Star Trek How To: Borg Bertram Battles

Hey there Tribblemakers!

Warp Core 5 hit our games and we now have a Boss Battle. Looks like Bertam has been taken over by the Borg Collective and now we have to battle him with our Characters to help out to get Dilithium Crystals and Dark Matter.Clawed Borg Bertram

You are probably scratching your head trying to make sense of it all. How do you beat him? How does it all work? What are the payouts? Well let’s break it down.

WHERE DO I FIND BORG BERTRAM?Holodeck Locked

If you have completed Upgrading to Warp Core 5 and unlocked the now larger version of the Holodeck, you will start to go through the tutorial part of the questline introducing you to Borg Bertram and the basics of his Battles. He will hang out the rest of the time in the Holodeck.System Failure Part 2

Borg Bertram Holodeck

WHO CAN I USE TO BATTLE HIM? Attack Bertram Character List

Once you have completed collection of Materials, you will have a total of 4 FREEMIUM Characters to use in the Battles. (1 Premium if you bought Guinan for a total of 5). Until then, you will only have the first two. They are as follows…

Tap ENGAGE after tapping on Bertram to launch the list of available attackers.  It will take you to the Characters task list to start the Attack. Or you can go to their task menus directly by tapping on the Character and initiate it from there.

Stun Bertram Task

GeordiGeordi – 1 to 2 Damage.

Klingon ChrisKlingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage.

PicardPicard- 2-3

Talosian StewieTalosian Stewie- 2-3

GuinanGuinan- 1 2 to 3 Damage.

As you can see, just the FREEMIUM Characters will help out immensely. Better odds even than the Premium Character. So it will be helpful to have her, but the others are a great help as well. Focus on getting Talosian Stewie or Picard unlocked to help out all you can.

WHAT KIND OF PAYOUT WILL WE GET?

Outside of the basic 15 Dilithium Crystals & 3 Starfleet XP you get from each Character, you will also get a higher amount of both after you completely defeat the Heart Level to Zero on Bertram along with some Dark Matter. The Payouts on the current 3 Borg Bertrams are as follows…

Borg Bertram ClawedClawed Borg Bertram Drill MasterDrill Master Borg Bertram 1 LaserLaser Borg Bertram 1
Heart Level Clawed Borg Bertram 5 Heart Meter Heart Meter 10 Drill Master Borg Bertram Heart Meter 18 Laser Borg Bertram
Dilithium Crystals Dilithium Crystals  50 100  250
Starfleet XPStar Trek XP  25 50  125
Dark MatterDark Matter 2 5 10

The Dilithium and Starfleet icons tend to hide within the Dark Matter, so no worries if you don’t catch it right away, you can always watch your count go up on the Crystals and the XP bar to flash to know they are adding. Borg Bertram Defeated XP & Dilithium Icons

HOW DO I DEFEAT BERTRAM?

Borg Bertram Heart Meter

In order to be able to get all these cool extra Payouts, your mission is to COMPLETELY drain the Heart Meter on Bertram to Zero within the 24hrs you are being timed on. So you will have to watch your game and as soon as one Battle is done, start another immediately to make full use of all the time you have. Here are some ideas of strategies.

Tap only ONE Character at a time (See tips at end of post), if that Character does not complete the Damage needed, send them again right away on the Battle task

Clawed Borg Bertram 5 Heart MeterClawed Borg Bertram: 5 Hearts

With 2 Characters (Geordi & Chris), you will need to send them to Battle Bertram at LEAST 2 times each. Depending on the Damage they apply, you may need to go one more time.

Example:

  1. Geordi- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him twice will give you at least 2 Damage
  2. Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him twice will give you at least 2 Damage
  3. This Boss requires 5 Damage, so if one or the other hits with a 2 Damage instead you will be done. If not, you will need to send at least one of them another time.

With 3 Characters this will be easy.

Heart Meter 10 Drill Master Borg BertramDrill Master Borg Bertram: 10 Hearts

With 2 Characters (Geordi & Chris), you will need to send them to Battle Bertram at LEAST 4 times each. Depending on the Damage they apply, you may need to go one more time.

Example:

  1. Geordi- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him 4 times will give you 4 Damage at the Lowest
  2. Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him 4 times will give you 4 Damge
  3. This Boss requires 10 Damage. If one or the other hits with a 2 Damage twice, you will be done. If not you will want to send them both for a 5th time just in case.

With 3 Characters, how many times you send them will depend on the extra Character and the Damages inflicted. It can be done with two, but 3 will make less time have to be spent on the Battle.

Heart Meter 18 Laser Borg BertramLaser Borg Bertram: 18 Hearts

With 2 Characters (Geordi & Chris), this one will be difficult. You will need to utilize the tip below and hope that each hit gives you the highest possible damage on Bertram before the time runs out. Making sure you are there the moment they are done to reset. Focus on getting another Character unlocked to help (Picard and/or Talosian Stewie) if you do not have Guinan.

Example:

  1. Geordi – 1 to 2 Damage, sending him on 5 Battles will give you 5 Damage at the lowest, 10 at the highest
  2. Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him on 5 battles will give you 5 Damage at the lowest, 10 at the highest
  3. Get a head start on this one using the tip below. That will give you a possible 5-6 more attack chances per Character to get him.

With 3 Characters (Geordi, Chris, Picard/Stewie), you should be able to complete this one.

Example:

  1. Geordi – 1 to 2 Damage, sending him on 5 Battles will give you 5 Damage at the lowest
  2. Klingon Chris- 1 to 2 Damage, sending him on 5 battles will give you 5 Damage at the lowest
  3. Picard or Stewie- 2-3 Damage, sending just one of them on 5 battles will give you 10 Damage at the lowest

So even at the WORST possible payouts, a total of 20 Damage can be made. This Boss only needs 18.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I DEFEAT HIM?

Borg Bertram Cool Down

If you are successful in Battling Bertram and completely Damaging the Heart Meter to Zero, you will get the Borg Bertram Payout listed above and he will then go into Cool Down for 4hrs. When he awakens, it will be the next Level up. The timer will then restart at 24hrs again. (You can’t send anyone to Battle while he is in Cool Down.)

So if you are on the Claw Level and are successful, he will awaken at the Drill Master Level and so on.

Once you reach the CURRENT highest Level (Laser) and defeat him, he will reawaken at that same Level again. So keep going and going to keep him there as you will get the best possible payout and earn the Materials you need really fast.

SO HOW LONG IS THE COOL DOWN? Borg Bertram Cool Down Timer

4hrs. He will go into Cool Down if you Defeat his Heart Meter to Zero as well as when the 24 timer runs down. You can see how much time is left on his cool down by tapping on him. The countdown timer will be in the lower right corner of the Pop Up. You CAN’T send anyone to Battle while he is in Cool Down.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T DEFEAT HIM?

If you can’t get the Heart Meter to Zero within the 24hrs, Borg Bertram will go into his Cool Down period for 4 hrs and awakens back at the first Boss Level (Claw). You will NOT get any Payout for losing other than the task payout on the Characters. The timer will then restart at 24hrs to start Battling the Claw Borg Bertram.

HELPFUL TIPS!!

  • This first tip is completely YOUR choice. You do not have to do this unless you feel it may help YOU. Try at your own risk… In past Events with the Boss Battle, players held OFF Upgrading to the next Level. This kept them with just the 3 lower Boss Battles and made it easier to continue battling what is basically right now the 3rd Boss (Laser Bertram). So if you would like to give this a try, feel free to.Current Warp Core 5
  • This next tip is one we focused on before. It is essentially getting AHEAD of the Battles. Always send every Character you possibly can to Battle Bertram. When you are ready to tap the checkmark to complete the Battle, only tap ONE at a time. For instance, only tap Geordi. If he did not help to defeat Bertram and there are still hearts left, send him again on attack right away. Same with other Characters. This will leave them timing down while Bertram is in the cool down period and essentially saving YOU 4 hrs of play time to Battle him. Then wait… once he is back up and his Heart Timer is back in view counting down, THEN tap on their checkmarks. This will make it so you start the Battle right away instead of 4 hrs later. You CAN’T send anyone to Battle him once he goes into Cool Down, so make sure you send them all BEFORE. Borg Bertram Cool Down Battle
  • Finally, watch the Heart Meter. As it gets down to just a few left, clear ONLY the Character that will most likely finish him off. In other words, if he only has 1 Heart left on the meter, don’t use Picard that does 2-3 damage to finish him off. It will be a waste of the hits Picard can make. Use instead Geordi or Chris as they are a 1-2 damage. This will leave the higher Heart Damage Character to continue waiting until Bertram Cools Down and resets. If he only has 2 to 3 left, than use Picard to see if that clears it, if not resend Picard, then tap on another Character to complete it. Borg Bertram Heart Meter 1

There you have it. The basics on how to defeat Borg Bertram, the payouts, and some helpful hints to keep your progressing through the Battles. What do you think of it all? Was this helpful? Got any other tips you would like to share with the other players? Let us know.

  1. How do you win borg Bertram? Do you get the deco version of him after a certain quest? A few more times beating him at level five and I’ll have created everything from the event, thanks to the extension anyways. Then I’ll finish all the quests I’ve been avoiding.

  2. Can I go back to clawed Bertram after defeating cannon Bertram or do i have to repeat cannon again?

  3. Has anyone else had issue with Borg’s timer resetting early? I had four heart left to kill on the final Bertram level with 10 minutes on his clock. Went to speed my tasks to knock him out & he reset! There goes a bunch of Dark Matter & Crystals for me! I’ve already contacted TinyCo about this. Wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this.

    • Remember… he goes into cool down regardless. If you beat him… he goes down. If you don’t… he goes down. It is when he returns you will see you either restarted or progressed depending on the loss/win.

      • But I never actually got to speed up the actions by the time he went down so I never knocked him out & I didn’t get any of the rewards given when knocking him out… His timer was around 9 & a half minutes remaining.

        • So did you actually attack him? Tap on the check marks and complete the tasks?

          Like

          • My characters were almost done with their tasks (about an hour remaining) with 10 minutes left on Bertram’s counter. I was getting ready to spend the clams to speed the tasks to defeat him before his time ran out when at about 9:30 remaining he reset. It’s now been the four hours and I’ve had to start at the beginning again. Since I hadn’t been able to complete my characters tasks, they were ready with check marks when he came back so I’ve got his first level done and waiting for the four hours before he comes back at level 2.

  9. Sorry I must be a bit slow here so to reiterate..

When you get to the last bit of the attack (say 1 or 2 units remaining) only clear the character that is most likely to finish Bertram off. Leave the others alone.

Then after he has recovered from his rest, clear the characters you didn’t clear from the last round. Their damage will now be knocked off this next round.

Essentially, you are storing up damage that took place in the previous round to come off the current round.

If you need to clear more than one character of finish off Bertram, send them back in so they are battling him whilst he is resting.

During his rest period you should ideally only have only one character not battling.

    Right?

    • It’s all strategy. So say he has 4 hits left. Send Picard or Stewie… just one. If they attack at 3 Damage, then restart them right away back on the task so they continue the battle. Then send Geordi to finish him off.

If he only has 3 Damage left, you may not want to risk Picard or Stewie as they’re your highest damage characters. It’s usually best to try and keep them battling while he’s in Cool Down so they strike the biggest blow as soon as he’s up again. So at a 3, use Geordi or Chris 1 at a time to see if they finish him off. Always sending that one right back on the task as soon as they’re done before Bertram is completely defeated.

Essentially you’re trying to always keep it so as many characters as possible continue the Battle in Cool Down to not loose time. And only 1 Character left out during cool down, but the lowest attacking one. Like Geordi or Chris.

  11. It’s a little disappointing how little the premium characters help in the event. Worf is a Klingon Warrior and instead of battling Bertram he’s sitting around drinking prune juice. I feel a little ripped off having bought every premium character so far and seeing them do so little.

    • He is a HUGE benefit in Bertram Battles. You can try to see what you can do damage wise on Bertram, but if it is like last time round, it will take all of them to defeat the final one.

      • OK. I just wanted to make sure as I am in short supply of crystals and a little behind (just unlocked Talosian Stewie) and wanted to use them as efficiently as possible so i can unlock Kirk.

  13. Ahhh! I was ONE damage away (with 3 hours 58 minutes left, ugh) to defeating laser Bertram! (With only Chris and Geordi!) I was *almost* tempted to spend the 36 clams to take him out but I’m one sunscreen away from Stewie so decided to be patient.
That’s the toughest part of being a freemium player, being patient. If you play smart and strategic you can keep semi-close to clam spenders through most events but **** it gets tough sometimes when something is just sooooo close that you can taste it!!!
But logically it’s 12 hours until I can face level 2 Bertram which I can still defeat with ease so I’ve got a full day at least of trying to get that last sunscreen (6 tries) before I face the big boy again (and then another 24 to defeat) where as if I spend the 36 clams to defeat him now I am stuck on my next attempt at beating him in 24 hours (unlikely) and then have to start the cycle over anyway. This way I gain 7 dark matter while I wait for Stewie to push me over the edge.

  16. Not sure if anyone else is running into this, but I just finished a round of attacks on Bertram, and 2 of my characters did no damage! I clicked on Picard and Stewie first and only got 3 damage out of them (not possible), and then Chris and Guinan both worked fine, then Geordi did not damage! I would be on a cool down now as I only have 3 damage left to do, but now I have, to wait another 4 hours before he is down this time! This is not awesome with how much dark matter I still need for Kirk (I only have like 19).

    • Watch closely as they work. I know that at times it is a delay to show the damage. I want to say it showed as the Dilithium and XP they dropped from their task collected. I just know it was a few moments between the tap on check mark and the Meter moving.

Watch it again next time. Take a SS for your records of how much heart damage he has. Then wait… tap them all… then let the items collect. Then see if the Heart Meter moves. Go to Quahog and come back if need to refresh it. Then take another SS of the progress and compare. If you are missing hits, report it right away.

This is the first report I have seen. I personally have Battled him numerous times in multiple games now. With all 5 Characters. All showed the proper hit count (I tap/collect on each Character only one at a time). I will keep an eye out here in the meantime as well for any other reports

      Like

      • I thought that maybe I was wrong too, that’s when I started tapping them just one at a time and waiting to make sure that the meter was moving and it definitely never moved for Geordi. I sent an in game message to tiny co too right away though. Thanks for the quick response! I’m hoping that this has not been happening beforehand and will not happen again and that it was just this one time fluke!

  18. Ugh, I gotta get Data. He is just in front of the characters battling Bertram and I keep finishing those characters with the check marks during the 4 hour down time for Bertram.

But one cool ?new? job is that Patrick Stewart now has a task for Cat Food. So both Locutus and Patrick Stewart have jobs for Cat Food. So now I don’t feel bad keeping Locutus working on Bertram instead of trying for Data’s Cat Food. It is kinda weird, having Patrick Stewart working in Quahog and Pickard/Locutus on the Enterprise.

  20. Finally unlocked Talosian Stewie today so have all 5 characters on the attack. Not like it matters cause even with all 5 it still will take 8 hours to stun him plus a 4 hour cool down. So max stuns is 2 every 24 hours With 18 health.
Lvl 4 bertram could still be twice a day with all 5 characters but lvl 5+ i can only see being once a day unless they lower his health.

    • You can do a (nearly) full attack on Bertram every 4 hours… one character will be out of action though. When attacking Bertram, only clear one character’s checkmark at a time and immediately send that character back into battle, lather, rinse, repeat until all characters are sent back into battle or Bertram has been defeated. The battle continues while Bertram is slumped over. And when his downtime is done and he’s fighting again, all but one of your characters has been fighting for 4 hours and is ready to have its checkmark tapped. Then you can send all characters back to do it again every 4 hours.

  21. If I had woken up an hour earlier I’d have been able to defeat the third level with only Geordi and Chris. But I had to speed the last forty minutes for both of them since I had just two hits left. Which was twelve clams. I really only did it so that I didn’t have to restart the battle level one. I made my first purchase though (well I used a gift card, I’m not yet willing to give up real money) and so with that ten dollar purchase I got Picard. But I overslept on Sunday, like really overslept, and now I’m behind on fighting the third level again. But still, so far so good

  22. I have to disagree with one portion of your Bertram strategy. I agree with finishing one character at a time and re-entering them in the battle immediately, and thus holding all but one of the characters over to attack as soon as Bertram recovers. My disagreement is with which characters to select as the hit points are low. The characters you most want to carry over to the next battle are those with the higher damage: Stewie, Picard, and (to a lesser extent) Guinan. So you need to concentrate on having someone other than those characters be the one who strikes the finishing blow, rather than “the Character that will most likely finish him off”. That way you’ll get an extra attack in with one of those more valuable characters, rather than the less valuable Chris or Geordi. If there are 4 points or more on Bertram’s gauge, then certainly use one or more of the more valuable characters, then drop them back into battle and finish off with Chris or Geordi. But once you reach 3 or fewer, use Chris and/or Geordi first, then only use one of the others if those two don’t cut it (unlikely). Heck, if Bertram is about to move up to a more difficult form, one that might give you trouble, and you have more than 4 hrs and only one or two points left on his current one, I would actually recommend holding off on using one of the more valuable characters at all, and just wait those 4 hrs to kill him with Geordi/Chris.

    Like

    • You run the risk of having to reset 3 Characters back on the task if only 1 Damage is made. So that is why I recommended the higher Damage. So you don’t chip away 1 by 1 by 1. It is easier to get it as low as possible, then use the 1-2 Damage Characters. I also said to keep the higher hitting ones out when it is to close. It all depends on what is left. You pretty much just repeated what my post said. 😉

      • “If he only has 2 to 3 left, than use Picard to see if that clears it, if not resend Picard, then tap on another Character to complete it.”

This is the part I specifically disagree with. If you have 2 or 3 left and all fighters are ready for you to complete their tasks, Picard or Stewie are the last ones you would want to select in that situation, since you don’t want either of those two to deal the finishing blow if you can help it. Use Geordi and Chris (restarting the fight task in between, if the first isn’t successful, of course), and only bring in the big guns if both of those roll ones, which is not likely (25% chance). And even if it does happen, “chipping away 1 by 1 by 1” is actually a good thing if you don’t have to wait 4 hrs in between, as you’re gaining additional task rewards for each one who finishes. Geordi and Chris getting your last two or three points nets you two task rewards and a stronger fighter than either of those two ready to deal damage as soon as Bertram is back. Picard or Stewie alone getting your last two or three points nets you only one task reward and one fewer attack by that more valuable fighter next time around. Even if Geordi and Chris fail and you have to use Picard or Stewie anyway, you still gained two task rewards more than if you just finished it with Picard or Stewie in the first place. The cooldown time is the same as the task time, so they’ll all (other than whoever dealt the final blow) still be ready to attack once Bertram is back, no matter how many it takes to get that final blow.

  24. Seems simple enough, especially since its the same as the Yeti. Was hoping you’d get more dilthium though 😦 oh and is it me or have the premium characters been pretty useless this event, which is weird considering they cosy more.
Here for example guinan is a help at the start but nothing special once you get Stewie/Picard, Bruce Willis was vital for the Yeti.

Hopefully they give 100.000 dillthium away at the end otherwise I see no way of getting all the characters, especially with 2 new ones next week+ likely a dilthium mystery box. Or does someone have some crystal earning tricks?

@Bunny good point, and if its anything like the Yeti we’ll need all the characters possible for the last one. If I remember right he was tough even with the premium characters.
I have been sending meg/Q off on the away missions that give 500/750 dilithium, but dont want to go all out just incase we need the energy next update. Think I got 1250 (one 500 and one 750 for those keeping count at home) from 4 trips, which helped me get Stewie. So I suppose there are ways there. Look forward to reading the post (which may or may not already be up as I havent checked yet haha)

Have everything else in the replicator done for far (besides Kirk). Got Talosian Stewie unlocked last night so have him battling Bertramnow. Switched him out with Picard/Locutus so I can have Locutus get the Cat Food for Data (Need 9 Anti-virus Software and 8 Cat Food to unlock). Wish the Anti-virus Software dropped a little more often but at least it is only 2 hour tasks to try and get them and not longer ones. Hope to have everything but Kirk done by Thursday when we get the last of the items released. Can’t wait to see what we are gonna need to do in order to get Scotty and Khaaaaan!!, and the last two replicator buildings.

  29. This Star Trek event has been better that I anticipated. That being said, it would be nice to see newer mechanics with these boss levels. The addition of the Enterprise as a separate play area is revolutionary, but it seems a bit hampered by the Boss battle, which is just like the Yeti battle. Oh well. Still a great event…even as a freemium player.

    King Yeti – 35

the drops for the yeti were 2-5-10-25-50 i think (500/1000 cookies for last 2 levels)

so try to unlock as many chars as you can, and get everything easy on last week, (as long as tinyco dont nuke the rewards)

I am finding battling Bertram sooo much easier than battling the Yeti. I just unlocked Picard so that will make it even easier. 🙂

  36. I managed to get through the first 2 stages without any problems, but I didn’t wake up early enough on the 3rd stage and I missed clicking on the characters to allow them a chance to finish him off (and even then it wasn’t guaranteed they would have won).

I didn’t consider trying to hold off and not click the check marks after he was defeated, that may help when I get back up to try again. Even more helpful will be if I manage to get the 1 more sunscreen I need to make Stewie.

Any tips for getting large amounts of dilithium? Picard needs 8000 (on top of his energy requirements) so that one will be a bit tough. And then Kirk will be even more on top of that. One of the away missions has a chance of dropping a lot, but it is a fairly low chance, but once my guys get done with whatever other questlines they are working through I will probably go ahead and make them try that for a while.

  37. I want Guinan to be 2-3 as well being premium. Oh well, I won’t knock it. Especially considering it only takes half a day to take down Bertram. I wonder if the heart scales will be the same as the yeti from Chrismas? 24 for next level and 35 for top level?

I’m do close to getting the stewed costume, but I might hold out to get the Picard one instead. Already defeated belton at the highest level and waiting for him to recharge so I can go at him again.

Get stewie first. He’ll help tons in getting repeat kills on Bertram. You’ll have the DE needed for Picard in no time.

  39. Having a slight problem with the drops for talosian stewie, I am just 400 crystals, 1 face cream and 5 of those blue shirts away but for the 1000 factor sun cream I have none. I have all possible characters working towards stewie as I want him more than Picard, bev crusher, data and co. I am almost there but no where near on that last one.
It’s so frustrating not being able to get him as I really need him for Borg Bertram – cheers guys

    • My problem with TS is much the same, as I at have 2/6 of the Sunscreens and am full on everything else. It’s particularly annoying since I still haven’t unlocked Beverly, so instead of the Genetics Labs dropping those last few Hyposprays I need for her, they’re only dropping the (now useless) Wrinkle Cream. And one of the people who can get me those Hyposprays from the Borg (Worf), has to be used to get Sunscreen. Already changed out the Sonic Showers I had (which dropped Robes) for something that drops more Dilithium.

    • I’ve had everything else for quite some time, but I’ve only got one sunscreen despite grinding constantly for it the whole time with the two free characters. 8hr job + “rare” = PITA. I don’t think I’ll ever get Talosian Stewie at this rate, which means I can’t defeat Bertram…

Also, I don’t understand why these outfits are in the replicator and not the specially-designed Enterprise outfit store, or why with these outfits the jobs for items we’ve finished collecting still show up at the top of the task lists.

      • Previous events going waaaaaaaay back (like Comic Con) had them this way as well.

As for the other, it is due to they are in a “craftable” location. So much like the Brewery, as long as an item is in there and not completed on a build, the game will view the item there and push the necessary Material drops to make it. Once the item is gone from there, the game recognizes it is gone and stops the drops.

        • Precedent or not, the infinite gathering thing looks a lot like a bug. Like someone borked some code somewhere. It’s definitely not a feature.

And why are these outfits in a “craftable location” instead of in the event-specific outfit shop, like the other outfits for this event? That also seems accidental.

At least the buildings for this event aren’t all screwy like the Valentine’s ones, though!

          • It is common for them to be there. (Look at the Brewery and past events like Comic Con). The Brewery is a PERFECT example of infinity drops. Just look at the comments. To this day people still asking why they continue to drop.

              Hi Bunny
I disagree, specifically about Stewie. It is not like the other craftable items. Yes, for Picard and Kirk, they belong in the replicator because the are built with types of energy and you can see the totals of the energy types as you earn them. Stewie is differentm none of his required items is energy. None of his needed items are also needed by any other thing in the replicator. When you reach the max number of items needed for Stewie extra ones earned are not shown, the go into a black hole. That is different from any other craftable item. Because of all these reasons, it’s a mistake for Stewie to be in the replicator, he should be either in the wardrobe shop or like Data and Berverly and the other characters and have earned items stop collecting when the max is reached. Because he is a skin he really deserves to be in Harringtons. For people still collecting for Crusher and Quagmire, I recommend NOT upgrading the warp core if you haven’t yet. By upgrading early it was MUCH harder getting them as my genetics labs mostly only made cream instead of hypos prays, which beforehand I had been getting at an ok rate and the Vulcan ship was getting 90% chips for data instead of the item for Quagmire. The didn’t really return until I had earned all 25 chips which delayed my getting Quagmire for several days.

              • I get this is a sore point, but not a need for argument. He IS like craftables from the past that were in areas just like this. Just because he is not gaining exact same items as others is not what I am referring to. We have seen this before in the past. I did not say it was a good idea, just done before and like others before.

Instead of arguing a moot point about the mechanics of a Character, can we refocus it back to the actual post? Thanks 😉

  40. Your tip to hold off upgrading to next level won’t work to get Kirk!

We need 150 Dark Matter to collect Kirk and at 10 per defeat once a day, there is not enough time in the event to gain kirk that way.

Hopefully there will be more ways to get Dark Matter Or Higher Payout when we upgrade!

    • It may for those with LESS Characters and not able to hit and continue hitting the higher level “Boss” when released. So instead of bottoming out and rising to the 4th and 5th. They can stay on the 3rd over n over n over. So… it will help them. We saw it last Event.

      • I think John’s point is correct.

Doing the math, then a player who already has Geordi, Chris, Stewie AND Picard needs 16 hours to defeat Laser Borg Bertram (3 rounds plus Cool down). There is 238 hours left in the event. Which equates to 14 battles.

14 battles x 10 Dark Matter = 140. Which is 10 shy of the requirement for Kirk.

To be fair, IF TinyCo extends the event, then the strategy may work. But that’s a lot of IFs.

        • As just WHAT TinyCo has in store next Core Upgrade, all the details of what MAY happen is just speculation at this point. I am more focused on what players CAN do with what is currently in the game along with the options they may have at battling. Like I said, it was for those BEHIND, not on top of the game.

    • Keep in mind as well that if you have Chris, Geordi, Picard, and Stewie, you should have no problem beating the Laser form of Bertram in less than a day (3 rounds maximum, and 2 if TS and Picard carry over and you get a modicum of luck). And that doesn’t even take into account if you bought Guinan. Their “wait” plan works best when being used to continue to quickly gain Dark Matter and Dilithium in order to get Talosian Stewie and Picard, after which you can then level up and use them to defeat the more powerful versions of Bertram, and gain even more DM and Dilithium. And even if you have horrible luck, it’s still better to barely beat Lvl3 Bertram once a day than to lose to Lvl4 Bertram on your first attempt and have to work your way back up.

  41. Even getting ahead of things didn’t seem to be enough, I got very unlucky with hits and realized quickly that I wasn’t going to be able to beat level 3 Betram with Chris & Geordi. Should be better this time, as if I can get one more of the hand creams (I think that’s what?) for Stewie, he can join in and it’ll be a rout. And then a few more crystals and Picard can join in…

Should be ok. Then it’ll be the synthesizer energy that I need to gather more of in order to get Kirk while my people are battling Bertram…it’ll be close.

    Like

    • Dude, same exact story here. I’m so scared that I won’t be able to get enough synthesizer energy for Kirk. I have 55 right now… And for some reason, Stareet XP hasn’t been so great either. I just reached level 9. I was ahead for the whole event until now. This sucks.
