Quahog’s Not So Silent Night Weekly Challenge – Week 1 – Toy Stories

We all love a Chrustnas surprise, not knowing what you’re going to get until you open it. Well,  that’s how I look at the Weekly Challenge!  You never know what you’re going to get until it drops in your game.

As always these aren’t called a challenge for nothing, sometimes they can be extremely difficult to complete, especially for freemium players. Many see these as extra fun for premium players but that doesn’t mean a freemium player can’t do it, it just depends where you are in the game and sometimes a lucky guess at what items to stockpile whilst you wait for the challenge to drop. The prizes to date have always been decorations, with the odd building as a Grand Prize, so I wouldn’t advocate spending clams on these, but as always the choice is yours.

Anyway this week’s challenge, if you should choose to accept it, seems not too difficult after everything I said above, it should work in tandem with what a lot of us will be doing right now, clearing Sams , the only difficult part is deciding whether you want to sacrifice 500 stocking stuffers for Princesses Against Kidnapping Club. It’s a lot to spend if you’re saving them for Christmas Morning Peter and Q*Bert. If you manage to complete it you will be rewarded the GI Jew decoration.

They have also released an image of the Grand Prize you will be awarded if you complete all 4 challenges during the event, the Baby Heimlich Doll decoration.

What do you need to do to complete it, well here’s the deal, you will need to complete the Toy Stories task which consists of:

Peter  Starts

Place Princesses Against Kidnapping Club ~ costs 500 stocking-stuffer. stocking stuffers (drops 8 stocking stuffers & 20 Dream Points every 4hrs)
Clear 15 Sams

YOU HAVE 48 Hours IN WHICH TO COMPLETE ALL PARTS.

So there you have it the first of this events weekly challenges. If you need help on clearing Sams  you will find details in this post.

Sams

Good luck and let us know in the comments if you completed the challenge.

  3. Your page title is “Toy Soldiers” which is not the title of the challenge.

  4. The 500 stocking stuffers is worth using for The Princesses Against Kidnapping Club because by the time you get the additional 1500 stocking stuffers and possibly some of the other items to unlock Qbert, the drop rate from the building would have practically paid itself off, meaning you really won’t lose any time by purchasing it now.

    • But remember some players haven’t unlocked Christmas Morning Peter yet, so they need stocking stuffers for him as well. Depending on your gameplay you might not have the time to put in to collect every 4hrs for it to start paying off after 10 or so days, hence maybe passing on the challenge is right for them.

    • The building drops barrels, so that’s an added bonus now as well.

  5. For some unknown reason I just can’t resist a challenge, especially as a Freemium player, so I got the little soldier to help guard the princess building. Also decided to get all the buildings in the shop. Got PJ Peter last night. Now I need 1800 stocking stuffers to get Qbert and 3 more tissue boxes. Loving the event so far.

    • Ha, I’m still on the not buying it side, I will see what new content brings later, then see if I change my mind. It is tough when you always take part in these to walk away at the first one, lol.

  6. Hi, I have a problem with the game and I cannot contact the support because my game wouldn’t load… It rarely crashes, but now it got completely stuck on opening one of the present packs. I tried restarting the game and my device but the game always loads where the pack opens and then it crashes again, so I cannot do anything at all. Do you know what I could do about this?

  7. Decisions, decisions…

    A) Spend the meager amount of Stocking Stuffers I have on a chance to win a superfluous decoration.
    B) Save the meager amount of Stocking Stuffers I have for a building or character that might be helpful -or even required- to make progress through the event.

While I do give the TinyCo Overlords some credit this time for offering prizes that are actually references from the show, I simply cannot justify shooting myself in the foot currency-wise to obtain them…

Now get out of my yard!

  8. I can barely even get the pyramid packs to drop. A rare drop for something so essential to this event is getting me nowhere in the game for the event.

  9. I still can’t get the green balls to drop, if i ever get any they will be used for nightcap building.

  10. Nope. I just unlocked Peter’s costume, so now I need 2000 stocking stuffers for Q-Bert. Can’t spare them. 2000 is a really frightening snot as it is. I have way too many decos as it is. Maybe if the big prize was a character…

I’m really big on collecting characters. As I’ve only been playing a year I have like 81 enough, only enough to fill 4 tan line floors. So it’s really slow going trying for, well let’s face it, evil 🐵. So any character is priority over a deco.

  11. By my candy cane math, if you do 5 collections a day for 8 candy cane each time, the building will start bringing candy cane profits halfway thru the 12th day. It makes sense for me to buy it.

    • If you have some to spare but many players don’t have enough to unlock Christmas Morning Peter yet never mind Q*Bert, so buying it then waiting 12 days to start making a profit from the building is too long. They need to unlock Christmas Morning Peter to complete main Questline for this phase, so I understand prioritising using their stocking stuffers for this.

  12. I will only do the timed quests when final prize is a character. Why do we even have to place that building worth 500 to finish it? No.Thank.You. I will be unlocking peter today, just need 150 stocking stuffers.

  13. I have easily completed the Sam squishing but think I will keep the 500 stocking stuffers for more important tasks, its an excessive amount just for a decoration! Aside from that, cap drops are way to slow but the event has been enjoyable otherwise so far.

  14. Not a huge fan of the challenge requiring to spend stocking stuffers as they are always so scarce at the beginning of an event. Just through normal game play I have everything needed for Qbert …. except the 2000 stocking stuffers. And I will spend 600 of those to get Peter once I can get two more stocking caps to fall so I am pretty far away. I will lament missing the first week’s challenge during the final week but knowing it is all for decorations eases the pain.

    • I think it’s good they revealed the grand prize in order we could make a judgement on whether to go for this challenge or not. Me I’m passing, Stockig stuffers too precious at this point.

  15. i have no use for decos and will not be distracted from the main quest line . I could not care less about getting something I will keep in inventory so my game loads quicker. Do you really enjoy decos? Why on earth unless it is something of special meaning to you?

    • My personal view of the weekly challenges is if completing them fits in with what I’m doing at the time I will complete them, if completing the challenge would divert me from my planned strategy I don’t bother.

  16. Is it 4 me or is the cap drop from building pretty terrible 2 days gone by and no single drop and tissue drops are being extra extra rare

    • I’m having the same with the night cap drops, hoping things get better today.

    • I have sent Mort and Bonnie a combined 14 times and ZERO tissue boxes. Seems kind of epic to me.

      • I’m still on 0, but it’s going take me while collect the 2000 stocking stuffers so hopefully something will have dropped by then.

        • Nightcaps are proving to be really hard to get, I’m only halfway the needed amount to unlock Peter’s costume. As for the tissue boxes, I haven’t got any despite having Mort on it all the time.

          • I’m on 0 tissue boxes also, but going take me time get the stocking stuffers for Q*Bert so that gives me time get the drops.

            • Mort and Bonnie both just dropped tissues! Still need 2 more boxes but now also have Christmas Peter on the job. Perhaps by the time I collect another 1600 stocking stuffers and 8 more lives I might have those….😀🙄

Green balls are slow coming, finally got enough to get building that drops lives.

Deciding whether or not to get the building that drops slippers (which I don’t need anymore) as it has a good stocking stuffer drop rate. Need more green balls though. I’m wondering if I’m better off saving the green balls, if I get more, for the next phase instead of purchasing that building. Thoughts anyone?

              Like

              • I’m holding off buying the buildings I don’t need until Phase 2 hits tomorrow, as then I will know of the green balls are needed for anything in that Phase. If not really need I will grab buildings. Might be an idea for you to wait and see as well.

              • I did get the slipper building for the stocking stuffers, it may be the best payout, 8 every 2 hours.

    • After 2 days of nothing I finally got my second pair of hats to drop. At this rate I might get the last 4 hats I need by the end of week 2 which is a pain since I’ve had everything else for peter for a awhile now. Amazes me how they can go from the Oz event where everything dropped at a reasonable rate to this where almost nothing does.
