Hello There Clammers!
Comic Con is now LIVE on Android. No need to hit up the app store. Just start your game as normal and you’ll get a popup to reload to start the special event. Do that and Comic-Con will load on your device!
Update: Ok…apparently there IS an App Store Update for Android as well. The event WILL start with out going to the app store. It appears that update is just for the event graphics (splash screen and icon)

Ha!! was going to point out the fact that as an Android user we start with only 40 days but it seems that everyone else noticed this as quickly. When Tinyco said that they had a special surprise for Android users they weren’t kidding lol. Have a feeling that the free gift will be something that gives blam but they are waiting for it to only give us the amount we would of gotten if we started last week….if we hit it perfectly everytime x hours over the next x days….which would be kinda scuzzy. Either way very happy to finally have the event. only need 3 more blueprints for Stewie and the last two lands I need are 30 and 25k respectfully. Thanks for the updates 😉

I think the free gift is just as likely to be too little to make any sort of difference. TinyCo has time and again demonstrated their incompetence at creating events that can be completed in a reasonable manner.

Patience. the event barely just started. You still have over 35 days to finish it. You have no idea what next week (or any week) will bring in terms of blam! earning. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Their goal is to get you to play the game every, single day. If you maxed everything out and finished the event on day 1 (or in week 1) you wouldn’t be playing. It’s a challenge…that’s the fun in it. Wait and see what’s up ahead before you rush to judgement 🙂

I can’t get the Shuttle in 3 day, nor if I use clams. I hope that Android players will get minimum 1000 extra Balm! tomorrow, or most of us will never get that space ship.

Why can’t you get the shuttle?
The event quests you get when starting give BLAM, you should have enough to start repairing the Clamterprise straight away and have enough left over that you’re not too far from starting the hotel. Just avoid any other quest that wants you to spend BLAM, like Quagmire’s second quest or unlocking Patrick Stewart and you should be fine.
I started late at night (UK) done a couple of event quests, started the his first quest and then had enough to start repairing the hotel. I have 328 BLAM right now with 2 days and 9 hours left, so that’s 1 day and 17 hours to collect 672 more BLAM.

I started late at night (UK) done a couple of event quests, started the Clamterprise, went to sleep, woke up, clicked some nerds, sent Quagmire on his first quest and then had enough to start repairing the hotel. Getting the Shuttle is easy even if you play free, I haven’t bought any items that drop Blam! and am already repairing the convention center. 3 days is more than enough time.

So if I play the game on my ipad but also have it installed on my android phone, will anything new happen when I open it up on my phone today? I downloaded the update and have been playing comic con on IOS all week and don’t want to lose my progress if I open on android.

Switching back and forth for this event often, i don’t log out. As long as you don’t have the game open on the other device you should be good. 🙂

That would strike me as not really fair. If the point of the exclusive Android prize is to try to make it up to players who had to wait a week to start this event, rewarding it to players who did not have to wait seems like shady business.

It has nothing to do with that. It is an item that will be linked to a specific device. The same goes for the iOS “exclusive” Gold Peter. If you log into an iOS product and get him, then go back to your Android device…you get to play him. So iOS could say the same. They have no control over those with multiple devices. Regardless, the fact they are trying to make something right to Android is a HUGE step from a company. I don’t see any other gaming houses taking such steps to help their players. Not a single one so far.

Gold Peter is not the same. He was not part of a timed event. He doesn’t earn more/additional money. He doesn’t drop items. The fact that he isn’t immediately available on android does not create an un-level playing field for anyone for anything – unlike starting a timed event a week early.
They know what devices people are playing on and they *should* know when a player started the event. That’s really all the info you would need in my opinion to be fair.
And they are trying to right a wrong. Their wrong. Pissing off half (or more) of your customers is not good for business.
To be fair to other gaming houses, I don’t see anyone else releasing timed events at vastly different times based on OS (but maybe I’m wrong). I originally thought it was an app store approval thing, but the fact that we didn’t need an app store update to start indicates something else. Would really like to know what the issue was. Unless it was completely out of their control, I don’t see a good reason to stagger releases.
I’m not bashing TinyCo. They seem to listen to their players more than other companies. And stuff like this aside, seem to put out a solid product that doesn’t crash nearly as much as that other game about that other FOX cartoon family. 🙂 I’m just saying if they launched this event on android and iOS at the same time, android wouldn’t be getting anything. And giving both android and android/iOS players the same “prize” doesn’t really level the playing field. It just tilts it even more in favor of multi-device players.

My game crushes all the time on nexus 10. It’s not an old device and i’ve deleted and installed the game twice already and it didn’t help. I’ve been playing this game since it just arrived, and it looks like TinyCo never improved the game so it won’t crash. They just keep adding new stuff and never stop to check how it works on different devices. I am really close to quit playing because of this…

Could be a space issue on the device. I know TC is working hard to repair a lot of the crashing issues (check out this post: https://familyguyaddicts.com/2014/06/13/crash-test-dummies/), but with the new content with his update it’s causing a strain on a lot of devices. Do you have the ability to add an SD card to your device? That might help the crashing issue.

I am getting butts instead of bam! I have a friend who still has the full moon event in their town. I’m not concerned yet but I just want to confirm that this won’t mess up my game and progress?

No it won’t. It’s a known glitch that happens when visiting a friend that has Full Moon still, unfortunately.

Great job on those! It’s funny as soon as I mentioned no Plutonium falling in my WTH last week they started falling like crazy. Only need 1 more for Stewie and 7 more Blueprints 🙂 A little advantage to not updating my A game to Comic Con when it hit iOS 😉

Is it just me or will things be a little pushed. I mean I already am having quite a few characters working on tasks to unlock Patrick Stewart and Captain Hammered and tomorrow they are releasing yet another celebrity for which I will have to do even more to unlock. It’s at this point I really think that extra week would have really come in handy.

I still haven’t gotten the Comic Con update and I’m on the East Coast. I’ve restarted the game and phone several times. I sent a message to TinyCo. Do you think I need to uninstall and then reinstall the game?

That was the update that contained all of the details for Comic Con, then yesterday they just “pushed the red button” and launched it. Of course there’s another app store update as well for it, but that just changes the Splash Screen and Icon.

Well I have to say I’m doing pretty good so far. I am two hours away from the Q Hotel finishing up and I just started the timer for the convention center. So I’m guaranteed the rocket as long as it doesn’t glitch or something (knock on wood) lol.

My problem is it keeps saying I am missing a file since the update. Anyone else getting this? I really want to play still, but I don’t know if I should uninstall-reinstall. I don’t want to lose everything.

As long as your game is linked to an email or Facebook account, you’re fine. Go ahead and uninstall/reinstall, then follow the instructions in this post.

I logged in earlier and found the update and haven’t stopped playing yet!! Although my game has locked up on me a couple times I’ve already earned 800 blam. What can I say, I’m an addict and I love this site!

I’m not really sure where this goes, so I’m just gonna say it here. I’ve noticed that sometimes the red nerds will drop 20 Blam! instead of 10 and the Yellow nerds sometimes drop 30. Don’t know if anyone else has seen this of if I’m all alone.

If you are getting 30 Blam sometimes, either they have now increased the amounts (which I could see happening sooner or later) or maybe that’s the surprise…(more Blam than iOS players). 😉
But, I hope you actually get something cool to atone for the long wait.

I noticed this on iOS this morning. A red nerd have me 20 blam also. Another thing to possibly add is I logged in after 8 hours inactivity and had 6 yellow nerds roaming. Either they have increased the spawn rates in line with android stores hitting up or maybe I just clocked 2 sets of nerds in that inactive time. Who knows, but more blam is always a good thing!

We also had a report of a gold nerd giving out 30 Blams. Sounds like TinyCo is following there “event” pattern of increasing payouts as the events move forward.

Aww Double D…I’d miss you too much if you left the game!! I can tell you they’re VERY aware of Android players displeasure with the gap in play time & something is coming. What we don’t know, but they’re a smart company. They know they need to do something to address the concerns of the Android (and kindle) players about the gap. Hang in there. Something is coming. 🙂

Cybersilly, Scotty and Alissa… thank you all for your kind and thoughtful replies. I was obviously very annoyed when I saw that Android users were seemingly being forced to join an ongoing event at a one week disadvantage. I’m still not sure about the ‘math’ of this situation. Some quick calculations (based on Bunny’s iOS calendar) suggests that Android’ers will need to get an extra 400ish Blams per day to catch up with iOS’ers.
No matter; this event really is a great deal of fun ~ especially for life-long Star Trek fans like yours truly. Yeah, I was born several years before TOS “Boldly Went”. So I’m gonna stick around for a week (or two) and see how it goes.
I’m also going to resist the urge to spend clams on any of the Blam yielding items for a while – just in case TinyCo’s ‘something special’ for Android users turns out to be giving us one of them for free.
BTW, DrewDabble mostly tries to keep things PG-13ish ~ so in case y’all were wondering… ESAD = Eat Stuff and Disappear 😉

My game crashes every time!!! after I repaired the clamterprize and talk to Patrick steward. Now I’m stuck in that conversation. It freezes, throws me out or I get error: bad allocation. Or something

What device do you play on? Older devices are having trouble handling the memory needs of the game.

My samsung galaxy s2 is running the game fine since the last update(few days ago) and no ill affects from this 1 either. Before my game would crash every job collection/set, every item drop and even when loading so they have made some effort. I no my fone has 300-400 mb free ram when i start playing so if you can get that much free you should be ok. 1 thing i have heard helps is to remove any automated task killing apps as they constantly use the ram you want for gaming so they make tge issue worse not better. If you find you device is hording ram restart it and take note of total free ram, when you have your fresh start total you can compaire it against your ram before you play ie if you run at 500mb after a restart then after a few hours your using say 700 you know to do another restart before you play. I know its a pain but ifound it helped when having massive crash issues

How much blam you get for each task makes no sense to me. Why make Peter do an 8 hour task for 8 blam when I can do the bird for 8 minutes at equal value? I also I all these new characters could earn blam. Why even bother introducing them if theyre not gonna earn anything. I’ll have stewie in the morning so this event keeps me interested I guess. Takei would be cool. Idk why.

Finally! Been waiting to long for this to come to android missed out on a whole week already got two buildings tho and bought the lil bar a lil to much but need it to catch up been playing since it came out been sending Peter on his minute task for hours only hate it cuz I work from 7 to 530 but can’t complain that extra money paying for my phone bill and clams lol just hope I’ll have enough to get everything in the end got everything from past events so far so gud 🙂

Well I have been playing the new event for 2 hours I already bought the bar I have a lot of catching up to do. I have the Q Building and the clamterpise being repaired as we speak already as well. I’m waiting to buy the trucks to see if a free one is the special thing the Android users get for the week delay.

My game has literally crashed over 50 times since the update I have only plated about 10 combined minutes tops since I updated at 10 and that took an army to do….. Help!? Or just try my best?

There will mostly likely be a new set of challenges with glitches with this roll out for the new platform. Same game but different programming. Make sure you try the standard troubleshooting procedures and send a message to TinyCo so they can track the trend for your device.

Yep a nexus 10 I’m not sure but it has been terrible this time! I’m so frustrated at how much it crashes and I’ve wrote tiny co. In app so maybe they can fix it. Also I’ve had a problem with social for so long I’ve forgot what the other town is called… Contacted them about that as well. All I know is I’m losing valuable time and blam! 😦

I doubt it will make up for the slap in the face of every android user the have. I hope Apple is giving them something equal to the money they have just flushed away with this “staggered” release, because they lost my money. I have and was planning on buying more clams. But not anymore.

I am sorry you feel that way. They ALWAYS released android first. This is one time they were second. So iOS has been behind majority of time. That being said, TinyCo still has something lined up for Android for the delay. But if you feel the game is not appealing to you, that is your choice.

I agree with Bunny. However, there hasn’t yet been an update gap this huge. One week is a long time…One day gaps between Android and Apple is not as big a deal for an event, but a whole week is fairly ridiculous. Best idea would have been to postpone the Apple launch until Android could get it, and then Tiny Co wouldn’t be in a mess with these Android users.

I will continue playing until I find out if Android gets a decent plus tomorrow. If not, I may still play the game in order to just have fun with it, but I’m afraid the event doesn’t interest me in the first place. Who knows? 🙂 We’ll see what happens!

I look at the site as a communal family….yes we each have different device favorites, but that has nothing to do with our common love…..This Game. Just curious, does anyone else have the title “Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff” kinda show up as double on their loading page? It’s no big deal, I’ve just noticed that on mine it seemed like they’d tried to move the title, but accidentally copied, pasted, and moved the copy rather than move the original.

This was a “bug” when the event first loaded on the iOS systems. It would appear that android users might experience some of the same issues. Give them a day or three to knock out the roll out bugs. 😉

Android players have close to 40 days for this event. That means approx 2,500 blams are needed each day to reach 100,000! I hope TinyCo’s special surprise for us android users is something to speed up the blam collecting process – a free blam truck would be nice!

Yes. I had 106 Butts. I logged out logged back in 103 Blam. It went from Blam to butts after about 9 nerds. The last three earned butts.

Lol. I heard a few reporting this before. This is my question to you, did you by chance visit a neighbor that still had not updated from Kingdom Event? I know that was causing it to change from Blam to Butt when you returned.

Right before the event I visited a neighbor, came back to my town and it told me to reload. Yeah, wrong order but probably the same glitch. I’m getting blam after restarting now so not major. At first I thought that was the surprise. 😀

Read your “help” section in the main menu. It’s listed there. Same thing happens to me every “visit” sweep. It has no effect on your game and IMO kinda funny. 😉

Anyone know what the coathanger icon is over al harringtons? All my costumes are unlocked, there is nothing new there. Maybe an upcoming bonus costume for making us wait a week?

Happy this event has started for all of us now, but am a little disappointed that the event timer wasn’t reset for us to start at 48 days. Hopefully the surprise for us involves double XP for the 1st week or something like that so we can catch up.
