Update: Just got word from our friends at TinyCo that the extension will end at 9pm TinyCo Time (PDT)…which is midnight on the East Coast & 0400GMT.
We were hoping (and they were pushing) for a 24 hr extension…BUT with the new update due to drop tomorrow (7/24) they’re up against TIGHT time restrictions. Hopefully letting you guys know now about the end time will help you get everything you need to unlock your final toys….

Just after 1pm TinyCo Time (PDT) the new toy for the extended portion of the event has dropped…
The new toy to collect is the Robot Trap Jaw. (thank you to the readers who pointed it out to me 🙂 )
All the same rules as before apply with regards to characters that can earn the Robot and the task length.
And we can now confirm….at least in my B game…nothing new has been added to the box. So it’s the exact same content as before, just 1 extra day for it all.

1 in 4 chances for Rupert, but got the stupid ice cream truck instead… Now i don’t have enough clams to rush 8 more trap jaws ( i will need 64 of them, i only have 49 because i spent a few rushing the jobs yesterday).
even buying clams does not mean i will get it, because it’s still just 1 in 3 chances… I give up… it’s definitely frustrating, and too much to ask for humans to diligently tap every 4 hours, ignoring sleeping time…

So, I had 2 items left. Rupert, and Dansu Dansu. I’ve spent 33 clams so far on this event. Time to open my last free present…50/50 chance. Dansu Dansu. Yep, I have the best luck. Well, if I spend another 48 clams, I can rush for another present since this ends in 30 minutes. I think I’ll do it. Not different then buying a premium character I guess. Just wish I could have won him like so many others.

I don’t know why but this event has been the funnest one yet for me. Quite possibly because it took me all the way until the 11th hour to finally get the prize. Thanks for the second chance tinyco. A few photos from the festivities are on Flickr. The party, however, has mostly retreated to Quagmire’s house where things far too disturbing to be displayed publicly are now transpiring.

Well that sucks. Only managed to get in one box today. Just did not seem to have enough time/characters to even have a chance in this event. I seemed to only hit the worst prizes as well (Spotlights, Koi Pond, Ice Cream Truck, Beer Truck and Stewie Flower). I am a Kindle player so this was the first event I have been able to take part in. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not really sure if I am going to stick with the game or not.

Well, I bought some clams and won Rupert, but just as I placed his house Peter started talking to Conseula the maid and a tab popped up saying unlock instantly and I was tapping to fast that accidentally taped in the wrong place and closed the window… 😦

Well I got a lot of good stuff for this event like the pirate car that blue truck and the shanty to name a few so I saved a lot of clams and got Rupert in the end.. There are still three things in there to win, but I’m not gonna spend another clam to get them. I still need to save them for Super Hero Day tomorrow,
Who knows what they will add! Maybe a Hall of justice or something like that!

Was saving clams for Consuela, but since Ol’ Rupers was the only thing left in the toy box, I splurged. Used 26 clams, and at 11:58 he WILL BE MINE!! Thank you guys for keeping me sane during this event. I’m sure I’ll be back to freakout mode tomorrow with the new one lol.

Tiny Co IMHO still hasn’t found a balance on events. I check my game 3-4 daily. Between the main quest line and events, I’m perplexed which goals are worth pursuing. The end result is I don’t feel I’m progressing even when accomplishing a goal, I feel I’ve lost a chance at part of the game that I can’t get to in time. The game is fun but there needs to be a coherent direction to make me feel successful

Let me begin by saying i have never won anything even a scratch-off lottery ticket. Actually i take that back i did peel off a free small fry ticket at McDonald’s once.
With that in mind I spent these days with slim hope that I would get Rupert. I had 4 gifts left on the last day and took that as “oh well i AM playing for free.”
Then I hear, through this wonderful site that I have an extra day! With the extra day and a chance to go through 3 of the 4 left I figured “what the heck I really want Rupert and I’ve GOT to get him with those odds”. So i sent my toons out on their quests only to hear it is ending early! In a panic I broke down and bought the clams needed to ensure I got the 3 boxes of the day.
First was champagne glass, “meh”.
Second the pirate car, “cool at least I still have one left”.
Third….. Spotlights, “SERIOUSLY!”
So… I shall still play your game, I enjoy it. I just want to relay… “Tip of the hat Tinyco, touché.”

No. Some people got him in the first 3 boxes, others in 6-8 and still more towards the end. It’s been all over the place. We’ll have a poll up when it’s officially over so we can get a good feel for where the majority of you unlocked him. 🙂

I got Rupert as my last prize. I’m just glad TinyCo extended it for one day (well 8 hours) as I had only opened 11 boxes at the end of the day yesterday, which was the original end date. I wonder how many got Rupert as their 12th prize (that would be a good poll question). It sucks for those who are short of 12 boxes to open until the last day if he was the last prize. Brings back bad memories from Easter Tapped Out trying to win Shary Bobbins.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s event. Hopefully, it won’t be as frustrating. Good night! I can sleep earlier tonight not having to wake up every 4 hours to collect toys. 🙂

What ticks me off is the changeover for the new toy today was late. I had a few tasks end around 10am and since I already maxed out the previous day’s toy, I didn’t get anything. What a mess this was. Got 11 prizes and didn’t unlock Rupert.

I thought so too but the little box on the bottom right is gone that had the pic of the current toy and led us to the tea party description screen and I had 6 toys so I had a box I couldn’t open in the shop and it’s gone. Maybe it’s because I already had every thing?

I left this comment in the last post, but figured I’d repost for anyone looking to get Rupert on their last try who missed it the first time.
“I had read that some people lost their prize if the game crashed and had to re-draw for another one. So last night I tried to intentionally crash it to get the prize that I wanted (Rupert) and it worked! As soon as the box opens, if you don’t get what you want, do a hard reset on your phone immediately (for most phones it’s holding the power button for 10-15 seconds, but check the specific way for your phone before you try, pulling the battery would probably work too, but my battery isn’t removable so I can’t test that).
It took me about 10 tries to actually get what I wanted, but 20 minutes of restarting my phone was totally worth it to get Rupert instead of a Stewie Flower which is what my first draw was.”
I am currently trying this trick again to try and get the lobster shanty and it is working (slowly but surely). I have gotten stewie billboard 3 times, then stewie flower, then the billboard again, flower again, pirate car, and currently resetting again, but it shows that the prize isn’t determined until you open it.

[start rant ;P ] Learned my lesson today, or did I? Accepted the fact last night I didn’t score Rupert with 3 prizes left on the table. Did “nicely” complain via the app about how the sparkles from Chris and Bruce kept them from getting toys, and how it cost me 2-3 boxes (which would have been another if I didn’t speed up yesterday).
Got the message that they were going to give us another “day” and thought “wow, ok I can do this wake up in the night thing for one more day to get the rest” (including Rupert).
1pm ish find out it’s only going for a few hours (not even 10), AND still takes 24 to get 3 prizes. “Screw it” I say, I rushed to get two boxes tonight, odds in my favor. Nope, Koi Pond and Gold Digger Island (bought GD last week, and an active task to buy the pond now, like a cruel reminder I was defeated.
Sitting on 14 toys and have the option to rush. Wish TC would at least tell us how much he’s going to cost if they do sell him, because if I rush tasks (I’m kinda all in at this point) and he ends up being sold at a discount price, for people that played but didn’t quite get him, ima be passed, yes very passed 😛 (yes I still have a sense of humor)
I get it being a new app and all, and they have improved with each event. But honestly only thing that I liked in this event besides the “exclusive” was the Shanty. Thought the Peter’s car was cool, but after getting it, it’s so tiny.. and why is the Ice Cream Truck so enormous compared to the rest?! If it weren’t for Cybersilly I wouldn’t even know what to do with the Champagne glass :).. but I digress

Just to clarify:
1. Are you able to see your prizes remaining if you currently don’t have enough toys to open the box?
2. Since the event launched after 4 pm EST and it is ending at 12 am EST, that means there was less than 8 hours for today, so it is impossible to get even one box without clams, right?
3. In the past, has the cutoff time been strict or is it like Tapped Out where it straggles a little bit depending on when it forces you to update?

1. No. You’ve got to have the box in your store to be able to view what’s still in it
2. Unless you started the tasks before the next toy dropped and waited to clear it until the toy dropped (which I did, as did many others), yes.
3. It’s been late in the past. It could be 5 min late, could be 30 min. Hard to know exactly.

I had 3 prizes left today and after finding out about the shortened amount of time available I broke down and finally spent some money on the game. I bought the buy a box of coins and get clams free deal. On my 11th mystery box I finally got Rupert and now have some extra clams to boot.

Aarrgghh! My stupid luck really held up! Coming into the extension, I had the Koi Pond and Rupert left! I even played it smart and had the 4 task finished and on standby by the time extension started! I actually managed to end up with the darn pond! And now I found out that this would only be up until 12am EST only. Now I am pondering if I should speed these tasks up. GRRRR!

Do it! It wont be a waste since rupert is the only thing left in your box its a guaranteed thing and you will be kicking yourself later when hes gone. You got this far just spend a few clams. If they put him up for sale later he will probably cost a lot more.

This is so messed up they only have us enough time to open one new box. I’m on the easy coast an amount my guys in quests as soon as I saw tere was a new toy although one I had alrdy put on an 8 hr. so now I’ve got 7toys opened one box and of course no Rupert. I feel like this was fixed I set alarms and everything to do this event and got every thing but the car and Rupert and I’m sure Rupert would be the last box I would’ve opened which I’m obviously not going to be getting with the little 8hr extension that doesn’t even help. So glad I didn’t buy clams this weekend I’m done w this game

So glad they extended the event. I was missing two boxes from the first day. Got my first 4 toys at the changeover and set everyone to 4 hour tasks. A couple hours in I checked into see if anyone was having any luck and you just posted it wasn’t going to be a full 24 hours. So, after all my sleepless nights I decided to buy some clams. I HAD to have that creepy man doll in my Quahog! So for 40 clams (and the 12th and final box lol) I have my creepy bear man. Would never have gotten him without all the work you guys do, thanks! Now, back to getting Stewie!

So I just opened my last box possible for the tea party and still no rupert. I am super disappointed. I even bought clams so I could speed up the process and nothing. I could care less about the other prizes I won. Very disappointed, especially since a lot of people got Rupert so easily.

I just collected 6 Trap Jaw toys and OMG, I just won another dang, dansu dansu. I don’t need 3 of them and I already got all the other prizes! Unbelieve I thought I was finally going to win Rupert!

Why does the danu danu from the box earn 5 coins and 3xp when the one from the store gets 30 coins and 18xp dose tiny co kno that or did they program it that way

hmm both of mine earn $5, 3xp/ 10m. The 30 coin rate in the store is the per hr rate. Since it earns ever 10m it earns $30, 18xp/1hr 🙂

It’s really up to you. The longer you wait the less clams it will cost. I can tell you that I will be speeding up tasks to get that last box. (still no Rupert for me…I won him on my 11th box then the game crashed and I lost him)

I am so pissed at this mini event. I got everthing in this stupid mystery box apart from rupert, and I already had one of everything in the box anyways. This has even took a load of my clams just to be wasted on something I already have like Golddigger Island or even the Big Bubbly fountain, which I should have got as I haven’t unlocked District 8 yet. this has been a waste of a week and definitely a waste of my money, and worst of all I will now have to spend another $10 just to get rupert if he ever becomes available to buy, and if he doesn’t i’m out of 100 more clams. i am so pissed off at this event as it has been such a mock and a jest, and now I’m gonna have to potentially empty the rest of my money to get back on track for the next major event/update

Yep, screwed myself for the second time during this event. Didn’t even get 6 giraffes one the first day because 3 of the characters I needed were on long tasks. On the third day missed a couple alarms so didn’t finish collecting day 3 toys until early today. Kept checking to see if the new toy had dropped & eventually concluded I wasn’t going to get the extra toy so went back to other collecting tasks. THEN the toy drops. Don’t think I’ll even get one tea party box today, same as my first day of this event. No Ruppert for me.

Thank you for the extension tinyco! I opened my 11th box and still no rupert so I guess it comes down to my last box. I know ruperts the only thing left in there but I wont believe it til I see it lol. I spent a total of 128 clams on speeding up the character tasks because Im not at checking on my game while im sleeping. I didnt buy the decorations that drop toys because I think the clams were better spent just speeding up the tasks. I was hoping to get rupert on the 11th box and avoid getting a second dancu dancu but I found that the 2 fit together well and was able to make them look like one big dance club with 2 entrences so it worked out. Agai thank you tinyco and thank you addicts for keeping us informed!

Omg omg omg!! So after days of 4hr tasks and setting alarms to wake up at all hours(yes I have a job!), I was so unlucky, no Rupert. So today first box is RUPERT. and yes I did an “old school dance!” He looks kinda small compared to others but he IS a bear… Kinda.
So. There is hope! If u dt have him keep at it. ALSO All this time I was “Pinching my clams” ( dt know if pennies and clams are interchangeable here), and with Rupert it completes the “characters u buy” set giving me 100clams! I’m super happy.
*on an unrelated note. Rupert walked by Cleveland as he finished a task. Cleveland said “WHAT THE HELL!!” Rotflmbo He is kinda weird looking guys.
