case? Just wondering.

FYI… was just informed there are TWO parts to this Questline. 1 for those that get him, and 1 for those that do not. So no worries at all… you will not get stuck if he does not appear. 😉

Well… in the Comic Book world… is he REALLY “key”? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Sorry, I have seen too many comics about how much “worth” he has. Lol.
Many times the timed Characters I view as “Premium”. Just like the timed items in the Craft areas. Just ask yourself, is he REALLY worth it?

I called him a key, because i saw him as a requirement for the main quest at first. Luckily he isn’t, but I’m gonna try my luck anyway. Otherwise he will be rotting in that cage. 😁

I don’t buy the explanation with the visual error when some got none in 10 or more attempts and others got one every single time in just as many attempts. That is not just a matter of luck.
And no doubt the ones who got every time will have gotten a big advantage out of it.

Thanjs for all the useful info Bunny.
TC have confirmed that the killer croc drop was a visual issue, it is now showing as chance of one. And it is *chance* bases on my early attempts, about one in 3 for me. Looks next to impossible to progress through the Wayne Tower items based on your kryptonite exchange rates posted. Even if the croc bait drops were always plus the lost city (every 8 hours) that would be 15 bait per 24 hours. At my current 1 in 3 return in jewels that makes five jewels per day, assuming I don’t sleep!
It looks like fremium players are completely stalled – haven’t done the maths on rushing the croc bait jobs and also one of the Wayne Tower items pays out croc bait. Still I think the point is valid unless TC change the layout to 10 on killer croc – even 5 would still be challenging.

Yep, that’s my situation. I have hundreds of cash, but jewels aren’t dropping at all (neither are starfish). So I can’t get kryptonite and I can’t unlock anything. I’m lucky to get 1-2 bait per day… and with ridiculously rare drop rates I’m completely stuck.

Messaged tiny Co about crocsbdrop rate, had a reply saying visual bug. Now he says rare chance of 1 bag of gems. Grrrr. That wasnt the fix I hoped for.

To top that Bonnie and Joe seem to be dropping bait half the time. So that’s two uncommon chances every four hours for two rare chances, which you must successfully complete five to nine times to get half to a third of the kryptonie you need for one building. The odds are just too great; Aquaman’s deaf in the water along with any chance of keeping up with the weekly features.
Bane takes Peter and Wonder Woman two fights, wirth WW needing nine hours to heal, so that’s eight pills and one fight per day. Bane’s drop is listed as ‘chance’ so I’ll find out if anything drops from him soon.
And I was originally worried about getting fifteen rate starfish for Aquaman. After a good start this second week’s a disaster.

I started phase 2 on Thursday. Triggered Aquaman and crocs. Always get either 1 sack of jewels or POW and no starfish, instead of 10 sacks as shown. Wrote to Tinyco and not long after i saw chance of items changed to 1 sack of jewels or starfish. Wtd?
Mathematically based on Bunny’s breakdown above for kryptonite echanges for phase 2, there is no way you can accumulate enough jewels to get all the necessary prizes in time for Aquaman as a freemium player. Enjoyed Phase 1 but this latest phase has me feeling aggrieved. Any strategy or advice to get enough jewels for kryptonite and hence Aquaman which I missed in my analysis?

Bane. Once to him odds are better of jewels. I’m still giving feedback on this to them and the standstill for players. Will continue to. Suggest all impacted do the same, even if no replies.

Thanks for staying up late to reply! Yes, clearing Bane is the way to get more jewels. I cleared him once and for 20 sacks. But payout for next round of kryptonite is ridiculously high. I have also not seen Bane for almost 8 hours. Not sure of his spawn time. At least reading so many similar rants about Phase 2 keeps me sane and I’m not alone.
Let’s just keep sending our feedback and hope Tiny Co can relent and change the payout or make it easier. Sigh.

First time I battled bane it took about 10 hours, then I battled him this morning and he popped up right away – but I need to wait 9 hours to heal. I’m using super Peter, Wonder Woman and batman to battle bane each time. Which is fine they get more vitamins to fight. So bane is the way – as long as he drops 20 sacks each time – which he did the first 2 tries. I have 9 kryptonite for two face coin headquarters and 5 plus days for aquaman. Usually I can get 8-10 kryptonite after clearing bane. So if you can kill bane twice a day you can get 16-20 per day and I should get cat woman in about 3 days…I’ll skip the bat cave deco and just get as much kryptonite as possible

OH my glob, so crash heavy! I’ve updated to the latest version and practically uninstalled every nonessential app on my IPad and yet I keep crashing when in under a minute. Both the iPad and the game are updated, did a forced shutdown and reboot and still it glitches. Every time I try to cash in my loot for kryptonite or kryptonite for prizes I lock, black screen, get booted out but instead of booting back in time see progress I’m seeing currency spent but no sign of my items and no tallied off item either. 3 hours just to force the game to accept I don’t blocked was Nader woman seems to be a tad ridiculous at this point. I also double checked inventory repeatedly to make sure the items didn’t land there and big surprise they didn’t but my currency certainly must have traveled to earth 2 as I don’t see it. Really wanted this to be an awesome event and instead I’ll be lucky to pass week one just like the last few days events.

How many items are on your play field? When there is a LOT of outside animation, that memory drain is a killer.
I would suggest using some tips on the Crash post and store items away or even uninstall the saved game and reinstall it. Then log into saved email or Facebook and LOAD the save game file on the play level you left on.

I contacted them about the drops on Killer Croc. I was just informed by Tiny Co that it was a “visual error” and that it is fixed at this time. So it seems that it’s a rare drop of 1 sack of jewels, not 10. Ugh. Just when I thought I was going to be ok since I bought both Superman and Batman, (huge DC fan!) Back to the grind..

Keep in mind crocs are not only place to get them. You have Bane. That is where the “ALWAYS” comes into play on the drops. You get a bunch for defeating him.

That is true only when you cross part 2 of the quest line. For part 2, I need jewels for exchange and so far I have killed 8 crocs and got nothing. So I can not advance the quest line and come to a point where I can get jewels from Bane. Since no exchange is possible, no kryptonite and no buildings. Aquaman timer is running. So I am sort of in a deadlock situation.

In the kryptonite exchange rate you have in the article you posted this:
[30 Sacks of Cash Sacks = 3 Kryptonite (carry over from Phase 1)]
In my game I only have the exchange rate for 4 or 6 kryptonite which involve the bags of jewels. Should I still have the cash sacks for 3 kryptonite, it would great if I/we did. Thanks for any info!!!!

Hence reason I noted “carry over from Phase 1”. It was a Phase 1 exchange option I hadn’t used yet. As soon as I did, all the Phase 2 options took it’s place.
Everyone should have 2 exchange spots open in the Daily Planet now. Most are a mix of Cash and jewels or just jewels now.

Finally managed to get one of the jewels, after 12 attempts, so I reached part 3. I battled Bane with Peter and Wonder Woman and got a vitamin in payout- so it doesn’t look like the jewels are always in battles either :-(.

Did you WIN? Or did you just battle him and not have enough to defeat him (which I assume is the case) and you just got the “Loss” reward for the battle?

I see killer croc has gone to 1 bag of jewels (was 10 before) and the blurb says “rare drop”. Has TC fixed the issue? Too scared to waste my bait in case it’s not fixed yet lol.
Rare drop of 1 bag seems measly considering i need 5 bags just to get 4 kryptonite

He will trigger at Going Batty Pt. 3. Once he appears, tap on him just like the Thugs to see the Battle Options. This time you can select up to 3 Characters at a time to go up against him.

My game now says croc is a “rare drop” and that it drops one jewel (it used to say 10, although I never got 10). It’s going to be impossible to get the buildings like this. Annoying.

I have only had one Bane in my game, and that was when i hit Part 3. That was almost a day ago. I wrote to TinyCo, but nothing. Is it like a dragon that only appears every 12-24 hours?

Ok, so I just tapped on a Killer Croc in my game. In the little window that comes up, where it tells you “Chance of:” it now has 1 bag of jewels instead of 10. WTD? Is that their fix?

Bunny, I know we are not happy about the killer croc not always dropping jewels. But, it actually says (rare drop) even tho it says ALWAYS up top. Star fish are rare also. Hope this helps with some of the confusion. It would explain why we only get points a lot of the time. It would be really great if they were ALWAYS…

They are Rare from JUST the Crocs, you still get a bunch from Battling Bane.

They are the XP points you need to collect to Level Up for the Event. Your Level is noted bottom right corner

Can I ask if anyone has more details about Aquaman’s timer? Specifically, does it start the moment you tap the Asylum, even if you don’t build it? In other words, I’ve tapped the asylum, did not build it, and I have only “Learn How to Save Aquaman” completed under the “This Fish Needs Water” questline. Is the timer already silently running in the background? Or will it not start until I build the asylum? Based on my reading of Bunny’s post, I’m guessing it’s the latter, but I wonder if anyone else thinks otherwise.

Really hoping for a fix soon of the non dropping jewels. As many others I am stuck at part 2 as I can’t exchange without jewels and I have the 7 days timer running down without me being able to buy the buildings needed to collect from.
I hope that us who are affected by it will receive something making us able to catch up again.

Tiny Co told me this was now fixed and to restart the game. Did as instructed and took out another Croc. NO effect. Still dropping just POW points. Did notice they changed the wording from always to rare drop, which when looking at it makes absolutely no sense. Seems I will be perpetually stuck on part two as my Aquaman timer ticks down…

I think you’re missing their point, Bunny. They’re stuck on Going Batty part 2. As you know Bane doesn’t show up until part 3, so Bane’s not an option for them until the drops from Killer Croc get better.

I’ve noted many many many times that I’ve approached tinyco on this drop in numerous comments and addresses the concern tons of times. 🙂 Just letting people know that yes, as much a pain as this part is, Bane WILL BE a better resource for jewels. You know, big picture and all. 🙂

Right there with you. Have cleared Croc 4 times so far and gotten 0 jewels. They could have made it uncommon at the very least. Should be always or common. They require you to get jewels to exchange for kryptonite but only sure fire way to get is to buy premium chars/buildings.

Yeah, that’s true. But if Bane requires vitamins that’s a rare drop there and out of all 5 characters I send to get vitamins at max I get 2 every 4 hours. Earlier events were much better with drop rates for required tasks.

Just got a message from tiny co- in short, they’ve “corrected” the label for the task of clearing the croc to “rare.” Thanks a lot tiny co- guess we found the first bottleneck. It’s the same thing every event. A few characters dropping a “rare” item – more like epic- that is critical to obtaining game currency to obtain required buildings etc to advance… Seriously?? We will need more ways to get bai for the crocs, that’s for sure!!! Good luck all!!

Just wondering…when I hear of people spending like 1000s of clams to get characters and these gift boxes….are you guys really spending $99 to get the 3500 clams (and that’s only in one “event”) or have you really really spent time building them up…I can’t see spending more than the $2 or $10 (if it’s a promotion like today) for a game…

Russian Tigger did an entire post of the thousands of Free clams they’ve acquired just playing. I buy them when they are on sale if possible… otherwise I buy gift cards from places like Costco and make my money and clams go further. Some use Amazon Credits.

I’ve spent tons of clams on boxes in other events and didn’t get what I was trying for but was shocked when I got Robin Stewie on try 2 and the Retro Batmobile on try 3… Not sure if I should risk any more to get some jewles or not!

I’m confused, Killer Croc says chance of 10 sack of jewels or 1 starfish, but I have only seen zero or one sack of jewels, after four tries. Just bad luck, or do they mean a sack is 10 jewels? I need 5 for the next level of Kryptonite, if it really is one at a time, this is going to take a while.

Just got a reply from TinyCo that there was a visual error that has been updated. Reloaded the game, and it now shows 1 bag of gems and 1 starfish.
Going to take a while to slug out those gems now.

Hi bunny I’m confused, in my game it says that killer croc only drops 1 sack of jewels and its rare. At this rate how is it possible to complete phase 2 without buying or spending clams. I’m stuck on going batty part 2 becuase i don’t have enough jewels to trade. I messaged tiny co but they don’t respond. Can u please message them because they answer u, and ask them to fix the drop rate so the game could actually be fun and enjoyable and not frustrating. Thanx

FYI- for me, the Killer Croc does NOT drop sacks of jewels (despite being an Always drop). I tried twice with no success and messaged TC. They confirmed that it is an issue and their engineers are working on it. Take my advice SAVE YOUR HOOKS (for now).

THe drop rate for the sack of jewels when eliminating the killer crocs is atrocious. I’ve taken out 11 of them since last night and haven’t got a sack of jewels yet. At this rate, I’ll never finish phase 2. 0/11 is beyond awful.

So far I have had jewelry stash drop twice – each time only 1 stash – and that was 2 out of 7 tries. Since you need 5 to 9 stashes of jewels to get kryptonite…I know you get the point. Here is to hoping that this is fixed soon. Remember to save about 40-50 kryptonite before starting phase 2 or unlocking aquaman – since that will open the first 4 buildings to get stuff for him. Still I am hoping they put a fix in soon to better the drop rates

I’m probably not alone with this. I’ve found a few problems with phase 2 and I’m sure you’ll have the answers.
At the daily planet it shows that jewels are an always when clearing a croc. I have cleared 3 of them and have only received POW points.
I have already placed the skyscraper and the tailor from Wayne tower. When I tap on them to see amount of time before collection, they are not showing the items for aquaman as a payout. Do we need to have aquaman on the timer before the payouts start?
Also waiting for response from TinyCo.

Yes on Aquaman. A payout will not show until it is actually live and in existence in the game. So if he is not there to collect for, there are no items to collect. 😉

In my game superman peter was part of group thug play it wasn’t until I got wonder woman that he got replaced with stewie. So I guess only way to move on is buy superman or stewie. That is not fair!!!

Then you had a faulty/glitchy game as Superman Peter was never in that fighting group. Only individual Thugs. All 5 of my games, identical. Only Superman and Wonder Woman fought Gangs since day one and only should have been that way. I got all my screen shots for the Battle post from those games and verified in them all for Players on which Characters fought individual and group. The rest of us only had the one option.
So if yours was different, you got a lucky head start then the rest of us. 😉

Just a couple of updates…I am only on the Facebook App and I’ve had Phase 2 since this morning…
I think I may have made a mistake saving all my money bags and not buying extra Kryptonite before the new Phase dropped, because now you have to spend both regular money bags and jewel bags to get Kryptonite, although it’s more than 3…
Killer Croc drops either 1 or 10 jewel bags to pray for luck because after the first one, the Kryptonite costs MUCHO jewel bags:)
I fought Bane with Wonder Woman and he whipped her tail!
I hope you have enough Superman Viruses or Money bags saved up, cause now you need to use Bonnie for Hooks to fight KIller Croc and Joe has a task for Hooks but you’ll need to use him to do other stuff to advance..

Been playing this phase since this morning, and though sack of jewels is supposed to be an always drop from clearing Killer Croc, and needed for Part 2 of this Phase, I only got it once in the first four tries
