FYI… for those of you that complained TinyCo should put those “Con” Characters to use, you may want to go check their tasks. Just sayin. Looking at you George and Patrick. 😉
Hey there Tribblemakers!
Lots of cool New Items in the game all needing Dilithium Crystals. Many of you are now panicking. How will you get all the items you need? No worries, here to help as usual. This will be a LOT of info so you are gonna need a minute. 😉
First off, do not look at Kirk as someone you need RIGHT NOW! Just like Takei and Jesus, he is essentially the “last item” to shoot for in the Replicator. So please do not panic thinking you need him this very moment or this week even. It will take time. Trust me. But no worries, as Bertram progresses and you progress Dilithium will become easier to obtain. These counts are for ONLY up to Warp Core 5. We still have MORE coming and I am sure MORE options to earn. 😉
Now for the breakdown… as of right now, these are all the available items within the Menu, Enterprise Rooms, and Replicator that you can create to help earn more Dilithium for your game. This is for Regular earned items. YOUR results will depend on what YOU own, make, build, etc… along with YOUR time in the game.
ROOMS & BUILDINGS
PAYOUT EVERY 1HR
| Item | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Geordi’s VISOR Hut | 1hr | 1 | 1 |
This Building does not have a ton of Payout on it, but if you are in your game every 1hr, make sure you tap on it to help.
Possibility of 20 Dilithium
in 20hrs
PAYOUT EVERY 2HRS
| Room | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| The Space Crapper | 2hrs | 1 | 1 |
| Riker’s Quarters | 2hrs | 1 | 1 |
| Genetics Lab | 2hrs | 1 | 1 |
| Crew’s Quarters | 2hrs | 1 | 1 |
If you Collect on these rooms every 2 hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout. (Remember most rooms you can build 2 of)…
Every 2hrs x 8 times = 8 (32 for all 4 Rooms)
Every 2hrs x 9 times= 9 (36 for all 4 rooms)
Every 2hrs x 10 times= 10 (40for all 4 rooms)
Possibility of 40 Dilithium
in 20hrs for all 3 Rooms.
PAYOUT EVERY 3HRS
| Room | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Medical Lab | 3hrs | 2 | 1 |
If you Collect on this room every 3 hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember most rooms you can build 2 of)…
Every 3hrs x 4 times = 8
Every 3hrs x 5 times= 10
Every 3hrs x 6 times= 12
Possibiliy of 12 Dilithium
in 18hrs.
PAYOUT EVERY 4HRS
| Item | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Earl Grey Hawt Tea | 4hrs | 5 | 1 |
If you Collect on this Building every 4 hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember, you can build more than one)
Every 4hrs x 3 times= 15
Every 4hrs x 4 times= 20
Every 4hrs x 5 times= 25
Possibility of 20 Dilithium
in 20hrs
| Room | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Weapons Locker | 4hrs | 5 | 1 |
| Cargo Bay | 4hrs | 5 | 1 |
| Robotics Lab | 4hrs | 5 | 1 |
If you Collect on these rooms every 4 hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember most rooms you can build 2 of)…
Every 4hrs x 3 times= 15 (45 for all 3)
Every 4hrs x 4 times= 20 (60 for all 3)
Every 4hrs x 5 times= 25 (75 for all 3)
Possibility of 75 Dilithium
in 20 hrs
| Room | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Wardrobe Services | 4hrs | 12 | 3 |
| Sonic Shower | 4hrs | 1 | 1 |
Now these two rooms are a bit odd ones out. If you can build TWO Wardrobe Services, I would highly suggest it. The payout is really good on it.
Every 4hrs x 3 times= 36
Every 4hrs x 4 times= 48
Every 4hrs x 5 times= 60
Possible 60 Dilithium
in 20hrs for Wardrobe Services
The Sonic Shower is a low payout, so once you have all the items you need from it, I would suggest replacing it for a better paying one.
PAYOUT EVERY 6HRS
| Item | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Bat’Leth Badassery Outlet | 6hrs | 8 | 2 |
| T’Plana Hath | 6hrs | 8 | 2 |
If you Collect on these Buildings every 6 hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout
Every 6hrs x 2 times= 16 (32 for 2)
Every 6hrs x 3 times= 24 (48 for 2)
Every 6hrs x 4 times= 32 (64 for 2)
Possibility of 64 Dilithium
in 20hrs
| Room | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Rec Room | 6hrs | 8 | 2 |
| Super Rad Cargo Bay | 6hrs | 8 | 2 |
If you Collect on these rooms every 6 hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember most rooms you can build 2 of)…
Every 6hrs x 2 times= 16 (32 for 2)
Every 6hrs x 3 times= 24 (48 for 2)
Every 6hrs x 4 times= 32 (64 for 2)
Possibility of 64 Dilithium
in 20hrs
PAYOUT EVERY 8HRS
| Item | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Vulcan High Command | 8hrs | 10 | 2 |
If you Collect on this Building every 8 hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember, some you can build more than one)
Every 8hrs x 1 times= 10
Every 8hrs x 2 times= 15
Every 8hrs x 3 times= 30
Possibility of 30 Dilithium
in 24hrs
PAYOUT EVERY 10HRS
| Item | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Klingon Temple | 10hrs | 12 | 3 |
If you Collect on this Building every 10hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember, some you can build more than one)
Every 10hrs x 1 times= 12
Every 10hrs x 2 times= 20
Possibility of 20 Dilithium

PAYOUT EVERY 12HRS
| Item | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Borg Cube 63697 | 12hrs | 15 | 3 |
If you Collect on this Building every 12hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember, some you can build more than one)

Every 12hrs x 2 times= 30
Possibility of 30 Dilithium
in 24hrs
PAYOUT EVERY 16HRS
| Item | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Romulan Ale Bar | 16hrs | 20 | 4 |
If you Collect on this Building every 16hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember, some you can build more than one)
Every 16hrs x 1 times= 20
Possibility of 20 Dilithium
in 16hrs
PAYOUT EVERY 20HRS
| Item | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Klingon Forehead Clinic | 20hrs | 25 | 5 |
| Latinum Loans | 20hrs | 20 | 5 |
If you Collect on these Buildins every 16hrs throughout the day, here is an idea of your possible Payout (Remember, some you can build more than one)
Every 20hrs x 1 times= 25
Every 20hrs x 1 times= 20
Possibility of 45 Dilithium
in 20hrs
For an overall Daily Collection of 530 Dilithium
a day. (That is with only one of each item and not even completing all daily collections)
530 Dilithium x 10 Days left = 5300 Dilithium from just some Buildings & Rooms (I know many of you have multiples).
CHARACTERS
Now I know some of your Characters are on daily tasks to earn various Materials. If you are still collecting Materials for someone or Energy, keep them on that task. These are more for the Characters when they are free or you have some time to spend a few minutes to send them to get you some help. As shorter tasks earn you a lot more in a lot less time, I will be only focusing on tasks from 1-4hrs
PAYOUT EVERY 1HR
| Character | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Starfleet Peter | 1hr | 5 | 12 |
| Ferengi Mort | 1hr | 5 | 1 |
| Starfleet Lois | 1hr |
As you can see, Starfleet Lois will be a HUGE boost in your Dilithium. I would suggest trying to spend a few hours each day to have her help you get where you need to be.
Every 1 hrs x 8 times = 45 Dilithium (90 for Mort & Peter)
Every 1hrs x 8 times = 450 Dilithium for Starfleet Lois
Possibility of 90 Dilithium
in 8hrs with Mort & Peter
Possibility of 450 Dilithium in 8hrs with Starfleet Lois
That means if you just send Starfleet Lois alone over and over for 16hrs, you will have 900 Dilithium Task is back down to just 5, but you can still make use of it along with the other two above to continue to earn a lot of Dilithium.
in 16 hrs!
PAYOUT EVERY 2HRS
Every 2hrs x 8 times = 80
Every 2hrs x 9 times= 90
Every 2hrs x 10 times= 100
So for just ONE Character going on their 2hr task throughout the day, you can earn 100 Dilithium Crystals in just 20hrs.
100 x 5 Characters= 500
100 x 6 Characters= 600
100 x 7 Characters= 700
Possibility of 500 Dilithium
in 20hrs with ONLY 5 Characters
PAYOUT EVERY 3 HRS
| Character | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Dr. Crusher | 3hrs | 15 | 3 |
If you are FREEMIUM, Dr. Crusher is your main option for Red Shirts. So you will most likely be using this 3hr task over and over to get the Red Shirts cleared. The payout is just as good as 4hr tasks, so a good idea to use it when you can.
Every 3hrs x 6 times = 90
Every 3hrs x 7 times= 105
Every 3hrs x 8 times= 120
Possibility of 120 Dilithium
in 24hrs
PAYOUT EVERY 4HRS
This Characters will help with Bertram, so I will seclude them to ONLY this 4hr option.
| Character | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Geordi | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
| Klingon Chris | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
| Talosian Stewie | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
| Picard (Locutus) | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
With continuous battles with Bertram, here are the kind of payouts you will see.
Every 4hrs x 3 times= 45
Every 4hrs x 4 times= 60
Every 4hrs x 5 times= 75
To go just a bit further, let’s look at how it will work out with the Characters.
2 Characters x 75= 150 in 20hrs
3 Characters x 75= 225 in 20hrs
4 Characters x 75= 300 in 20hrs
So not even a full day of Bertram Battles with just 3 Characters will give you 225 Dilithium
in 20hrs
Now for the basic tasks
| Character | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP |
| Riker | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
| Ferengi Mort | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
| Edo Herbert | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
| Vulcan Quagmire | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
| Data | 4hrs | 15 | 3 |
These Characters do have a chance at 2hr tasks for a lil better payout, but I find more people may be in there games every 4hr so I put their option in this one too. Here is an idea of the payout.
Every 4hrs x 3 times= 45
Every 4hrs x 4 times= 60
Every 4hrs x 5 times= 70
A little more breakdown…
2 Characters x 75= 150 in 20hrs
3 Characters x 75= 225 in 20hrs
4 Characters x 75= 300 in 20hrs
With just 3 Characters you can get 225 Dilithium
in 20hrs
For an overall Daily Collection of 1160 Dilithium
a day. (That is not even using all the Characters possible for the payout.)
1160 Dilithium x 10 Days left = 11600 Dilithium
from just sending your Characters out to do what they already are.
Keep in mind this did not even include Starfleet Lois add her in …
900 Dilithium x 10 Days left = 9000 Dilithium She is back to just 5, but still helpful as it is an hour task so easy to send her over n over.
not even sending Starfleet Lois as many times as you can.
250 Dilithium
x 10 Days left = 2500 defeating Bertram at ONLY the 3rd Laser Borg Bertram.
PLANETS
On a side note, you also have the option to send Characters to Planets. At times you may get a BETTER payout as the same time frame is spent on one Character will the same payout (like a 4hr task) but you add in the possibility of extra items, like Dilithium in great amounts being added. It may be worth a try if you still have lots of Transporter Energy to use up.
So as you can see, if you are going to be sending a Character off on a random task that may not help out much, have Transporter Energy to spare, might as well try for a BETTER payout than that 1-4 hour task would have given you.
UPDATE: Thanks so much to our awesome readers sharing their results with other. Here are some of the results on Planet trips we are seeing, give them a try if you would like. 😉
Savory Cook: I’m still playing around with it. Nothing too consistent. I did okay sending Klingon Meg alone to Planet Acapella a few times. She brought back 450 Crystals twice, 750 Crystals on another trip. The last one just 15 Crystals though. Helped me unlock Picard. When she gets back from this trip from Acapella might try my luck at Planet Beta Max. Will post if find a good combo for the 500 crystal chance there.
Alex: (also Acapella) I sent peter alone 4 times and 3 of those times he came back with 750 crystals.
Mike: Planet acapella has paid out quite nicely for me. Only sending out klingon Meg since she has become useless lol. Last 5 trips were 750, nothing, 450, nothing, then 750 again. Not bad in less than 2 days. Will be running out of blue orbs soon though.
Thanks for the write up. Hopefully we get a special 100k dilithium treat like at Christmas.
TRIBBLES
Though these lil guys were set to go away by Phase 2 starting, I am happy to say they are still hanging around. So tap on them anytime you can see them in your town. One at a time, so when they multiply you get the full spawn. If you already have too many in your Enterprise, only 1 or 2 will spawn from multiply if any at all when tapped. These lil guys drop anywhere from 1-5 Dilithium each. That can add up fast. Not to mention the extra CHANCE Clam popping out now and then.
PREMIUM THINGS

Now for the Premium breakdown… as of right now, these are all the available items within the Menu, Enterprise Rooms, and Replicator that you can create to help earn more Dilithium for your game. This is for items you can spend your Clams on. As these are more items you may just buy one or multiple of, I will group them together with their possible daily payout for you over 24hrs of Collecting Rent on them.
Now this is more for those that do not want to put the time or effort in to get the items they are going for in “play for it” method and instead WANT to spend Clams. As always, the choice to pay out your precious Clams is YOURS to make. You do not have to spend them, but here is an idea if YOU choose to do so.
(Klingon Meg is in here only due to Premiums were required for purchase in order to be able to obtain her.)
| Premium Planet | Time | Dilithium Crystals |
Starfleet XP | Possible |
| Planet Vulcan | 2hrs | 10 | 3 | 400 Dilithium |
| Kronos | 4hrs | 15 | 3 | 3 Life Support/ 200 Dilithium |
Note: These Planets will be useful as a possible Substitute for a Character task if you unlocked it. It will give you the standard payout, but a chance at additional Dilithium on top of it if you have excess Transporter Energy.
As you can see, WITHOUT spending any Clams at all you can easily earn 19400 Dilithium![]()

by the end of the Event. All that by not even using ALL the Items, Character, Buildings, Planets, and side options available at your fingertips for a FREEMIUM Player. This does not even include what you already have right now.
What do YOU think of it all. Are there any tips you want to add? Any strategies you are planning to use in order to gain the amount of Dilithium you will need? Feel free to share with your fellow Players your tips and tricks.

IT IS QUITE HARD to get all the dilithium we need, i currently miss ONLY dilithium to unlock
-Picard (8K)
-Dr. crash (3.5)
plus Data (4K) and Captain Kirk (15K)
-I cpuld have unlocked crash, but i preffered to unlock Stewie, as he battles Bertram.
At the end I need 30 500 dilithium to un lock these guys, while i am only making 2K a day 😦

Busting up the space rocks with the phasers gives you dillithiums too 😉 I had all these orange phasers but nothing to do with them…I remembered that blasting rocks got me dillithiums and wanted to see if it still worked. It does and I got dillithiums, experience points and I even got 2 synthesizer ore. The slow rocks only gave me one but the fast rocks gave me 5 and if other rocks fly into the stream they get blasted as well.

During the next event, I’m going to weight heavily the cost of making a building versus the payout of the building over the length of the event. If the building costs 1000 currency and pays out 1/hr and no drops, then I am better off saving currency.

I have 2426, and the 1000 crystal building in the shop i don’t have, i have one of every other crystal building that isnt a clam item, as well as one of each of the replicator buildings. I have every room is some 1 crystal for 2 hours or 5 for 4 hour building, except 4 are the green and blue crystal rooms. I have only Data and Kirk not unlocked, and i actually bought clams for Guinan and Q (that did some good but still). I have only 2426 crystals and only JUST a half hour ago reached Starfleet level 9. My only saving grace is i can in fact defeat Bertram with Stewie Picard and Guinan ALONE, and i am forced to try doing the event quests in hopes that SOMETHING gives me enough EXP for getting to level 10. Can i still get Kirk? Also only have 50 green crystals, using 10 for the casket ejector won’t let me reach level 10 and then i have 8 days to get 20 more green. I think this weekend devoting EVERY Borg defeater to fighting borgs can help, but still, i cant get past 250 crystals daily for Bertram until i reach level 10 buy HOPEFULLY tomorrow. What do i do? Is it doable?

Like the post says, Kirk is meant to be the final prize, you still have time. The two new Bertrams will probably help as well.

For those using away missions to add to your dilithium totals, they seem to have changed Beta Max so that it now costs 5 blue balls (but is still a 2 hour trip). So it may no longer be cost efficient to go there rather than Acapella (which is still 4 energy/4 hours). Of course the drop rate may be better if you have multiple characters going, but you’d have to work that out for yourselves.

I hope they will put a life support energy (or any other type of energy) to Dilithium crystal converter similar to Halloween since I have 109 life support energy and nothing to do with it.

Bunny I so admire your extra-math-ual efforts here. But the sad piece of math is plain: even if you already have Vulcan Quagmire, it will take 31,000 DC to get Talosian Stewie, Data, Picard, and Kirk. Even the 16,000 to get all but Kirk seems an impossible climb, especially since characters can only do one earning task at a time, not go on an away team and earn materials, etc. TinyCo has usually been soooo much better in letting people who’ve been playing since the start of an event get the basic materials needed, even freemium. I’ve spent clams on more premium objects/characters than in any other event, still, not even a shot at getting 3 out of the 4 characters/skins left, let alone all four. Do you think TinyCo has some surprises for us this week?

Like my post stated… this was results with only this weeks current stats. TinyCo always adds more each Phase, so I have no doubt more options will come. My math shows even with basics, not using ALL Characters, not using ALL Rooms, not using ALL time allotted… 19000+ is doable. Add all the extras in there and it will go above and beyond that amount quickly.
As far as the away missions, that is why I stated use one of those instead of a task. You can send them away for 4hrs… same time as task. For a payout… same as task. The Bonus comes in with the chance of Extra Materials. You are already spending the time, getting the payout… so if you have extra Energy… why not give it a try to possibly snag 400-750 Extra Dilithium? Or Synthesizer Ore needed for Kirk. 😉

Hi Bunny,
Reggarding the Away Missions, and looking at the comments on other posts, it seems that must of us are spending away all the Transporter Energy Balls for a chance on the most needed Cristals.
Actualy the need for cristals was the major change in the game on this week upgrade, even for premium addicted players, for who the premium buildings that generate event currency are/were usualy a bad deal…
My point is, with an upgrade scheduled for this Thursday, be careful not to spend all your transporter energy balls, save some of them (I’m aiming for 50) for the new Phase cause you will never know if they will be needed for a New Planet and/or a new Character or Skin…After Thursday, If nothing new comes a long for Away Missions spend it away, until then I think caution is required…
Cheers.

Bunny – Did you deduct the amount of Crystals that are needed to build the items? Some may never pay for themselves. The Romulan Ale Bar is the only item that didnt need crystals to build.

Like I said… this is ONLY calculations on earning over the next 10 days. The Romulan Ale Bar was a couple Phases back and should already be in existance in most players games. Along with all the other items listed.
If I factor in everything from day of launch… these numbers would be a LOT different. We have been collecting now for weeks.

Just to share / compare … My daily crystal earning was 2500 today. I sent Peter and vulcan quagmire to beta max planet 3 times and got lucky in that they paid out 500 crystals twice. Also beat Bertram on highest level once. Have Picard & Stewie skin unlocked and unlocked Data this afternoon. Have Worf & Spock (though they don’t really pay out much), no premium buildings/rooms, one of each on freemium buildings. Also sent Troi to a planet a few times knowing she wouldn’t drop anything but it still paid more crystals than her tasks. Don’t want to waste too much energy on transport yet, as there’s two other items in the replicator and they may be required yet.

I owe you an apology, Bunny! (Perhaps in the form of some caramel sauce for those apples?) I foolishly doubted the attainability of your 1000 crystals per day estimate, yet I see I have 1800 right now, when I was down to like 200 at the time of my doubting post. Coupling that with how reliable TinyCo has previously been at making things achievable, I will attempt to stop panicking over what I’ll need to get Kirk. (No promises on not griping about Kirk not helping for a future event, though.) Since I started playing last June/July, there hasn’t been anything that was near-impossible and stayed that way (meaning the things that seemed impossible have been altered so more players could get them – for those newer readers).
Thanks for always being here to listen while we panic! And to remind us there’s no need to do so… 🙂
P.S. I’m so glad we still get tribbles! I don’t know why, but I love tapping the little boogers!

Not sure if this has been said, but if you have spare warp, life support and Borg cubes, I would suggest building a load of romunlan ale bars. I’ve got about 10 at the moment. No upfront crystal cost and quite a sizeable payout.
(FYI, I’m not aiming for kirk so I appreciate not everyone will have spare cubes)

I just wanted to write this as well, but you were faster 🙂
I have 15 of this, each one pays out 20 crystals in every 16 hours (and I think 400 starfleet xp once you build one). One romulan ale bar costs 4 LSE, 2 green ore, and 1 blue transporter energy. So you dont need crystals to build them, and you can get from 15 romulan ale bar more than 3000 crystals until the end of this event. Keep building!

Great tip thanks, I’ve just bought 15 ale bars as I had 200+ life support, 100+ synthesiser ore’s and about 75 transporter energy
So that’s an extra 300 crystals every 16hrs, nice little boost!
And I still have enough synthesiser ore’s 4 kirk n i have picard…. so just need 2 keep defeating bertram n hope the final 2 sunscreens drop so I can get stewie (drops r definitely extra rare)
Oh and sidenote I was only just at starfleet level 9 n worried about making it 2 level 10 by Thursday…… Needless 2 say I’m already there after creating 15 ale bars at 400xp a pop lol

Thanks Bunny, think this should give some freemium players an incentive to keep going. Personally I’m feeling relaxed and confident. I have clams sitting but to date only unlocked Kronos and bought Spock. Apart from those no other premium buys and I’m well on target to complete everything. But I agree Bunny this has taken work and dedication, but to date I have enjoyed the event immensely despite not being a Trekkie. I hope we see more events like this, the massochist in me is enjoying it, perhaps a little too much. Oops. And as ever Bunny & Alissa have added that little icing on the cake with their blog posts, although I’ve heard a rumour Alissa is hiding out with Sideshow Bob in Sprimgfield, beam her back up Bunny.

Hi Bunny! Quick question. I’ve been concentrating on unlocking characters and fighting Bertram. Only need a few more things to get Data and still need a dump truck load of dark energy. Haven’t done much with the questlines yet. I usually try to do both so I’m trying something new. Am I killing myself by doing it this way? Thanks a bunch!
Hope you guys and everybody else reading this site are having a great day! 😀
Take care,
Aaron

The only thing so far questlines hold you up on is unlocking some items along the way. Like Borg, Red Shirts, areas of ship, etc. This Warp Core, the Bertram Battles are a part of the questline along with others. Do what you can when you can. Try to at least squeeze the main questline in there. That way you are at least progressing there in case it is needed with the next Phase.

Excellent article and gives me some piece of mind, I spent 500 on another Borg cube to help with the cat food and now today I am almost where I can get stewie from the replicator.

So they “fixed” the drop for Lois’ one-hour task. Could they fix her four-hour task (holodeck romance) as well which now pays out exactly the same as the one-hour task? Most four-hour tasks pay 15 currency yet this one pays out five. Seems like they always fix the ones that are of benefit to the players yet never fix the ones that have a lesser yield than what they have established as the norm for the game. Ten days to go in the game; did they really need to make the change?? I thought it was a nice gesture on their part and forced strategy by the players. Those quirks where you have to make a decision with a character’s tasks as to what benefits YOU the most is what makes this game the most fun. No need to defend TinyCo’s position. We all understand its motivation in decision making.

I thought it was just me, when I went to quahog and hit Starfleet Lois’s check mark and hit it I got 5 dillithium, then checked her task and noticed the drop in DC for her, so I immediately came here and saw all the scatch marks on the post itself, with no explanatIon. What happened? Not being negative, but why did they do that, i was starting to se my dillithium accumulate a little better. BOOOOOOOOOO……..HISSSSSSSS 😦 to tiny co. Anyways thought I was gonna get to picards skin quicker, but seeing I have all the stuff for stewies skin and 5100 DC, I’ll get stewie first and just beat up on bertram till they lower the rate on him. Thanks B&A, well Im going back to the enterprise for stewies skin, happy gaming.

Look at all the other 1 hr tasks. It was incorrect payout to begin with. It was bound to be patched sooner or later. The fact they let us go this long is pretty cool.
You can’t ask one glitch to be repaired but not others. A glitch is still a glitch. Some just may take a lil more time and energy behind the scenes to make the repair, so some are not instant. But they are repaired.
Happy lil glitch while it lasted. 😉

This is all very helpful for the math for certain. So first off thank you.
However what you are not taking into account on your calculations is that it takes crystals to make crystals. Building crystal payout (and rooms for that matter) is pathetic. Let’s say a room pays out 2 crystals every 2 hours. In a 40 day event if you stayed up all 24 hours every day to collect (or set your alarm) you’d get 12 chances a day or 480 chances total in a 40 day event. That’s 960 crystals. Except let’s say it’s Riker’s quarters. (which is really 1 crystal every 2 hours so actually an event long payout of 480 crystals maximum), but it costs 700 crystals to create. This doesn’t even take into account that the rooms themselves aren’t available day one of the event so it’s even less payout during the rooms effective duration.
Same with characters. I still need to unlock quagmire, data, piccard, and the alien stewie costume all of which require a ton of crystals that they can never hope to offset this late in the game. So they are not contributing to production right now. Even ones I just unlocked like Dr. Crusher 2 days ago will likely never pay for herself. Perhaps some characters that have tasks to high payout planets, but you need Chris to battle bertram and you need peter to advance most questlines to open up the content anyways. The payouts are also listed as low. TC need to raise it to a garaunteed payout of at least something (I.e. you get a green cube, 450 DC or 750 DC). Not just a measly 15 DC for trying and now out 2 transporter energy.
Additionally with only 2 people working on Bertram at this moment (geordi and chris) stunning the 3rd stage of him is a long shot so I let it reset, losing 24 hours of stunning time, but send those characters on to help get orange phasers crystals so i can unlock quagmire and collect DC.
Finally add in the things we needed to buy just to get close to the exp needed for warp core upgrades and the multiples of them (casket ejector) and how many crystals those cost and we’re behind again. I’m one bar above level 9 right now. (Pretty sure that star shaped space ship didn’t give me exp as my bar didn’t light up or move).
I know TC makes adjustments, but with such a short time left now in the event the adjustments will only help those that are close who are the people who likely took advantage of the room swap exploit and romulan bar exp glitch while the rest of us (me who checks the game every 2 hours) are hopelessly behind with little hope to even get close to getting data and stewie let alone Kirk or Piccard. Or the new content for Thursday.

I understand what you are saying, but look at my calculations. It is ONLY for 10 days… and that is going forward. It does not at all take into account EVERYTHING you should have earned, won, and unlocked up to this point. So yes… if someone was JUST starting out today, I can see concerns. But for an event weeks in, many of these should already be bought and paid for.
I am showing that earning Dilithium can be done by simple play. I intentionally even calculated LESS than time spent. LESS than Characters that could participate. I also did not even include a bunch of other side options and calculations, like all the questline completion totals… those add up fast. This is very stripped down and very basic calculations.
So I get what you are saying, but when you look at my overall post … I took a LOT into calculation when putting it together… INCLUDING people that don’t have it all. 😉

It would be great if they could increase the drop rate for sunscreen… 12 attempts at 8 hours a piece with zero drops is not rare. It’s epic. Tasks that drop rare items like that should be four hours or less. I swear I don’t know what TC is thinking sometimes with their algorithms…

If I have extra crystals for shooting the asteroids, should I hold onto it to see if it’ll be useful in the next phase? Or use it to try to get crystals?

I would hold onto them just to see what the next stage brings you

Thanks for the detailed posts about Dilithium.
I have a suggestion though:
In the rooms and buildings section include how much they cost in the first place as many of these will not end up gaining you any crystals by the end of the event.
The Vulcan High command for instance costs 1000 to build and pays out 10 per 8 hours. So even at 100% collection efficiency it will take 800 hours to break even which is 33 days! So pretty much anyone who has bought this (probably most people as it is required for a quest line) will never see a profit from the building.
The other thing to bear in mind is that there is still a bunch of stuff to come in the last week which will probably require crystals too so unless there is going to be a way of generating crystals in large amounts most people are going to struggle to get all of the stuff from this week let alone next week.

The rooms are all listed in another location on the site already in detail. In order to keep this post from being any longer… I kept details to a minimum. Didn’t want it to turn into a book. 😉
Most of these items players should already have.
No to mention the overall payout was determined from yesterday forward… so other Dilithium collected over the last weeks prior to this should have already covered the majority of costs and purchases.
