UPDATE BUNNY 2:10 PM EST: TinyCo JUST pushed a fix for the Poltergeists issue. For those players on Fright Level 7 and above, it seems to have impacted the most. So give it a moment to load and you should be good to go. 🙂
They are also looking into the issue of Banshees. Waiting for clarification on spawn rates, etc. Will update once we have more details.
MORE INFO… Banshees should be spawning 2 every 3 hours for a max of 4 in your town at once. So if you are not seeing them at this rate (you have to have Ghostbuster Quagmire to start to clear them and have them regenerate), please contact TinyCo.
UPDATE BUNNY: Sorry for the delay, was hurrying to get back to a signal so I could pass this on. We have already reported the issues with Predator not leveling up, Grey ghosts not droppin vials, and Poltergeists not counting that are impacting players. Will update when we get anymore info on it. Our hopes is they can locate and fix issues soon. They are working on it.

Looks like phase 2 has hit and there’s a whole bunch of new goodies for us yup explore! The portal can now be upgraded and there’s now latching poltergeist yup contend with!

How do I see Phase 2 of the Halloween event?
You will need to upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal in order to access Phase 2 of Ghostbusters: Quahog’s Halloween. Upgrading will require at least Fright Level 2.
What triggers the Ghostbusters Challenge 2?
When you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal, this will trigger “Ghostbuster Challenge 2: We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Latchers.” This will require you to defeat 8 Poltergeist Latchers in 3 days to win the Ghostbuster Lockers.
What are the Poltergeists attached to my buildings?
When you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal, this will introduce a new ghostly creature into your town. Poltergeists will haunt Quahog’s buildings, making them too frightening to enter. Any character currently in the building will be trapped until the Poltergeist is cleared or moves to another building.
How do I clear the Poltergeists?
Tap on the building with the attached Poltergeist to clear it. You will need to use Ghost Traps to capture the Poltergeists. Ghost Traps take 6 hours to recharge, and you can get traps from Diane Simmons or the shop to instantly recharge.
Clearing a Poltergeist will reward Spirit Vials, XP and a chance for Poltergeist Talons and Colander Helmets.
What is the Poltergeists’ spawn rate?
A Poltergeist will spawn every 2.5 hours for a maximum of 3 in your town at a time. After 6 hours, the Poltergeist will move to a different building.
How do I unlock Ghostbuster Quagmire?
Ghostbuster Quagmire is available after you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal.
To unlock this costume, you will need the following items:
1,000 Spirit Vials
10 Ghost Condoms (rare) from Lois, Bonnie, Chris and the Goth Nightclub
10 Colander Helmets (rare) from Poltergeists, Ghostbusters HQ and Kamikaze Plane
15 PKE Meters (uncommon) from Mort, Quagmire, Bruce and Airplane Graveyard
If you unlock him, Ghostbuster Quagmire is yours to keep in the game permanently. You will have until the end of the entire Halloween event to unlock him, otherwise he will disappear from your game.
How do I get Banshee Tears?
In order to clear the Banshees and earn Banshee Tears, you will need to have the Ghostbuster Quagmire costume completed. Once complete, tap on the Banshees to clear them or start Quagmire’s action for “Zap Banshee” for your chance to collect Banshee Tears. You can also earn Banshee Tears from the Quahog Cannery and the Banshee Fountain.
How do I get the Predator?
The Predator will be available in the shop for 250 clams. He will zap Banshees and drop batteries to recharge the Ghost Traps.

Week 2 Challenge:
Week 2 Challenge Involves Trapping Poltergeists:
The challenge will start early in the questline, so be ready. You have 3 days to trap 8 Poltergeist and win the lockers. Once you’ve completed the challenge the lockers can be found in your inventory.
New Ghosts to Defeat:
Banshee- Ghostbuster Quagmire (or Predator) will clear them. They’ll drop Banshee tears. They come from the Portal.
Poltergeist- They’ll latch onto buildings and take them over (similar to Latcher Stewie). You’ll need Traps to defeat them. They drop Poltergeist Talons.
New Materials for Crafting:
Banshee Tears- Get from Clearing Banshees or from Various Buildings.
Talons- Get from Clearing Poltergeist or from Various Buildings.
Both items are needed to craft various items in the Cauldron…

Traps for Poltergeist:
As mentioned above…Poltergeists are now latchers for buildings in Quahog. You’ll need traps to clear them. When they’ve taken over a building they’ll look like this:
To clear it tap on it and and if you have a trap available (they recharge every 6hrs). You can also earn traps from Diane and Predator. They’re also available for purchase with clams.

The Pumpkin Patch, Abandoned Mansion, Scarmara & Spirit Vial Laboratory are all unique items and once they drop from the box they won’t drop again…thus increasing your odds of getting Clams, Traps, Vials or another item you’ll need to craft.
And with that…the rundown is complete! Of course, as always, we’ll be going more into details with the specifics, but this should give you a great overview of everything 🙂

So there is an issue most won’t be familiar with or ever see, it will probably be patched by the time freemium players make it into the fold.
Week two is here and there are two quests, main and reward. One requires destroying 2 poltergeist latchers, the other 8. The poltergeists are exactly the same as latcher Stewie from the comic con event.
Now even you press go thru the quest menu it will tell you there are no poltergeists… and even you dispatch one with the trap it doesn’t go into your count.
Curious… always let the addicts know first. Perhaps someone else is experiencing this issue.

Whenever I get a poltergeist it doesn’t count towards the quest. I’ve got 4 so far but on the quests, it says 1/2 and 1/8.

Scamara is the lil girl from the ring. She is a deco…but animated in the way she “phases” in n out and jumps to another part of her “area”. It is a cool animation to watch

answered my own question 🙂 takes 8 hours to get a battery for the trap and 3 hours to zap a banshee with him for those who wish to know. tis all that’s available for me right now but those are the important ones for the moment.

He is playable (and so cool)….there’s already bugs with him tho. He kills the banshees and has an 8 hour task for the latching monster trap. He also comes with a barrel of skulls that brings in xp

Got the predator and brought predator ship. But now everytime load game it comes up with ‘Config empty for id halloween_predatorsShipGeneric in BuildingAction error’ So, please hangfire on buying ship until we know this problem is fixed.
Been over a day and still having same problem, can’t load game, can’t catch the 8 polts for quest line.

Week 2 looks like a busy week, I like the look of the new deco and I couldn’t resist having predator roaming the streets. On a side note did anyone else notice that the appearance of chomps has changed? In the cauldron store he still looks as it first did, but placed as deco 1 of the zombies changed looks.

Wow got to much going on lol. Still need two satellites, haven’t had any drop in over a week grrr. Also just started mayor west and now GB quagmire. Got Diane dug but not clicking the check box till I have crafted the zombies, already have the electric ball. Kinda over whelmed but I am loving this event, I Def think this is the funnest event yet. I would love for marshmallow man to pop up some where. Also thank yall for this sight it has been a saving grace for us addicts!!!

If you notice, one of the portal upgrades later on is named the StayPuft portal and it appears that there is a jar that looks like it is white marshmallow goo with a couple marshmallows in it. To me, all signs point to StayPuft making an appearance later on.

Don’t know if anyone has reported issue with predator yet, but his tasks do not have experience points associated with them so he does not appear to be leveling up. This is necessary to unlock his other tasks.

I got incredibly lucky or experienced an awesome bug/glitch. I decided to buy a Macabre Mystery Box for 100 clams. First prize I get…200 clams. I say cool, and do it again…200 clams. And Again. Happened 5 times. Got 1000 clams out of it before it finally started spitting out the other prizes. Scarmara is pretty cool. She’s animated.

Was a little nervous when I opened at 5 CDT and the portal said “come back later” after the timer ran out. Finally activated around 7. I officially went Premium for the first time and bought Predator with the free 3000 vial10 tear deal. Oh and Slutty Cat Meg and Mr. Weed are available! Liking this event a lot so far!

So, first off, week two is AWESOME, so far. But, I have noticed what I assume is a glitch – since I upgraded my portal, spawned Gray Ghosts are not giving me spirit vials when I tap them – I’ve tapped 15 of them so far, and gotten 2 clams, and nothing else. Is this intentional – more clams, but no spirit vials? Or is this an issue?

Mr weed is unlock able now with 40 terror dog bones 40 banshee tears and 17,500 spirit vials he is the very last thing to be brewed so scroll all the way to the right.

Do you know if you have to have the quests from the first week completed in order to trigger the poltergeists? I have upgraded the portal, but no poltergeists or challenge quest yet. I assume this is the case, but was wondering if this could be confirmed.

FYI… I just confirmed it in my game. I completed I Ain’t ‘Fraid of No Ghost Part 8, it prompted me to upgrade the portal (which I already had completed) as Part 9 and then the remainder of the timed quests started.

Most of my ghosts do not produce anything now (no vials). Is that on purpose?
Also, I am sooooo tempted to get the Predator, the airplane graveyard, the bomber plane, and the Emo-Globin Nightclub. Should I wait? Especially with the Predator, which costs clams. . .

My husband would strangle me if he paid attention to this game lol. ESPECIALLY with Halloween stuff..I’m a sucker for skulls and creepy things. So I’m putting money in, I got predator a minute ago and ALMOST got the macabre mystery box but thought I better check here first….my question- does it work just like old mystery boxes? It opens and gives u something OR (please tell me this is the case) will it give u that Brian statue with it? That episode where he has that bad trip was my FAV of all time!!

Went ahead and grabbed the Predator because he’s so cheap and helpful(also seems he gets a ship so yay!) and started builds for other stuff.
Mr. Weed is 17500 SP and 40 Tears and 40 Bones. He’s at the end of the list. I’m going to try to have him in a week.

Not to be off topic, but my game is suddenly crashing every six or seven minutes since Halloween entered phase two. Is this just me, or are other people experiencing this? I’m playing on an iPad 3, and before this my game crashed about once a month on me. Also, I’m guaranteed a crash now if I try to visit a friend’s town. Should I try Bunny’s walk through for reloading the app, or would that not change anything?

It still crashes randomly a lot. I’d hate to think that a simple game like this requires more available resources than an iPad 3 can handle. If I had gone to the greet last night, I would have loved to ask them if there is any way they can prune or compress the old data files that are taking up nearly 700megs of space since they started patching and expanding. That’s my prime suspect, unless a complete reinstall would overwrite some bit of corrupted code.

This is really neat. and if I get all that I need I get Meg. The one item, person that I wanted. I do have one question…some of my white ghost are no longer giving spirit vials. When tapping them now some give and some don’t. Are they slowing down on giving them??

Ok, this may be an event but I am bit fed up with this system. First off, there is way too much to do and only a few characters are helping with this. I mean c’mon, Peter has to do a ton of zapping just for Diane and I only have 5 days for it, a lot of Spirit Vials are needed and everyone who can slightly help out is either premium or on non vial earning tasks for other things, the item collecting system, is Tinyco serious about this, you need 20 banshee tears plus a Ton of other stuff for just slutty cat meg, and now Mr. Weed needs 40 banshee tears and more for him. Poltergeists are now the new and more annoying latchers with more spawn time and recharge time. I praise this game for keeping things fresh, but I think they are giving us more than we can handle. Especially without clams.

The update hit and already has a glitch. the latcher ghost are the next 3 day timed event. I picked up 25 traps for 225 clams. Then started to clear the buildings I’ve seen them on. I cleared 3 and no one has been add to my total number but the traps where used and the other stuff dropped. Thanks you rock!!! Enjoy the bay I’m in Santa Rosa just north of you wish I could make it down there 🙂
