Hey there Tribblemakers!
Warp Core Level 3 has added a fun lil element into our games to add to the mix of things to earn Materials. It also has a bit of a Challenge aspect to it. So you wanna know just how to get the best results in the Phaser Battles? Well, take a peek at the information below.
Phaser Battles, what are they? What do you get from them? What is the benefits? Let’s break it down.
First off, you need to unlock the option to be able to participate in the Phaser Battles. This is unlocked once you hit Warp Core 3 and while playing, trigger the questline “A Ship Without Picard Part 1”. It isn’t too far in. It is basically unlocking the Bridge. The cool part is completing this gives you 5 Phaser Energy to give you a head start.
Once you hit that point, you will be directed to learn about the Phaser Battles. Send one of the Characters on her task to earn Phaser Energy. Build a Room that has a Chance drop of Phaser Energy. Then participate in a Phaser Battle by blowing up 1 PeterCraft.
HOW DO I SHOOT THE TARGETS?
The basic idea and Challenge of the Phaser Battle is to get the PeterCraft. You can also go for Asteroids, but PeterCraft seems to give you better drops. All you need to do is wait for at least the PeterCraft to light up the target Red. Red Target is a good target, it is what you are aiming for. If you don’t want to wait, tap your finger on the target and drag it to where you can take a shot.
Once it is lit up Red, then tap on the Green “FIRE PHASERS” Icon in the lower right corner of your game screen.
If the target area is still Blue… wait. Blue means you will NOT get anything when you fire. Use your finger to drag target to a better hit point on the screen or wait.
So again… a GOOD SHOT IS RED (more in that target area the better)
And a BAD SHOT IS BLUE… wait or use your finger to drag and move the target to a better location or wait til items come into more the center of the target.
You will know if you hit anything with your shot and exactly how many you hit by looking in the center of the bottom of your Phaser Battle screen.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW MANY SHOTS I CAN TAKE?
You can keep track of how many times you can take a shot by taking a peek in the lower left corner of the Phaser Battle Screen. You Phaser Energy Count will be listed there. ![]()
WHAT KIND OF PAYOUT DO YOU GET?
UPDATE 4/10: You will now get One Felicium or One Laser Pointer ALWAYS with each Regular PeterCraft destroyed.
Pretty much the majority of my payout has come from hits that included PeterCraft and/or PeterCraft and at least one extra Asteroid too. Here are the items you can get.
Dilithium (Varies between +1 to +10)
Starfleet XP (Varies between +1 to +2)
+1 Laser Pointer
Your totals of all you collect before exiting will be listed across the top of the screen for you. When you exit, you will see it add to your totals.
Here are some of MY results, YOURS may vary…
Fast Moving Lil Asteroid
+1 XP/ +5 Dilithium
+1 XP/ +1 Synthesizer Ore
Big Round Asteroid
+1 Dilithium
Big Chunky Asteroid
+2 Dilithium
Med Chunky Asteroid
+2 Dilithium
PeterCraft
+2 XP/ +1 Felcium
+10 Dilithium/ +2XP
+10 Dilithium/ +2XP/ +1 Felicium
Combos
PeterCraft & Fast Moving Lil Asteroid
+1 Laser Pointer/ +4XP/ +5 Dilithium
+ 1 Felicium/ +3XP/ +1 Synthesizer Ore
PeterCraft & Big Round Asteroid
+2XP/ +10 Dilithium/ +1 Felicium
+2XP/+5 Dilithium/ +1Laser Pointer
Petercraft & Medium Chunky Asteroid
+20 Dilithium/ +2XP/ +1 Laser Pointer
Overall, the combos paid out well no matter the Asteroid I had with PeterCraft though the fast moving one seemed to help more. A lot of different drops on the Dilithium too. +1/ +2/ +4/ +5/ +10. So it will vary all over the place. Most Asteroid Combos paid out just Dilithium, unless a Lil Fast Moving Asteroid was in the mix, then it paid XP too.
WHAT ABOUT SHOOTING MEG?
Now I know many of you paying attention caught the lil jab in the dialog from the Event Menu Screen telling you about shooting Meg. I am here to tell you Meg NEVER appeared in the Phaser Battles. I think this is more just a play on words and yet another jab at the cruelty towards Meg Family Guy has been known for. Lol.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I RUN OUT OF PHASER ENERGY?
Well the button in the Phaser Battles will change if you run out of Phaser Energy to a “BUY ENERGY” Option.
So if you want to spend some of your precious Clams to continue the Battles, you can tap on the Buy Energy option and see that you have 3 options of buying Phaser Energy.
HOW ELSE CAN I GET MORE PHASER ENERGY?
There are a few different ways you can get more Phaser Energy for the Phaser Battles…
Character Tasks
Guinan: Fire Her Gun, CHANCE every 6hrs
Troi: Work as a Translator, CHANCE every 6 hrs
Klingon Chris: Pick Nose Asteroids, CHANCE every 6hrs
Geordi: Regain Focus, CHANCE every 6hrs
Starfleet Lois: Currently a task for her to drop Phaser Energy is not available, but will update when one does become available. Spy on Ryker, CHANCE every 6hrs
Building Payouts
Starfleet Academy: ALWAYS Pays Out 1 every 6hrs, 100 Clams
Enterprise Rooms
Observation Deck: ALWAYS Pays out 1 every 6hrs, 100 Clams to build
Weapons Locker: CHANCE Pay out every 4hrs, 500 Dilithium Crystals to build (you can make 2)
Transporter Away Missions
Nom-Nomulous: CHANCE 3 Phaser Energy 4hrs
Questlines
A Ship Without Picard Part 1: 5 Phaser Energy
Chance Clam Purchase
Hisanus Mystery Box: CHANCE Pay out 12, 100 Clams a try
There you have it. The Basics of how to use the Phaser Battle feature in the game. To recap, put your targets in the RED. The more hit the better payout WITH the PeterCraft included. Many options of earning them outside just Clams. The options will be up to you to use.

Anyone else have issues with the initial quest never kicking off? I have access to phasers and been using them but never got the quest. Also to get duct tape to get Picard it looks like I can clear Borg? But I have yet to see any Borg? Any thoughts and/or help is appreciated.

Where are you in the main questlines? Did you finish An Officer and an Idiot? Frame of Mind? If not, you’ll be behind on items as the questline triggers them.

Thanks for the response. Currently at frame of mind 7. Finished officer and an idiot. I will hopefully see it soon.

I was really dumb and spent clams this morning on several of the 12 packs of phaser energy to get drops to unlock Starfleet Lois and Locutus because I was tired of waiting. I realized afterward it would’ve been cheaper to just spend clams to unlock the characters instead. Epic fail.

I was just wondering round my quahog rounding up money and checking of checkmarks and everything was looking oke like usual
when all of a sudden it happened
A weird black stick appeared when i checked quagmire
,could this be a laserpointer?
i cried a little because i have had quagmire working round the clock for 5 days without result, and i’m a little confused now

Based on my experience, this part of the game is totally based on LUCK. The drops for the ships are already determined when they appear on the screen. Regardless of how many items you hit, the items have already been decided. The luck part comes in when you shoot the peter ship. Pray hard that you are shooting at a ship with an item drop. I am not sure how TC computes/programs the probability of a ship having an item. Unless part of the program is making sure that all following ships have drops after a certain amount of “miss”, this part would be h**l for a lot of players. Considering you need Picard to reach the next phase, I am definite a lot of people would not make it on time this week. That is unless they considerably bring down the amount requirements.

I know that everyone’s results will vary, but if anyone is having trouble with laser pointers they should try the small asteroid & petercraft combo, it has dropped so many for me. Before rereading this post yesterday I never thought to pay attention to which asteroid I was hitting. It might that five minutes to take three shots but I am never taking another shot that doesn’t include the petercraft and the small asteroid, but if I get laser pointers 2\3 or even 1\3 it’s worth it.

One or two out of three shots that is.

Obtaining felicium and laser pointers is a freakin’ ordeal 😦 .
I have tried so so many times, I do not count anymore. I had to resort to switching off my phone so that it will not save, and start again and again and again.
Is Tiny Co having a laugh?

Sorry your luck is not that great. Try to get the fast moving lil one and PeterCraft when possible.

Thanks Bunny. Finally unlocked him. I have to say, this Peter Craft stuff has been really trying. Sucked the fun out of the game.
I know that frustration is a recurrent theme in the series, and part of the irony of the game.
But the number of times I had to switch off my phone and retry (which is unethical, I will admit) is so high that I actually see asteroids when I close my eyes 😉
I hope Tiny Co will not push it any further and make each new level harder.
This game rocks BECAUSE it is fun. It should stay this way 🙂 .

Thanks for the tip re shooting both the petercraft and fast-moving one! Getting felicium has been such a grind so far but I just got 5 from 5 phaser shots 🙂

Well, my results are different. Just fired on a big asteroid and PeterCraft at the same time, managed to hit 3 objects. After that again, and again. So 9 objects destroyed in combo, and I only got 1 laser pointer. Spent already 200 clams on room and SF academy to get phasers. IM Disappointed.

Try to get the fast moving one in there and make sure all the objects you are shooting are actually in range and hit by checking results on bottom.

Bunny, I love all this info. I’ve been going through all the Star Trek posts for the past hour, your efforts are so impressive. Thanks for the help! One thing I haven’t found yet is how to trigger the quest line “a ship without Picard.” Could you link to it or let me know what to do? I’ve unlocked the bridge, I’m current on the warp corp, and the only character I haven’t unlocked yet is Borg Picard (of those unlocked). Thanks for any help!

You are basically transitioning from Phase 2 to Phase 3. So see where you are in the main questline for Phase 2 so you can complete it and start into Phase 3. Frame of Mind Part 8 should be last of it.

Right there with you. I don’t get squat for the phasers. Not to mention only getting 3-4 tries a day with a bunch of characters on task, two rooms and the Academy. Quagmire hasn’t dropped a pointer in 2 days either. Seriously, what’s going on with this mess?

I just got the last 12 I needed for Locutus. To start though… I got WAY more Laser Pointers than Felicium

Having a tough time getting laser pointers and felicium. They are literally the last things I need for Locutus and SF Lois. I still need 16 felicium, and 14 lasers. Ive gotten the a few times with phasers, but mostly from characters. I have 2 of Rikers rooms which spit out about every other time, and I bought the Starfleet Academy with clams (ibyhinkba premium building should have a shorter timer) just not really getting any drops. I got 12 phaser energy from the mystery box, and got 1 of each in twelve shots. The only way I’ve found to get an extra item is by hitting 3 things at once, one of which being a Peter craft. The chance for that to happen is really rare though.

My luck on this has been simply abysmal. I’ve shot fifteen Petercrafts today alone and have not gotten a single laser pointer. I average at least one asteroid along with it every time as well. I still need over half the pointers even though I completed the other three requirements for Locutus days ago. I’ve purchased the observation deck and Guinen to help but this is just ridiculous. Extremely disappointed in this game for the past two weeks. Occasionally this game crosses that fine line between being fun and makin you want to throw your device at the nearest wall. Rant over.

Well I got seven this morning which I just fired off at Petercrafts and got nothing. Then saw this post and got another seven (ironically enough I’m getting “lucky” with the orange energy drops) and tried matching those with asteroids still nothing 😦 I’m going to try exiting my game between shots. Sometimes stupid stuff like that works
LikeLike
Its easier said than done! Just because we know what needs to be hit doesn’t mean we can do it consistently. I’ve found if asteroid is in front of petercraft the ship behind doesn’t blow up just the front asteroid does. In practice I only get material drops on less than 50% of my shots. At 10 shot attempts per day as freemium player, phaser battle is a long boring grind to get items. Trek event has gotten so boring that I started brewery district.
Maybe just me but lately drop rates seem lower than they were before. Common now is what uncommon was, uncommon is now what rare was, rare is now extra rare. Its like they lowered all drop rates internally from the levels we’re used to instead of just lowering the levels they give us outwardly in the item info popup screens.
On a positive note looks like peter has 1hr task dropping 12 starfleet xp for those having trouble leveling up.

Hi Trekkies!
This walkthrough is really extraordinary and helpful. I’m now in the progress of collecting Felicium and Lasers.
In order to shoot Petercraft, does one need to shoot the head of the craft to count as one or one can just shoot any parts of it if it is in the direct red target area?

As long as you get the Target to light up red, you are good. I have shot all over it.

Guys I’m really confused about this event. I never had any problems with past events but with this one it feels like tinyco dropped the ball or seriously failing to learn from past mistakes. It’s great they’ve sorted the whole transporter energy thing but I’ve now been stuck catching up on last week’s tasks all of this week when I really would’ve liked my characters to work towards getting more phaser energy or using transporter energy to help get items for Louis or Borg (instead I’m having to send them to planets which no longer give out any rewards).
I understand this event needs to see us through another 24 days but shouldn’t we be able to complete all of this week’s tasks by the time the new update is released? There’s NO WAY I’m going to unlock either Louis or Borg ahead of Thursday. I barely get 4 phaser energy per day and rarely manage to get either Felicium or Laser Points (I mean seriously how do you make these item rare when we need to get over 30 of each with only 1 character and one action to help us through it). Also in the 4/5 days since the new update was released I received only 3 duct tapes.
This has been said time and time again but they should really either increase drop rate for items, shorten task times and/or allow more characters to help. It’s not a lack of patience it’s just that it’s boring. I’d like to think you’re able to complete events without buying clamps otherwise what’s the point?

Hang in there. There HAS been many changes and I am sure many more to come that will help players. Drops rates HAVE been increased and I am seeing the change spread throughout the community due to it. Phaser Battles, regardless of their drop rates, are jumping the Felicium and Laser Pointer counts extremely fast. Just try some tips I posted right here. Like you said, still a LOT of time left to go in this event. Don’t focus on what is in the future, focus on what YOU can do right now and you will get there. 😉

Not sure if it’s just in my game or expected behavior, if you fire when an asteroid is in FRONT of the Petercraft it will only destroy the asteroid.
LikeLike
Was the PeterCraft within the Target? I know many times it appeared only the Asteroid was hit, but it still said at the bottom two items were destroyed. You just need to make sure that the PeterCraft is fully in the target. Not around edges like in the pics where the edges do not count.
LikeLike
Yes Petercraft was definitely fully within target and after hit it said one object destroyed.

drop rates are way too low. I spent 10 energy hitting 2objects each time and all I got was 4 Felicium and 2 laser pointers
LikeLike
6 Material items in 10 shots? That isn’t low. That is better odds than the Character task drops.
LikeLiked by 3 people
She is right about that.
My results are more like 30 shots and 5 item out of it. Three times felicium and 2 laserpointer.
And i´m not able to send chris on the felicium tasks because of the ongoing questlines. The chars are heavily involved in the questlines and seldom on item farming.
But how further the event goes, more rare the drops are and barely helping. 2 freemium rooms, 6 hour for rare drop?
Freemium (by quest) and premium chars also 6 hours by chance?
A lot of quests ongoing where are they needed to..
Thats going to be a tough one.
The players are used to get the new content done till the next week, or they will be loosing some of the content.
Maybe we got more time for overall, maybe this time is also packed with content?
Ppl are behaving like they’re used to from former events.

Is there any advantage to saving up the energy to shoot multiple times (better payouts) or if you have one chance go ahead and take it…I never have more than 2-3 phaser energies at a time before I use them up. Wondering if it makes a difference in the payouts if I waited until I had much more. Thanks!

Nope. It is all in the shots. Whether you take 12 or 2, it is all in WHAT you get in that shot that makes a difference.

Hey there
I’m finding the phaser battles a little slow going with the payouts (for Delicium and laser pointers anyway) but a fun little mini game though, getting pretty good at hitting the Petercraft but I’m a bit too slow to be able to hit multiple items (unless by happy accident lol)
All in all another great addition to a so far so great event (and don’t tell the trekkies but I’m not even a big trek fan!)
Keep the great post coming!

One minor thing that I’ve noticed about the phaser battles that might help some players is that the phaser fires when you lift your finger off the fire button not when you first press it down. If you don’t lift your finger up right away you may miss what you’re aiming at.

I thought the whole “shooting at Meg” comment in the event menu meant that this was the way to earn Klingon Meg, who I noticed this morning in the FaceSpace. I can’t see her anywhere else, as part of a future “district”, or in the replicator, so I assumed she’d be part of the phaser battle. Any ideas where/how she might appear?
