Tell TINYCO what you want, what you really, really want to see in the game in 2017

So the New Year partying is over, the fire works have burnt out, the sseason of goodwill is behind us and the Best of event has launched in our games. Yes looks like 2017 is here to stay, well for another 357 days at least.

Whats an Addict to do once the party’s over and the daily grind has returned? Well apart from enjoying breaking all those new year resolutions, how’s about helping TinyCo to make some? C’mon lift your 2017 already weary heads from their Sunday slumbers and take this once in a blue moon, ok once in a year, opportunity to tell TinyCo what YOU want to see in the Family Guy The Quest for Stuff game in the year ahead.

What would you like to see more or what would you like to see less of? What new characters or features would you like to see, or even what old characters or features you’d like to see brought back? Is there an event you loved that you’d like to see a sequel to, or an event you missed you’d love them to revisit? Is there any changes you’d like to see to the layout of the game, the inventory, anything at all?

Basically this is to ask you to help them make the game better, so share your thoughts with us in the comments and let’s help TinyCo make 2017 the year the game gets it right!!!

***Now I know there’s a lot of anger towards TinyCo just now due to the Quahog’s Not So Silent Night even and the crashing issues this last week, I think you all know me well enough by now to know I get your frustrations, and that I’m sympathetic to them, but please don’t turn this into a venting place, please keep that for the latest What the Deuce, you’ll find it HERE.   1. I’d like to have a new district, since that was the ‘plot’ of the game. I’m not really interested in more land, but rather the way districts worked. And since they are not timed they qouldn’t bother and could even co-exist with a timed event. Players would choose what to play or skip.
    – Returning characters or events would be great. For characters they could use the Tan Lines (so that it doesn’t become useless after a while), or mini events (1-2 weeks) to get them. Events could be brought back in mini-format like the Star Trek event. People who weren’t around and the time could get the stuff and take a look at the event storylines, and people who were can relax. The portal is also abandoned now and could be used.
    – I’d really like to be able to send everyone to the Tan Lines. I don’t like this new feature of getting them out if there’s an event. We can see who we need by checking the different items we need to collect, so there’s no need for this feature (we can get them out of the resort from that list as well). I really want to send them back to the resort instead of the inventory if I choose to skip/drop an event.
    – A way of cancelling tasks (without clams) would come useful too. Not speeding with drops, just cancelling as if nothing had happened.

    I know this would have a lot of copyright issues (and maybe it’s impossible to make), but since we have the Three Kings episode and random Stephen King sketches I’d love a S. King themed event. I’d had lots of fun with it. Just daydreaming

  3. An event where all drops are always drops, just make the tasks longer or shorter.
    A bar or casino for only premium bought characters that they can go to once a week to win clams. Like a spin wheel with a chance to win 1 to 5 clams.
    Would also like to see a river or moving train through the town.

  4. How about you actually take to the concerns & gripes of the players. These events are getting harder to complete without forming over money which is ridiculous. What’s the point of giving us all these characters that we’re never gonna use. Give us some more land and some more districts to unlock. Either get rid of the coins or give us a reason to spend them.

  5. I would love it if TinyCo would make it possible to complete the event quest lines without spending clams. For example, if we can talk cross reference other games, Magic Kingdoms and Tapped Out has completely playable events without spending real $ if you are a dedicated player. I’m not saying they shouldn’t earn any money on these events, but make it so people can still complete the events. For example, if the character is essential to the story line, make the drops for the unlock easier so we can work towards completing the clams. Secondly, what Magic Kingdom does, and Tapped Out, give us an opportunity to earn clams by continuing to play the game after a certain story line ends. I’d like to say that I really appreciated the opportunity to earn clams in the Holiday event 2016. Kudos!

    Also, i would love it if the quests would use more of our already unlocked characters. Most of my characters sit in Tan Lines Resort while i’m trying to run through the quests with limited drops on the regular players.

    Also, on my galaxy note 4, whenever Roger the alien (American Dad character) is completing a task, it crashes my game on the phone. I have to log in with the tablet to complete the quest. Please fix this too.

    Finally, events: would love some more tie ins to actual family guy events. It really helps drive the game and the show together. For example, mini events can be implemented during season finales or openers. Tapped out does it and really encourages me to pay attention to the episodes, and hey, it might be a great way to introduce characters into the game…for CLAMS (hey look, here’s a money making venture for ya!). Keep up the good work. for the most part i’m happy, but i’ve also come to expect that I’ll never finish an event without spending some money which irks me. I should want to spend clams, not feel like I have to. I know that’s a fine line for a game developer, but remember, if you make it fun, the earnings come in.

  6. I would like to see an end to Global Leaderboards, single-purpose Event Buildings that only drop one event-related item, and deliberate questline bottlenecks. Having to unlock a character or outfit in order to progress to the next week of an event questline can only be tolerated with improved drop rates.

    It’s been over a year now since we had a new district-like questline to unlock at our own pace (Tan Lines doesn’t count), and my Ghost Portal is still taking up room doing nothing, even preventing me from earning more Zombie Parts for decorations. I have two workers that aren’t earning their keep because every event building drops into place ready-built (not that I would want new buildings’ build times to hold up time-limited event questlines). Everyone except me seems to complain about needing more land, and a new district is a way to give them that.

    There needs to be a point to levelling up – both as a player and for characters. I’m now at level 85, but nothing’s really changed the game since level 3. I max out characters as a force of habit, but I don’t know why I don’t just chuck ’em straight in to Tan Lines after all their tasks unlock after level 6 or so. Tapped Out, on the other hand, has this figured out pretty well: free Donuts for levelling up, and lots of new (not time-limited) buildings, characters, character tasks and questlines are tied to the player’s level.

    And please, TinyCo, do what you want when pricing up premium characters, but pick a clam price for returning, previously-unlockable characters, stick to it, and charge less for returning outfits.

    I am a fan of Halloween, and would love to see maybe some of the characters from past ones, since I started playing this year.

    I would love another super heroes, Nintendo one, and fairy tales.

    Maybe a nightmare before Christmas this year, and then use some of the Halloween/ christmas guys to drop event items.

    Also when u complete the event mainline, have them drop something that can be used to unlock a character. Like princess peach, when u completed the event quest mainline, drop a star.

    I feel I use more of my money and clams on rare and extra rare items because they drop like once every three days.

  8. I’ve got more than 100 characters but I reckon less than 15 are ever used – Stewie and Brian are core show characters but, usually, unless you pay for a premium costume they rarely get used. If I’m lucky some of these characters might be used on a Tan Lines quest once a month.

    some existing character costumes that would be perfect for an event dont seem to be re-used either – my Peter has got like 20 costumes but some i haven’t used since I unlocked that part of the town however many moons ago it was. I’m sure there were characters/costumes that could have been used in the xmas event that were overlooked.

    I’d also like the option to put whatever character i want in Tan Lines regardless of whether theyre useful in an event. Especially if i’m 1 or 2 away from the chance to drop a Red Buck but i’m bottlenecked for whatever reason on an event and nobody is doing anything useful.

    im not too bothered about land space because i dont even have many buildings out anymore. More buildings just means more coins to collect and i’ve got millions that i cant even spend or swap.
    I would like the option to do something with all this excess currency though. Spend it on buying a previous event character that was missed or a costume. Take it back to the early days where collecting money was worth doing because you always needed it for something rather than just stockpiling it because theres nothing to do with it.

    i really like to see better warnings and details on timed unlockable characters. like with Monkey Kong, placing him and then finding out one of his items was a task done by Peach who also needed to be unlocked. Details to include something along the lines of – unlock Character A but for a better chance you need Buildings A and B and Character B. Then you know what to focus on before placing them.

    When you have to attack something and its life if 31 but the things you attack it with are only 10… meaning you need 4 things and waste 9 points. It should be a nice rounded figure. No hit point wastage.

    I dont know how this would work but it could be nice, between events, for a shop or catalogue of all the characters and costumes with a clam value or a coin value. If you have the costume then the shop/catalogue greys it out or gives it a tick. Then you can look through, see what you didnt get, and decide if you want to drop money on unlocking it.

    Events I’d like to see involve that were in the show
    – the A Team. (Would have to be a 2-3week mini-event. dont know how you’d stretch that out over 5 weeks).
    – Star Wars (obvious)
    – Marvel, like the DC event a few months ago
    – I’d also like the American Dad crossover to make a reappearance. I caught the tail end of it when I first started playing and was only able to unlock Stan
    – Simpsons crossover maybe?

  9. The abundance of cash needs to be transferred into clams or something. It will be the same with stewie bucks, they will eventually become useless and tiny co will start another money grabbing currency like they already do with event currency. Why should someone who has bothered to invest their time into the game get nothing back, after all we watch those adverts you are getting paid to advertise for a measly clam. The whole pricing structure needs to change, events want 2-8 100 clams a week spending on them only to be uselsss for the rest of time. I’d like to see all characters avaliable to buy with stewie bucks, even if it takes as long as evil monkey to earn the ones you actually want

  10. If i pay for something, I wonna have a nice made game. I hate the small things like since the water event, my beach is not 1 line anymore, there is a failure near the corner, hard to explain… And it also looks not professional . I mean they have could set stones or something into the water, to show us where we can put things or not. But now it looks so ugly with just another watercolor….They should fix all their bugs and stuff before adding new content… (Sorry for my english guys)

  13. Please really understand that there is a problem when rare items are easier to get than uncommon.

    I also think players should be compensated more evenly. I know there have been times when tinyco assumed responsibly for a bottleneck, and help players move ahead. That’s great until you think some of us paid money to get pay the bottleneck issue. The people that don’t pay out are rewarded for not using clams.
    Lots of us got God free last month! Thank you. I was happy, but what did players who had earned him get? That kind of thing is a slap in the face. Some of these characters are hard as heck to earn! Once again the underdogs take the prize.

    You could also have polls to see why events purple would like to see. Like when we had the Oz event. I loved that the event was a polled event. It made it more personal I think. Thanks!

  18. Keep the clam generating buildings and character/costume only mystery boxes coming. Give us an option not to do characters questlines, or at least give some time between events so we can clear them. Being a sucker for character/costume mystery boxes, I currently have so many that I cant do or I will miss something else.

  20. I would like to see some old characters used in an interesting way. For example, if you had Stewie earning an item on a four hour common task, then Bitch Stewie could earn the same item on an eight hour common task. Or Evil Stewie or Stu Griffin could earn the same item on a four hour rare task. You could do the same thing with Brian and Bitch Brian/Vinny/New Brian, Peter and Retep/Lil Peter/Chip Griffin, Chris and Sheepdog Chris/Future Chris, and Meg and Bull Dog Meg/Ron.

    I would also like to see a feature where you could block all purchases by clams in the settings. I have had issues where I have been tapping too fast and accidentally made a purchase. This happened in the Dino Event and cost me a couple hundred clams. I thought I was placing an event currency building and accidentally double tapped, which pushed me through the confirm screen and the clams were gone. Also, during the last event my wife asked me a question and when I went back to the game, my screen had turned off. On my phone you double tap to turn the screen back on. I wasn’t paying close attention and kind of triple tapped and finished Monkey Kong costing me 300 clams. I had been checking to see how many of certain items I needed when the screen turned off, so that was still up when the screen came back. If this clam purchases were blocked and I actually wanted to buy something, I could still go into the settings and turn that function back on. I contacted Tiny Co immediately both times and they did nothing. In the case of Monkey Kong I didn’t even click the final unlock in case they would help me. Until there is more safety I won’t purchase anymore clams. I’m not risking real cash in an inadvertent tapping accident.

    The other option would be a universal undo option. You hit this button and anything you had done in the last 2 minutes is reset. This means if you slipped and sent someone on a task you didn’t mean to do, made an incorrect purchase, moved buildings or decoration to storage you didn’t mean to and don’t want to have to scroll through and find again. It could be a Stewie Time Machine-themed function.

  21. 1) More time between events – going from one to the other is too hectic;
    2) Let us do something with the event currency at the end – I had over 26000 stocking stuffers and had ‘purchased’ all the things I wanted. Perhaps reward a clam per 1000 or 5000 – people might be more willing to spend clams if they know they’ll be getting something back at the end;
    3) Another event that utilizes the water area – maybe open up more area/land;
    4) Let us put any character we want into Tan Lines – if they are used for the event, it’s our choice;
    5) involve more characters or at least reduce the demand on characters during an event – frustrating your customers is a sure way to make them go away;
    6) More technical testing before an event is launched (see 1) – I don’t understand how an event was launched that crippled Android users – was it not tested prior to launch? Granted, I am not a software engineer, but as a scientist, I don’t understand how that glitch was not picked up prior to launch…

    • More time would be great and also maybe let us know a time frame before launching a new event. Like a 24 hour warning message. This way we don’t start task that are a day in length right before the event start. I almost sent Chris on his one day psychic phone lines task a few hours before this even launched.

  22. I’d like the game to go back to how it was when it started. Less events, no convoluted procedures, no 20-step techniques, no bottlenecks in collecting rare, extra rare or epic items to progress in the game; a game where it is not necessary to play every 2 hours to get something, and that the rhythm of playing is set by the Player, not because everything is event after event and limited time.

  23. I just started playing in November so I would love a chance to get characters I missed, especially Star Trek. I generally play freemium but if there was ever a Star Wars, Harry Potter, or Game of Thrones event I would buy every character and building.

  26. I’d like this game to go back to what it used to be a few years ago which was fun and not constantly stressful. Honestly that is it. For someone who plays almost hourly I just want a chance at actually completing events on time. Either it’s less things to do at once, or more characters doing one thing (vs usually 1 character needed for 2-3 tasks at once like Bonnie in xmas event). I just want to not feel like i’m stressed and scrambling to complete new events within the few first hours though based on past history it’s justified. I have honestly not finished one single event on time in over a year. For someone who starts an event on time and plays multiple times daily they should 100% be able to finish every single event. I’d like TinyCo to reward people for the amount of time they play, not the amount of actual money they are willing to spend

  27. I want to be able to remove some questlines which I descide to not participate in. For example side questlines in event and character questlines. The feature should not be enabled on the main quest line but I sometimes want to remove other questlines such as weekly challenge or Tan-Line questlines.

    • I want to remove the “buy coins to get clams” quest. I am never, ever, going to pay for coins (seriously, what’s the point??) so it would be nice to remove it from the list. I realise I get the equivalent amount of clams, but $6.88 for 130 clams is ridiculous. They’re trying to tell me that James Bottomtooth or Human Rupert are worth almost $14 each?? Haha WTD!!

  28. I suggest a system. All the previous characters that a player doesn’t have can be bought with clams+vouchers+millions of coins combined. For example I would be able to buy Alive Cooper for 120 clams + 5 red vouchers + 3 m. coins.
    I would happy as deuce if there was a literature event basing on one of the last Family Guy episode
    I would be glad to know whether this threat will be read directly by TinyCo and considered a while.

  29. There are a lot of really great suggestions here already.

    I’d like a scheduled 24 hour break between events, especially between the 4-5 week ones. And maybe a longer break once or twice a year. Just a little time to play with the town, set the characters on some active tasks, concentrate on unlocking more districts (currently unlocking Olivia) and maxing out characters.

    Also adding more games with mechanics like Tetris , galaga, angry birds etc.. and earn task by them… like a pinball from family guy.. and you could ear parts for characters by achieving certain skills in the game.
    The game had become more of a just task and farm kind of game.. which people get tired of really fast.
    And even better make this casual games permantly available on the game, even like we need to use in game cash which is now something unnecessary for high level players.
    And when an event hits use these game themed accordingly and tasked.

  31. 1) A dot to show which character actions you have not done yet. Each time you do them all (collect all dots) you get a clam. Then it clears and you start over

    2) A bonus (ie, 50 clams) when you max out characters to their upper level, (most are level 15)

    3) Perhaps there should be an ‘Elite” Penthouse Suite in Tan lines where only maxed out characters can go, to entice us to max the all out
    4) Hated needing Bonni to get beach balls, (and only a chance of it, it wasnt always) but she kept getting holiday blues, and to free her of that I had to earn stuff just to be able to get a chance at winning one of the THREE bears needed to free her of holiday blues. Ruined the even for me, I could not move forward. Never got the beach ball.

  33. I would like to see events structured and algorithms set so that players who play the game are rewarded. There is no reason why someone who plays the game by collecting throughout the day shouldn’t be rewarded with success. I would also like to see a safety net for starting timers like there is when you make a clam purchase (“Are you sure you want to start this timer?”). Perhaps if I felt better about the game, I would be more apt to support it financially. Being “tricked” or being forced to use clams to play the game doesn’t make me feel good about the game. Do whatever themes you want for events; I came to grips a long time ago that Blue Harvest is never going to happen as long as the Mouse owns its rights.

  34. How about something with “greased up deaf guy” or “buzz killington”? Would also be cool to see an event for the “Super Griffins” where Peter could morph into different things and Lois had super strength etc.. , Stephen King novel event, or event where Stevie, Brian and Chris travel back in time to help Chris pass his history test? Just a few thoughts. Already did a Star Trek event think too soon for Star Wars imo

A Star Wars event, I know you did a football event but what about doing something that ties into the NCAA tournament or like the football event but with the NBA or NHL(or just a sports event in general). We can get former or current players from any league. What about a wrestlemania sequel with more wrestlers past and present. How about a simpsons crossover event. Also can get to where we can buy things with coins or at least trade them in for clams.

  38. it’s gonna be a long list… (and i’m kinda new to the game *few months in* so i don’t know what’s clearly impossible, sorry)
    – finally fix the crashing, there’s always some problem with every update (i know that fixing a bug might create 2 new one, but it’s just ridiculous how it crashes on Android and really slow on desktop/FB/FB Gameroom)
    – a way to see a list of characters doing tasks right now, where they are and how much time they have left (i set alarms to check on my game and i always have to jump from building to building to find who’s gonna finish first), same for buildings maybe
    – allowing the characters partaking in the current event to be sent to Tan Lines (e.g. Bruce and Joe has a skin for clams in this Best Of 2016 event but i dont want them and i need 2 characters to fill another floor, but i cant since they’re locked out)
    – a way to collect everything at once, not just coins, event currency too
    – a way to free characters with finished task all at once (don’t have to tap on all checkmarks, it takes a lot of time when the game is crashing and lagging on Android and/or you have a lot of characters/buildings)
    – give us a break for moving on with main game without having to decide to not participate in an event (tho this could bore the hardcore players who have everything already, maybe a little game for them for that time? idk)
    – bring back past events or give new players a chance to get the characters (the Best Of 2016 event is a nice touch but for me it would be nicer to experience whole events i’ve missed)
    – not so tight events when i have to sacrifice my already not-so-much sleep in order to have a chance as a freemium player (e.g. in Not So Silent Night i couldn’t even get to Phase 5 even tho i was waking myself up every 2-4 hours, and i still had to spend 200+ clams on Black Jesus)
    – more sales and/or premium characters at lower price (e.g. 1: now the mystery box for characters/skins dropping tokens is “only” 150 not 250 like for most stand-alone characters) (e.g. 2: when i saw Consuela was only 90 clams instead of 300 i bought her rigth away, even tho i refuse to spend any clams/money on anything most of the time because it’s just a game for me)

    of course i don’t even hope all of these will happen but if any of these becomes a reality i’ll be grateful

  40. An easier way to sort through inventory would be nice. One idea would be to alphabetize them.
    MaybeHeroeng Dead theme, or some of the old shows would be cool too like Gilligans Island, Hogans Heroes, MASH, Bewitched, shiws like that.

    What I’d really like is to do away with the rare and extra rare drops and just have an always drop for everything. For example instead of a rare drop every 2 hrs which would possibly mean 1 item for every 3 or4 tries, just make it always drop every 6 or 8 hrs.

  43. 1. More uses for characters and costumes from old events in current events (to reward long-time players) and a way to know which ones to use. Occasionally old characters have tasks that drop event currency but there’s no way to know which ones without checking 200+ characters out of Tan Lines and then scrolling through all their costumes and tasks to see if there is anything useful.
    2. More districts and quests that are NOT time-bound to an event. I know they’re printing money with these events, but racing from one to the next is getting old. Events used to be an exciting break from the regular, now they ARE the regular.
    3. Change the road system. Let us build roads anywhere there is enough free space, do not limit us to the grid of every 4th tile.
    4. Allow us to save and load different configurations of Quahogs. It’s really annoying to have to manually remove all my roads when there is an event that requires me to bomb things (like the turtles in the last event) and then manually put them all back after the event.
    5. Make some use for coins or remove them from the game.
    6. Get consistent on drop rates. Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Extra Rare should all mean the same percentage chances across events.

  44. I want less ‘fighting’ elements or at least a more efficient way of doing it… clearing the various wandering things was so damn tedious. First you have to find the thing (assuming you haven’t removed most roads), then click on it, then apply your first attack, then hope that it hasn’t started walking and walked behind a building, click it again, apply your second attack, repeat until defeated. Repeat the entire process ad nauseam until the end of the event. I was sooooo sick of fighting and I still had hundreds of attack things stockpiled by the end. They really need to make it super simple and not a chore.
    But what I really want to see is the chance factor eliminated from the game completely. No more ‘chance’ or ‘rare’ or whatever… let me do a task and get my item. If I play the game like clockwork I should be able to get all freemium prizes available. It’s the biggest source of frustration in the game, and the main reason the Xmas event went from good to awful.

Also I would love another chance at Spanish soap opera peter as I have only seen him offered once when it was spring break and I was on vacation and could not play . . .   46. One thing we’ve needed since day 1 is some way of cancelling tasks without clams.

    Something to spend coins on.

    More mini events and shorter events in general would be nice. Four week should be the max for any one theme.

    Limit how much each character does in each phase of an event to 1 thing. Using the last event as an example Bonnie collecting Beach Ball and having the Blues came in the same phase. The Blues could of been saved for those who were collecting items needed in the previous weeks which aren’t needed anymore. They can keep using the same limited set but be a bit more logical in who does what and when.

  47. I’d like to see an update to the inventory screens. I’ve thought about nuking the town and setting it up again but the thought of scrolling through numerous building or decorations to find a specific one is daunting, especially as a long time player I have lots in there.

    Similarly, I scroll through the different outfits of characters to see if any of them offer benefits in the different events but that takes a while with Peter as he has so many and to scroll to the end and that back again takes a while.

    If it were possible to make the images smaller and tiered similar to how the images are smaller in the FaceSpace pages showing numerous characters grouped together.

    Also now that I, finally, unlocked Evil Monkey I’d like to see other older characters made available for Stewie Bucks at Tan Line. Ollie Williams and Giant Chicken would have been great choices for there as they are iconic reoccurring characters but there are currently being offered in the mini event.
    One character I missed out on that I’d like to get is John McClane as I have had Nakatomi Plaza in my town for a long time.

    With clams and event specific currency bring used during each event there doesn’t seem to be a lot of use for the coins we collect and long time players will have quite a stash. I’d like to see something done with them rather than just the odd building or decision to buy. Exchange for clams, high price for older characters or skins.

    Maybe a building with a character that the daily event characters can be used to unlock stuff instead of Stewie Bucks, as you can get Stewie Bucks from filling Tan Line floors anyway.

    Just a few thoughts.

  49. Things I would really like to see in 2017 is new non event characters, buildings and decorations through both the tan lines, old districts and maybe new districts.
    I would also like to see a crime based event where you can unlock the fat guy strangler/patrick pewterschmidt, bobby briggs and a second change for james woods.
    Also a voice actor event where you can unlock seth mcfarlane, patrick warbutton, mike henry, seth green, mila kunnis and other voice actors.

    • Sounds good, and I definitely think many players would welcome another chance to get James Woods and Patrick Peterschmidt
