Hello There Clammers!
A bit after 10pm PDT, the toy change FINALLY occurred. We’ve gone from collecting Octopus to collecting Dinosaurs…
Same rules/tasks apply. Send Peter, Chris, Bruce & Quagmire on 4hr tasks to earn the Dinosaurs. They WILL drop each time they complete the task. (I’ve yet to see anything different than this, although some readers are reporting they don’t drop each time.)
The end time for this toy is 10pm PDT tomorrow….so that’s 10pm PDT on 7/21/14, 1am EDT on 7/22/14 & 6am BST on 7/22/14 (0500GMT for our friends that aren’t in those time zones). Basically 24hrs from when the toy changed.
There are a few things we can confirm with this toy change…
-IF you have a character on a task to earn this toy and the toy changes before they complete the task, the new toy will fall from the character when the task is complete.
-If you’re having trouble getting the box to come up…go into your shopping cart and go to the featured tab. The box should be there if you have enough toys (6,14 & 24).
-You cannot win doubles from the box. Once you’ve won an item it will disappear. HOWEVER….if you already have an item (if you purchased it) you can win it again in the box. ie if you purchased a Koi Pond for District 7, you can also win one in the box. But once you win it, it will disappear.
-Currently, we don’t know if Rupert will be available for clams after the event is over. I know he shows up on Facespace as a character you buy, but as of right now we don’t know if he’ll be available. Once we have an answer on it we’ll let you guys know.
So that about does it my friends. Same tasks, new toy.

Well, 8 boxes opened and still no Rupert. So just like getting the Fart of the Covenant, my luck just sucks. I have 17 dinosaurs, and 1 last chance, but with him being 1 in 4 prizes, I have a sour feeling that he won’t be my last box gift.
So sad and jealous of everyone who already has him. I’m such a faithful and diligent player. I keep up with all the tasks and events and have pay for clams. And yet I haven’t gotten the stuff I really wanted.
I literately won all the prizes that I already own with this event. There are only 3 items I don’t own, and I STILL have yet to win 1 of them. So this whole weekend was wasted collecting things for something I most likely will not win and I could’ve maybe had Stewie unlocked by now.
Sorry. Had to vent. And TinyCo likes to just tell me “no” to everything I ask regarding help towards things like this.
Just wish I could’ve known ahead of time that these would be prizes that could be won, I’d not have spent clams on the spotlight, etc.

Yay got Rupert after box 8. All my characters have dropped. Also used my free clams I’ve been saving for the ‘Stewie Topiary’.

So just realized this: Since Chris and Bruce each missed a drop with the dinosaur toy, if I make the rest of the possible drops today (and get full drops) a half hour until it changes I will have 22 of 24. Should I just wait to collect toys 19-22 after the party changes tonight (10 PST)?
Sorry if this was already posted as a strategy but still reading through the thread.

If you won’t get to the next unlock point, yes. It’ll give you a nice head start on the next day’s prizes. You can collect and reset the tasks once the new toy is released. I did that last night and I’ve already got 12 toys for today, almost to 16.

Thanks! Yeah once I hit 14, I’m going to see if I can get some other required tasks out of the way if I can line it up. Hoping I’m close to the needed sparkles so I can get a full 3 boxes tomorrow 🙂
On a side note, saw your other response to me and yes I definitely think it’s the characters that are earning 2 items that are not dropping every time. Peter and Quagmire (only earning the 1) have been solid.

It kinda stinks, not much has drop anymore. They were coming out left and right for a while and this is all I have left to do:
Carter – unlocked
Stewie – 25 Blueprints, 7 Plutonium
PB&J Brian – 10 Banana Peel, 2 Maracas
Falconer Peter – 2 Satchel, 3 Leather Gloves
Rupert – 6 out of 12 tries, just 5 more tries with only 6 more prizes remaining
I only have like 4 more areas to clear up some land, I finally finished building last of the new buildings and I’m almost about to buy the new buildings that require clams.

Oh geez, unrelated to Rupert, but totally in the mood to whine. Sent everyone on a nice long quest overnight for items for Stewie, Carter, and the costumes, except of course those collecting my little dinos! Log in and click the check marks just now, and not a single item drops from all those quests. Not even jewels!
How am I supposed to fill a swimming pool with jewels for Carter if no jewels drop?
How can a falcon fly without his feathers??
HOW WILL STEWIE TIME TRAVEL WITHOUT PLUTONIUM?!?
It was a sad and disappointing collection time, indeed! Here’s hoping the next time is better!
Still no sign of Rupert after five boxes either. More of a chance every day, but to be honest, no “premium” characters really DO anything in the game anyway except add to a coin count and add a little life to the town, so I’m just fine if I don’t get him. Now, if TC gave premium characters the ability to get items or some kind of bonus coinage/experience….maybe I would spend a few clams to speed things along, haha 🙂

6 items left…5 more chances..after onpening my first one earlier today (GD Island) I will have five more chances. the remaing six prizes are Rupert, Shanty, Pirate Car, Truck, Dansu Dansu, and Stewie flower..listed in order of what I want the most to what I want the least..the top three haven’t changed thus far in the event lol….and yes I am worrying that my last prize that I can’t get (because only opened two the first day) will be Rupert. Another question..I have seen a few people say that their people don’t drop 100% of the time? I haven’t had this issue at all (no not bragging) just wondering if that is human error or if they should write Tinyco starting with WTH??

I think we’ve narrowed it down to the fact that those characters that don’t drop, earn other items (sparkles for Bruce and Chris) and this could be causing the hang up with it. That, at the moment, is my only thought process on it.

Four boxes now remain with five prizes.. in order of my want to what I can live without Rupert, Shanty, Pirate Car, beer truck and Dansu Dansu…If I don’t get Rupert tonight I will go into full panic mode for my 3 tomorrow. The way I see it is the chances of getting Rupert last is the same as getting it first….and so many people on here got it first..

Worst case Scenario I will not get Rupert..but get every single other prize lol..for a free event not a bad thing…so even though I will curse I will not suddenly join the people that complain about everything lol. Thanks Alissa and All for the constant updates and the level head of answering the same questions repeatedly even if you put it in the above article as well as answer it a dozen times in the comments below…because people either won’t scroll down or in the case of converting time zones won’t go online to one of the hundreds of sites that do it for you lol. looking forward to the next poll and will give a breakdown of my final 4 items I can get with my final 3 chances tomorrow..hoping Rupert or the Shanty is taken off that list in a few hours ;_)

Finally decided to spend some actual money and got the topiary thing to give me a better chance at Rupert. Opened 6 so far and still no Rupert. I’m going to be so upset if I don’t get him after spending money.

I thought tinyco fixed the way that items drop, but yet since the latest tea party update I’ve been getting nothing. The only things to drop for me were jewels, baseball bats, and sandwiches. I’m yet to get a single plutonium, banana peels aren’t dropping nothing is. Even though my main focus is to get Rupert, but it would be nice to progress at getting stewie and carter while doing so…

The drop rates are the same…however what they changed was the rate after doing it so many times. Basically meaning if you do a task x amount of times and still don’t get the item to drop, it’s easier to get it to drop once it hits that number.

TinyCo could teach a class on how to dangle a carrot. Seems this event is stressing out many of our fellow readers. I honestly feel bad for anyone who doesn’t get Rupert. I am either today or bust as I cannot babysit my town Tuesday and my first attempt was gold digger island. I see Herbert’s ice cream truck in my future with a splash of Stewie billboard. I need a volunteer to run my town tomorrow. I am starting to obsess over this Magic Rupert event.

I have had characters not drop. This morning I had the four doing their things. And I only received three dinosaurs. This is the third time this has happened for me.

I have had Chris not drop 2 or 3 times in a row, and Bruce not drop a couple of separate times (once just now). Both of those characters in my game can earn a toy and sparkles?

Hmm I wonder if that’s what’s causing the issue. Since my game all the sparkles are earned that I needed it’s only the Toy. I bet that’s the hang up with it.

While I have been enjoying the update, it just sucks every time a box goes by and I just end up with doubles of things I will never use. Rupert nowhere in sight. I hope this changes, I’ve opened 6 boxes so far and crap so far.

Because I like to do silly things like eat sleep work and not spend money I have so far only opened 4 boxes but since Rupert was in my second box I am not stressing too much

Well I opened the first box today and no Rupert 😦 that’s my 6th box and only 5 boxes left, I’m going to be highly upset if I get every gift except for Rupert. Idk maybe with Tiny Co. switching the reset times one the first day(and throwing people like me one gift off) that maybe they will add a day or something. But I guess it’s just wishful thinking. I got luck during the pyramid event to get king butt with literally eight minutes left on the event, but knowing that I’m going to get 11/12 boxes in this event I’m not sure I’ll get lucky like that again. I wonder what percentage of players are in the same boat as me.
Also random thought, they should do a James Woods character available in a Rocky Point Manor event, once you can unlock Jillian the only character left to create is Carl(excluding the ones that died in the episode).
What do you guys think about that?

Ok so I’m in Arizona and the stupid turn over for toys isn’t happening till like 10 pm even though it should be 5 I’ve won all but 4 prizes from the box but no Rupert yet. My concern (how sad I am to have concern about a game) is that if in the next switch up I still don’t get rupert will the event end before I get a chance to hit the box up one last time? I imagine that after today’s change it will end with Tuesday’s turn over. What really sux is everything u can win besides rupert and his fine teddy bear azz I already have lol

I’ve actually really enjoyed this update. My characters seem to get toys every time (my husband is feeling the opposite, though, he hardly gets drops). I got Rupert yesterday on my 2nd box ever:

I’m not expecting to get rupert. With only 2 boxes left I still have not got him or lobster shanty, gold digger island, spotlights or stewie flower. That means I’m gonna open the boxes and more crap will fly out of it 😦

It took me 7 attempts in my B game (in my A game i’m 5 in and still no Rupert). For others it took 3, some 1 or 2. It’s all random and really the best advice is to just keep trying. I know that instant satisfaction is what everyone wants, but I promise when he finally does unlock it’ll be great!(and your odds get better with each box you open) 🙂

4 boxes in and no Rupert. I got 3 premium items thou and one duplicate. I’ll have another tea party in about 3 hours unless I rush it. I am missing out on at least tea party per cycle as I’m not getting up in the middle of the night to collect (basically I have not made it to the 24 toys yet for any of they toys so far)

Took me 7 boxes to unlock Rupert. For some players 3, others 1 or 2. It’s all random. Hopefully you’ll be able to nab him before the event ends! 🙂

I had a terrific run of gifts, I have only managed to get 12 toys at the most but have had 3 boxes to open, I scored peterr’s pirate car, lobster shanty shack and then I got rupert himself! Fully stoked!

I have some problems, I live in Europe and the time that it finishes at is around 9AM. I keep losing 8 hours because of this. In all these days I’ve only opend two gifts, yesterday I had 12/14 and couldn’t get the 2nd box. It’s frustrating. For the rest, I love this game a lot, I’ve never enjoyed a game like this so much before. You make sure we’re entertained.

so I stayed logged in last night, and when I woke up at 2am, I still had yesterdays stuffed animal. I collected the last four and got my last prize (24 animals) at 3am. I then logged out and logged back in to have the dinosaur refresh happen. Just a heads up for ppl, stay logged in if you are close to your goal because it doesn’t seem to reset the timer until you log out.

Since each item of the mystery box is given one time each and after disappears, if I get each item except Rupert does that mean next box opened is a guaranteed Rupert? I wrote down the items you listed and am checking them off as I go 😉. I’m really hoping this is the case, it’s kind of like a fun countdown for me.

Technically….yes. When you go to open your next box, tap the prize button. Only the prizes available will be visible. 🙂

By tapping on the green box with the magnifying glass and “prizes”, you can see all that you have left to win. So next time you get a Tea Party Box, check your prizes before you open it. 😉

Hi there,
I’m an avid fan of FG:TQFS game as well as this site and I’m still trying my luck in unlocking Rupert (fingers crossed hoping to get lucky before the time runs out).
I have a question I’d like to ask: if I had to buy now the ‘purchase-only’ characters like Consuela and in a few months time I were to buy a new mobile phone, is there any way how I can carry over my save file from my old mobile to my new one and resume from where I last played without the worry of losing any clams/money earned and the ‘purchase-only’ characters I bought with real money?
If anyone can help me out here, it’d be greatly appreciated.

Hello first time commenter 🙂 As long as you made an email account or Facebook/Google linked account, your game is saved. When you get your new phone, download the game. It will start at the beginning (don’t worry, this is normal), then follow the instructions in this post.

So I used 19 clams right now, because well I’m impatient at times. I have the Stewie garden thing… Had characters finish their tasks and waited also waited on collecting on the garden thing till the new toy was released.. So I got 5 dinos to start. With the garden thing(forget it official name sorry). Spent 19 clams rushing that 19 garden thing. I dont rush characters to finish, so have a decent amount saved. So if yall have the garden thing, rush it for a clam. Worth it I guess. No Rupert till tomorrow for me. Wonder if they put something in if you rush tasks you’ll get Rupert last..
Now back to watching law and order svu..

I’m trying to do the math for a while and it seems TinyCo has changed this event but if I got this right this is the situation now:
* There are 12 prices (no clams and no money prices anymore)
* If you get all the toys you get 12 tries
* You can win all the prices only ones
* So winning Rupert is garantueed if you get all 12 boxes
I hope my litlle thinking work is correct LOL

I’ve been having a problem that I’ve already reported and was wondering if anyone else is having this problem.
Every time I finished playing and turn the game off, then four hours later I go to play again and at least twice a day one of my town people are running around without doing a task that I sent them to do, but now it’s always one of them that is doing a Toy task, I can’t play all the time and because of this I have yet to get the second toy today because this keeps happening for no reason and I keep ending up one point short when I know I sent them to do something, and then I went out of my way to doublecheck each person that was doing the toys before I closed the game.
Is anyone else having this problem?

😦 that stinks. This is the first I’ve heard of it. You might want to do a quick uninstall/reinstall to see if a local file in your device got corrupted (unless you already tried that).

Well, I just checked and everyone is doing tasks, and I do check usually after hour or so to collect coins and make sure there isn’t anyone wandering around, but it’s usually either Peter, Chris, the Afro guy, or the Peg Leg Guy.
Maybe i shut the game too fast? Maybe I need to wait a little longer so it has time to save to the server before closing and sitting the game so it has a chance to save better?
I don’t just stop playing, I also stop it from running in the background after I close it, (saves battery life) so when I play, it’s a fresh reload of the game.
I play on an iPad Air 128 GB, so I have plenty of storage and it’s not for lack of memory.
It doesn’t happen every time, and as soon as they finish a task I send them in a new Task so I won’t have to play hide and seek to find them later.
It would be much easier if they did what the Simpsons Game does and have a Townie icon to easily see if anyone is wandering cluelessly so you just click it and go,right to,where they are hiding.
No transparent building in Fam Guy to find townies behind buildings either.

I think you just answered your first comment. If you shut the game off too quickly that’s exactly what happens…not enough time for the auto save to kick in. I always soft close first (this forces a save) wait a few seconds, then shut the game off completely. I too would like a character finder (lost quagmire for several hours while he played with his gerbil behind an office building)

If you lose a character best thing to do is go to Al Harrington, and ‘use’ one of their other costumes, and the game will zoom to wherever that character is currently – even if they’re on a task 🙂

Defiantly a bug!
Three hours ago I sent everyone in quests, and twice since then I checked and they were all doing stuff, Expecialy all 4 toy hunters, just now I checked and found Peter wandering around town not doing a toy task he was just In the middle of an hour ago.

Now I just noticed another problem, I always play FG and then Simpsons, but for some reason the 4 hour quest in FG seems to have another 30 minutes to go, but the Simpsons 4 hour quests have only 15 to go, I know what time I last played both and it seems FG has a slow Clock. I think they did it on purpose so it’s even harder to get prizes!
And FG only lets you know the quests are done when all are done so you won’t know a four hour quest is done till everyone else’s 10 hour quest are done!
At least Simpsons alerts you hourly, but FG needs to learn a lesson in their lazy alert system.

The task timing problem has been there off and on since day one. If you have been playing from the roll out, you might remember it. I could leave a 12 hour task for 8 hours…return to find 10 hours still left…lol….not cool. Send an in-game message. Tell them you might have the task timing issue. 🙂

Not exactly, many won Rupert with just their very first box (6 toys collected). Collecting 24 toys in the 24 hr window allows you to open 3 boxes…3 tries for Rupert.

I have to say i really like this event. Free items just for playing who could complain ( quite a few from what i’m reading,lol)?
So far i have received the lobster shack, ale truck, spotlight, Herberts truck and the koi pond. I think thats a great haul just for coming back every 4 hours and i am gonna get at least 4 more items ( hoping 1 is Rupert) over the next 2 days THANK YOU Tiny Co.!
To those players who are always complaining about the cost of this or the drop rate of that. There is a simple solution.. Dont play. This is a game and you should be having FUN not moaning & whinning.
Enjoy the ride and be thankful we have Quahog in our pockets with new and fun things to do almost weekly.

You make a solid point in all seriousness…almost weekly updates is pretty awesome. I can tell you one thing Rupert’s event accomplished. A 90% slash in ‘Wtf Stewie is so hard to get!!’ posts. (In other words, a fantastic distraction!!)

Ever get any news on the 20 clam prize? Is that a 13th gift or what? Or if u get it does it knock I out of getting Rupert? I’ve been trying to figure this out for a cpl days now and still haven’t heard if anyone knows for sure?

It looks like the clams were pulled from the box on day 1. They no longer appear in the “prize” cover shot or the inner prize list (as I’m sure you have noticed). Plus I only heard of one person who won them on day one in a FB group I admin. Haven’t spoken yet to TinyCo but they run a light staff on weekends. They are indeed a Tiny company…lol

I’m ok with them pulling it myself cause id much rather have that chance at Rupert! I’ve been able to get all 3 chances each day so far so without the 20 clams all I have left is dancu dancu, bubbly fountain and RUPERT! So after the toy changes tommorow there’s no way I can’t get him right?
I’ve truly stresses over not getting him…sad

Really?! No more clams in gift boxes? Boooo! I was fortunate enough to get Rupert on my first box but I kept playing with the hopes of getting some free clams. I might just have to go back to collecting for Stewie now. Is there anything else worth collecting from the boxes that are worth clams or are all of the other gift prizes things we can buy with coins?

I went ahead and send the 4 characters ahead of schedule and I checked their task and 3 out of 4 will get the dino, but Quagmire. He doing the gerbil task, but doesn’t show a dino in the bar. I guess, I should have waited till the toy changed.

Remember, he has two 4 hour tasks, you need to scroll down his task list next time and select the “fornicate with giraffe” 4 hr task. 😉
