UPDATE BUNNY 2:10 PM EST: TinyCo JUST pushed a fix for the Poltergeists issue. For those players on Fright Level 7 and above, it seems to have impacted the most. So give it a moment to load and you should be good to go. 🙂
They are also looking into the issue of Banshees. Waiting for clarification on spawn rates, etc. Will update once we have more details.
MORE INFO… Banshees should be spawning 2 every 3 hours for a max of 4 in your town at once. So if you are not seeing them at this rate (you have to have Ghostbuster Quagmire to start to clear them and have them regenerate), please contact TinyCo.
UPDATE BUNNY: Sorry for the delay, was hurrying to get back to a signal so I could pass this on. We have already reported the issues with Predator not leveling up, Grey ghosts not droppin vials, and Poltergeists not counting that are impacting players. Will update when we get anymore info on it. Our hopes is they can locate and fix issues soon. They are working on it.

How do I see Phase 2 of the Halloween event?
You will need to upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal in order to access Phase 2 of Ghostbusters: Quahog’s Halloween. Upgrading will require at least Fright Level 2.
What triggers the Ghostbusters Challenge 2?
When you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal, this will trigger “Ghostbuster Challenge 2: We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Latchers.” This will require you to defeat 8 Poltergeist Latchers in 3 days to win the Ghostbuster Lockers.
What are the Poltergeists attached to my buildings?
When you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal, this will introduce a new ghostly creature into your town. Poltergeists will haunt Quahog’s buildings, making them too frightening to enter. Any character currently in the building will be trapped until the Poltergeist is cleared or moves to another building.
How do I clear the Poltergeists?
Tap on the building with the attached Poltergeist to clear it. You will need to use Ghost Traps to capture the Poltergeists. Ghost Traps take 6 hours to recharge, and you can get traps from Diane Simmons or the shop to instantly recharge.
Clearing a Poltergeist will reward Spirit Vials, XP and a chance for Poltergeist Talons and Colander Helmets.
What is the Poltergeists’ spawn rate?
A Poltergeist will spawn every 2.5 hours for a maximum of 3 in your town at a time. After 6 hours, the Poltergeist will move to a different building.
How do I unlock Ghostbuster Quagmire?
Ghostbuster Quagmire is available after you upgrade your portal to the Poltergeist Portal.
To unlock this costume, you will need the following items:
1,000 Spirit Vials
10 Ghost Condoms (rare) from Lois, Bonnie, Chris and the Goth Nightclub
10 Colander Helmets (rare) from Poltergeists, Ghostbusters HQ and Kamikaze Plane
15 PKE Meters (uncommon) from Mort, Quagmire, Bruce and Airplane Graveyard
If you unlock him, Ghostbuster Quagmire is yours to keep in the game permanently. You will have until the end of the entire Halloween event to unlock him, otherwise he will disappear from your game.
How do I get Banshee Tears?
In order to clear the Banshees and earn Banshee Tears, you will need to have the Ghostbuster Quagmire costume completed. Once complete, tap on the Banshees to clear them or start Quagmire’s action for “Zap Banshee” for your chance to collect Banshee Tears. You can also earn Banshee Tears from the Quahog Cannery and the Banshee Fountain.
How do I get the Predator?
The Predator will be available in the shop for 250 clams. He will zap Banshees and drop batteries to recharge the Ghost Traps.

Week 2 Challenge:
Week 2 Challenge Involves Trapping Poltergeists:
The challenge will start early in the questline, so be ready. You have 3 days to trap 8 Poltergeist and win the lockers. Once you’ve completed the challenge the lockers can be found in your inventory.
New Ghosts to Defeat:
Banshee- Ghostbuster Quagmire (or Predator) will clear them. They’ll drop Banshee tears. They come from the Portal.
Poltergeist- They’ll latch onto buildings and take them over (similar to Latcher Stewie). You’ll need Traps to defeat them. They drop Poltergeist Talons.
New Materials for Crafting:
Banshee Tears- Get from Clearing Banshees or from Various Buildings.
Talons- Get from Clearing Poltergeist or from Various Buildings.
Both items are needed to craft various items in the Cauldron…

As mentioned above…Poltergeists are now latchers for buildings in Quahog. You’ll need traps to clear them. When they’ve taken over a building they’ll look like this:
To clear it tap on it and and if you have a trap available (they recharge every 6hrs). You can also earn traps from Diane and Predator. They’re also available for purchase with clams.

I did the 9.99 deal now I have 350 clams. I used the 3000 vials for the hooter building as it always drops hands. I used 50 clams to get the plane to speed up getting gb quagmire. Now I have 300 clams but what show I get? What’s the biggest bang for my buck? Consuela? Predator? Buzzkillington? Or maybe a building? I bow to your expertise. 🙂

I LOVE Predator, myself…I would wait to see all that the event has to offer limited time items and maybe pick up one of those that most appeals to you to have AFTER the event. Consuela…I would say to hold off on since she is always there and you may be able to pick her up at a later date.

I have yet to unlock Mr.Giggity’s new costume BUT I have purchased the Predator with the clams i’ve been saving up. He cleared 2-3 banshees and now they’re not showing up anymore. Are they not going to show up until I have Quagmire’s costume?! 😦 Cuz that sucks!!

First purchase in the game I had to buy the predator for lots of function as far as help get batteries for traps, and killing banshees before quagmires outfit is unlocked. Also the $10 banshee tears and 3000 vials with purchase of $10 clams seemed like a good time to buy.the other reason I had to buy the predator, becauuse it is freaking the predator one of the best sci fi villains made. Also his decortion earns vials and fright points. After talking to the animation director at happy hour he convinced me to buy it by saying he has a lot of funny animations.
It was so great to meet bunny, alissa, and the tiny co team. The company employees are so awesome. I was the one in the utilikilt with bowler hat, goggles, black with buckles shirt and playing with my balls 😉 lol.i cant hdlp but play with my balls. (Juggling ones in public)

Suddenly today I now have two more banshees but I still do not have GB Quagmire so I think there is some discrepancy there. Regardless, I’m not going to worry about it until I have GB Quagmire or Predator to zap them with. If they don’t respawn after that, then I’ll complain! 🙂

Predator is totally worth it! Great animations and he can earn both traps and banshee tears. What about the brian prize box? I need everything in it and really want the ring girl or the vial factory, but not sure the rest is worth risking 100 clams… Any thoughts?

I love this Halloween update so far! I have had Cleveland since the Full Moon event and I’ve been waiting for him to become useful!

I really like this event and the game itself. I think that TinyCo has many great ideas for events, but it seems like this game is becoming better for premium players. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s pointless for people not to spend at least some money on this game (I certainly have), but the way they are pricing things, it seems to be getting more difficult to get many of the objects in the game without paying quite a bit of dough. Although I do love their ideas.

Issue resolved. However, I am serious about this intervention. .. I heard that a certain drunk programmer is getting into some heavier stuff, and taking our beloved mayor’s name in vain. Not to mention he is an obvious a bad_alloc sympathizer. And he has been putting his code into other apps. Consuela told me he possibly contracted an std:bad_alloc. He told me my town was the only one that mattered to him. I feel like such a cuckold.

I’m loving the event but I have to agree a bit with Sean, once Phase 1 completed, which seemed to drag on with sometimes little to do (I completed Tom Tucker and Adam West during this phase also) then Phase 2 popped and suddenly there are a dozen quests. It was a bit sudden and heavy.

Now onto pressing matters…. Just recieved a quest in game to dig up/create Mr Weed? Wouldnt normally question this however it looks as though he is the grand prize and costs over 17000 vials to create. Many other prizes hidden before him and he is last on that prize list. Was this intentional?????
Also… I think Tinyco need a little more testing before events…Perhaps using you girls as Beta Testers. Since the update its been crashing alot for me and that shouldnt happen on my Galaxy S5 with the power that device has. Thankfully i didnt fall foul of the latchers not counting or anything like that although i did lose Slutty Cat Meg as it crashed just after i created her and when i loaded back up didnt have her and lost the stuff used to create her.

Banshees will come after you create GB Quagmire. Ghosts only have a “chance” at vials or other item drops. It says so in the help menu. Find the question regarding it in the Halloween troubleshooting section. It is not a glitch. It is a chance.

Also I have not had a single Banshee appear since the two that appeared with upgrading the portal. I cleared those two with Predator so now there are none left for him to clear with none appearing and none on the way in the portal.

So far drop rates on Quagmire’s outfit are pretty odd for me. I am having the “Ghost Condom” drop like an uncommon and the PKE Meter barely dropping like a rare. Anyone else experiencing this. Also have not had a single colander helmet drop yet…

I have everything but the last 3 Colander helmets. The colanders have been my biggest pain in the butt. They only show up once every 4 or 5 traps. Other than that it looks like they only spawn in the ghost busters headquarters. I have only seen that happen when a poltergeist took over the building and I used a trap on it. I am so close now I will wait it out with the traps but **** 6 hours to wait for a possible helmet sucks. Not going to pay for the two premium buildings that also spawns them now but I can see this problem coming up lots in the future. I do love the game but the constant plea’s for my real money can get irritating.

Pleas for money? Not really. I see multiple options for players to offer a different gaming style depending on how YOU choose to play. Some want to spend money, so there are options for that. Some do not, so options there. Keep in mind SOMEONE has to pay to keep all this cool stuff coming in to the players. Not to mention feed the families of those creating the game. 🙂

I’m not getting any banshees from my portal. After the first 2 have been cleared I have not had anymore for over 15 hours. Is this a glitch???

I guess they didn’t sell enough of the premium items that give you spirit vials. The FAQ says the ghosts not dropping anything is working as intended.

Actually, I did read the top of the post. I also checked the in-game FAQ to see if they had made any progress, and when I posted this, the Halloween Troubleshooting FAQ had an entry for ghosts not dropping vials. In that entry, TInyCo said that they were only supposed to have a chance of dropping vials and that they were working as intended. They’ve since removed that entry from the FAQ, but it was there this morning, well after you had posted that they were looking into it.

I think there was confusion. There was an “illusion” that the drops changed as items that usually spat out in between vial drops no longer dropped. So it made it seem more as though nothing was happening. Short story long, they still wanted to double check it and as of a lil while ago tweeted the ghosts should be dropping as intended. 😉

That really blows that the colanders are only dropped from a building and a plane that you buy with clams. I hate that so damn much.

Totally agree especially since I have collected it twice and not a single one has dropped.
Also as cool as Predator is, he isn’t doing me any good if my town doesn’t have any banshees 😦

Colanders can also be dropped when trapping a Latching Poltergeist. So far, I’ve gotten the same number of Colander drops as Ghost Condoms. So, IMHO, it doesn’t seem to be too burdensome yet.
