Hello There Clammers!
It’s Valentine’s Day in our Tiny Quahogs and with this event TinyCo is trying something new…either or prize scenarios.
Within the Affection Meter you’ll find the main prizes for this event. These are prizes you can collect after clearing PDA Couples & earning either Broken Hearts or Love Hearts. Bunny did a great job of breaking down the how-to on the Affection Meter, but many of you are still asking “which prize is right for me?” So now let’s breakdown the prize options for the 4th set, Lois, so you can choose which one is right for you…
First, let’s do a quick recap of the Affection Meter. Remember, Bunny broke it all down in detail here but for those of you that are still confused (or just don’t like to read) here’s a quick recap…
-Collect hearts from Couples to determine which prize you want.
– = Love Prizes. = Hate Prizes.
– If you collect a and then a , they’ll cancel each other out. Giving you a net of 0. So try to only collect the hearts for the prizes you’re going for. (For example if you collect 10 and then 5 , you’ll only have a net gain of 5 , even though you collected 10. Make sense?)
-You can only collect one prize for each character. Some of you are still getting confused with this. Once you claim a prize for a character you cannot go back and get the other prize. It’s a 1 shot deal. So choose wisely!
-After you’ve collected enough hearts for a prize and claimed it, your heart counter will reset back to 0. So you’ll have to start collecting for the next prize starting at 0. (so don’t start collecting a ton of hearts now thinking you’ll be able to use them for Hot Meg. Each time you claim a prize (and it will automatically claim it for you once you reach enough hearts) your counter will reset.)
Now let’s get into some prize analysis….
This is the first prize we’ve seen where the Love Prize and the Hate Prize have 2 different amounts required to collect for them. To earn the Hate prize you’ll have to collect 100 Hate Hearts & to earn the Love prize it requires 200 Love Hearts.
Let’s start with the Hate prize.
Big Mouthed Girlfriend Dolls- Net 100 .
What does it do?
Basically nothing. It’s a decoration for your Quahog. Currently it’s not animated, so it’ll just sit in Quahog. Doesn’t mean TinyCo won’t animate it in the future, something they’ve been known to do, it just means that as of right now it’s not animated.
Love Prize:
Kool Aid Man’s Girlfriend- Net 200
What does it do?
This is an NPC for your Quahog. (non-playable character) Basically she’ll walk around like the other characters, except she does not have any tasks. She is voiced (when tapped she’ll say “Yoo-hoo Baby!”) and when tapped she’ll also dance her legs around.
The Verdict/Which Did I Choose?
This round was a simple decision for me, I went Love. Personally I think the NPC of Kool Aid Man’s girlfriend is a much better choice than the dolls. While she has no tasks, she’ll still walk around town like other characters & she’s even voiced! So for me I went KAM’s GF!
Of course that doesn’t mean choosing the Big Mouthed Girlfriend Dolls was a bad call. It’s your decision which path you want to take, we can only suggest based on what we would do…and in this situation I choose the Kool Aid Man’s Girlfriend since I felt she’d work best for me in my game.
So what’s next?
Well, at this point only 4 rounds of prizes have been released. So you cannot progress any further than those four rounds. (you can find details about the first two prizes here and the third prize here)
So if you see locks past Joe, don’t freak out. It does not mean your game is broken. EVERYONE is seeing those same locks. They won’t be removed until TinyCo introduces more character prizes. However, you can see what the next two prizes are so you’ll know what to choose from & if you should be building love/hate up. Remember…the prizes aren’t unlocked yet, so you won’t see the meter moving and we don’t know how much each prize will cost until they’re released.
What Should I Do While Waiting?
It’s really up to you if you want to continue to collect Hearts in-between the rounds.
Here’s my suggestion….think about what prize track you think you’ll want to continue on for the next prize and collect hearts for that track.
Why isn’t my meter moving in either direction?
If you’ve collected both prizes and are collecting hearts in anticipation of the 5th prize your meter will not move until that prize is released. Why? Because there’s no goal there yet. So the meter has no idea how many hearts the end goal is so it can’t rise or fall based on it. Instead it’ll just stay stagnant in the middle until the next prize is released.
Are you sure I can’t go back and collect the other prize after I’ve already collected them?
Yes, I’m sure. You can only choose 1 prize per character. Once you choose and you’ve claimed that prize you cannot go back and get the other prize. So if you chose Clammy Secrets for Quagmire you cannot go back and get the archery set.

Why is it that my broken hearts were over 260 and they keep reseting to 124? Can someone help here, the lock is still on and I would like to get the asylum.

You haven’t update to the new phase. It’s preventing a glitch. Clear the questlines from phase 2 and you’ll be able to get to phase 3 and the new prizes. https://familyguyaddicts.com/2015/02/19/valentines-day-phase-3-is-here/

I’m having the same problem! I’ve tried turning my phone on and off. Everything I can think of but it keeps resetting to 124… Very frustrating as I’d like to start working on Meg soon!

It means you have NOT completed the Phase 2 questline and/or started the Phase 3 quests that unlock it.

i am on the asylum vs cupid statue thingie. anyway, I have over 210 broken hearts already and my meter has not moved a mm. WTH !!! how many bloody broken hearts do we need for the asylum. AAAHHH !!!! at this rate hot meg will be 1000 red hearts. we have 7 days left to play. what does Tiny Co think……a big chunk of us work all day…we cant be tappin hot pda couples all day…;-) we do have jobs to keep. come on tiny co, this amount of hearts needed for the prizes is getting insane on the last 2 prizes.

Get rid of all but a couple of your roads. This is what the PDA couples show up on. Now that you can find them only tap the ones you need to get the prize you want. Rember if you tap a purple heart couple and a red heart couple, you made no progress as they cancel each other out. Only tap the ones that get you the colored hearts you want. After you cleared all the couples that give the same colored hearts the rest will vanish. This is the last one with a targeted number of hearts as the rest are still locked. Good luck and get rid of most of your roads. Its a HUGE help.

I just checked out the Facebook page for FG, and they are getting just as many requests to swap out the Asylum for Needlez shack, but they are not budging.
This makes me think for sure that something is afoot. Especially when they respond by saying wait and see (you’ve taught them well, Bunny LOL)

I am wondering if it might be a building skin similar to the other valentine skins. It might drop the items needed for cupid. The asylum was a rather cheap halloween building (750 spirit vials). So most people who have played since then probably have it somewhere. Who knows?

This was exactly what I thought from the beginning. It could also be an introduction to Lois’ brother (one can always hope). I don’t want the Cupid Statue.
I’d rather have another coin generating building, to be honest. Besides, all of the other buildings have helped, one way or the other in this event. Maybe with Two asylums we will be able to collect that much more valentines, items, etc.

Maybe they just think the asylum a good prize and want to make prize six an actual hard choice. My phone was crap during the Halloween event so my game couldn’t work so I’ll be glad to get the asylum. Though I do wonder if the cupid statue is actually going to be a building like golden adventure peter or something.

Better to have two buildings that may in the future drop items needed for unlocking characters/skins than a useless statue.

Purple hearts are for the asylum; are you saying you’re saving for another asylum? Or do you mean you are going to save purple hearts later, for Needlez? Sorry I’m confused with what you meant

You can’t save for the next item (essentially skipping). Once you fill your meter it resets to zero. So far we have seen no rollover of hearts, broken or otherwise.

How is everyone collecting so many hearts in such a small amount of time..? I’m diligently collecting and am not yet gotten koolaid mans girlfriend yet, let alone more hearts after that towards the next prize. Any amount of advice would help!

I’m not sure if it’s global, but in my game PDA couples spawn at specific times: 1:03am, 4:03am, 7:03am, 10:03am and then the same hours for pm. I always try to login about 10 minutes before each time and there should be a “bank” of 8 of each couple that will spaw, clear them out before the hour and then a couple minutes after the above hours, a new batch spawns allowing me to double my collection of hearts in between prizes. If you are able to gethe all 8 spawns, that is a maximum of 64 hearts each day, I usually average 30-40 since I have a job and like to sleep. You can also gain additional hearts from dating, but it’s doable without 😉 Hopefully this helps for the last week! Have a great evening 😊

Phase 5 is a bust for me since I already have the Asylum and the other deco prize I don’t care about. All I’m doing to collecting Hearts for Hot Meg. I want the Voodoo Shop too, but I feel costumes are better than buildings.
It blows that Phase 5 has two prizes I don’t care about and 6 has two great prizes I do.

Yep, I hear ya. Same here. Although I’m hoping that the cupid statue will have some sort of magical powers lol or at least turns out to be something more than what is depicted in the thumbnail.
I was pleasantly surprised with K-AM’s GF. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought OMG, tell me we are not simply going to get a stagnant head to plop. With Cupid, even though it says ‘statue,’ it could turn out to be something cool. Ya never know…. Or maybe just wishful thinking. Lol

I’m so terrified the only way to get the required amount of hearts for Hot Meg will be attainable only if you have that dumba$$ 200 clam walking garden since it puts out extra hearts. We only have a week’ish left to get two prizes that’ll be AT LEAST 200 hearts each but more likely double that based on the prizes doubling in heart cost.

Don’t forget that we have perfume sprayers this go round and many of us have collected valentines. I bet you there will be a valentines box that allows us to spend those racked up cards in exchange for exclusive prizes 😄

So I now have 550 hearts and counting. They should go ahead and release the 5th prize so we can get started on the Hot Meg skin. Either that or give us credit for the excess hearts we’ve collected instead of zapping them like they did when they released the 3rd prize. It just seems kind of pointless to be collecting hearts with the expectation that a big part of them will go in the trash when they finally release the prizes. Oh well. Just one more day to wait.

It is due to they changed the Challenge of it. Otherwise I think people wouldn’t be so ahead. Next one is set for tomorrow, so it’s not that far away.

I know Bunny. I’m just an impatient addict jonesing for my next big score. I’m sure I will have no problem collecting the required amount of hearts in the allotted time limit without having to tap into my clam resources again. Unless of course they offer a new celebrity character and then I will probably buy it just to have it … because I’m an addict.

You won’t have a few extra hearts, though. As soon as you get that prize, the counter automatically zeroes out, even if you had 1000 hearts and the statue was 500, your counter will reset to zero.

dixie2u, Are you sure about this? I thought the only reason that happened with Joe was because of the glitch and for the other gifts you couldn’t collect more than required hearts before getting a gift. So that could mean that they fixed the glitch in the meantime and that you could collect so much now that by the time the next prizes come out, you might be able to have already won them.

But the faster you unlock the cupid statue, the faster you start earning hearts for meg.
You dont get to keep the leftovers from the statue but you get a head start on meg.
have almost 300 hearts, will have that many by the time the next level is unlocked.

Yup. Win, lose or draw; you are ahead of you’ve collected for the next one. But I think a lot of people are going to be shocked, again by this release. I’m hedging the same bet as last time. Grabbing all the Purple Hearts because I am sure the Asylum will be a crucial element.

I hope tiny co makes a kool aid man have a task with his girlfriend kind of like the one he has with the skatepark decoration because I’d love to see a task of kool aid man with his girlfriend.

Hello, I’ve had a look at comments but can’t find anyone with the same problem – I’ve collected Joe’s ‘love’ prize and am at 74 love hearts for Lois but everytime I collected another (taking me to 75+) I get a Consuela pop up saying that it’s trying to give me prizes in the wrong order – behind it is a pop up trying to give me Joe’s ‘hate’ prize. Obviously the game then crashes. I’ve sent an ingame message to TinyCo but it’s been 4 days and I haven’t got a reply – it’s making me fall behind in the event! Have you seen/heard of this problem with anyone else?

I know that the game was supposed to have a patch to fix those players with Too many hearts when the new items hit. What troubleshooting have you tried?

Oh no i really hope i have time…i was so far ahead at first i slowed up on collecting hearts because i was getting so many so quickly n didnt know what the next prize was…wish i wouldnt have now cause its taking forever especially since i keep canceling the love hearts out with hate hearts from sending connie n meg on dates to get pepper spray cause im still trying to get glenda…i have a feling i messed up completely n that i wont have time to get cheryl or hot meg or whoever the last character is

Yeah, TC almost always helps to clear the final week during an event. There is still the movie theater that is locked. Maybe it will be a similar to the coffee shop and garden stroll, so it let’s the heart collection speed up.

I went for Kool Aid Man’s GF even before I knew she was a voiced character.
I figured there was more potential of her doing *something* than a box of blowup dolls.

It’s too bad they did the Voodoo Shop against Hot Meg…I really want Hot Meg, but a Voodoo shop? That’s freakin cool, too! The Insane Asylum against the statue was going to be a no-brainer, because I already have the asylum. But I wish they did the asylum against the Voodoo shop, bc I don’t care for the statue. Then I could get the Voodoo shop AND Hot Meg. Oh well.

Personally, went for the KAM GF (Z-snap, y’all) I got Kool-Aid Man in the Summer promo and even though I had amassed 140 red hearts (which Tinyco, thankfully knocked down to 74) I was able to backtrack, get the Liquor Store, move forward and get the GF. It was a lot of hard work BUT at the same time it showed me that getting 400 hearts in less than a week is entirely doable. So, come what may, I know I’ll be able earn for Cupid and Meg when next phase hits.

I’ve been ok with all of this until 30 hate hearts in I realized the Brookfield Insane Asylum is from a past event! And I already have it! Arughhhh, back to collecting love hearts…

Thanks for clarifying that. It is not like the crafting machines in that you must go character by character. It is more like Santa’s wish list where we had to obtain 2 character gifts and it didn’t progress until the next phase hit.
Unlike the Wish List, however, we have two prizes to choose from; Sad/happy, but overall it
is basically the same concept. I think it’s so we all arrive at the end around the same time … No one really loses. LOL Like kids soccer, everyone get a trophy for trying 👅

destroy all the streets in the game, but put a small 3×6 street area so that all the pda’s are all together when they show up every 3 hours. They are much easier to figure out that way.

I recommend removing most of the roads in your town. I currently have 6 (set up in a 2 by 3 format) which works for me (any less and it gets too crowded; any more and it becomes a race against the clock to get them all. I am currently at 230+ hate and I am currently trying to drop my count because I don’t want to be burned like when Joe’s prize was released). This way you have a concentrated place to do your PDA hunting. Also use the coffee shop. I currently use Carter and his wife for 5 love hearts (though I just sent Chris and Connie for the same since Carter has started a questline). For hate I have been sending Meg and Connie for 5 hate hearts.

I opted for the Dolls in the box. It was the quicker route to take meaning I could save for hearts faster for when it next unlocks. I already have the building that’s up as a prize next anyhow.
Also, if I’m honest I think KMG is hideous.
