The time has come and the wait is over…Halloween is here!!!!!
More details as we go through them….but for now know that Peter kicks things off…and you’ll most likely get the popup saying reload for an awesome new event..
UPDATE BUNNY 730PM EST: For iOS and Android having crash issues, try again. iOS make sure you are on iOS 6 and completely updated. Android, make sure you download the newest update from the market and running on version 1.3.2.2 for the app. These should help with the iOS blue screen and the Android neighbor visits crashing.
UPDATE BUNNY 215PM EST: Jailhouse Meg items should stop dropping now. A patch has been pushed from TinyCo. Please try force close/restart to clear this.
As for the issue of the Spellbook/Portal sticking and not able to clear the task, they are working on it.
We’re working on a spell to fix the crashing bug with the Spelbook. So far, yelling out “insectum reparo!” has not worked.
ANNNNNNNND They just pushed a patch for this. Try to force close and restart to put it in effect if you don’t see it.
Update 11:55am EDT: Guys we’re working to get the info as fast as possible, but with everyone hitting the servers at once we’re getting the same connection dropped screens you are. So we as that you be patient and give us just a bit of time to try and pull as much info as we can… 🙂
Also, there seems to be a little “hiccup” when Drunk Programmer Kevin flipped the switch (I guess it wasn’t sobered up enough)…and Android users will see different color tress but nothing else. It’s coming, just be patient it should hit shortly.

Ok so first…I’m sure you’re all asking…What the heck is going on?
Peter, in typical Peter fashion, has decided to tick off the dead. In doing so Peter accidentally opens a dark portal in the Quahog cemetery and unleashes all manner of ghosts and goblins on the city…your job is to help round up these ghost, goblins and ghouls!
As always..the game will guide you through the process. So if you’re feeling confused just read the dialogue and see what the game is telling you to do. You can also ask us. We’re always happy to help 🙂

We’ll have full posts explaining the ins and outs of each aspect of this event, but for now…here’s a quick rundown.

Here are the event details from the game itself:
Halloween District:
Much like Full Moon & Comic Con the Halloween event has it’s own district…pretty much in the same spot. Here’s a look at the district when yo first start up your game..
Inside this district is where you’ll find the Portal and the witch’s cauldron (more on those later). The Haunted House is also located here.. for repair. (more below).
Here’s how the district looks after you’ve started and built up a few things..
This event has two types of currencies….
Spirit Vials
Fright Points
Spirit Vials are used to purchase event exclusive items
Fright points help you increase your fright level, and unlock more content.
You can earn each by doing various tasks
New Costume:
Ghostbuster Peter
You’ll need Ghostbuster Peter to clear the Terror Dogs…It takes 2 hrs to clear 1 Terror Dog. You’ll earned 10 Spirit Vials and 2 Fright Points every time you do. And a chance for Terror Dog Bones.
Required to unlock:

15 Ghost Dusters (uncommon): Earned by: Make Quagmire Order New Toys OR Make Peter Dig Through Attic OR Make Jerome Borrow a Halloween Costume OR Get From Macabre Curiosities.

Much like Comic-Con we’ll be given challenges to complete in an allotted amount of time to unlock cool prizes.
The first prize is….
The Ghostbuster Sign
Here’s how you complete the first challenge. After you craft Ghostbuster Peter the following challenge will popup:
You have 3 days to clear 12 Terror Dogs in Quahog. Again you need Ghostbuster Peter to do this. And each dog takes 2 hrs to clear….
SIDE NOTE: This challenge will trigger around completion of “Who You Gonna Call” Part 1.
Diane Simmons
Peter and Quagmire decide it’d be fun to dig up Diane Simmons! Here’s how you get her…
The quest to unlock her is called… Hell Hath No Fury Pt. 1
First you have to dig up/repair her Gravestone. This costs 250 Spirit Vials and takes 8hrs. Once you find her you only have FIVE DAYS to unlock her or she’ll disappear forever…
To unlock her you have to craft using your Cauldron. Here’s what you’ll need:
-Brew Chomps the Zombie in the Witch’s Cauldron
-Brew the Electricity Ball in the Witch’s Cauldron
(We suggest to wait to on digging her up and starting the countdown until Peter’s costume is built.)

Sorry, more questions. I see how to get rid of the Terror Dogs, but not how to trigger their arrival. Does this need the Haunted House repaired first (like ability to create GB Peter)? Also, I’m a bit confused about the Slimer thing (yes I’m on Android) – you said he appears once every 8 hours for 2 minutes only. Does this mean my game may be set for Slimer to arrive at (for example) 8:30am PT, and if I don’t happen to be in the game between 8:30am and 8:32am, I’ll never even know Slimer was there and I missed him?
(And another thing — How would anyone play this game without you Ladies and this site??)

I see that there’s another tombstone next to Diane’s – I really hope it’s Muriel Goldman, it would work well with Neil being released in the next few districts (although I doubt that the only new characters TinyCo would add with the Halloween update would be women – but one can hope!).

However, I think they were overcompensating for the difficulty level of the Kingdom of the Full Moon event and also the week late start android got. I think they may end up swinging right back the other direction making these actually valuable. But I’mma keep my credit card in my wallet this time around. I’m ok with not getting every Halloween item…

First off I can’t view the mobile site anymore…strange. also I was looking in the help section of the game and it said slimer is only on android? He appears every 8 hrs and is only around for two minutes. I find that strange, why android exclusive again? I already xlickedbhom 3 times but its definatly not been 24 hrs. I reported the glitch.

Regarding Diane, when does the 5 day countdown begin? At some future point when the quest kickes off? Or as soon as you unlock the grave? Even if you start to unlock the grave, it will be very difficult to craft those two items at this early stage. You need 30 of the bones, and you will need Peter to collect them from the dogs OR from the graveyard. And even with the graveyard, that will only give you 15 in five days. So hopefully Diane’s timer starts with a quest that starts after you unlock Peter.

So it would still make sense to wait until you unlock Peter or else buy two graveyards? How else to collect the 30 bones unless you have Peter?
It just seems like a trap to click on the checkmark over her grave and then find you currently have no way to collect the bones without clams. I have the graveyard and I still think I would regret digging her up now. Unless of course unlocking Peter is very easy and can be done during the 8 hour unearthing of Diane’s tomb.

As a freemium player, should we wait until Ghostbusters Peter is unlocked before repairing Diane’s grave? Seems you need terror dog bones for her, and I’m guessing killing them will drop them in addition to the haunted house and pet cemetery (which freemium players would not have).

Meant because you need 30 bones for the 2 items for Diane, and I thought Terror dogs don’t appear until you have ghostbuster Peter unlocked. It says you can get bones from the haunted house and cemetery only, but assuming all by killing the terror dogs?

I’m not sure if this is just a glitch or maybe it was just something they fixed but it now costs 37 clams for me to release 2 gray ghosts with 9 or so hours left for release instead of the original 4 clams.
Just a heads up for everybody.
By the way awesome job of helping us all out!!!!

I had a weird glitch with the tapping Slimer quest. He showed up once and I tapped him, then whenever I reopened the app it would “tap” him again, so I’m already done the task. I hope he still comes around even now and then.

You ladies are awesome! Love you both. I check this site usually before and after I check into the actual game….which, admittedly, can be 4-5 times an hour….so that should tell you how valued your efforts really are.
Hope that through all the craziness of this new event both of you get to actually enjoy playing the game.

I’m getting objects for sexy stewie costum. Just unlocked him a few days ago. Still working on prison meg, so I’m assuming i should be getting those.

Feel free to moderate this into the delete column, but I am really trying to follow the guidelines.
I am finding it hard when obviously I don’t post enough or haven’t been here long enough to have any camaraderie with you guys as moderators.
I know what you do is a difficult and sometimes less than rewarding job when all you hear is complaints, etc.
What I am really struggling with is the fact that we are supposed to be respectful when I dont feel like I am getting that in return.
Unfortunately my comments seem to always be moderated for an extreme amount of time especially when compared to other posters and rarely do I ever warrant the slightest of responses.
Maybe I was rude and ruffled feathers at some point. Maybe posting through Facebook is causing my posts to go unseen for an extended amount of time. Or maybe I am just not a good fit for here and you can point me in the direction of another place similar to this.

Not sure what you are getting at here. This is only the 5th comment I have seen from you. Unless you posted under an alternate name. ALL 4 of prior comments were moderated in a timely manner. I am not sure why you feel or think that we are playing “favorites” here. You could not be more wrong. Just ask the resident troll Mark S. He “ruffles” feathers all the time, but still is treated by us the same as anyone else.
I have no clue as to this “extreme amount of time” you are feeling. Maybe it is due to you are used to not having to wait in moderation vs instant comments on Facebook?
Step back, re evaluate, and look at this site for what it is. TWO…I repeat… TWO people moderating this site as well as another with MASSIVE traffic flow. On top of that we are humans and DO have a real life. We need to sleep, eat, and work our jobs that pay for our sites to stay FREE to you. So if a comment has to sit, then it has to sit until we return. It does not in any way mean it is being ignored.
Since this site launched in April (and our other over a year ago) not ONE comment has sat for more than a period of 24hrs. Not a single one. Most comments are responded to within ONE hour. UNLESS..busy days like today where getting the info out first is MORE important as all the answers are in there vs moderation. When the info is done and post up…then we start working through the comments.
So what if someone goes before you? Maybe they didnt have a question and didnt need more time to research said question.
Instead of taking such a drastic view of things, step back…take a look…see a much much bigger picture. Then you may see the Addicts and appreciate the site for the moderation. Cases in point, look at the FB site for this app vs ours. I know I wouldnt want to go where nothing is moderated.
If you want your comments to go instant, no response, vulgarites, no help, and just chaos…feel free to head there. 😉
If you want help, in depth info, game details, free giveaways, and lots of fun…then realize you need to be patient and allow the people who provide all this to you to have the proper time to do it. (Just picture yourself at a desk with 100,000 people in line and tell me how fast YOU think you can get through all them.)

Hi, quick question on the Character Tasks listed for dropping Spirit Vials and Fright Points. Shortly after the event launched, I saw some new task options for a few characters (Jerome, Lois) with no event-affiliated drop (this was the same time I saw the Jailhouse Meg items back in play). An hour later, I have 2-3 characters showing the new task with the event currency drop listed, but I just went through every single character and skin before throwing all unneeded people for this stage on inside tasks – and I definitely did not have event-related drops or even any new tasks for some of the ones you list, like Kool-Aid, Consuela, and Fillion. Do I need to do or achieve something to trigger these extra characters to get event tasks? Or do I just need to wait and should see it next time they’re free? (I have been refreshing here and the FAQ post but haven’t seen this asked or answered yet) Thanks!!

Scroll through all characters. The tasks do not trigger to the top. They are just in their normal spots. Kool Aid showed his drops really fast for me.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I’m on Android. Started the Open Spell Book quest, my game froze. I force closed it, restarted it and now the Portal is there, and the Portal part of the quest is completed. When I click on Open Spell Book it just goes to the portal and does not let me complete the Open Spell Book quest. If anyone else has run into this and found a solution please let me know.

I’ve started playing the Halloween event and I’ve decided to purchase some premium items for this event. When I am in the edit/placement mode dragging the items to where I’m going to place them, I have noticed the following glitches and errors:
1.) Every time I enter edit/placement mode, the spirit vial machine is enlarged almost 5x times its original size. When exiting edit/placement mode and I’m in play mode (where you can see the characters move, animations etc) the object returns back to its original size. This exact glitch also happens with the jetski pigeon object.
2.) Rotating the joke shop when in edit/placement mode results in making the building appear as half its original size.
3.) Rotating the fortune shop when in edit/placement mode results in making the building change its appearance to the joke shop.
I’ve sent this report to tinyco but could you alert them too about these glitches as they’re quite annoying? Thanks.

This is not a slam on the awesome work done here, but it is absolutely baffling that the item drops for Prison Meg were not caught in QA/beta testing. Once again let the players find the glitches and shame on them for rushing in to play an event that has been hyped for weeks as they put their characters on worthless tasks because maybe, just maybe it IS part of the event.
