UPDATE BUNNY 2:10 PM EST: TinyCo JUST pushed a fix for the Poltergeists issue. For those players on Fright Level 7 and above, it seems to have impacted the most. So give it a moment to load and you should be good to go. 🙂
They are also looking into the issue of Banshees. Waiting for clarification on spawn rates, etc. Will update once we have more details.
MORE INFO… Banshees should be spawning 2 every 3 hours for a max of 4 in your town at once. So if you are not seeing them at this rate (you have to have Ghostbuster Quagmire to start to clear them and have them regenerate), please contact TinyCo.
UPDATE BUNNY: Sorry for the delay, was hurrying to get back to a signal so I could pass this on. We have already reported the issues with Predator not leveling up, Grey ghosts not droppin vials, and Poltergeists not counting that are impacting players. Will update when we get anymore info on it. Our hopes is they can locate and fix issues soon. They are working on it.

How do I see Phase 2 of the Halloween event?
You will need to upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal in order to access Phase 2 of Ghostbusters: Quahog’s Halloween. Upgrading will require at least Fright Level 2.
What triggers the Ghostbusters Challenge 2?
When you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal, this will trigger “Ghostbuster Challenge 2: We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Latchers.” This will require you to defeat 8 Poltergeist Latchers in 3 days to win the Ghostbuster Lockers.
What are the Poltergeists attached to my buildings?
When you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal, this will introduce a new ghostly creature into your town. Poltergeists will haunt Quahog’s buildings, making them too frightening to enter. Any character currently in the building will be trapped until the Poltergeist is cleared or moves to another building.
How do I clear the Poltergeists?
Tap on the building with the attached Poltergeist to clear it. You will need to use Ghost Traps to capture the Poltergeists. Ghost Traps take 6 hours to recharge, and you can get traps from Diane Simmons or the shop to instantly recharge.
Clearing a Poltergeist will reward Spirit Vials, XP and a chance for Poltergeist Talons and Colander Helmets.
What is the Poltergeists’ spawn rate?
A Poltergeist will spawn every 2.5 hours for a maximum of 3 in your town at a time. After 6 hours, the Poltergeist will move to a different building.
How do I unlock Ghostbuster Quagmire?
Ghostbuster Quagmire is available after you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal.
To unlock this costume, you will need the following items:
1,000 Spirit Vials
10 Ghost Condoms (rare) from Lois, Bonnie, Chris and the Goth Nightclub
10 Colander Helmets (rare) from Poltergeists, Ghostbusters HQ and Kamikaze Plane
15 PKE Meters (uncommon) from Mort, Quagmire, Bruce and Airplane Graveyard
If you unlock him, Ghostbuster Quagmire is yours to keep in the game permanently. You will have until the end of the entire Halloween event to unlock him, otherwise he will disappear from your game.
How do I get Banshee Tears?
In order to clear the Banshees and earn Banshee Tears, you will need to have the Ghostbuster Quagmire costume completed. Once complete, tap on the Banshees to clear them or start Quagmire’s action for “Zap Banshee” for your chance to collect Banshee Tears. You can also earn Banshee Tears from the Quahog Cannery and the Banshee Fountain.
How do I get the Predator?
The Predator will be available in the shop for 250 clams. He will zap Banshees and drop batteries to recharge the Ghost Traps.

Week 2 Challenge:
Week 2 Challenge Involves Trapping Poltergeists:
The challenge will start early in the questline, so be ready. You have 3 days to trap 8 Poltergeist and win the lockers. Once you’ve completed the challenge the lockers can be found in your inventory.
New Ghosts to Defeat:
Banshee- Ghostbuster Quagmire (or Predator) will clear them. They’ll drop Banshee tears. They come from the Portal.
Poltergeist- They’ll latch onto buildings and take them over (similar to Latcher Stewie). You’ll need Traps to defeat them. They drop Poltergeist Talons.
New Materials for Crafting:
Banshee Tears- Get from Clearing Banshees or from Various Buildings.
Talons- Get from Clearing Poltergeist or from Various Buildings.
Both items are needed to craft various items in the Cauldron…

As mentioned above…Poltergeists are now latchers for buildings in Quahog. You’ll need traps to clear them. When they’ve taken over a building they’ll look like this:
To clear it tap on it and and if you have a trap available (they recharge every 6hrs). You can also earn traps from Diane and Predator. They’re also available for purchase with clams.

The Pumpkin Patch, Abandoned Mansion, Scarmara & Spirit Vial Laboratory are all unique items and once they drop from the box they won’t drop again…thus increasing your odds of getting Clams, Traps, Vials or another item you’ll need to craft.
And with that…the rundown is complete! Of course, as always, we’ll be going more into details with the specifics, but this should give you a great overview of everything 🙂

Also unlocked slutty cat Meg ..went to AL Harrington store to get her ..tapped on her ..game crashed and restarts my galaxy note 3..now she’s back behind the brewing screen with a lock and a checkmark….I mean …really …what…the..hell…And this game crashing and restarting my phone has been an on going situation

Okay not sure I its already been noticed but in the Support they stated that Gray Ghosts do not always drop Vials, which is working as inteneed. So its not a bug just another way to force people to buy premium stuff. With so little characters with Vial tasks I have to say thats a very cheap attempt TinyCo. Event is starting to go down the gutters. :p

I’m really liking the event so far……and actually usually I am lucky with bugs but man this update got me good.
– Poltergeist not counting
– Banshees not appearing ( only a few appeared when the portal upgraded but any more so far)
– I asume both Predator and Slutty Cat Meg to have at least one quest….none of them popped up for me.
Contacted Tinyco allready so waiting for an answer….anyone else having so much problems? 😦

Predator is my new favorite playable character. While I may not be buying clams anymore for waste of space limited time buildings due to lack of land. Premium characters are fine, especially when they are this cool.

Tinyco keeps zapping my wallet for clams but no money is coming out ! What’s the point of paying coins for the pred ship when you have to use real money to get the pred!!!! Every new phase is gimme gimme gimme more clams!

This is exactly why I love tinyco, they listen to players.
I mean the game isn’t even a year old and they already are going to do an epic american dad crossover event. American dad is my favourite show, so I can’t wait for the event. Looking forward to seeing how many and which roger costumes will make it to the game.

american dad will be the next event? now im thinking about is…*inserts clip of stan celebrating his victory over felix the car salesman from the episode “failure is not a factory installed option”*. tho i wonder when well see the cleveland show cast of characters? i mean his familys living there now and id love to see tim the bear, kendra and ernie in the game. they were my favorite characters. imagine how much land space we’ll need to accomadate these cast of characters.

This week’s update is amazing. At first I was a little disappointed at how little content there was, but now there’s tons. I shelled out all I had left of my clam stockpile for predator. He is awesome. I can’t wait to see what else they put out there.

Predator does what Quagmire does…so you’d have two doing the same task. However…Predator also drops batteries for ghost traps. Personally….I’d go with predator 🙂

Also when I click on my tasks, 0-2 & 0-8 poltergeist latchers it tells me there are no poltergeist available but I can see them on my buildings.

thrilled about American Dad?
Meh, I watched more episodes of it than I did the Cleveland Show, but not many more. I’m sure it will be more fun the the Generic Thanksgiving event I imagined, lol.
As for predator, i am ok with not having everything, even if it is a sweet predator, but seeing it at 250 clams pretty much confirms for me that I was vastly over-charged for Bryan Cranton. 500 clams was worth it until your see that all the kewl characters that came out after for half the price.

I upped my gate to level 2 and have a poltergeist counter but no poltergeists. When I tap the counter, I get a message saying I have none. Am I missing something?

Which character should be crafted first….cat suit meg or mr, weed? Both characters use the same vials and they take awhile to amass. I hate that the same characters are used to drop multiple items for different unlocks. With a new event always being unleashed (which is awesome) it makes it hard to always put a costume on hold to shift to a time sensitive item. Can tinyco start letting different characters drop items for different costumes.

@commenters: please…before you ask any question.. you already found the reply button… just read 1 or 2 comments/questions from others….these are exactly the same you want to write…. it’s no big deal. Give our lovely bloggers a little break from it. They do help us with this game because they want to. So don’t stress them more with your actions. it takes approximatly 2 minutes to see there are problems with the predator and the ghosts….and there are already 10+ questions about this… don’t write another one…it’s only more “work” for others 😦

So according to the Halloween FAQs it is intended by TinyCo that ghosts don’t drop vials all the time. I just want to check what others think, because personally I find that sucks. At the beginning all my ghosts dropped spirits vials (3,5,7) and now maybe one out of four does. How are you supposed to buy stuff, if you can’t leavel up with the vials? It’s the only event currency. For freemium players there are only 2 initially, maybe 4 buildings now that provide you with a reliable income of vials. I think they handled it better with the nerds who always dropped blam. But maybe I’m alone in this opinion. I just want to see what other people think before I complain to Tiny Co, in case I’m being unreasonable. Clearly this was NOT intended from the beginning because there’s no way I had a lucky streak of every single ghost dropping spirit vials every single time I tapped them for a whole friggin’ week.

Anyway, I already complained. I was just about to purchase Cleveland with the new clam deal when I realized that the “free” vials they’re giving out are the ones no longer for with the ghosts. I don’t mind paying upfront for premium content but I really dislike being tricked into paying for premium content by taking away from freemium stuff. Just my humble opinion and in no way directed at the website. I did read the post but I do have to wonder if they have to look into their intentions and what they write in their FAQs you know? Glitches are one thing, they happen, but if they intentionally take something away that just makes me not wanna play at all anymore because I can’t trust what’s gonna be there if they change the basic rules of the game. KWIM?

I’m not trying to sound negative here but is it fair that I didn’t know about not clicking on Diane right away and missed out on getting her because the timer ran out?
Now the only way to clear poltergeists is through Diane or having to pay to clear them. Now if I don’t pay I won’t meet the weekly challenge and get the ghostbusters car and it’ll take forever to get helmets for quagmire and then clear banshees…basically not having Diane is going to put me way behind in this event.

A couple of questions, in comic con I was able to win the iron baby outfit for stewie and keep it until I unlock him is this the same for Cleveland’s Ghostbusters outfit? or do I have to have Cleveland first? If I do then I won’t be able to get the 25 clams for getting all 4 Ghostbusters which is a bit unfair. Also I just spent hard earned vials on predators ship only to find out I can’t continue that chain of challenges without spending clams on predator himself which I won’t be doing, so can I not resell his ship and get my vials back as I don’t want it in my town if it’s useless to me and how big of an effect will not doing it have? I refuse to spend any money on this game at the moment especially as I can’t afford it and this event feels like I have to. Also refuse to buy Cleveland with real money when all my friends got him in an event before I joined. I am so excited to hear that American dad is next but chances are I will stop playing by then as the game is impossible without spending a lot of real money

Money spent is completely an option and YOUR choice to make. It does change the aspect of the game and how you can play. There is still a lot for the Freemium player too though. Tons of cool content. Sorry your purchase was not what you hoped for.

Hi, I know lots of people are having issues with clearing poltergeists, but I haven’t actually had any yet. I’ve upgraded the portal and am getting banshee coming through, but not one poltergeist has appeared. Is this a glitch or is it cos I haven’t finished digging up Diane? Any help greatly appreciated

Oddly, my poltergeist counter seems to be working just fine for the challenge, at least the one I zapped this morning after starting the quest registered. I don’t seem to be getting any banshee spawns though. I bought predator last night and zapped one of the two banshees in my town, then set him on his 8 hr task while I slept. This morning, there’s still only the one banshee left. I’d expect to get at least one out of 6-7 spawns as a banshee, gonna have major problems with the rest of this event if they really have such a low spawn rate and this isn’t a bug, fingers crossed someone just messed up tho
