Dropping in with a fun new feature to hit our games once you enter District 9 and repair the News Station (and clear the land surrounding it)…the Tom Tucker Mystery Box!
This is a Premium Mystery Box, 30 clams a try, but intended to help you unlock Tom Faster! Here’s what’s inside…. *This will go away as soon as you unlock Tom Tucker. So make sure you have all your goodies before hitting that unlock.
Satellites- 1, 2 or 3 (10 required to unlock Tom)
Moustache Cream- 1, 2 or 3 (8 required to unlock Tom)
Microphones- 1, 2 or 3 (20 required to unlock Tom)
Action Slates– 1, 2 or 3 (12 required to unlock Tom)
Hindenpeter- Worth 200 Clams
Cripletron- Worth 750 Clams
Peterang- Worth 50 Clams
Pawtucket Ale Truck- Worth 40 Clams
Daggermouth’s Cave- Worth 200 Clams
Peter’s Pirate Car- Worth 150 Clams
Gigantic Beanstalk- Worth 225 Clams
Open Flame Garden- Worth 175 Clams
Golden Peter Statue-Worth 1,000 Clams
Like Mystery Boxes before there are no duplicate decoration prizes can be won in this box. However, if you already have the item you can still win it in the box. So if you won it from another mystery box or you purchased it you can still win it again in this box.
So there you have it my friends…the complete details on the Tom Tucker Mystery Box! I purchased 1 myself and won 3 Satellites…don’t know if I’ll press my luck much more beyond that though!

For anyone in the future…
I just spent 810 clams cleaning out the mystery box. (Don’t ask me why I spent that much, but I’ve been waiting for this ever since I first read this post.) That’s 27 tries.
I wish I would have waited to collect more Tom Tucker items before doing this. As I got those items, they disappeared from the box.
But I got everything… I got Crippletron pretty early, followed by Pawtucket Ale Truck and Peter’s Pirate Car (both of which I already had). It took until the end to get the beanstalk. Golden Peter was the very last item in the box for me.

Don’t listen to her….it doesn’t disappear once u collect everything for Tom. The mystery box will still be there when u collect the last item for him. It WILL disappear once u push the unlock button on him. So finish all the items for him then grab everything u want in the box and THEN push the tom unlock button. Bunny doesn’t make it clear for people until u repeatedly ask her and Alissa gives u wrong info (which woulda cost u some extra clams) and now they’ll give u excuses on why they wrote those.

And if I constantly give you wrong info…maybe, just maybe you should go find another site to read.

So i just need two more satellite dishes and I’ll have tom completely unlocked.
You know how once you collect all the items a little yellow check mark appears over that item? If I have all the items to unlock him but haven’t actually unlocked him (not clicking the check marks) will I still be able to use his mystery box?
I’m trying to make it so whenever I use the mystery box I get an item worth clams.

After you collect the last item for Tom Tucker, DO NOT touch him. Go straight to the Mystery Box.

Has anyone found out if the Tom Tucker items from the Mystery Box disappear if you have collected them already through actions; leaving just the clam prizes or does the box close once you’ve got all the Tom Tucker items taking away your chance at the clam items? Thanks.

Can anyone tell me when the box becomes available I have finished building the news station have all the land cleared and I’m building the town hall (no I don’t have Tom unlocked I haven’t even started working on him) thanks for the help I’m hoping to get the gold Peter statue

It comes with Tom. So once you unlock him to start collecting, you should see it.

How is everyone already unlocking Tom? It took me till Monday to finish the blimp stuff, and now I am just unlocking the third strip of land in front of the station. So I still have to rebuild the station before Tom will be ready to be unlocked…

Kinda sucks for me. Except for crippletron, I have all of those items. Spent clams. So no need for me to use it. Wish I’d have known something like this was about to come along. Would’ve saved me quite a bit of clams. 😦

got all for under 500 clams. Still needed two clapper-boards to unlock Tom when I brought last two boxes for the cripletron and golden peter statue. Still need two clapperboards, but am unable to buy any boxes now. Don’t finish Tom until you get the boxes you want.

I’m getting fairly close to unlocking Tom. I’m going to wt until I get down to just one or two items left and try my luck. I just bought 600 more clams. If this works then 30 clams a piece is a steal. I think it probably will, I don’t see them letting you win extra unlock items you don’t need. If anyone else is closer to getting Tom and tries this please let us know. If not. I’ll be bock.

It didn’t hit for me is it coz I used clams to get tom tucker (I do own all prizes except for 2 the golden peter and hindenpeter not really bothered bout them but am a completeist lol) is this a factor tho

So, I guess the message from TinyCo is NEVER pay full price for any clam decorations because you will get a massive discount if you wait awhile. Good to know.

I want to in hopes of getting crippletron and a couple other premium prizes but I dont want to pay a bunch of clams and just get a bunch of tom tucker items. To hard of decision.

I get that some people want to buy these things and I respect that, but what’s the point in paying real money to get something done faster that you could just do slower for free? All that’s gonna happen is you’re gonna run out of new content sooner.
It just seems really wasteful to me.

That’s how TinyCo makes their money– for those who want to unlock characters faster and don’t have all the time to invest in the game (due to work, school, etc.). If nobody spends a cent in the game, then this game will be gone. I thank the other players for paying real money in the game (I spent a bundle last event alone) to keep this game alive.

Ok so if my math is right (lol it may not be) it would take 21 attempts to get everything at 30 clams a pop that’s 21×30=630 sounds pretty good to me but I wanted to look a lil further so there’s 9 non Tom items then the 4 items for Tom (which you can get 6 of each so 24 total items) that’s 33 total items so 630 total clams for 33 total items 630÷33=19. 09….. so just barley over 19 clams per item sounds like a sweet deal to me lol specially for the golden Peter statue lol hope this helps if you were thinking of trying your luck on the box =) the 9 clam items added up equal 2790 clams not toentire how much it would cost to buy the Tom items with clams lol =)

I haven’t got to this bit yet due to my Blimp being lost in a glitch. But given I won the Pawtucket Truck, Pirate Peter Car & Open Flame from the Rupert Mystery Box, I’m not really for this box as I could potentially repeat items. Had they been out of the box because of owning them already, I’d give it a go to get the bigger items.

I’ve wanted crippletron and dagger mouth from the beginning but earning a clam a day has put them out of reach so this one may be for me. By the way wasn’t the Q hotel supposed to keep spawning nerds after comicon to let you have a chance for clams?

What exciting things to look forward too. I just finished getting Anime Peter and Tricia is on her first task. I still have PB&J Brian, Falconer Peter, and now Stewie to work on…I have a long way to go to catch up with everyone. But having fun doing it. I don’t play like I did during Comic Con (every 15 mins when I could) not it’s like ever hr. on the days that permit it. Enjoy your day everyone, and PLAY ON!!!

All those premium items either have been or probably will be given out in future events anyway, no point in spending cash on them. Save your clams for when quality, limited items show up.

I’m barely clearing land for district 9 well the last strip so heads up to everyone who hasn’t got to district 9 once you collect all the parts for the blimp u have to do one more quest with Brian n stewie then u have to unlock 2 strips of land before you can unlock the last strip to get to Tom Tucker which takes 40 hours total not including the 8 to unlock the news station which makes it 48 hours so two days total unless you use clams which cost 88 for each strip of land so that’s where I’m at right now unlocking the last strip n still have to unlock the building and Tom Tucker n who knows what else coming out Thursday so hopefully everyone still have patience after collecting all that plutonium n unlocking this land cuz we still have to get Tom Tucker >.< Lol

If you collect his unlock items, do those disappear from the box? Say if you wanted some of the clam prizes, could you collect almost all of the unlock drops, and then start using the mystery box?

That would be my assumption…honestly I haven’t tested it that far. It didn’t pop up in my B game, since I unlocked Tom last week to get the details on the walkthrough for you guys. My A game is where this prompted.

Almost at district 9. Really excited about this box as I didn’t purchase any of these items so I may be blowing the 500 plus clams I have left over from the comiccon event.
30 clams is fairly reasonable for most of these prizes

I already had all the clam items other than the golden peter statue, so when I opened the mystery box and looked at the prizes, It only had the items I needed for Tom Tucker and the golden peter statue so I thought why not give it a go. After a couple of attempts I got the golden peter statue! 1000 clam item for 90 clams. Bargain! So im well happy 😀

Thanks, still can’t believe it. Wish I had got a screenshot but as soon as I saw I had won it I quickly placed it and viewed my friends to make it sync incase the game crashed.
Should the other clam items have been in the box like it says in the post above or how it was in my game where if I had them they weren’t in there?

Yes, they should still appear. They’ll only leave the box if you win it in that box. For example I won the pirate car with Rupert’s Tea Party…it’s still showing up in the Tom Tucker Mystery Box…

I won’t purchase any. I’m patient with unlocks when there’s not a time limit and I don’t have to have any of those items. I have the ale truck from something else and the scale bugs the hell out of me. I think it would fit in the back of the ice cream truck.

That’s an absurdly good deal and the only way you lose clams is getting 1 Microphone or Action Slate. Everything else is a total win, especially some of those high priced clam additions.

Well, I would start with questioning the word “worth”, but putting that aside…
If you JUST used mystery boxes to get Tom, best case scenario it would cost you:
4 boxes for Satellites
3 boxes for Moustache Cream
7 boxes for Microphones
4 boxes for Action Slates
——————————————
18 boxes * 30 clams = 540 clams
worst case scenario:
9 boxes for the “decoration prizes” (i.e., no earning potential)
10 boxes for Satellites
8 boxes for Moustache Cream
20 boxes for Microphones
12 boxes for Action Slates
——————————————
59 boxes * 30 clams = 1770 clams!
The more likely outcome would be in the middle someplace, so 1155 clams to get Tom this way!
How many clams would it be just to outright PURCHASE him (not there yet, still a few blimp items to collect – yes, the darn plutonium)

Oh yeah, forgot the money issue (Dr. Economist?)… Assuming you only buy 3500 clams at $99.99:
540 Clams is $15.43
1770 Clams is $50.57
Which averages out at:
1155 Clams being $33!
Well, no one is FORCING us to spend $$$s. But after hearing today that these successful freemium games can pull in $1M+ a day? I think they have enough of MY $$$s – I officially declare myself a pure freemium player (who has a few clams in the bank).

regardless of what you get, which will no doubt be highly biased to teh cheaper end and only one or two of the others, it still costs 30 clams, and buying clams is not cheap, and gaining them is rediculaously hard, one per day IF your lucky….. I love the game, but some of these tasks take way too long to complete, and you lose teh will to live after two weeks trying to open the same thing.
