It’s just about time to say goodbye to the lil friends. As the 3PM Pacific Timer is running down in our games, there are a few things you need to keep in mind…
MOBSTERS EVENT ENDS TODAY, JULY 9TH, 2015, @3PM PACIFIC
SPEND ALL EVENT CURRENCY
Event Currency is just that… currency ONLY for an Event. So when the Event goes, the Currency goes with it. So use up all the Gurl Scout Cookies you have left.
There are a LOT of cool looking Decoration options. Whether you want to try your luck in the Cookie Mystery Boxes or just outright purchase the items in the Decorations Tab (like the Bamboo and Cherry Blossom Trees), just use it or lose it when the Event goes.
Side Note: In order to be able to get MORE items, like the Trees and Bamboos, you will need to make sure all you have is IN your Quahog. That means you can’t have any stored away. The game is set up to avoid “accidental” duplicate purchase, so it will pull the items from your Inventory first, then allow you to purchase new ones once the Inventory is empty of that same item. So, if you have 100 Bamboo in storage and want more… you need to take the 100 Bamboo out of the Inventory Storage and place it in your town until you have purchased everything you want. Then you can Store it all again.
COMPLETE CHARACTERS
Any Character not fully unlocked and walking around your Quahog will go away when the Event does. This means for Characters like Diabeto, Jr, Mr Washee Washee, etc. ANY Character that all the items are not acquired for and not completed will all go when the Event Ends at 3PM.
It is at this point you need to ask yourself, is it REALLY worth it to you to spend Clams to complete them and get them into your game? Or will it be better to just let them go? What will you be happy with 3 months from now?
Any Characters/Costumes that you DO have fully unlocked and in your Quahog are yours to keep once the Event ends.
MAKE FINAL PURCHASES
Any Premium items you have been debating on need to be purchased prior to the Event Ending. So if you’ve been holding off on a Building or a Character like Mr. Miyagi, now is the time to make that final decision. What will make YOU happy to have in your town? What won’t matter and you can just let it go?
Any Buildings that you already purchased with Clams or Cookies will be yours to keep after the Event.
FINAL SPIN IN MYSTERY BOXES?
Keep in mind the Mystery Boxes from the Event go with the Event too, so if there was something in there that you had your eye on… make sure you make that final decision of what is worth it to YOU to try for and what can just be let go of.
FINISH QUESTLINES
Majority of the Questlines for the Event go when the Event does. This is mainly due to all the innerworkings of those Questlines require items that are only available within the Event (like Copahavan, Raids, Etc). So there will not be any further progress available for them after the Event.
A few may stick around, but this is usually just the Premium Characters that have an isolated side quest. Like Miyagi. We will know fully what stays once the Event ends.
DON’T WAIT!!
Give yourself enough time to complete all items. Do not put it off until the last minute as there always seems to be a rush in the game last minute and this can cause a lag. So don’t risk falling short on something if you are close. Finish it off or let it go.
MOB REP
If you are giving that final push to get ranked as high as you can, keep in mind that NO ONE will see any of Prizes until sometime next week. NO ONE has a specific date, time, or any further details on them beyond that. So there is no specifics to provide. When we see anything, you will see a post on our site about it.

I was around 65,000 on the leader board this morning. Finally got Conseiala around 4pm edt, but she doesn’t show up. Ended up with 17,556 rep, but says I wasn’t ranked?

Well, I finished with 41,034 mob rep which showed as spot 2,959 just before it made me reload the game and everything went away. Not bad.
Annnnd unfortunately I just read on the Facebook page that the next event starts LATER TODAY. I thought for sure we’d at least get until tomorrow evening before something new hit.

Anymore news on when the grand prize will be given? Did anyone receive theirs? My game is now back to regular after the re-load message, but no mansion in inventory or anywhere else. I’m guessing it will be given when the leaderboard prizes are handed out?

I emailed Timyco and told them that I felt this event was an epic fail. I asked them not to release new content until they can run an event glitch free. Want to know thier response? All I got was one word, “cheers”. How is that for customer service.

Wife chuffed as she managed to get Consuela in that time for a modest sixteen clams boost at Fort Nox.

I’m so angry. I had enough time to get scrotes, tricia, and the 4th challenge. My 4th challenge never dropped. I messaged them and nothing. As for scrotes, I was off by maybe 2 hours of don`s cool down but I had crashing issues that providing that they didn’t happen I would have had enough time to get the last mobster. And finally, tricia. I was gonna collect as much cookies to get the clams price as low as possible. The event ended early on me. So i missed out on a costume, a character, and 2 prizes. Messed up. At least I managed to get cleveland before it ended. There was no way in hell I was able to get bonnie so that was my own fault.

Does anyone know if the game is down? I was away since Friday and I haven’t been able to get into my games for some reason. I’m back now and I an access Tapped Out, but I can’t get into TQFS. I no longer get a connect error, the game just crashes. I have a feeling it is because the event ended. I am sure I will no longer have the bronze Griffin house, I hope to have stayed high enough to get the Don. I will be very upset if I have missed it as I spent quite a bit of money and time and I kept within the boundaries for the Griffin house, it because I have had to miss so much, I may have gone further down than I wanted. I updated this morning so I’m hoping I can’t get on simply because they are sorting out the post event stuff. I certainly hope it’s not another bug/connection problem.

Thank goodness this event is over. I begged them not to extend it because it was a nightmare. That being said, I finished around 24,000th (no clams spent due to the mess). So even with this disaster, I still got a lotta free stuff and am pretty confident I would have been in the top 10,000 if things were going normal and I really tried. Only thing I missed was Tricia and Bonnie (assuming they give me Fight Promoter Cleveland since my gloves reset after the big upgrade) Thank you Bunny and Alissa for the frequent updates. Without them, I would not have continued with this event.

Has the event ended? My timer went to zero but now it keeps saying -29mins. If it hasn’t ended I will be annoyed as I spent all my cookies on mystery boxes when I had 3mins to go. Had I waited, I could have got another golden crane as my characters have just finished their tasks.

Okay I was so close in not getting consuela that I finally did just a few mins ago yay!!! =D Out of all the things to get in this event she is who I wanted the most. Since playing this game for a year at least now everything I have I earned it & have not spent a dime on anything. 1 is I can’t afford to spend money on games & 2 I don’t feel I should be “punished” for not spending money on this game. Sadly tho this game has been what it’s been more so about lately & frankly it not only makes me sad but kinda angry. I feel I am always behind in every event or I don’t get certain things or get a chance in getting with someone who does spend their money. Thankfully I am not the only 1 who doesn’t spend money on games A few friends of mine, my partner, & a few family members don’t at all or just a few times in the beginning. So I am speaking for them as well. I just hope that this game chills out on that issue. Also I really really really hope that they give us more land in every single event or at least every other event. Whats the point in the quest for stuff if we can’t show it off on our land?! Also need to spend more time in making sure things run smoothly before a event comes out more. It seems like every big event we get it gets worse & worse with that. Overall after this rant & today in playing I’m a very happy girl that I finally was able to get consuela working my butt off! =P

Wow! What a challenging event! First time since I started playing over a year ago that I didn’t finish. I did get Peter and lois’s costumes, Cleveland jr, diabeto and washeewashee. Took forever for fight promoter Cleveland. Poor Tricia! I had all her stuff but just didn’t earn enough cookies. Used the rest of my cookies for some neato decos.

Congrats Freefly! I landed up qualifying for the 4th place prize/ Zoot Suit Stewie and the Don. Would have loved to have a new skin for the house as well, but think I did OK, especially considering I was locked out of the game for a few days.

I wasnt going to make Bonnie or Tricia by the end of the event. So i gavebupnand traded for Zoot Stewie and The Don. After a whole day of planning and constructing, I went from 17,000 range three days ago to 12,000, to 11,300, back to 12,000, and ending the event at 9,535. While I will not be qualified for the bronze Griffin, I’m just happy getting Stewie and The Don. I’m very disappointed about Bonnie and Tricia. I was really hoping to get those two. But that’s what you get from a poorly planned event. Still though, better than nothing.

Glad this event is over. The leaderboard is silly. They should have just made most of those prizes premium. I’m a freemium player but how they heck would anyone get i the top 100 without spending clams anyway? I’m curious for those who said they were in the top 100, how many clams did you need to buy to get there? If you have the money to do that, good for you but making it a competition is just a trick for TinyCo. to push people into buying more clams.
Also, the events need to end on time. Stop extending events. These major events are way too long anyway and how would you feel if you thought you were at a certain rank and spent all your cookies on the mystery boxes even though you were close to unlocking an outfit because you thought “hey the event is ending I might as well use all these cookies and then it didn’t end?” That’s exactly what I did. Had they extended the event, I would have been ticked.
I agree that they need to add more Districts and more land and give these events a break. Too much content, not enough space now.
The Mobster event was a cool idea though. I like the individual prizes idea and I also got Conseula and her outfit Kingpin Consuela for free so that was cool though I imagine in the process it may have ticked some people off who paid for her to just get the outfit. Why can’t they added the bronze, silver and gold houses and Don Corleone as additional prizes to that?

If not for the 2weeks of tubagate, and several days of crashing –
I would have done pretty well. Once tubas were a problem, I refocused on getting consuela, and not on everything else. I got her.
My only problem now is I’m qualified for stewie, but I would very much prefer the mansion
Maybe they will say – choose your highest prize, or any ONE thing below it

Either way, I’m not going to open the game for a Month. I will re-evaluate then if the high stress and pressure games are “fun”.
I think they should at least add time for the technical (crashing) issues, challenging drops are fine, but we need to be able to acces it to play.

A number of cool things about this event. A number of frustrations as well.
One thing, however, that is truly unforgivable.
Why didn’t Vinny have anything to do all event? I know he’s a rather late unlock, but the Family Guy folks don’t seem to care as much about that as the Simpsons folks, and this is THE event for him.

Lol. As we write on that game too… I see the same complaints there. Characters left out of an event everyone felt would’ve been perfect. I say it too.
Honestly I think it comes down to the “core characters”… in pretty much all games we see. TSTO and this included. So you rarely see those further down involved too much as it will isolate new players.
He would’ve fit in great, but I see why both EA and TinyCo do it the way they do as I saw in TSTO what happened when a high level character was involved. Players couldn’t progress in the event and were stalled. Essentially locking out a large player base from progressing in the Event. Freemium and Premiums. 😉

That’s why they should be a bit more creative and just have a bonus questline for people who have unlocked certain characters. Or give them a 24hr task that earns event currency so that they feel involved.
I get that new players won’t have access to this stuff but it’s not hard to make it negligible – the real bonus is extra content.

During the Christmas event they had a side quest where Stewie and Carter were involved and both are semi late unlocks. I totally understand why they use a core group of characters but a few side quest or even just a new task for a perfect fit character. They did that with the star trek event, adding some comic-con characters (or something, i dunno, i didn’t have them) to drop stuff. Vinny is my favorite character so that did bum me out a little, but oh well.

Double edge sword. I think it is good to have things for those further along or those that invest in the game, but I also see the negativity from those that want a chance at EVERYTHING no matter what. I personally would have LOVED to see Vinny used more. He needs to be. 😉

Welp. I had 25k cookies and was trying to get the exotic tiger from the perfectly legal box. 12 modest fountains and other prizes later still no tiger… Was so sick of seeing fountain pop up so much lol. Had about 800 cookies left and spent it on asian decos. Used clams to rush goons for the final round to get scrotes. Wasnt even close to completing bonnies costume

As a premium player I have never struggled as bad as I have during an event. I started during Halloween and since I love the Ghostbusters and Horror related items my purchases allowed me to breeze through. Since then I have completed all events with all earn able items.
This event i didn’t. I bought all premium characters except the judge, and I tried to win Brian’s outfit but did not get it. With my job and phone I was able to be accessible to the game at least every hour. With the horrible drop rates, especially on the tuba I was at least a week behind. I did not even get to access the last week since I needed to unlock Lois which I only completed literally and hour ago.
I only had enough cookies to get Trisha or Lois. I already have a bunch of outfits for Lois so decided to get Trisha. Since I spent all my cookies on Trish I never could of advanced since I needed Lois’s outfit unlocked to move on. It’s not like I could have unlocked Bonnie in an hour unless I payed a lot of claims. I thought of paying for Lois but all items collected except for cookies she was still 594 clams.
As a premium player that struggled so badly, I can’t even imagine how much the free players struggled. Thank you gals for your helpful site. I only hope Tiny Co takes a look at things going forward because this was a terrible experience I do not want to feel again.

I’m so upset, I need 1 hour to get Scrotes, the funny thing is they add clam advancers to most of the game and previous events like boss battles but you can’t skip the time for the Don fight and have litterally an hour to go lol

Me too. Only 3 more yakuza goons with 19 hrs on the dons timer an i would have gotten scrotes. Very disappointing event. And 600k rep for the top players is highly unbelievable.

I wish that winning on the leadership board would also include the items from lower levels too. I wanted some of them too, but would had to stop playing to drop back to those level. Too bad the winning didn’t include the previous levels plus the level you win at

Hi. 8heroes have been unable to launch the game on my kindle for about 5 hours. I was going to make my last minute purchases and use up my cookies, but the game shuts down. I can not send an in-game message to tech support since it won’t launch. It tries to load, gets about 75%, hangs, then closes. Please help…..

Luckily I got all the characters and skins before the game stopped working for me. 3 days ago I was around position 1800 on the leaderboard, I just hope I’m still in the top 5000 when it ends. Mainly though I hope I can get back into the game when the event ends as I’ve got a lot of clams in limbo.

So if I have a little over 8k worth of cookies left (already got Bonnie, but sadly, no Tricia). If I want to try to bump myself up into the next leaderboard category, what is the best value (fedoras earned per cookie spent) through buying decorations?
I’m trying to decide whether I think I can get myself up one more reward level in the last hour of the event, or if it’s not practical, then to just open the boxes 8 times and see what I get (including possibly fedoras).

I’m glad this event is ending, I hated it. Worst event yet. I knew people were complaining last event and we even got an extendion due to it being too overhelming. I have no idea where they got the idea that players would want an harder event than that, even when they saw the amount of complaints it brang in. Star Trek event wasn’t that bad, I got everything done and had to only make one premium purchase. I hope Tinyco has learned from their mistakes and will go back to fun events, like last year’s comic con. Talking about that, will there be a comic con event this year? I’d really hope to see more celebrities, like for example: Andrew Lincoln, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Dean Norris and many more. Also, after everything we didn’t get a chance to get the convention centre last year, so fingers crossed for this year. And please Tinyco, make it enjoyable as last year, not the abomination past few events have been.

Really wish there was an extension. I’m all for new content if it is realistically attainable to all. Of course have special premium content for purchase like Mike Tyson to make money.
My reply from them for no extension, “we have new content planned”. I was a frequent clam player and they always listened to the players, that had slowly changed in my opinion. Reluctantly I think it’s time to go completely freemium here.

If you have Scrote, his 1 hour task gives 25 cookies and is only 2 clams to rush. Might be an option if your close to your goal.

I love the giant lotus blossoms as well! I like when you click on them (and the cherry trees), the color kind of undulates. I’ve managed to be hypnotized clicking the blossoms and trees over and over. I also think there was a ton of creative work that went into this event – there are some really nice-looking buildings, and those showgirls are gorgeous. I do want to give them credit for base entertainment value and creativity, I just reeeeeeally think they need better testing practices. It doesn’t even need to cost them money (salaries) – a lot of smaller tech companies use crowd-sourcing and unpaid UI testers these days. **off to buy more cherry trees and watch for that last-needed golden truck** Thanks for the reminder on what we love about this game. 🙂

I agree, I love the bamboo and cherry trees, but for me, I also got a bunch of the hedges, not for the rep, but because I do not like the roads, so I use things like the hedges, pipelines, and alien shrubbery to make divide neighborhoods and create pathways.
One of the best things about this event ending is no more cookie trucks or gurl scouts!!

I finally reached the start of the week 5 questline this (Thursday) morning, putting me solidly a week behind the main event questlines for at least the past three. Thanks, Cleveland Jr.
I’m happy enough with my world leaderboard standing. Not even upset that I paid for Consuela when others earning Kingpin Consuela got Consuela for free. But this is the first event since Kingdom of the Full Moon where I didn’t come away from it with all the freemium characters and skins despite all the time spent in-game.
I’ve given up on hiring more goons, as Fort Nox won’t be back before the event ends (SIXTEEN hours? Really, TinyCo?) and there’s no point in hitting Don Corleone as I don’t have enough time for him to reach level five, so no Scrotes McGrotes and no 35-clam bonus either. I ended up with just over half the (insane amount of) cookies needed for Gangster School Girl Tricia, so, nope. Mob Wife Bonnie is a non-starter. The rest of my cookies are going on soon-to-be-useless buildings, as I’m not even keen on the Mystery Boxes this time around.
It’s clear that TinyCo learned nothing from the Star Trek event, where many players also struggled to collect event currency. By far the biggest mistake TinyCo made with this event, above everything else, was to stop paying out cookies for raids on trucks/couriers etc. If they still dropped cookies, I might just be singing TinyCo’s praises right now.
Much respect to Bunny and Alissa for providing their support where TinyCo won’t, even if it’s just as a sounding board. Onward.

For me, I think if the glitches didn’t hit… this would have gone a LOT smoother. The Goons needed to be adjusted a bit still (maybe like 5-10 min spawns)… but it was a better idea in concept.

I think you’re right Bunny, we’ve kind of lost the appreciation of the concept and ideas in all our glitch angst. When I look at some the buildings I got for cookies they really are lovely, and the cherry blossom trees are a nice addition. Maybe once the event is over and we chill out we will see these things in a different light. And I’m hopeful TinyCo will acknowledge things went wrong. Maybe in a way their commendable stance in trying to keep the game operating on older devices and lots of operating systems is starting to cause them issues and they might have to make some changes. I really don’t know but hopefully the next event sees us all having fun again.

They got it right with the Firefighter event, where just about everything was an “always” drop and you got tons of “seed” extinguisher drops.
Where they got it wrong with this event was, again, the drops: not just the time needed for tasks to drop goon-creating materials, but the number of goons needed for each individual raid, the infrequency of drops from said, the in some cases insane number of goons needed for the main questline and “star” raids, and the lack of base currency drops from individual raids.
If I could have changed three things about this event, then more characters – both “primary” and core premium characters – would have had cookie task payouts from the outset, individual raids on trucks, gurl scouts and couriers would always have dropped cookies, and the RVs would not just increase goon capacity but spawning capacity as well (i.e. two RVs = spawn two goons concurrently, three = three, etc).

What would have made creating goons better was not needing 2-3 to take down Girl Scouts, etc. Having to waste 2+ hours to take one down for hopefully a tuba, shirt and then removing Cookies made creating them a chore more than an accomplishment.

I think shorter spawn time on them and increased queue would have changed the dynamic drastically. Same concept… better execution. I liked the “idea” of it. I prefer to keep my characters free to do other things like questlines and the Goons to do the “work”. Some tweaking and it would’ve been great. But alas… I’m not making the game. Lol
