The time has come and the wait is over…Halloween is here!!!!!
More details as we go through them….but for now know that Peter kicks things off…and you’ll most likely get the popup saying reload for an awesome new event..
UPDATE BUNNY 730PM EST: For iOS and Android having crash issues, try again. iOS make sure you are on iOS 6 and completely updated. Android, make sure you download the newest update from the market and running on version 1.3.2.2 for the app. These should help with the iOS blue screen and the Android neighbor visits crashing.
UPDATE BUNNY 215PM EST: Jailhouse Meg items should stop dropping now. A patch has been pushed from TinyCo. Please try force close/restart to clear this.
As for the issue of the Spellbook/Portal sticking and not able to clear the task, they are working on it.
We’re working on a spell to fix the crashing bug with the Spelbook. So far, yelling out “insectum reparo!” has not worked.
ANNNNNNNND They just pushed a patch for this. Try to force close and restart to put it in effect if you don’t see it.
Update 11:55am EDT: Guys we’re working to get the info as fast as possible, but with everyone hitting the servers at once we’re getting the same connection dropped screens you are. So we as that you be patient and give us just a bit of time to try and pull as much info as we can… 🙂
Also, there seems to be a little “hiccup” when Drunk Programmer Kevin flipped the switch (I guess it wasn’t sobered up enough)…and Android users will see different color tress but nothing else. It’s coming, just be patient it should hit shortly.
So let’s break it all down shall we? Remember…we’ll be updating THIS post as we go through everything, so keep checking back until you see the Updated and Complete in the title..

Ok so first…I’m sure you’re all asking…What the heck is going on?
Peter, in typical Peter fashion, has decided to tick off the dead. In doing so Peter accidentally opens a dark portal in the Quahog cemetery and unleashes all manner of ghosts and goblins on the city…your job is to help round up these ghost, goblins and ghouls!
As always..the game will guide you through the process. So if you’re feeling confused just read the dialogue and see what the game is telling you to do. You can also ask us. We’re always happy to help 🙂

We’ll have full posts explaining the ins and outs of each aspect of this event, but for now…here’s a quick rundown.

Here are the event details from the game itself:
Halloween District:
Much like Full Moon & Comic Con the Halloween event has it’s own district…pretty much in the same spot. Here’s a look at the district when yo first start up your game..
Inside this district is where you’ll find the Portal and the witch’s cauldron (more on those later). The Haunted House is also located here.. for repair. (more below).
Here’s how the district looks after you’ve started and built up a few things..
This event has two types of currencies….
Spirit Vials
Fright Points
Spirit Vials are used to purchase event exclusive items
Fright points help you increase your fright level, and unlock more content.
You can earn each by doing various tasks
New Costume:
Ghostbuster Peter
You’ll need Ghostbuster Peter to clear the Terror Dogs…It takes 2 hrs to clear 1 Terror Dog. You’ll earned 10 Spirit Vials and 2 Fright Points every time you do. And a chance for Terror Dog Bones.
Required to unlock:

15 Ghost Dusters (uncommon): Earned by: Make Quagmire Order New Toys OR Make Peter Dig Through Attic OR Make Jerome Borrow a Halloween Costume OR Get From Macabre Curiosities.

Much like Comic-Con we’ll be given challenges to complete in an allotted amount of time to unlock cool prizes.
The first prize is….
The Ghostbuster Sign
Here’s how you complete the first challenge. After you craft Ghostbuster Peter the following challenge will popup:
You have 3 days to clear 12 Terror Dogs in Quahog. Again you need Ghostbuster Peter to do this. And each dog takes 2 hrs to clear….
SIDE NOTE: This challenge will trigger around completion of “Who You Gonna Call” Part 1.
Diane Simmons
Peter and Quagmire decide it’d be fun to dig up Diane Simmons! Here’s how you get her…
The quest to unlock her is called… Hell Hath No Fury Pt. 1
First you have to dig up/repair her Gravestone. This costs 250 Spirit Vials and takes 8hrs. Once you find her you only have FIVE DAYS to unlock her or she’ll disappear forever…
To unlock her you have to craft using your Cauldron. Here’s what you’ll need:
-Brew Chomps the Zombie in the Witch’s Cauldron
-Brew the Electricity Ball in the Witch’s Cauldron
(We suggest to wait to on digging her up and starting the countdown until Peter’s costume is built.)

Noticed in my inventory that buildings I got during comic con were highlighted and the font changed to similar to the Halloween buildings. Glitch?
Also my kool- aid and George takai don’t have tasks for Halloween yet. Have started the ghostbuster Peter collecting

Make sure your characters are leveled up to point of 24 hr tasks unlocked. Those are vial earning ones.

1st and foremost thank you to Bunny and Alissa for making this such an incredibly friendly, and informative site for us all. My question pertains to some of the building that I currently have in my inventory. When I go to look through some of them I notice that some of them have the new Halloween themed font on them and say different things than before, and they also have the purple border colors on them as well. Are these stores capable of earning vials and fright points or only the coins and xp? I’d say there is somewhere between 10-15 buildings that have this color and font scheme on them. I have placed a few of them in my town, but haven’t noticed them doing anything different or serving another purpose. I was thinking maybe they might add to the scare factor of my town and might give me additional fright points, but so far I have not found any proof of this. Sorry if anyone has already posted something on this I did look thru comments and did not see anything posted on it. Thanks for any information anyone might have!

There are definitely still some timer issues going on. For example, my ghost respawn had 1hr listed. I waited, but no ghosts spawned. Frustrating. Instead, the spawned about 36 minutes late and into the next cycle, which also failed to respawn on time. As it is, ghosts seem to just be spawning whenever.
I’ll report the issue.
Tbh I also wish that they’d spawn more often. A min of 1hr seems terribly annoying, especially since each pass doesn’t produce a whole lot of currency. I’m not asking to have them spawn as quickly as the mummies from a few months back, but the spawn rate for the nerds in the comic con event hit that sweet spot. Slow ghost respawn is annoying.

Should the ‘make sure you’re on iOS 6’ comment actually read ‘make sure you’re on iOS 8?’

It would be very strange if the game was only compatible with an old version of the OS. Many people won’t even be able to downgrade their devices to iOS 6.
Also, if iOS 8 was what was meant, that’s also not good advice, as installing iOS 8 on an older device such as an iPad 2 or older iPod Touch is definitely not recommended, as it can cause performance issues.
Maybe you should test the accuracy of stuff before you post it? Either of those recommendation (running iOS 6 or iOS 8) could cause a lot of grief for people.
I’d say most people who are currently running iOS 7 should probably stay on iOS 7 for now.

It is correct. They mean at LEAST iOS 6. Players below are crashing most. 🙂

No it’s 6. They make sure it is playable for people with the minimum allowable to not crash and still handle what makes it fun. So the iOS 6 is the lowest you can have and still play the game properly. Above is fine. But for those who for whatever reason (jail broken — ahem) they haven’t updated higher than 6 or whichever they have, it won’t play well on less than iOS 6. Make sense now?

How bizarre, 6 minutes left on the grey ghost portal for the next spawn of ghosts. Come back to the Game and 58 minutes on the timer and and now it’s spawning terror dogs or whatever they are 🙂

After my grey ghost timer ran out and I got my ghosts, the timer switched to 60 minutes and said that terror dogs will be released. 60 minutes later, the timer reset with no dogs. On my husband’s game, the timer reset and he got ghosts, no mention of dogs. Any idea what’s going on? Thanks for your help!

Everyone’s releases and timers will depend on YOUR game and your game only. Where you are quest wise. What you’ve unlocked. Etc. So no comparison. There is a timer for both dog n ghost. Just see who pops out.

Interesting factoid: My hometown, Bellefontaine, Ohio, has the claim to fame of being the place where the Miller-Meteor hearse that later became the Ghostbusters car was originally built. The old A.J. Miller hearse and ambulance factory was actually at the opposite end of the same street I grew up on. They just tore it down a few years ago.

Thank god! The UPDATED update is running much better. My phone kept crashing all day on anything I did with it even aside from the game. I have a galaxy s3. It’s all much much better now tho. I was really contemplating deleting and crying in a hole for the next 6 months..

I haven’t tried it that way, my guess is no since you can have multiples but I don’t know. I can try and test it out tomorrow…but it’ll be a bit before I can.

It’s day 1 and I’ve learned to be patient with this game but it seems like it will take s very long time to get ghostbuster Peter and that is really what you need in order to keep the quest line moving forward with collecting items and unlocking portals

I noticed this earlier with a different character but I was in drag & drop mode. Some of the tasks that should have been available were locked because I was not close enough to the building those tasks were at. Notice all the tasks in the pic are Griffin house tasks. My bet is instead of just tapping Stewie, it was an inadvertent drag & happened somewhere away from the griffin house.

So far, so good with this event. Even if my iOS doesn’t have slimer. Thanks for all the hard work you do, informing us of the details. I like the aspect of saving up for different/multiple prizes and ignoring others. Some cool steampunk looking premium items, too. Glad they gave GT and NF goo earning tasks… uh, I mean sprit vials.

I started building the Ghostbuster headquarters and left the game, but when I came back it was gone and so were the vials I had spent on it. Has anyone else had this problem?

This is frustrating. I am a few hours behind because I sent people on tasks for more of Meg’s stuff and I refuse to buy clams to rush things. The clams I have I am saving for Consuela but I don’t know if I should get a couple of the buildings and wait even longer. The only thing that is stopping me from losing it is stopping on here to follow up with what you two ladies are posting. If it were legal and you were both single I would propose right now. Thank you for keeping some of us some what stable and for all the help you provide.

TinyCo is ALWAYS adding more ways to earn more currency. So what I would say is patience with it. Each week they’ll introduce something new to help achieve the goals 🙂

I think there is a bug with the slimer quest. I never once got him, but every time I reopened the app I got credit for one and somehow completed the quest

That’s what happened with mine. Even though I only saw and tapped Slimer once, I somehow got credit for a second soon after, then a couple hours after that, I logged in and was promptly awarded the quest completion prize.

I play on cross devices and I got slimer on my andriod phone and still had two more to get. I log on to my iPad and the task is on the task bar. Later I log back in on my iPad and it says I completed the task. Has this happened to others.

Just happened to me..couldn’t find him and got credit for one..twenty minutes later I logged in a second later it congratulated me and gave me 25 of the vials

This, I just tapped a slimer and check the task bar to notice that I had 2/3, then I logged after a few minutes and the quest was already done.

Yes. I only play on an android tho. But I did only find 2 slimers, and when I hit the second one it said I had finished the quest. I didn’t argue the point. Hah

Quick question: are the character’s who can drop spirit vials going to have the ability to drop the vials with every job? Lois can only drop vials when she’s on her 1 hour task, but I’m using her 6 hour task to get the stuff for Ghostbuster Peter, but she’s not going to drop any vials with this job. In the other events the characters that could drop the special currency could drop them with most of their jobs (I think). Is TinyCo going to change this, or is this how it’s going to be for all of the event? Thanks in advance!

I’m sure that it will end up being exactly like the kingdom of the full moon and Comicon in that as the event progresses, more characters will be involved with earning event currency and more of tasks will earn it as well. Remember, it’s the first day lol! no need to rush everything 🙂

I have a quick question, I’m not sure if it is in the correct place so I’m sorry in advance. I am working on unlocking Stewie, 18 and 4 is all I have left to collect. Should I spend 300 clams to unlock him now or should I keep grinding away while trying to get items for Halloween?

Man I ordered a pizza from dominoes using the Google Wallet, and accidentally clicked on the 50 dollar clams and it charged me, oh well went ahead and got the Casper looking Elixer thingy. Lesson learn remember to log out after ordering pizza.

Hi guys and thank you so much for your hard work again (and of course the amazing guys at TinyCo). For info I haven’t even started on GB Peter but the dogs appeared as soon as I repaired the haunted house.
For me the new update “is no” (maybe we need more lemon pledge). I’m having regular crashes though as the game force closes every few minutes while doing different things, nothing specific, except visiting friends that will systematically crash the moment I press the button. I’ve just reported this to TinyCo but thought I would let you and others know too if it’s any help.
Mind you, it’s not all bad as it somehow forced the Slimer to respawn and I’ve had 4 within less than an hour (the 3 required ones plus I missed one).
Anyway I can live with this, really happy with the new stuff and looking forward to the next few weeks!

What’s the difference between the grey ghosts that appear every 12 hours and the whitish ones that just appear randomly, do they give more spirit? Also, when does Slimer start appearing? I’ll double check up top in case you already posted re:Slimer.

I have a question regarding the characters who drop spirits and fright points. When I goto choose a character to set them on a task, there isnt any indication of what the reward is. Is this normal or a current glitch in my game?

? Not sure what you are getting at.
If a character drops a material, it will be listed next to their task info. If there is nothing there saying Vials or Fright Points and only $$ and XP…then that is all they drop. Is that what you are asking?

Yes, but none of the characters have the material next to their task info. Not Takei, the Kool-Aid man, nobody. I havent finised repairing the Haunted House yet though.

Did you scroll through ALL their tasks? Most are 24 hr and at the bottom. The icons take place of the XP & $$$ I haven’t completed the house either and I see them.

I have Takei, Rupert and the Kool aid man and I don’t see any of their task as being part of this event. Is that a glitch or are they triggered at a certain point.

Mine appeared pretty quick. Look close as the payout is where $ & xp normally show. Also most are 24 hrs. So make sure you have correct buildings out for those tasks.
