Hello There Clammers!
So last night we got a little Halloween preview in Quahog! Each day a bucket of candy will appear in Quahog…collect the candy each day (which should appear random in color) to unlock Pink Brian!
Full rundown on this can be found here, but this post is more just a reminder. A reminder that at 12pm PDT the candy will reset and a second piece will be available to collect. So make sure you log into your game BEFORE 12pm PDT if you haven’t already collected your candy from last night to do it then, and log into your game AFTER 12pm PDT to collect piece number 2!
Also, a few helpful hints….
First, candy will only appear on the sidewalks. So if you’re having trouble finding it try (BEFORE 12pm PDT) removing some of your roads to make it easier to find it.
Second, I believe you may need Brian to have this trigger for you. We’re still waiting on official confirmation from TinyCo on it, but it seems to be the case. Most of you saying it hasn’t started for you also say you don’t have Brian unlocked yet. So we’re thinking the two are related. However, if you don’t have Brian and still see the event going in your town please let us know. 🙂 UPDATE BUNNY: You must have Brian unlocked in order to start the Jack-o-Lantern quests. Brian is in District 6. You will not be able to unlock Pink Brian and/or collect candy unless you are past this point.
If you are past that, then look to see where your Jack O Lantern is. Just go to the task bar and tap on Pink Brian quest and open the info. The details will pop up right over the top of where it is. Tall buildings can hide it. I was able to move it to better spot.
Third, clicking GO under the candy in the event menu (inside the pumpkin or by clicking on the Brian icon with the timer in the task bar) will NOT take you to the candy. I thought it might, as did many of you, but I just tried it in my B game (I didn’t collect the candy there last night) and it didn’t work. So, removing the roads might be your best option if you’re having trouble finding the candy.
Finally, the candy is triggered each day by collecting rent from a building. So, if it’s after 12pm PDT and you’re not seeing candy, try collecting $ from a building. Once you do this it should signal the candy to drop.
Also, remember…
1 Candy per day will appear in your Quahog and there will be ONLY 1 candy in your Quahog at a time (and only 1 per day). That Candy Resets at every day at Noon PDT. So if you trigger the candy at 8am PDT today and don’t have it BEFORE 12 noon PDT…no mater the time left… it resets at Noon PDT. So the closer you start to just before Noon, the less time you have to find it.
If a Candy Bucket is available, it will appear randomly in your Quahog after you collect rent from any building. So keep a close eye out for it. It can be one of the 3. Also, it is easy to accidentally tap it… so watch for just a candy too. Both are very small in size.
If you do NOT collect the 1 Candy within 12 hours of it dropping in your game, it disappears forever. (Or until Noon reset. Whichever comes first.) So make sure you find it and snag it up right away. That means if you collect from your buildings at … let’s say 2pm PDT and the candy bucket is triggered…you will ONLY have til 2am PDT tomorrow to find it. 12 hours.

Since it is day two and you get 1 a day, you’re right on track. The reset time is Noon PDT each day

Hey, Just to let you know, I collected mine for the first time now (didn’t get how to find them before reading this, so thanks! :D) and had TWO pieces of candy in my town – fluke or they might be there for longer than 12 hours?

Once a day drop…BUT as soon as YOU trigger the candy to drop by collecting rent YOU only have 12 hours to find the candy.

Best thing is to go into move mode then click the road place tool, this makes all the buildings transparent so anything behind them is easy to spot.

I’m happy to know I’m not the only one unable to find my pumpkim. I’ve looked everywhere. There are no sparklies floating up anywhere. On a positive note, I have been able to find both candies so far. To check my progress I just click on the task. I’m sure on the last day of this event I will find that dang pumpkin

Trying opening the pink brian quest from your menu on the side. Tap on it. See of it takes you to your pumpkin. Remember, it’s only 4×4 so CAN hide easily behind places. Mine was on waters edge

No, but I’m in the process of making his building to unlock him.
I don’t think I’ll have enough time to unlock Brian and get candy by October 4th with how limited the candy drops are to get Pink Brian. It either needs to be extended or be like Minion Stewie where the outfit is waiting for you unlock Brian.

i seen Pink Brian last night at 9pm CST when tapping on him it said Not ready. Then a 4am CST I didn’t even see the bucket but must of tapped when I was tapping building for rent. Then my Pumpkin is just right behind my houses. The second bucket after 3pm CST was just sitting right out in the open. SWEET!!! Good Luck Everyone! Have a Great Weekend! Here is a bit of math. If indeed the candy colors are completely random, then the probability of succeeding in getting at least 3 blue, 3 purple and 4 orange in 15 days is 9175166/14348907, which is about 64% chance. If it is 16 days, then the odds are 30938908/43046721, which is about 72% chance.
So I am going to guess or hope that the candy colors are not really going to be completely random, and just that the order is random in the sense that it is predetermined how many of each color will drop and that it is just that the order they drop will be random. Or else a lot of people (at least 28%) will not unlock Pink Brian if the candy colors are completely random.
By the way, my first two colors are purple and then orange.

I just found the red candy, but there wasn’t a pumpkin, it was just the sparkles, if you can’t find it, with the zoom at max “walk” in all your roads looking for the sparkles

Yay! I just got my second candy. I couldn’t find it and then realized that by using the road tool it makes all the buildings transparent…
But I would really like to thank TinyCo for the early release of this holiday event (or at least this pre-holiday teaser). My biggest pet peeve with that other game (TSTO) is them releasing holiday events close to the holiday rather than way in advance. I want to enjoy the lead into a holiday and not still be collecting candy or whatever well past the holiday. This early release teaser is wonderful (especially since the stores have been stocking Halloween stuff for weeks). So many thanks to TinyCo for having the game in sync with real life.
Now I just have to head off to the store and buy some purple candy…

Stil haven’t found the darn pumpkin. Yesterday I found the candy bucket. It’s after 12 here on the west coast & haven’t found today’s yet.
I did discover that if you go into the edit menu & turn on the street option that it turns the buildings see-through. not quite as convenient as TSTO but at least it’s something!
But question: If you click on the pink Brain in the task bar, click Go, click on a candy’s info button, & click go… If you get the Stewie Come back soon pop up, does that mean it hasn’t dropped yet & I don’t have to waste time looking for it?

Even after the 8.0 operating system update the voice to text on this phone sucks that should say I’ve had my first candy bucket yesterday no problem but now that it’s time for second candy bucket nothing is appearing in my town

Keep checking back. It is dropping at a random time for everyone. I would say just check back before midnight PDT and after midnight PDT a few times.

My new candy today was red and it was hiding behind my Thing a ma gadgets I didn’t even see it, I collect the rent from there and it showed I collected the candy too. It seemed like yesterday most people collected purple so today might be red. Good luck and happy candy hunting everyone 🙂

Yesterday when this event started had no problem finding my purse candy bucket is now old time of the second Kenny package. I went in the MyTown I’ve tapped on buildings I checked all of my sidewalks I checked the Punkin make sure I didn’t accidentally tapped the candy bucket and nothingno new candy bucket

I found my candies fairly easily. One was on an open road, the other I got just randomly tapping. But if you go into road building mode everything becomes transparent. Might be easier to find the candy that way.

I just got my second piece of candy so I’ve had two pieces in one day. I live in the uk so I’m not sure when the times changes to the next candy. Also I really can’t get any of the extra rare wine bottles for stewies costume. I keep trying all day since it began and only have one.

Lucky me, I had still been too lazy to fix up my Quahog after I got rid of all my roads to make it easier to bomb minions. So that one little square I have is the candy magnet 😀

I thought the candy respawned after 12 hours and reappeared somewhere else in town until noon the next day. So now it just vanishes forever if you don’t collect it within 12 hours?

Each day a new one will appear, if you don’t get the first one within 12hrs of it spawning it’ll be gone forever. So you have to collect the candy EACH day to get it. But a new one will spawn the next day..

Hey, just had a glitch pop up in my game that I wanted to warn everyone about. I am an Android player and as of 2:30PM EST I can’t collect rent in my Quahog. Whenever I attempt to the coin bubble goes away but no coins or XP pop out and nothing is being added to my overall totals. I troubleshooted the problem myself and contacted TimyCo. but I wanted to give a heads up to the addicts in case it becomes a wide spread problem.

Cannot find the candy anywhere, removed all but one square of road for visibility but can’t find it

Moving sidewalks AFTER the drop won’t help. It’s prob now just sitting where a sidewalk was. Next round though in like 30 mins will be easier to see if just one patch of sidewalk.

I moved all roads anywhere near building coverings and still couldn’t find my candy. Noticed a sparkly bit coming up from behind the Quahog Maritime Center where I had not removed roads a good Royal Cat Statue sized space away from the sidewalk and found candy. Didn’t see the sparkly bit until after removing the roads and scouring my Quahog.

Did you trigger it same time event started last night? If so, 12 hours expired.
Keep sidewalks in areas you can see easily. Don’t have any behind buildings. You’ll see the next one much easier. (Just don’t store the pumpkin. Don’t think you can…but just in case)

It’s barely 1 square big. Its a bucket. And sparkles come out of it. It sits half on a square of sidewalk and the grass. So you gotta zoom in close or you’ll miss it.
Also watch your candy count in the pumpkin, it’s easy to tap and make the candy pop out. So you might tap it without knowing if its hidden behind a building or decorations

Remember the first bucket already dropped, you may have tapped on it already. So removing sidewalks woukd not impact tge first drop.
If you have the pumpkin, there’s candy bucket in town.
Next drop at noon pdt today will be easier to see if you have only one spot of sidewalk now.

So noon in pacific time is 3 pm eastern.. But I got my first candy at like 10 or 11 pm last night? Eastern time.. That doesn’t affect when they’re dropped? An I have no big jack or lantern or any other type of thing showing that’s Halloween…

If you got candy…the pumpkin is hiding round there somewhere. Check behind buildings. I moved mine to where I can see it easily.
The reset will be noon PDT all the time. Only thing that impacts you is when you trigger the candy drop. You only have 12 hrs from that first tap anytime AFTER noon PDT to find it within that window. 🙂

How big is the pumpkin? I found the first candy piece last night, but couldn’t see the pumpkin anywhere, even with tapping buildings in move mode (to make them see-through) to look behind them.

Remember that when you are in move mode all characters disappear. I imagine these buckets probably would too so I wouldn’t rely on that as a way of finding them.
