An all new event has hit our Tiny Quahogs and it’s Christmas in Quahog. Of course Christmas means…Die Hard! After all it’s one of the best Christmas movies of all time, right? 😉
So let’s take a look at the quick walkthrough for John & just what happens when you purchase him for your Quahog…
This questline will start before you purchase John (Part 1), but it will not continue to part 2 and beyond and unless you purchase John.

I’m actually kinda disappointed in Thai character, I spent the clams to get him specifically because he could do more damaged the yeti. However, on several occasions, instead of doing the minimum 2 damage he is supposed to, he only inflicts 1 damage. I messaged tinyco and they didn’t seem to care too much.

Bunny people sure like to complain about the game and whatnot it seems like. Seems to me people should know that if you are just joining a freemium game that you prob won’t get all Christmas characters and avatars. You have to either play it a lot or pay for the extra stuff. Once you been playing for along time and have more characters its way easier to get stuff. I’m almost leveled out and not sure if I’ll get Jesus but sure hope I do. Nothing easy is ever fun unless it’s easy girls. Take a chill pill people

So here’s an interesting question… my Yeti is due to get out of hibernation in 3 hours. The tree can be upgraded in 4 hours, at which point hopefully the bigger levels of the Yeti will be unlocked.
If I wait until the tree can be upgraded in 4 hours (at which point my Yeti will have been out of hibernation for an hour), does the Yeti automatically go to the next level Yeti? Or do I need to defeat him and wait another 4 hours for the higher level Yeti?

I am not sure if he will auto jump to the next one. As he was just introduced. Will just have to see.

Seems like everyone’s on the same page bout the quest line. Honestly, I skip a lot of quest lines to keep the character busy on what I need him to b and I don’t really care about the quest lines because there’s never anything cool at the end, just the same 25 cookies, 2 or 5 cheer points. This is a reason I’m thankful to u guys for these walkthrus- so I can make sure I won’t miss something cool by skipping quests

I think they should increase the time to 8 hours. Who sleeps for 4 hours? Definitely won’t make it this time, but maybe for a future event.

I WISH I could sleep for four hours. I know, though, that I’m hardly normal. It bites having sleep problems, but I often can check my game in the middle of the night!

I think they are definitly going to have to upgrade the damage the characters can inflict for the next level. It should be 2-3 for Lois and Mort and 3-5 for John.

Personally I don’t think the payouts enough for defeating the childish yetti even with all 3 characters at one time. 12 ice stockings is all you get? I would increase the value of way more then 12.

You are getting 12? My childish only gives me 10 snowflakes stockings when defeated. The next level I am thinking 15 or 20 might be the payout. (The first three incarnations pay 2, 5 and 10, so either it an add 5 or a double of last payout). Am sweating the addition though if they don’t add another Yeti fighter. I am currently clearing the Childish fine, but if next Yeti is one that could be failed with the three, I don’t want to have to restart at Viking Yeti to again get my snowflakes for Jesus.

Yeah, I’m terrified at the thought of them raising the HP level of the next yeti to something silly like 30…that would for sure ruine my kill streak…it’ll probably require another clam purchase character or one that is equally as difficult to unlock as Morts new skin.
Honestly, I’m not liking this yeti battling task…it’s too stressful…if you wanna beat him AND earn enough stockings for Jesus, you have to almost put your real life on hold in four hour increments so you can constantly put the characters on task the instant their timers are up.
So yeah, like everyone else, my John is ONLY battling the yeti…no time for him to be doing anything but.

Has anyone beated the childish yeti having JUST Lois and Mort attacking? He has 18 health.. you can have 6 strikes (no seconds wasted)= 12 with the 2 characters
80% of the time they do only 1 damage… so it gets virtually imposible to do without getting John… and I really dont want to 😦 because a) i dont see the relation to Xmas and B) i dont like Die Hard

LOTS of luck and on it every 4hrs…head start with one of them like in the Cowboy Yeti post helps. Give them feedback on your experience. I did.

Thank the Director. He has a “thing” for putting the bear in his films. It is Vermont Teddy Bear you can see John taking to his family in the Die Hard film. You can also catch the bear at the end of the Hunt For Red October.

I’m slaughtering yetis left & right with the triple threat of Lois, Mort & John, but childish yeti keeps repeating after you beat it. Any idea when Tophat & King Yetis will open up so I can crush the everliving dayligjts out of them, as well?

Lotta long tasks for the yeti fighting workhorse. Most of this is just going to have to wait until after I find Jesus.

is it impossible to beat Childish Yeti without buying John? I have enough clams to buy him, but i don’t really like him.

Impossible? No. Difficult. Yes. If you use the trick they suggest on this site, where you leave either Mort or Lois attacking the Yeti while the other finishes it off, allowing that one still attacking to get one shot in right off the bat as soon as the Yeti wakes back up, you can attack six times with one of them (the one you left attacking) and five with the other. That’s anywhere between 11 and 22 points worth of damage. Assuming there are equal odds of getting 1 or 2 damage on a given attack (more on that later), that makes 16 or 17 being the most likely outcomes, followed by 15 and 18, then 14 and 19, etc. Only anything 18 or above will KO the Yeti, of course, so the odds are against you. By comparison, Lois and John can get you anywhere between 16 and 23, with the spread being similarly centered on 19 or 20.
I have yet to unlock Hanukkah Mort (only one Shield needed, so I should be getting him in the next day or so), but my own experiences with Lois and John suggest the odds skew a bit toward higher damage, making it somewhat more likely to get 18 damage in time, but it’s still going to be difficult with just Lois and Mort.

Sorry, bad math. Given 11 attacks between them, John and Lois get you anywhere between 16 (10 from John and 6 from Lois) and 28 (18 from John and 10 from Lois), not 16 and 23. Needless to say, John makes a huge difference.

That 24 hour task put an end to his quest line for me. He was purchased for Yeti duty. I may finish it after I have all of the other prizes wrapped up. 🙂

Finally TinyCo has figured out how to remove the quest line from the list for those of us who don’t buy the premium characters. I ran out of quest line room during Halloween, when the Predator, Alien and Jason quest lines were all stacked up on the list. New quests were being held back until I could clear some out, and the useless premium quest lines just sat there all event taking up space waiting for me to buy those characters. This time I built the Nakatomi Tower and then the quest line went away because I did not buy McClane. Now there is more room for other quests on the list. Hurray TinyCo for figuring this out.

It’s John McClane!
No Christmas without him.
I realized some hours before he was released that Stan got a new Nakatomi Plaza quest, like i mentioned on Facebook.
I hoped, and prayed for it and when i got up after sleep he was there and i bought him immediately.
I would have bought him without doubt, but for the cause of the Yeti he is a great help. Similar to Jason during Halloween.

I only did the first few parts until I got to the 6hr task, now I’m keeping him attacking the Yeti with Mort and Lois so I can keep him on the Childish Yeti streak, I’ve opened all the Snowflake Gift Boxes and have 65 Snowflakes, so just need another 35 to unlock Jesus.

I have only done the first 3 tasks – once it got to a 14 hour task – I said forget about it – and just have Jon attacking the Yeti – with both Mort and Lois – and sleeping through the night – I can usually get this done over a 16 hour time frame – only 76 more stockings until Jesus 🙂 – and 4500 cookies….

I got him i watch Die Hard Every year on Christmas. I have him on yeti duty most of his quest take to long i want Jesus lol but it isnt Xmas with out John McClane. Bring back Patrick Stewart I just started playing i gotta have him….

Same here. I did the shorter tasks while the Yeti was respawning, but now I’m up to the 14 hr task, and I cant spare him for that long. Maybe after I get enough snowflakes for Jesus. Even with John, Lois, and Mort together it still takes a long time to get 100 snowflakes.

I’ve reached part 6 but the 24hr task will have to wait until I’ve racked up enough snowflakes for Jesus, if I want to sleep at all I need all 3 characters battling the yeti

Same here. I let him do the 14 hour task because I was running out the Yeti’s timer, but 24 hours is too long to spare him for now. On the bright side, I used him to wrap an extra gift for friends with the other half of Yeti’s countdown time.
I’m trying not to get antsy about the snowflake stockings. I feel like I’m a million away from Jesus, even with buying McLane and the premium building, but I know TinyCo always comes through to make these achievable. At least most of me knows it… 🙂

I hear ya. Need the snowflake stockings way more so that we can get jesus. I still have the last 3 tasks for John to and not gonna waste him on them at the moment. I already have tons of cookies and working toward cheers level 9 so the small amounts we get from him for task prizes are not worth missing out on defeating the Yeti and getting Jesus.

Yeah, I am up part 4. I refuse to take him off Yeti patrol. And since cooldown is only 4hr he is too busy. (Though he has only taken one off. I have lucked out and have kept him going even while Yeti is down).

Haha. I thought I had beaten the game when I managed to do Johns 14hr task without it hindering the yeti slaying. Then it hits me with a fat 24hr task. Curses and cranberries!! Not even PETA will stop me from killing yetis haha – especially as the top hat-clad one appears SOON! Finishing Johns quest line will have to take a back seat in Argyles limo. Thanks for the update ladies.

I bought John just for the Yeti. Checking out elevator shafts can wait until after Christmas. I’m currently sitting on 50 snowflake stockings and 11500 cookies. Hopefully I’ll have Jesus by the weekend!

I’m on part 6 (the 24 hour mission). Will this storyline go away with event? I’ve been using him to battle the Yeti. Should I stop doing that and work through his stuff? I’ll still have Lois and Mort fighting him.

We do not know yet. It is not critical to complete his quest line, so I would set it aside and attack the Yeti to get the stockings first.

I’ve been using John, solely for attacking the Yeti. I did get his quest line done, up to “Explore the elevator shaft”, by doing his tasks while the Yeti is waiting to respawn. The ‘explore the elevator shaft’ task is 24 hrs and that’s too much time for him to be busy right now, so when I get enough snowflakes for Jesus, I’ll send him out to do that. 😀

Think this questline is a little too much for a guy you are spending 200 clams on to beat the Yeti. Defeats the purpose. If you do the questline now, you risk dropping the streak, and taking longer for the 4th Yeti Thursday. I may finish through part 4 and after I get the 100 for Jesus, I’ll finish this off.

Though I’m with you. I haven’t started the 24 hour quest step for John because I sincerely doubt there’s any way to beat the Childish yeti without him, and there’s no way I’m going to lose my current yeti battle streak because I want to unlock Jesus.
I do wish you got something other than gingerbread men and holiday cheer for completing his questline. Maybe a giant teddy bear ornament… LOL
