It was one of those hip shaking, belly busting, blink and you’ll miss it events. But that doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear how you got on in the Road to Bollywood Event. So addicts was it Bollywood or Bust in your games, are you sitting feeling blessed by the Gods or sat wondering why Ganesha has forsaken you in this mini event.
Remember these polls are really just to share how we all did. personally I was in the Hurray for Bollywood camp when this event appeared, as I love it when Brian and Stewie go on their road trips in the TV show. So a mini-event giving more than a nod to Road to India had me shaking my hips. But like many of you by the end I was left shaking my head as this was another tough event.
So once again, I loved the concept, loved the content but for the third event in a row, well they do say bad luck comes in threes, it was just too hard. I get pay or play, I really do, you either put in the time, or put in the dime if you want it all, but even that’s not working in the game anymore, drops have become way too random and unpredictable and really I’m beginning to think progress is more down to luck than anything. Now I admit I play a lot, and I spend clams as and when I feel like it, but even I’m struggling. Yes I unlocked Belly Dancer Stewie and Ganesha but did so by the skin of my teeth. And whereas I used to feel a buzz when I unlocked a new character, I now think, thank Ganesha that’s over.
So what did I like, well actually I loved the 2 new character costumes available and for some reason that I’ll probably never understand, I desperately wanted that pink drumming elephant God for my Quahog. But I kind of wish they’d had Padma as a character, after all she was the reason that Bollywood collided with Quahog in the first place. But I must admit I will never complain about having another guise for Stewie as he’s my main man in the game. Without him, I’d be gone.
I loved the Taj Mahal, and but for TinyCo announcing the extension AFTER the event ended I would have got it, but like most other players I used up all my rupees as TinyCo had earlier stated the event would end as extended. Disappointing, but I’ll live.
So what did I like and dislike, well if you want to know read on, if you don’t scroll to the poll at the bottom. Hey guys, stop scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, lol.
Another mini-event, which although came hot on the heels of two hectic events, should have been hip shaking good fun. But maybe it would have benefitted from being a 2 week event, which could have seen Padma brought in in Week 2 and of course Ganesha would then have been a 2 week unlock. But I’m keen on more mini-events but not one on top of the other like this.
More Family Guy TV show linked content. Belly Dancer Stewie, Tiger Brian and Ganesha have all appeared in the TV show so plenty of Family Guy content to keep us happy.
After the Quahog’s Not So Silent Night and Best of 2016 events there were none, thank you TinyCo.
Too many rare drops being used for a mini-event. Way too many being used full stop to be honest. The common drop has also become very random in my game, whereas it used to drop 9 times out of 10, now it’s way less. This made gathering offerings for Ganesha way too slow and unpredictable.
In the past their has been complaints the big Boss is impossible to defeat at the higher levels, TinyCo seemed to be addressing this, but this was certainly a return to that issue. Even purchasing the premium shrine for extra drops, this Boss would been tough to hit at 5X. With 3 different offerings and guess work as to which offering you should build up for each attack, well it just took us back to the bad old boss days. The rewards weren’t that generous either at the lower levels attacks, a major stumbling block when players couldn’t get any higher than these.
Announced event would end as intended then after the end time they announced the event was being extended. But by then players had either stopped trying or spent clams. However they seem to have accepted this isn’t the way things should have gone, a willingness to admit they got it wrong is a good start to hopefully getting things back on a better track with the next event.
There were definite improvements in this area last year, but something seems to have broke again. And it could be with the tough events and issues of late the support staff are just swamped and unable to give every complaint the attention it needs. Whatever it is it needs addressed as support is the place players turn when they need help or are frustrated when something isn’t right in the game. Getting the right response to players complaints can make all the difference, you get it wrong you lose a player, and a possible clam buyer. However they seem to have reacted to players complaints regarding the late extension well from what you’ve been reporting, so credit where it’s due for that. However, I’ve long thought TinyCo should look to implement a players ambassador role to help bridge the gap between themselves and players.
Anyway that’s all I’m going say, as I feel like my thoughts are stuck on repeat these last few events. But I do try to be as honest as possible, even if it’s not all blue skies and rainbows. I’d much prefer those as you know, but I’m still hopeful the next event can impress and blows our minds rather than just frustrate us until we blow our tops.
And please remember these are just my thoughts, they in no way reflect Bunny or Lotty’s opinions of the event, and of course if you’ve any thoughts or feedback of your own, please leave it in the comments. But please don’t turn this into a What the Deuce post, as Bunny will send me out to charm tapeworms if you do, and I really don’t fancy that. You’ll find the What the Deuce post HERE should you need it.
Until we meet again again in Quahog!!!
