Hello There Clammers!
Looks like iOS users finally got the update that hit Android devices two days ago. Check your App Stores (on both devices) to make sure you have the latest and greatest update of TQFS.
This update sets up the Kingdom of the Full Moon Event that’s upcoming. If you play on iOS you’ll notice your icon and splash screen have changed. If you play on Android…they have not. DON’T PANIC! I’ve been advised that the icon and splash screen will change on Android when the event goes live (seems like they have more control over Android changes than iOS changes).

The update did change 1 big thing as well. If you check out your games you’ll notice Al Harrington’s is now…ANIMATED!
So now…what does this all mean? Well now that everyone is on version 1.0.10…it looks like the event will be hitting VERY VERY soon!

I have an iPad but it shuts my game almost every few seconds, how do I fix it, I really don’t wanna lose my game, I jut got enogh idols for king butt.

I downloaded the update on my ipad as required…..and now it crashes on loading EVERY time… Can’t get past the load screen at all! Driving me crazy now. Grrrrrrrrrrr

I have an iphone 4s and still have not received any update. However I do see in the App Store that the icon has changed. If I delete the app, and reinstall, will my town be saved? I don’t have a facebook either.

Check to see what version you’re on. Is it 1.0.10? If so you’re on the correct version. If not, as long as you have your town saved (you can do this by setting up an account via email…don’t necessarily need facebook) you can uninstall and reinstall no problem. What device are you on? If it’s iOS go to your app store, tap purchased, than find Family Guy and tap on it it’ll say on the left side what version it is. (there may be a better way to do this, but I primarily use Android so this is the way I’d do it on my iPad)
On Android go to settings, More, Application manager, Find Family Guy in the list of apps and tap on it. It’ll tell you the Version at the top.

Er hello first time posting here. I love this game yet I still have not received the latest update I have done everything I know of to get the update but still nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

All it is is a base update from the app store. What device are you playing on? Check your App setting and see what version your Family Guy game is on. I should be 1.0.10

Love this game but still have 2 major gripes. 1) unable to invite friends without connecting the game to FB (which I don’t want to do for privacy reasons) & 2) the limited amount of time you’re given to unlock special characters — I have everyone except the Hobo because I didn’t realize there was a time clock working against me and the clowns weren’t reappearing. I don’t feel like shelling out more clams for it. They should extend or re-offer the ability to obtain them within game play. Thoughts?

I hate the Facebook aspect of this game. Both my husband and I play and we’re not even friends with each other because we don’t want to connect our Facebook’s to the game.
PeePants is still available & I think it’s something that they’ll add pies and horns for a future district so everyone can unlock him. I think they were blown away by the stats of people who did not unlock him.

Thanks, Alissa. Pretty funny that they started a “What the Hell?!” thread minutes after I posted this. I sent in an in-game message to TinyCo. We’ll wee what they say. I’m certainly not going to spend 705 clams to just create Pee Pants (that’s what the Outfits store is telling me).

I’ve downloaded the update but nothing has changed…I have an iPhone 4s. No new icon or splash screen and no animated Al Harrington’s. Am I doin something wrong or is everything going to change when the event starts?

No, just make sure you’re on version 1.0.10. If you are you should be good & things will change when the event changes.

Woo hoo!
Looks like Tiny C.O. has inflicted me with YET ANOTHER BUG!!! (I feel so special). Still on the old version after rebooting, deleting, re-installing, etc.
The App Store SHOWS that there is a new version, but I only see Open+, not update – and nothing will force the new version.
Sorry, but after suffering through EVERY SINGLE BUG ON THIS GAME, — They S.CK! Tremendously.
That sayin’, nothing that a gift of 1000 clams won’t fix…

Finally, did ANOTHER delete (with full Game Center Deletion), reboot, download, suffer ANOTHER game intro, login and it finally is the newest version.

Oh, and I was gone all weekend+, and never got to post that I FINALLY got the last eyeball. I think it was attempt 79 or 80. Just want to point out that if it really is a 5% chance of getting an eyeball (from a very early post on drop probabilities), that it is a less than 2% chance that it takes 80 attempts. If it’s really a 10% chance: that’s less than a .02% chance.

The thing to remember about odds is that they are only a guide to what will happen. The odds aren’t automatically wrong just because your experience doesn’t match with the perfect outcome. Sometimes a 1 in 200 chance will come up first time and sometimes a 1 in 3 chance won’t come up for ages.
You might not like the odds but they’re working as designed.

Uhm, how EXACTLY do you know they are working as designed??? Did you help code it? If not, no offense, there is no way that you can know it is working.
And don’t try to teach a grandpa how to spit seeds. There is a .5% chance that a 1:200 will come up the first time. But after 7 tries, a 1:3 NOT coming up has a less than .5% chance (taking 20 tries happens only 3 in 10,000 attempts).
Now assuming that the Epic poll results are correct, here are the realized odds versus the true odds (at 5 and 10%):

So, even at 1 to 4 attempts and a 5% chance, 20% of the time one should get an eyeball, not 1%.
It's not a matter of not liking or liking, it's a matter of belief. I don't believe them. Especially when nearly every single time, the first n-1 items drop at close to the reported odds, but the nth item drops at a far rarer frequency.

I have always hated probability. I know what you say is correct. My issue is that i will ALWAYS see it as taken only in regards to the current attempt. 50% chance? To me that is ALWAYS 50%, it never increases, you could potentially never ever have it happen.
That said i think the chance for epics goes in a cycle of sorts as i have done the whole 1 drop 2 drop, WAIT FOR AGES, then 2 at once thing about 3 times now with headbands whips and eyeballs.

They “supposedly” ARE independent odds (i.e., 5% or so every single time). The probability of an outcome with repeated independent attempts is (1 – odds of happening)^n (raised to the power of n, where n is the number of independent events). So, yes – even with 90% odds of something happening each attempt, it is possible that it will never happen, just very unlikely.
FYI: Odds of even 25 failed attempts at a task that is 50:50 is 0.000003% or it could possibly happen every 33,554,432 times you try a 50:50 event.

im using an ipad and the update was not in my list. yet when i looked up the app in the store and went into it, the ‘update’ label appeared. have the new splash screen now, just need the event to start. hope its this weekend!!!

It actually was. You just had to clear enough land to have room. Plus it’s only 4 squares wide, which means that boats either are partially on land, or you have to clear the southern-most part of your Quahog. And no matter what you do, your island can’t be more than a peninsula.

3.5 weeks I “work” three times a day just on this mission! and all I have to show it is only 1/3 eye ball

Try to open game and won’t as it tells me there is an update. Click on update takes me to iTunes Store and game but does not show update only open button which takes me back to app then says needs update, cycle plays out over and over. Now can get into game…

Try Hard close, uninstall, restart your device, reinstall and see if that helps

Found the new version in the app store, but had no option to update. Reinstalled to get it. Reconnected to Facebook to get my town back. Now most of the voices are gone. Peter, Chris, and Bonnie are the only ones that work. Tested it on Android and the same thing happened.

That’s the best thing to do (contact TinyCo). It’s odd that all of the voices just stopped…anyone else experiencing the same thing?

It usually happens to me now when I switch to the friends towns area and then back, or randomly when I go to play, but I’ve been force closing and loading again on iOS and it brings the voices back, then just today I hear back from tinyco telling me to try the same thing, but they took so long that I figured it out by myself.

Yeah some are coming back like Quagmire but still takes it’s time in doing so. I always force close my game after I play, so it rarely made a difference for me

I had to uninstall and re-install the app on ios to get the update. The game wouldn’t open and kept telling me to update but nothing showed in the app store all afternoon. This worked and I got the latest updated version. Hope this helps anyone else still having trouble…

No update for me. Rebooted ( not sure what that would do but hell I tell all my clients that) searched the App Store yaddda yadda. Maybe they pulled it or they have something against Canucks? At any rate I’m sure it’ll show up.

I know this isn’t quite the thread for this but I feel your pain, compadre. I tried constantly for FOUR DAYS (no exaggeration) to get one eyeball and one headband. I came here to post about my frustration yesterday, but read a few tips from others who suggested sending the guys on different tasks which may help the odds of getting a drop when you return them to the item task. Someone also said that TinyCo liked us to do the tasks in order (I still had to get four hats for Mid Life Crisis Lois, but was ignoring that to get the headband).
Well, after reading this, last night I set Peter to do the 12 hour roadhouse kick (still hadn’t done that to unlock Tricia) and had set Lois to get a hat which dropped (together with Connie and the hat shop paying out, this was the last one I needed), so I had completed hot Lois and set her to build at Al Harrington’s (still building, it’ll complete around 9pm GMT). So while I slept I set her to get a headband without much hope and Doc Hartman to get an eyeball with an equal amount of apathy. This morning, they both dropped their booty. Whether this was coincidence or the change of approach, I don’t know, but it’s worth a try. 🙂

It really is luck. It took me nearly 7 weeks of sending characters on 4 hr tasks etc etc to get the whips. I got 3 eyeballs in 1 day. Just keep at it. When I got my final whip (after losing it when game crashed 4 weeks prior) I felt like I had climbed the tallest mountain. Yes, it can be frustrating, but it’s better than the stupid odds TSTO had during the Easter event! If you still have to get items at least you won’t get bored having completed everything. I had everything but the whip for S&M Lois. Now I have that I’m just marking time until the new event! Would rather still have a task and subsequent quests to do. When you least expect it, I’m sure you will get it! Try sending your characters on other small tasks during the day, then send them in eyeball task. That’s how I got 3 in a row. Changing it up seems to work. Good luck and don’t give up. Can’t wait for this new event!

That happend with me one with the Simpsons game, TSTO posted the update was out for iOS and I didn’t see it under updates either, but there was the update when you looked up the game on the store.

Took a little while for it to come through on mine as well. Try restarting your device & see if that helps.

If you open your App Store and look under updates like I did today, the update should start to automatiacly download.
Updates don’t always auto install as soon as they are available unless you do it manually, or open the app shop and look at the update page.

I have been holding off on re-building the PF Chinese, because that would bankrupt me – no money left for the event. Plus, it takes more than two days, and maybe I need my worker for something else. Haven’t been able to unlock Anime Peter anyway, so Tricia just has to wait a bit longer.

LOL….Too True……I still need 1 eyeball and 2 headbands. But I must admit…..I’m glad things don’t come so easily. It’s making the game more addictive and challenging. See the link I had posted in a group I was in with the caption, “Hey….Am I the only having this dream?” (It’s also a shout out to Sara Mary)
And I’m looking forward to this event to begin. TinyCo is making all the right moves…..now if they could just get the new “Friends” module working….FB “Stinks” (insert slang of choice)

I agree with everything you said! I love the chance element, but I have been lucky with everything but the 4th whip. Won it, got licked out of game, then earned every other epic, extra rare, etc, etc, item for 4 weeks until TinyCo realised my game thought I had already got it. Thankfully they fixed the problem. Most people make the mistake of sending characters to do the tasks with a chance of getting something over and over again. I found it easier to get difficult items if I sent them overnight to do the task and had them doing other tasks during the day. Every morning I woke up to the items I needed. This game rocks and I now play this more than TSTO – despite playing TSTO for 2+ years. Keep up the good work TinyCo and can’t wait for new content!

i can say that on android they changed the font with that last up date. and i asked them about why i didn’t get xp from my people they said they only get xp to level up the character not the game and you only get xp to level up your game by completing missions and your building

It looks like the update got me back I the game today, and I never heard back from any of the emailsi sent Friday, sat, sun, asking for help, the only email I got back was one asking if the help they Never gave me worked, and the first thing I noticed was my almost 60 clams I had before the game stopped working had shrunk to 25.
I sent them an in game help request about that and that I missed getting any of the animals.
As of now I doubt I want to spend any Real money on this game.

Just let them know via in game support. I was short of clams following an update & they gave me my missing clams and extra clams as an apology. Trust me, it’s worth telling them if u missed out on items or lose clams through no fault of your own. I had similar issues that lasted a while & was compensated with enough clams to buy my fav character. They do listen, and responded to my angry rant in 2 days (though I was waiting for a response initially for 8 days). Once they get on your issue, they fix it and compensate you if you have lost out badly. Latest weekend animals were ok and came with a free restaurant once u got all 3 of them. However, they are tiny and not that interesting and cost way too many clams. Having spent a few hundred pounds (not $’s) on the game I cd afford them, but once I had them I regretted wasting my clams. Only 1 animal was worth getting & free restaurant isn’t that special. Save yr clams for possible updates. Nothing worse than spending yr clams only to get a new level with items u can’t afford due to careless spending earlier. Keep sending in game problems. If u get nowhere in 4 days, e mail them & tell them u will go on the blogs. That worked for me every time (& I lost over 1200 clams & 2 costumes, which they remedied once I posted on this site and e mailed them). Good luck and keep contacting them x

I have a question. When I click buildings, I see XP pop out. But on my characters when they are done with tasks, none pops out. Is there an invincible do that I’m getting from characters? Love the game though!!

You’re still earning the XP but for whatever reason it doesn’t pop out. You should still see your characters XP bars increase tho. 🙂
