Update 5:30PM EDT: An Update JUST hit Android devices…BUT this is NOT Comic-Con. Instead this is an update to prep the Android Devices for the event. However, it won’t roll out until the 31st.
Also, this should fix the issue of Android users not being able to visit iOS Neighbors. 🙂

So we’re not even 24hrs into the Comic-Con Event and already the questions are swarming! So I figured an Addicts Question Corner Post was in order. Hopefully I’ll answer the most burning questions about the update, but if you don’t see your question/answer just ask in the comments below & I’ll do my best to help you 🙂
So, I reached out to our good friends at TinyCo for confirmation on many of your questions & they delivered! Special thanks to the Community Team over there for keeping us up to date on everything TQFS!
The following answers have all been confirmed by TinyCo, BUT keep in mind it’s always subject to change…

-The Nerds-
How Much Blam! Do You Get For Zapping The Various Color Nerds?
Blue Nerds- 2 or 3 Blam!
Red Nerds- 10 Blam!
Yellow Nerds- 20 Blam!
How Often To the Nerds Spawn?
Blue Nerds- Every 15 m
Red Nerds- Every 4 hrs
Yellow Nerds- Every 6 hrs
Is It True Nerds Drop Clams?
Yes. There’s a chance a nerd will drop a clam instead of Blam!
How Do I Zap The Nerds?
Just tap on them. They’ll disappear & out will pop a Blam!

-The Game Zone-
If I Repair Them, Will I Get To Keep The Buildings In The Game Area When The Event Is Over?
No. The decorations & buildings in the game area (shown above) will leave when the event is over…even if you repair them.
What About the “Q”? That’s A Prize As Well, What Happens With That?
When you win the “Q” (after collecting 50,000 Blam!) that one is yours to keep forever. The “Q” you win can be placed in Quahog, whereas the “Q” in the game space cannot be moved from the game space. So yes, you will get 2 “Q” buildings. One you can keep and put in your town where ever you’d like and the other must remain in the game space.
-Characters and Costumes-
Will I Get To Keep Characters I Unlock During This Event?
Yes, if you completely unlock a character it’s yours forever. Meaning you collect all the required stuff for it. Same applies to costumes.
What Happens If I’m In the Middle Of Unlocking A Character & the Event Ends?
If you’re in the middle of unlocking a character when the event ends, that character will disappear. You must COMPLETELY unlock a character in order to have them stay in your game after the event.
The character WILL disappear if you haven’t unlocked it completely yet. (yes even if you only need 1 more item) Same applies to costumes.
-Device Issues-
My Device Keeps Crashing Since I’ve Updated to the Comic-Con Event. What Can I Do?
Check out this post for a response from TinyCo on the device crashing…
I Played The Event On My iOS Device & Now When I Try to Go Back To Android It Says I Need To Update. Why?!
If you’re playing this event on iOS (if you’ve even just logged into your town on iOS), your town automatically goes to the newest version of the game. That version is not yet available on Android. So it will tell you that you need to update, but an update is not available. Therefore you will be locked out of your game on Android until the update hits (7/31).
So, if you don’t have an iOS device that you can use for the next week…don’t log into your town on an iOS device until the update hits Android (or Kindle) next week. Otherwise you will be locked out.

Why Isn’t The Update On Android?
We don’t have a good answer for you, unfortunately. Our guess is it has something to do with App Market Contracts, but we don’t know for sure.
When Can I Download it On Android?
July 31st, 2014…so next Thursday.
Will The Event Be Longer For Android Players, Since They Start A Week Later Than iOS?
At this point we don’t know. I don’t want to speculate on it because we won’t know until it hits Android (and Kindle) next week.

I am wondering if TC is trying to bait people into buying the BLAM Buildings early. The way they have CAPTAIN HAMMERED set up is that one of the required items can be dropped by S&M&MORE. The thing cost 2000 Bs. I also finished building the FURRY DUNGEON which was required for a Quagmire quest. The way it looks like is that these buildings aren’t limited to 1 each. And it would be very helpful if you were able to get even at least 2 of each and then they do happen to drop items in the future. In my opinion, building the S&M&M to get those cocktails was well worth it since it frees Peter to do his 1 minute task. The thing is 2 scenarios are bugging me. First, the Blam buildings do end up dropping items, but TC suddenly decides to switch them to 1 building each only. (Would be really pissed at myself for not grabbing multiples of the buildings while still able to). Second scenario is that TC does bait me into buying multiples, and spending a lot of Blam in the process, but then apparently said buildings wouldn’t be dropping items in the future. But as they would be releasing several outfits and characters practically at the same time, or one after the other, I can’t imagine them not utilizing said buildings for drops. Anybody else thinking of buying multiples of these buildings?

Just wanted to comment on the “Platform issue.”
I play on android, but I used an iPad mini about 10 days ago to access my account and get Peter’s Golden Suit. Then I read on this website that even if I get it, it won’t transfer to my Android account anyways! so I let it go. Yesterday, the app on android showed a message saying the update will be available on 31st. I checked back an hour later and there it was!! Comic-con! The funny thing was, though I could see the comic-con in the background, there was a message saying I will get it on July 31st! Have been playing it since last night with absolutely no issue and I’m trying to unlock Patrick Stewart as we speak! 😀

Anyone notice TinyCo changed prices on some buildings? Not cool in my opinion but that’s just me. I thought they were actually taking a turn and heading in the right direction boy was I wrong.

Yea, I think it was initially a mistake in the programming (like the askjeeves.com building). We updated the rundown post with the new prices. Mistakes happen, it happened with EA to on TSTO when they had Maude released for 40 donuts & was then increased to over 100.

ODD but way cool! I have an old i-Phone 4S that still works with Wi-Fi. I updated the game, got the splash screen that said “A new update is available. Refresh your Quahog” or something to that effect. But I didn’t on the iOS because I wanted to click my checkmarks for PB&J Brian first on my Driod. When I went to my Driod, it said “update the game” and took me to Google Play. Ran the update, and opened the game. BEHOLD Comic-Con and it appears to be fully working on my Driod. I’m collecting BLAM and repairing the Clamerprise as I type. I’ve got the phone booth, etc and the 46 day timer is counting down, quest are BLAM Prizes pt 2., My little Furry and Quahog Comic-Con Pt 3…. very interesting, wasn’t even trying to get around anything….

I think this is a totally awesome update! It’s so cool not being able to visit most of my neighbors, as well as knowing that I’m gonna get screwed out of the higher-tier prizes because TinyCo won’t bother making them realistically accessible to Android users without spending clams… clams that, ironically, we’re missing out on the opportunity to get free because we don’t have the update, don’t have nerds who can drop clams roaming our towns, and can’t visit most of our neighbors to try and collect clams from them. Bravo, but why don’t you just be *(#&$ing honest next time and make it a straight-up pay to play event? Anyway, I’m gonna go play – and pay – another game, one that’s a little bit more fair. Or at least a little bit more honest about not caring when it’s not fair. Not that it even matters, but yeah, there goes the last chance of my ever spending money on this game.

How do you know that? Are you psychic? Secretly spying on TinyCo? Travelled back in time to warn everyone of the dire future you’ve already lived where Android players are rounded up and forced to spend their money on celebrity cameos?
Or are you just jumping the gun out of some combined desperation and pessimism?
It’s unfair that Android has to wait but it’s clearly not TinyCo’s fault (it doesn’t benefit them in the slightest) and getting the update out to the most people in time for ComicCon is obviously important (hard to do a tie-in a week after the fact).
Remember, you should do the thinking bit before you start typing.

Thank you SO much for all of this info! I seem to be getting 3 blue nerds every 7-8 minutes. (Timed it a few times.) I also experienced a neat little glitch where I could crash my game, and a red nerd would automatically be spawned upon entering the game again. However, it only worked about 10-15 times, and now doesn’t.

I got that trick to work by force closing my app last night. Got almost all wizard books. Only worked for about an hour though. And I had to wait a couple mins. for him to appear.

That trick only works when you have the quest to “beam up 15 red nerds”. Quahog Comic-Con pt 5. Once you hit the 15 mark, the red shirts stop appearing upon logging in.

Regarding the nerds…does anyone know how many nerds are supposed to be spawning every 15 min, 4 hrs, 6hrs? I have had a lot of blue but just a couple of red so far and no yellow and I’ve been playing throughout the day so I was expecting to see a few more.

I just want to say this is crap that I have to sit here and hear BLAM! bLAM! BLAM! as my bf sits there and does his F.G. while I sit here not BLAMING because I have droid…..really truely unfair. Yes I’m whinning…ugh!! Also during the birthday bash I received 2 gifts that disappeared after I received them…they were supposed to go into my inventory….which they did….10 min later I went to but them somewhere and they were gone!!! I’m upset because one of them was the stewie billboard! Ugh is it 7/31 yet!?!?! I can’t take this anymore!

That’s nice and all but I saw someone post (can’t remember to which thread) that they hoped the android surprise would still be available to them even though they only got the event cos they started it on iOS and the “visit facespace friends” update made it playable on android.
Surely the point of an android special is those players are a week behind. I still can’t believe someone said that “I’m playing from the beginning, I want that week behind special too!”
Apple users already had a chance to get buildings for 25 clams, something that won’t happen for android.
Now they want the special with a week head start ‘cos they have android too? Jesus H.

ah, I doubt with everything they have to do they on a daily basis they have the time to bother for such a small number of players. The fact that the game locks up when you access an android game on an iphone it locks up because the game is then considered an iphone save tells me they wouldn’t have an east fix even if they wanted too.

Am I crazy or did the price of 2 event buildings change sometime today? I know I bought Chutes & Lads for about 20-25 clams. Was considering picking up A’Buncha Tools for time same price because these 2 items were so much affordable than the other premium items. Now both C&L and A’BT are 50 clams each. I know I didn’t pay 50 clams for C&L. What happened?

I think it’s an intentional loophole, going from iOS to droid. Apple is still getting what they asked for, and Tinyco gets an extra week of the hybrid players buying clams 🙂

Seems like I only need Bonnie and Bruce for Patrick Stewart.
Suggestion: 4 hour timers. Red nerds are 4, Bonnie is 4, and all the other multitask crap you are doing is probably in 4/8/12.
Always do your quest actions first, even if they don’t get you an ‘item’ chance. In this mysterious time, you never know when quest progression will net you a free item, a new task, or a new unlock potential. YOU JUST DON’T KNOW! Do you quests first.
If you have useless characters, keep them on 4 hour or less tasks. You do NOT want them locked up for long periods of time when they become useful.

Great question! We’re working on a detailed post for this and it should be up soon 🙂 (usually joint tasks are the best because they earn double. But only if they’re with a non blam! earning character.)

Despite the fact that Android should not have the event, I can play it on my Android phone. I “activated” it by starting it on my iPad and after the update in the Play Store I’m able to play the event on my phone as well. I do get the regular loading screen and the popup with the announcement of event, but afterwards I can continue.

It seems the update allows you to play the Comic-con quests if you have already unlocked it in an iOs device? I could see the Convention center, dematerialize blue geeks, and collect Blam, not sure about starting related quests as I didn’t have any to start right then.

Not happy right now you need pizza slices to unlock Patrick’s to the only character that drops pizza slices is Bonnie but it is the same task that drops jewels for stewie since I don’t have stewie unlocked yet so Bonnie working it is a multiple prizewinner so of course I got the jewels which other characters also drop and not a pizza slice which is unique to her why Tinyco why

I’m OBSESSED with Nathan Fillion (I’m binge watching Castle as I type) and I will pay any amount of clams to have him, so he better not be unavailable to iOS users (I’ve got both, couldn’t play on Droid for a while, but notice yesterday an update and can play ComicCon on it too now)

I’m kind of frustrated with the spawn rate for red nerds considering they are needed to unlock Patrick Stewart so if this is going to be the way it is with all the other characters as well then is going to be impossible to get everything unlocked since I repaired my Klamath spare and had Patrick Stewart appear in my game over eight hours ago not a single item needed to unlock him has dropped it is like this event is designed to force you to have to spend the clams to unlock characters costumes and prizes

I’ve had Bruce on blueprints for the past 5 days and Chris never got sandwiches basically at all. It was all fat Meg!!
I did unlock Carter last night though with pirate peter before I unlocked his costume task. Just Stewie now!
Gonna spam quagmires task until he becomes event-relevant and Herbert? Lets just say Herbert is a huge little league fan….for the next two weeks haha

I started ComicCon on my iPad earlier today, and ComicCon is now working on my Nexus 7 after the Play Store update. So I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or it’s just me, but seems to be working fine for me on Android. Anyone else try this?

I play on both an iOS and an Android device. I (of course) downloaded the iOS update so I could start the Comic Con event as soon as possible and try to avoid some of the last minute headaches I had with the Booty event. Before this little Android update appeared I couldn’t play on my S4, like you’ve stated here. BUTTT…now with this little update, I try to log in to my game on my S4 and Blam! – there’s the new content and I’m able to play on my Android. 🙂
Just wanted to say there may be some folks out there who can play on Android, given they have an iOS device available to log into and d/l the new event. Although I’m hoping this doesn’t prevent me from getting the Android prize when it rolls out a week from now 🙂

so in about 46 days ihave to unlock 4 costumes 7 character, only 2 are in game so far , takei being the final prize , how can i get at least 2200 blam! a day and get everything to unlock takei b4 everything disappears , they may make it easier but its not likely without clams

I have a few questions. One my Anubis and Nefertiti statues that I have in inventory now say a two hour build time. Those statues along with the hot lava tub now have the writing from this event. Is is just me or is this happening to other. I have a question I have to wait to play on my android which is what I use when I am not home so will something special planned work only for those who had to wait or for anyone who uses android.

I’ve unlocked all of the Harrington outfits (19/19), but I still have the hanger icon over the building. Tried fully closing and rebooting iPhone; no dice. Any thoughts?

That’s what I think too, although the hanger usually only appears after a new outfit becomes available to earn, not before it’s unlocked within the game. We’ll see…
