Have some feedback from TinyCo on the Romancing the Clam Event I wanted to share.
There are some questions we have been seeing pop up over an over, so I wanted to just double check on them first before sharing with you. Let’s take a look…
WHAT IS THE SPAWN RATE ON THE PERFUME SPRAYERS?
The Sprayers will spawn 4 at a time every 4 hours for a MAX of 6 total in your town at a time.
In other words, if you already have 4 and don’t clear them… only 2 will spawn on the next round as you will hit your MAX. So clear them when you can.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE HINTS ON DATES?
As an added twist of fun and to help, TinyCo dropped hints in the dating areas to help you locate some possible good matches, mainly ones that drop prizes. You do NOT need to get these right to clear the hint or change it. There are there as just what they say… a hint. Nothing more. You don’t have to complete them, or get them right to move on, or anything like that at all. They will just randomly change around in both locations off and on for you to enjoy and see just how accurate your Family Guy knowledge can be. So enjoy. 😉

WHO IS IN THE OTHER BENCH?
If you go to your neighbors Quahoge over to the Event area, you can tap on the benches to see who is inside. This is where we see it lists Cupid as the next one.
WHAT IS WITH THE NEW TIMER ICONS?
We briefly covered this, but I wanted to go over it again. If you updated your device to the latest version in the App Market (1.6.8 in Android) you will now be able to see just how much longer you have to wait for the PDA Couples to spawn in your town.
WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER HEART PRIZES?
Due to Player requests, TinyCo added icons so you would KNOW what items were going to be on Hate side and Love side. This was to help Players know what Hearts to collect.
Now for the questions… we do NOT nor will NOT know any information on the upcoming prizes until they are actually released and live in the game. Until then, any information is only speculation. So if you want to know how many Hearts, you will have to assume at is at LEAST 100 Hate or 200 Love (as that is the last batch). As far as anything else, we will have our usual breakdown when it hits and when we are able to test the items out live in the game, so hang in there til Thursday for the next phase.
WHAT ABOUT LOIS AND THE FIRE HAZARD BED PRIZE?
For a few Players, you will NOT be able to send Lois on dates. During testing of the Phase, TinyCo found a bad glitch that messed with Lois due to the Wizard Nerds wandering Quahog in District 7. To combat this, they disabled the ability for those Players to send Lois on dates. They are working on something else in the meantime and we will pass on any information in regards to the Prize Peter and Lois would have dropped when we get an update on the issue. In the meantime, hang in there. Plenty of other Characters to send. 🙂

Either my app isn’t responding correctly and the affection meter isn’t moving, or the Bonnie Swanston character is reallllllly expensive. I have 189 broken hearts but the indicator is still in the middle, suggesting that I might have to collect thousands of broken hearts to get this.
Can you please clarify how many broken hearts are needed for the Brookfield Insane Asylum.

Just had a weird moment recently where a second batch of PDA couples appeared just a mere moment after the first batch. Not sure if that was “normal.” Hope I didn’t indirectly cheat to obtain a prize via collecting the hearts.
*note: this was before the game got updated with more easier-to-tell Love couples.

I have a question. Will there be a way to catch up on hearts I am almost finished with Lois vday gift quest. But I fear because I haven’t been able to get on it every two hours I have fallen severely behind and my goal is to get hot meg for this event. Should I buy he romantic thorough or Arnold if so which one gives the better hearts payout or should I just go with both of them?

Seems like each step that add more ways to get hearts,so I do think you’ll be ok once it hits 🙂

Just remember to steadily place characters on coffee dates and u’ll Accumulate hearts much faster. U can get up to 5 hearts each time & u can replay the same characters dates.

Well, it looks like my Glenda is trapped in a task because the game won’t allow me to move the screen to where she is located because of all the crazy jittering. When I try to scroll the screen to get to her it always jumps past it. TinyCo needs to fix this bug ASAP! I never had this problem when my game was overrun with characters I had to bomb during other events and there were twice as many.

Is Stewie supposed to be able to date? one of the hints is someone wearing a diaper and I can’t think who else it would be but I can’t send him on dates… Unless its Mr Herbert?

Cheryl tiegs is easier to get than I thought started today and I already have 7 industrial fans, 8 violins and 5 70’s swimsuits, I also found a small glitch were when I click on Ida to finish perfume task her item drops as if it was from Glenda and vice versa. Also just today I clicked on Glenda to finish her task and she dropped two violins.

The only thing that has me baffled is why they chose to reissue the Brookefield Insane Asylum. Added to that the flexibility they have shown throughout the game.
Despite the fact that many have stated they already own the Asylum and would prefer it be swapped out with the Voodoo shack, Tinyco has made no move to change that.
This leads me to believe that there’s a higher purpose for the Asylum.
But then again, this might be the prize on the path of least resistance, because once Hot Meg is live and worth (conservative estimate) 1000 hearts, it might be a LOT easier to want the duplicate building at a lesser hearts price point in order to be certain that you will get your Hot Meg before the deadline, right?

So effectively, I feel that once I hit the mark, I am not collecting ANY hearts until I know what’s going on for sure. Ground zero, at least I stand a running chance.

Think of it this way, many scream NOT enough space. So… they have been reusing previous buildings so players that already have it get a head start and new ones get a chance to get something they may have missed. I think its a good idea for them to reuse what’s in the game instead of another building added to the ever growing list. 😉

I’ve collected 32,000 valentines so far. Is there a bigger picture to collecting these or am I left with what’s to buy with them in the store?

Well poo. I had two days left for Ida, and due to the ice storm we got, got too busy with cleaning, and clearing brush, and answering wreck calls to finish the last 1/3 of the pieces I needed. Logged in last night to have them offer Ida for clams. Of which I was short 14 😦
So I lost out on Ida.
But now got Cheryl and sprayers to look forward to! Thanks for all the info cause it sure makes a difference in the game 🙂

I hate these couples. Unlock an item, CRASH, now I have to wait three hours to unlock the same item.
Worst event yet. Just make hot Meg for clams because this is crap.

I’m not sure if I’m reading some of these comments right but a lot of players seem concerned about collecting too many hearts of one type because they want to change track for the next prize?
I thought their heart tally reset to 0 each time a prize was won, therefore they won’t need to backtrack. Plus the latest game change shows what the next prize is so players will be aiming for what they want.

It does after you’ve won a prize, but you can build up hearts in between prizes. But yes, it shows exactly what the prizes are for the next round.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe people are worried that one will cost more hearts than the other. Last round was either 100 hate hearts or 200 love hearts. It could slow them down if one prize is more hearts and they have to keep earning more than they thought? That’s the only possible obstacle I can think of.

It looks like TinyCo fixed the jittering screen and scramble problem. All of a sudden it hasn’t happened for the last few hours and I haven’t change anything on my game.

No, it’s still happening. In fact, it just got significantly worse for me. Before, just the sprayers would disappear. They were there, just invisible. At my last login, the whole game now shakes and freezes, and there are crazy, color lines where a character is fending off a sprayer. One thing I noticed, which may help TC fix bug, is that the game seems ok if I can get away from sprayers. This is harder than it sounds, which is why I haven’t ingame messaged them yet. The game opens on my stretch of road and therefore sprayers glitch the game almost immediately. But, if I can manage to get to a part of town with no sprayers, game loads and functions fine. The minute a sprayer comes on screen; incessant shaking, freezing, moves back and forth, etc…

It was with the latest Android release. It’s probably an update that’s sitting with Apple waiting for approval.

I had the nerds in my town and just cleared them (didn’t take long at all) and was then able to use Lois. Hope that it works for others.

If you have extra chumba wumbas other than the two you make at the factory, just have Stewie get rid of the remaining extras and they do go away. fyi.

awesome recap!! Has anyone come across coffee dates that drop swimsuits? I saw a few park dates that do, but haven’t seen a coffee date combo yet. Thanks in advance

I deleted some roads to keep my couples in 1 spot. I had Meg’s pink car on 1 of them. I thought her car would go straight to inventory but it didn’t and I lost the car. How can I get it back?

Did you store it? If so, it’s there. Probably stuck in the middle of a bunch of other random things. Just scroll slowly in the decorations tab in Inventory

If you dlete the road it is on it disappears and only reappears when you place the road where it was on back I’ve had this problem with meg’s car and some other characters that walk on roads.

There very nice at tinyco I was beefing a week ago over shared item tasks like Herbert collecting for valentines and district 10 + few other examples and there like we understand here’s 25 clams! + I’ve had Cheryl out for 1 day and have gotten everything except 3 fans so she’s pretty easy as far as my game goes u don’t need Arnold if u unlocked Ida and have Glenda

Hi, I have a problem with the splashers. As the walk around it’s all fine. but at the time they (supposed) stop and spray, the character becomes a bunch of nasty lines that moves really fast. It’s a glitch. I updated to the latest… Did you heard about this?

I’m a Lois glitch sufferer. I have put on hold fixing up the amusement park and unlocking Stewie hoping that would prevent the whole nerd debacle. Alas, no such luck.

Contacted tinyco already but was curious if anyone else was experiencing what I am. So I have both Ida and Glenda shooing sprayers at the same time. So when I clear Ida’s check mark any item I receive from her pops up next to Glenda and vice versa. Anyone else having this issue?

Items always pop out AWAY from the location. Not right next to them. So the question is…are they doing the tasks close to each other? Or the other side of your town?

definitly not that close to each other. Not a huge deal. But it’s odd. When I hit the check mark it seems as if I didn’t get any money, xp, valentines, or items until I look over at Glenda who still has a check above her head but has a fan, violin, and valentines cards surrounding her.

Like I said. It happens. I have coins and items spit out from buildings in odd places from time to time as well as from Characters. The things is to just make sure you get a payout when supposed to. 😉

My stuff popped out in all kinds of crazy places for shooing sprayers. Sometimes I wouldn’t think I got anything but then when I checked my total haul I had got items I didn’t realize as I was clicking them. It was a nice surprise, but the items did seem to pop up in weird places when I saw them.

Does anyone else playing on a nexus 5 have their game crash ramdomly?
Super frustrating when it does so while i’m tapping couples amd then i just lose hearts and the spawn. 😦

I hate the hearts being a secret… I want the asylum and have had 100 broken hearts. I am scared to get more since I want Meg next (love hearts). Due to this… I cannot do anything round after round of PDA. Now watch me need more and have wasted days due to this nonsense wait

Like I said earlier… THIS is the backlash of wanting TinyCo to make a challenge easier. You get AHEAD of the game instead of staying in sync. It is player request the icons for upcoming prizes were added as well as increased drops and animation added for the Heart PDA Couples.
Myself, I prefer a surprise element and love a challenge. If I know EVERYTHING that is happening all the time, things can get really boring really fast. My opinion anyway. 😉

I like a challenge but I don’t like actually partaking in a game throughout the day if I am on task the wrong way. It’s not like you could just trash extra hearts it yiu needed to go the other way… So you would have to get double if chosen wrong or just not play… And I like to play

I know what you mean, I am saying I have no answer as I do NOT know what amounts the next phase drops will ask for until they release them to us. So… until then… I can only go off of what IS in the game. So …it will be more than 100 for Hate and more than 200 for Love if it follows the increase as previous ones did. Stay around there to be safe. It could jump 50 hearts or it could jump 150 hearts… just don’t know. 😉

I don’t know if I can post here about this issue but some of my clams have not been registering. For instance I sent Buzz and Mort for a coffee date, and I got a clam plus purple hearts, and my clam count increased by one. Then I went to collect from Ollieland and I got a clam from it, but when I returned to my town the clam count I had before didn’t increase at all therefore not registering. Is this a new glitch, or what’s going on? Please help. Thank you.

Sounds like your game is not syncing up with your results. Try a force close/restart device and if still nothing… please report it.

I did that once Bunny, and it worked for a day or two, then it started to do the same thing again. It’s really weird 😞

I feel like I’m behind on this event, but I think that’s just because I’ve been reading too many comments from premium players. But I almost have Glenda unlocked and am on part nine of Funny Valentine so I can’t be too far behind. This event has been awesome. Kool Aid Man’s girlfriend is by far the best npc and I love the npcs. So great that she’s voiced. I hope they just make the peter and lois prize able to be gotten by some other couple, cause I have the bathroom and it looks really weird without something else. (Not that an outside bedroom looks normal, haha)

So many buildings!!!!!!!!!, but no land. Where am I supposed to but all this stuff. I’m not putting away buildings that earn coins for buildings that earn valentines or items. I like to have all my items out for show. Why go though all the **** trouble of earning these things if I put them in my **** Quahog? In a certain other tap happy game I have room for everything. In this game I’m playing Tetris with my buildings. Is more land coming with the next district and if so is there going to be a million more friggin buildings in that phase too? Please help!!!!

Cheryl Teigs is by far THE EASIEST charactervi have ever gotten. Less than 30 hrs in! Thanks to Arnold I think 🙂

I agree. I got her in just under 15 hours by using the Nathan-Felicia date in the park to collect the fans. I have Arnold but after clearing the first round of sprayers, I sent him back to collecting hearts as Ida and Glenda were enough to handle the perfume girls.

My game consistently ccrashes at any time at least 10 or more times,can’t make through neighbor visits at all, I’ve tryed everything on your list except brightness. Contacted TinyCo numerous times through in game help, and email, l get the standard non reply form mail, really fed up, please help nowhere to turn

Did you try making MORE space on your device? Running WiFi instead of Data for signal or vice versa to see what one works best for you? Puttin away ANYTHING that is not a needed character right now?

Yes all of those, 4.5gigs free, 35gig (l think)free, reloaded twice, several hard starts, sent crash files to tinyco (many ) all of this happened during Valentine’s event it’s very similar to what happened during Comicon, it’s impossible to visit friends 20 visit 2

Blah. Active events live to drain memory. I deal with it in both games on both sites. Just gotta do what you can and report your experience in hopes it helps them locate major sources/causes of the issues so they can fix them. Oddly for me…this event hasn’t been glitchy. A lil lag when other things run in background, but nothing I can’t deal with.
It’s why I have a HUGE external SD card (60+ GB) and store the games on it. 10000 screen shots for the game kinda take a lil memory out of my device. Lol

Thanks l downloaded a new log event app. Hopefully this one will help, my laptop 1 terabyte 64bit huge ram sucks l can’t use it, thanks much, l think there’s a ghost in my app just scaring everything to close. Thanks for your help

Is there any point in clearing sprayers once you have unlocked Cheryl? They only give 5 valentines every 2 hours, which is the same payout for characters’ 1-hour tasks. Most other 2-hour tasks give 10 valentines. Not to mention Arnold’s 4-hour task that gives 20 valentines and 3 hearts.

i’ve still never seen the new timer for the love couples. i only see the 3min timer when they finally show up. you mentioned it was an app update so i just looked and i’m apparently up to date. i mean its no big deal, i check in the game often enough but yeah was curious to see that thing around.

I have the timer, but it’s really useless when you realize (at least in my game) that couples always appear at 3 – 6 – 9 – 12 – 15 – 18 – 21 – 24 hrs. And if you miss one (e.g. 15 hrs) and check your game at 16, the next arrival won’t be 3 hours later, but 2; because they always appear at the same time, no matter when you cleared them (as long as you check before the next arrival time, in this case 18 hrs). 🙂

I skipped one a few drops, came in and got new batch and cleared them, left game, came back, and they respawned right away. So… got two couples drops back to back a few different times.

It is normal for a game to lag when the memory is being drained. Below are the steps I use to combat it.

That is what I was checking on. When I send Glenda to clear a sprayer she kind-of disappears, and the game freezes up a lot. And now my countdown to more PDA couples reached zero and none dropped. I have asked TC about it three times in the past 20 hours but have heard nothing from them. And no my quahog is not full, this started when the perfume sprayers appeared. I do have the nerds in my town, so I was wondering if that had anything to do with it.

3 times? Don’t flood the message system, it only slows down their response time. Keep in mind there are THOUSANDS of other players messaging in too… multiply that by 3 or more and you have an idea of just how long it could take for them to get through all the emails from just today. Lol

In the meantime, try some of my suggestions on crashing/lagging issues. It may help with the memory drain causing the glitching. You are not the only player impacted with it. It happens during high activity events in ALL the games I play. Not just this one.

Glitchy Glenda, shaky screen, and PDA couples not spawning. So yes three messages, what am I supposed to do when I can’t play my game. Plus, isn’t that something we should do, report issues with the game. I also asked them a question on the 14th about Lois that they still haven’t responded to.

You said you sent a message 3 Times. Not 3 separate issues. So I appreciate the clarification. 🙂
You were correct in doing so. But the response time still stands the same. They are not like us and have thousands of messages daily to get to. There is only game running tech on weekends and yesterday was a US holiday, so they only just started their week this morning. Patience and they will get to you.
As for Lois, is the answer in this post?
We can try and help with the other issues if you’d like while you wait for a response.

Just noticed this (don’t know if it’s be mentioned) when you have a task that is in a building in your inventory you can click on it and it takes you right to the building, so much better then scrolling for 10 minutes lol.

As soon as I collect the heart couples available these disappear for me, and the only chumba wumbas are the ones I got using collected stuff. I have finished the Brewery quest so not sure if thart is the reason. Finaly do you know when the
Brewery stuff to collect will end. Thank you

Its a District. It only ends when YOU complete it. In other words when you collect all the possible Limits of prizes.

LOVE this recap thanks! The new timers countdown on the lovers is SO helpful. And I really appreciate that we can see what prizes are next to go ahead and begin earning the love/hate hearts. This event is going best of any so far I think!

TinyCo has overloaded my game with NPCs making it almost unplayable. I got Chumba Wumbas, Couples, and now Sprayers running around causing my screen to jitter like crazy whenever a group of them appear together. I’m doing my best to give my characters indoor tasks, got rid of all my walking decos, and made a secondary small sidewalk, but that doesn’t help. Even the smaller area jitters when 4+ are visible.
I already finished Stewie getting the 20 Chumba Wumbas, so I don’t get why they are still around. They should be gone.

They are still hanging round in my game too. Not sure if/when they will go away.

I finished all the quest lines for that district, made the 2 chumba wumbas in the brewery, put those in inventory and just kept Stewie clearing them and now I have none. And they haven’t spawned since either

same here, but my game has been running great! i mean just a random crash here and there, but doesn’t bother me.

also what helped me was I turned down the brightness to like 52 and automatic maybe that will help a bit.

I think we are going to have to first MAX out, on All items that are available to make in the Brewery, AND have Chumba Wumba Stewie clear all the chumba’s still roaming, before they go away for good. I’ve been working on this 4eva lol but at least it gives my characters with no tasks something to do.

Oh ****, just read Derek’s reply. What? Lol I made the 2 Chumba Wumba’s and stored them too, maybe I should have cleared the rest. Duh. But still want clear the tasks from characters so don’t get that multiple drop annoying thing later. TY though Derek!

I’m collecting broken heartss – when I think I’ve collected all the broken heart couples, the couples don’t all disappear. Does that mean I’m really missing some?? (side note: when I was collecting hearts, after I found all the love couples, all of the couples would disappear).

Mine go away and I’m collecting hate hearts. I think normally I get around 8 then Peter lets me know I cleared them?

They do off an on. I collect either and the results vary. Lol
