Hello There Clammers!
So Stewie’s Tea Party is all about collecting STUFF to win prizes. The top prize of this event? Human Rupert is the 1 guest at the Tea Party that’s Stewie’s favorite…and is a whole new character for your Quahog!
So while there’s TONS of great stuff (ok semi-great stuff) in the Mystery Box to win, the one prize everyone is after is Rupert! Some of you are reporting winning him on your 1st or 2nd attempt, others (like me) not till your 6th or 7th. The good news, and something to keep telling yourself over and over again, is that with every “other” prize you win…you’re one step closer to unlocking Rupert. (plus you can get some cool premium stuff in the process)
So what happens when you finally unlock this half man-half bear character, 100% figment of Stewie’s imagination? Let’s take a look….
Once you win Rupert your Mystery Box will look like this…
As you can see it shows that you’ve won a Teddy Bear. What will happen is the bear will appear (drop) in your town, similar to the other toys of the event, and you’ll have to collect him (if you don’t collect him, it will auto collect). Once you collect him this box will pop up:
Placing him will take you to the store where you’ll see Human Rupert and the Bare Bear Tanning Salon listed for free. You place this in order to unlock Rupert and the Salon…
The Salon is 6×5 in size and earns $60, 40xp every 12hrs. (Note: some of you experienced the glitch where you could place unlimited Tanning Salons in your game for a period time. This glitch has been fixed, so no longer can you place unlimited Salons.)
Rupert will complete the Premium Character collection, so if you have all of the other premium characters you’ll earn a bonus 100 clams once you unlock him…
Human Rupert does not come with a questline, so it’s basically just a character placed in your town. Up to you to complete his tasks & level him up.
Once he’s in your town he’ll come with 1 task that’s unlocked at level 1. This is a 4hr task, and once complete he’ll level up to Level 2 and unlock an additional task (1hr).
Here’s a complete look at Rupert’s tasks and when they unlock:

After you’ve won Rupert you can still collect toys to earn other prizes from the Mystery Box (the Lobster Shanty, IMO, is the next best prize…since it’s a building that will earn you additional income & drops shells). However, just because you can still collect toys for prizes, does not mean you have to. It’s completely up to you if you want to keep going or not!

I still have not won him. It’s frustrating to see all the others getting him. I even spent cams speeding things up. Today is the last day and I won’t get him. I put off unlocking stewed and carter and doing things to get Brian in the banana suit to try and get rupert and I won’t get a chance. The same thing happened it the king butt character.

Im shocked its taking so long for people, I got him 2nd try, I thought everyone would get him quick. Probably helped that I had nothing else to unlock at the time.

It was random…..but I do believe after we post our event poll, more will say they got him on their last or second to last box. Look how many players are being helped by this extension. 🙂

So this is the last day of being able to get Rupert & I still haven’t got him & I won’t be able to get him now! So pissed off wasted lots of clams to speed the process up & try & get him & I didn’t! Getting really sick & tired of this game if you’re going to do it at least make it so you’ve at least got a chance! Seeing people saying they got him first or second try, if you’re going to do it for one do it for all.

Sure hoping he is going to be a reasonably priced item. I spent money on clams to speed things along since I am on vacation and didn’t want to miss out, and still haven’t gotten him. Grrrrrrrr. . .

I just won him and he is so tiny, I almost had the same prob! I finally found him! I’m so glad I won him (though I did buy some clams to speed up the tasks today, cause I was afraid I wouldn’t get him, and if wasn’t going to miss out like I did on King Butt!!)

Only 1 box left but 2 prizes to get. Rupert and gold digger island. Guess I can se what’s coming in 6 hours time when I get my 24th toy. So annoyed I missed a box on the first day due to the long tasks Bruce and quagmire go on to unlock stewie. Boooooooooo!!!!! 😦

Eleven tea parties and still no Rupert. I sure hope that everyone is correct and there are only 12 items in the boxes. I’ll be mighty unhappy if Rupert isn’t there on my 12th and final try.

If you were ever unsure, all you had to do is click on “prizes” before opening the box. It shows you what items YOU have left to win each time. 😉

I have used all my attempts and still no Rupert. A little annoyed that I was getting things I already had is this normal or should I not of got stuff I already had ??

It was set at 12, regardless if it was an item you had already or not. The plus is you ONLY got one more. 12 prizes and 12 chances total. Keep an eye out, they may still offer him after the event. 😉

I just hope it’s not a stupid amount of clams , That’s all , spent enough on trying to get him . On the other hand I got some good items which would of cost at least 400 clams so I suppose if he is available after the event it’s not too bad , a little annoyed but still addicted 😊

Are you kidding me I spent 10$ in clams just to ensure I got every toy box which I did and guess what I got everything except for Rupert now I’m proably gonna have to spend 10$ just to buy him a week later this is bull****

I feel a little disappointed that Rupert doesn’t appear to have any dialogue or even a task that’s combined with Stewie. Unless my game doesn’t load Rupert’s voice. Still atleast I have him after missing out on King Butt, which isn’t a loss to me any way.

I’m a high school student and the new toy comes around when I’m at school. When I get home I collect my 4 toys. I set people on for 4 hours, four hours later I get another 4 toys (total 8). I can’t get to the game until the next morning (screw staying up until 1:00 in the morning). In the morning my total is twelve. And that’s all I can get because then I go back to school and the whole process states again. I am a freemium player and always will be. I’ve only gotten the stewie flower and pale ale truck (I was late on the first day)
TinyCo wants us to be active 24 hours a day. Some people work or have school and refuse to pay TinyCo to get things faster. And why should they it’s not fair, they shouldn’t get rewarded for being greedy. School and real world jobs are ALWAYS more important.

Tried to get rupert failed miserably… looks like im just gonna have to get him with spare clams I was hoping i would get him after i sped up the tasks to reach 24 but nope looks like TinyCo did this on purpose on some of us: now if we want to get 100 clams for completing the collection you have to buy rupert…. whats the bet rupert will cost 50 clams making the reward pointless.
Oh well I guess some of us we’ll just get him so we know that we won’t have to “buy” another character. Also I can’t believe someone thought the shells were worth it: conseula drops them and also the lighthouse so whats the point of buying something thatll be useless later on. There seems to be a reoccuring problem that TinyCo creates things but doesn’t make them for any good reason but to waste people’s cash(Shells are only useful for Peter’s mermaid outfit I find).
Alot of people complain leaving messages saying oh well I have to buy this or that – if it’s not worth your money then don’t buy it, don’t waste your time coming up for excuses and ranting on and on about how you don’t like freemium games. Here’s an idea: if you don’t like them don’t play them in the first place! =P Some of us enjoy the feeling of earning our rewards through play and at the same time sharing our love of the game with other people. No one is forcing you to buy anything: and unlike EA they’re not exactly holding back the doughnuts in order to disallow you to get the things you want in the game. Clams can be earned through progression and if you played the game long enough you would see why some people even like it more than tapped out.
There’s alot that goes into making these sort of games but then again people seem to forget that especially when they have their faces glued to their handheld devices and electronic devices. And I love how people keep picking on TinyCo even though they aren’t known for making that many game titles. I forgot that everyone these days apparantly owns an office somewhere with a development team who develops video games for every console under the sun and apparently they can afford it on their imaginary sparkly unicorn that puffs sparkley dust. (Seriously, you guys need a reality check).

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. We try to allow open dialog. I see it on all sides, but yes…we ask to keep it constructive…no need for attacks on one another. That only causes flame wars. Try and keep open minds. There will be issues. The game is still really in its new area, just starting to branch out. Still needs some tweaks and bumps. But overall, an amazing company that is really trying and listens to its players and interacts with them more than any games I have seen in a long long time. 😉

Just got all 24 Dinos and I got the bubbling champagne, ice cream truck and a stewie billboard…fml cuz I’m a stickler to progression n I’d love to get Rupert to complete the set

8 boxes down, 4 to go. Finally got the shanty so that’s a nice gift, especially with how they changed rare item drops.
Dropped 10 bucks on some clams to ensure I get Rupert but kinda hoping I don’t have to wait until box 12 to do it.
If you’re having trouble hitting 24 and have some clams just send them on their tasks and finish them at hour 2 or 3 so you only spend 2-4 clams a person and also can keep a normal night of sleep!

this is #$@^%$^% the game makes it impossible for freemium players to get anything they’re only three characters that can get the toys takes 4 hours each means that if you actually play( and have no life) every 4 hours you can only get 18 toys a day which only gets you 2 gifts opened and no way possible to get rupert. at least tsto gives you adequate time and means to win all prizes without spending real money (it’s almost frustrating enough not to play anymore) this is why i quit the croods game

I’m a freemium player, only opened 1 box on Sat, 2 on Sun and 2 on Mon. I got Rupert last night. So, “no way possible” isn’t accurate. Not guaranteed, but definitely possible.

So I finally have all 24 gifts for Stewie’s tea party and I’ve open them all up I got spotlights, lobster shanty, and big bubbling glass of champagne. How am I supposed to get Rupert? Is it just random if you get him? What happens if fate decides you can’t have him before event ends tomorrow? Please help?

Yup, unfortunately it’s random. No set way to get him, just luck of the draw in the boxes.
If you don’t get him before the event ends…it’s hard to say what will happen. He’ll disappear from the game, but we’re not sure if he’ll be back as a premium character or not.

I’m getting very frustrated with this event and I also feel as if the game is out to get me in a sense. I feel the game knows I have a crap-load of clams that I could spend but wont as I have an easy job and don’t require sleep so it’s not giving me any of the prizes that are actually worth clams or Rupert. I have only missed one prize so I’ve got a chance at 4 more prizes leaving 1 prize unobtainable which figures as they are all premium prizes except gold digger island, hmm wonder what I’ll unlock next… Please send some good joo joo my way as I’d hate to miss out on Rupert.
