I’ve just got to comment on how right Tinyco got it on this event. From the very outset giving premium and reward characters a purpose to this release making Freddy a free character & setting up a bomb & trap exchange, every little criticism I had about comic con has been addressed to perfection. It’s almost like the game developers are reading this silly lil blog (wink, wink).
So long as they don’t go dropping a stripper Bonnie faux pax on us (although a Transformer Chris could be justified) I will definitely give this one a 10 when the poll comes out.
& once again, excellent work walking us through this “nightmare” Bunny & Alissa.

What the hell Tinyco! Giving us a character we all thought would be premium for free? What kind of game are they trying to play? 🙂 In all seriousness, does anyone else feel as though they’re lulling us into a false sense of security with these prizes? Most frequent players probably have enough to craft everything already. I’m wondering if something else is in the pipeline for before the event ends.

Already have Freddy cleared and the Ecto-1 secured; if you craft the three items, you have three options for the fourth item:
Option 1, complete the 4-hour task that requires both Peter and Quagmire (and get disappointed by the animation [/spoiler])
Option 2. start the aforementioned task, spend 24 clams and get it over with
Option 3, spend TEN clams at Freddy to skip it just as fast as 2.
Overall though, the event has been pretty well-executed, and in good humor; can’t wait for the next one, as well as to find out if Stewie ever gets his plutonium

With limited spirit vials, I’m trying to decide between going for Mr. Weed first, or Freddy and Connie’s costume. Do any of them drop smore parts? That seems to be my best vial earner.

Man the vials needed to get everything in the cauldron seems unreachable for me. I think I managed to get 25k total the whole event.
Am I doing something wrong here? Comic Con I managed to get 99% of the stuff despite being freemium and I played this one with the dame diligence. But this one looks bleak.

Do we get the great news of going straight into the American Dad updates or do we have a small Xmas update to take us over to the new year and then get it in Jan?

I started to unlock stewies level just as haloween started. I still need 2 plutonium. I’m also hoping to unlock him by end of this event. Luckily, Lois has spent most of the event looking for it since the only other thing she could do was drink.

I managed to get 17.5k vials in 3 days just stayin at 25 x modifier on stay puff. You just have to wait til you have enough for the other 2 rockets or are close enough you can get there within 24 hours. Dont go shooting your load off the second you got it basically. I had 60 purple rockets while switchin between red and blue a couple times so it was really easy. I hit him like 5 times yesterday.

I crafted Freddy as well and nothing happened. I did have a quest pop up that asked me to upgrade the Portal to stage 4 (Stay Puff), but I’ve already done that. Not sure what the problem is.

When I brewed Sexy Witch Connie, Connie herself was busy. She had an exclamation point over her, but tapping it did nothing. Once she was available, I was able to send her on Sexy Witch Connie tasks (including earning a rocket), but there doesn’t seem to be a quest line. I hope I didn’t miss out on it due to a glitch.

So glad they gave us a bit of a break with this weeks update. Hoping that they possibly give us one more update. Would be nice to have a lake and cabin for Jason and the Elm Street house for Freddy. Glad that they are allowing us to convert some stuff to make vials. It was also good that they added a category for the Halloween characters that give 100 clams for having all 4. All in all enjoying the Halloween event. Only 5700 vial left to go to get the bunch of bats and sexy witch Connie and that will complete everything released so far.
One a funny note, has anyone noticed the action for Peter and Quagmire “Crossing Streams” task. Just have a look for them. Quite good LOL.

Love that you can trade bombs and traps you definitely get more vials that way but I saved a few traps incase they latch on to a building I’m using also I will save my rockets I think I can earn way more from stay puft man I’m going to save as many rockets as I can over the next week and bomb him alot the night before hopefully to get the remaining items in the cauldron

Actualoy the vials for thetraps is 75 the same amount you get for the leacher (only difference is the added decoration) as for the stink bombs that does seem to be a good trade. I’ve asked tiny co to add the option to opt in to earn clams for watching ads (thus far I’ve gotten no response yet) I hope some of you out there will suggest the same so that people with time but not alot of money will be able to afford some more premimum items (I missed out on Alien and Predater cause I can’t come up with the cash to buy clams) On a somewhat related note (most of you probably aren’t in this situation) I literally have NO friends that play this game meaning events, task and Ollieville are mynonly chance to get clams (just saying it would be nice to get some from watching ads) they’d get money from the ad agency while I’d get my clams and by using an opt in option no one who didn’t want to watch any ad’s would ever be bothered to do so.

You get the exact same payout trading a trap as you would using it. 3 bombs for only 100 vials ? Guess it’s ok if you struggle getting kids lined up. And there’s no way you can outdo the results of the stay puff multiplier by trading them. I mean I guess it’s cool they allow you to trade items for the exact same or less vials but I’m disappointed. The crowd called out for vials to get Mr Weed and they came out with a way to get less. Underwhelmed. Mr Weed is going to be a stretch but I might make it. Apart from the paltry vial payout the event has been grat so far.

Has anyone done the math on whether it’s better to bomb stay puft or trade rockets for vials? I really need vials! I have 975 or so and I’m about to get 1,500 more when I bomb Stay Puft for what will probably be the last consecutive time. I want to get Mr Weed, Connie’s costume, and Freddy (haven’t started him of course). I think I’m going to try for Mr Weed and end up buying Connie’s costume instead during the last few hours of the event.
I’ll be happy to see this end, as I’m in the middle of trying to find the stolen plutonium to unlock district 9, but I’ve enjoyed it. Most of the time, I don’t have a fighting chance in special events, but now that Ive unlocked most of the characters it’s a lot more fun

But good news is that you can trade in stink bombs, traps and rockets for vials. The Stink bomb is the best deal. Getting 10 vials for 3 stink bombs is such more than you would ever get from using 3 bombs on the trick or treaters.

i don’t know about that, i average at least 4 or 5 kids with each bomb hit. each kid gives out at least 3 vials, sometimes 5. now sure sometimes they give the candy instead but for me at least, its always 80% vials or higher. so using three bombs would get me at least 20-30 vials.

If you hit the max 45 kids from 3 stink bombs you will get 150 vials plus candy corns and a chance of clams so much better in my opinion

That doesn’t sound right. I regularly get 10 or more T&Ts with a single bomb, and they each drop either a vial or a candycorn. I would prefer more things to spend vials on, actually — I have over 25k and nothing much to spend them on.

Just got enough to unlock him via my last Stay Puft kill. Should have the 3000 more to get Freddy within a day or so. Already have the ingredients to unlock him (no Banshees, woohoo!). If I’m lucky the next bomb requirement will be the one I have 25 of. The kicker is going to be the 5000 vials and the Banshee Tears for Witch Connie. Everything else would be gravy. Got plenty of Goop already, so before too long I should have enough that it will be more feasible to ignore Stay Puft and turn rockets directly into vials.

I’ve traded about 10 traps so far for 76 vials each time but it’s not taking the traps off my total, seems like a free way to collect them. Gonna continue til they fix it. Great blog by the way, keep up the good work.

Just be grateful that tinyco listen to us and let us trade at least something in for something else. They didn’t have to do it…they don’t make any money for it.

OK let me try this again since my first response may have not posted as too snarky …
Please don’t immediately dismiss an indication of a poor game mechanic as “whining”. Your analogy doesn’t hold up, because this isn’t the equivalent of turning harpoons & bombs into something useful; this is turning harpoons INTO bombs; and as a cursory review of the replies to all of the Halloween posts would tell you … it’s turning the resource everyone has into the resource several people are lacking. It’s very frustrating to have someone read a comment as a “complaint” and not actually READ the comment properly. You’re being just as overly generic and whiny as you accuse me of being by not giving the post any value. That’s internet troll 101.
#s for game play on any decently designed game should not be arbitrarily designed. There are entire college courses devoted to game design and/or game balance (I am auditing one from MIT’s online courses now), and as much as I appreciate TinyCo’s customer services efforts, the real answer here is that they should be testing this stuff before releasing it. “Well, we have 5 different resources, and people say they have leftovers, so let’s let them turn X into Y” is sloppy. They should recognize that X is the one that people need, not Y, and that Z and Q are the ones that are in surplus.
Bottom line: The conversion offer doesn’t help those of us who didn’t spend clams. It’s a tease. I haven’t done the precise, but I’d be willing to guess that I have all of the ingredients needed to brew EVERY cauldron item that I’m missing, but need thousands and thousands of Vials. I have 4 or 5 people doing nothing but Balloons; I have the only 2 people I can making Traps. Yet I’ve needed them (particularly the Traps, since they’ve repeated the mistake from ComicCon of letting the Latchers trap people inside buildings)/
My apologies to Bunny et al if this conversation is giving them any aggravation. However, I’m not a random whining denizen of the internet; I don’t “complain” without some forethought.

Use them to brew some more zombies and make a horde. Or brew a bunch of trees with hanged skeletons. There still may be some more stuff to brew coming (the Elm St. House, Jason’s lake with canoe in it, Sigourney Weaver playing double duty (Ripley and Zuul), who knows?) but for now I’m keeping them until I know there is no more new content them brewing me a Walking Dead zombie horde army.

As I had plenty of items and vials, the Freddy challenge was easy, so I decided to splash on 10 Clams and skip the streams (I’ll be making 10 clams back via the Fright Level Upgrade soon), so that is all 5 challenges done and 1 shiny Ecto-1 in my possession.
For me, now it’s just a case of getting some more vials to get the remaining items left in my cauldron, mainly Connie’s outfit, Stay Puft and Alien Queen. Any other item is a bonus, but with about 8 days to collect up, I think I should be good.
Also, the vial brewing option seems ok, though I’d probably say keep rockets on Stay Puft, swap bombs for vials as the pay-off is better (at least in comparison to my average for the kids), and traps have a similar drop for vials. Should be a good final few days.

That is all up to YOU. How many kids you hit with each bomb. If you maximize all earning potentials. Hit Stay Puft. Etc.

Got Freddy, i horded a lot, did spend 10 clams to have skip Peter/Quagmire cross streams task, they were in the middle of other tasks, i couldn’t wait any longer. Now I have to see how to get enough vials for Stewie’s/Connie’s costumes and Mr. Weed.

To unlock Freddy quagmire and Peter need to cross streams. Then you need to unlock the three Freddy items. The car shed and whatever the third item is. You do this and Freddy is u locked.

To unlock Connie first or go for Freddy first…decisions decisions.

Woo hoo! Got Freddy, Ecto1. Got my 100 clams for collecting all the monsters and bought a mystery macabre item and got the lab. With the lab and 25x Stay Puft bonus(if I can keep it going). I’ll have enough vials to brew everything. I just started playing Oct 7th so I missed out on pink Brian and the other previous event stuff. Hopefully they will bring them back and I’ll be a happy camper
