Family Guy Addicts 
A short time ago I got an email from TinyCo stating they just pushed a fix for the android lockout issue, and wanted me to try loading the game again. Guess what? It took a week, but IT FINALLY WORKED! It sucks I missed out on most of the Magic Mike stuff with less than a day left. I’ll just buy Magic Mike & build whatever buildings I can before its over. Hopefully nothing like this will EVER happen again. I was so ready to delete the game & be done. Hopefully TinyCo can do something for us androidians that were locked out for so long, but in the meantime I’m happy to just be playing again. Thanks for trying to keep us from going crazy! Patients, patients… LOL

Spoke too soon, I just signed on to do a little decorating between calls, and Don Corleone was in my town along with a task? Original Gangster Pt. 1 – Have Don Corleone Get Shoes Shined and have Peter Dance the Shipoopi. Because it says Pt. 1. I am assuming there is more than one part to the line?
I hope this is something separate from the leadership board prize, because I don’t even remember a prize category that was only the Don. Maybe this is their way of compensating for all the issues in the Mobster event, and everyone gets a Don??

I deleted this game in December, before the Christmas event ended. Now I’m unlocking Olivia – and boy, I missed A LOT. I am so surprised at how long it takes to get the plutonium – but I don’t mind. I love having the Magic Mike event to distract me while I wait for the characters to drop them.. Hehe

For the first time since I started playing this game, I have absolutely zero tasks to perform. I finished off the Brewery, oh the brewery (heavy sigh), and just finished the Old Balls quest, and now there is nothing for me to do in my game but nuke it and re-decorate! Yay!!

Is it a bit strange that Tiny Co has still not handed out the leader board prizes for the last Mob/Cookie event? I’m starting to speculate that they had a cheating issue and are trying to decide where to start cutting off people who used some exploits or whatever? Something is going on over there about the leader board list not being Kosher as is to hand out prizes….

I just had something called’consuela’s vacuum’. It’s collected rent from a minimum of 10 buildings at once. Pretty cool!

I love the new Consuela vacuum cleaner. Now instead of clicking every building just one push of a button and you can collect almost all your rent. That feature is amazing…

Could someone explain how/why this is supposedly an Android issue? Both of my Android devices have been running the same version of the OS since I bought them. For that matter, I researched the possibility of updating the version of Android on my tablet months ago…only to find out that the company that produced my tablet doesn’t offer an update/upgrade. Please pardon my ignorance (if there’s something I’m missing here), but if my version of Android is the same as it’s always been, then why would my game crash on the loading screen NOW…..for apparently no reason? Frankly, if I were to wager a guess, I would say that a game file is corrupt and that’s what crashes the game. Logging in with an IOS device may just set that file straight so the issue on Android simply goes away. Regardless, I am just curious as to the basis for the statement that it’s an Android programming issue and why/how it’s not the game itself? Incidentally, all other apps/games work fine on my Android devices.

A lot of times, there are updates within the Android OS you may not even notice hit. Either way… since it is ONLY plaguing Android, not able to be recreated in house no matter HOW many times they tried (and oh how many thousands of times and ways they tried)… to me that says there is something within Android …only certain ones…that is incompatible with something in the game. Now… needle in the haystack to track down WHAT and WHERE.
We have seen this as well in the OTHER game we write on. The Harp of Death. All of the sudden… specific device… completely locked out. No rhyme or reason to it. Only way around it is to use the OPPOSITE brand device to log in, collect, and exit. Than going back to the main device… game works. It has got to the point there that at times even that work around didn’t help and EA had to completely rebuild a Players game from scratch. They still to this day can’t figure out why the Harp of Death hits.

Thank you for the explanation Bunny! That helps quite a bit in my understanding of this mess. I do, however, wish TinyCo was a little more forthcoming with information like this. It seems MANY people are upset simply as a result of TinyCo’s silence throughout this process. I know a company can only do so much at one time, but greater transparency could really go a long way in this case.

I honestly wonder if they wanted to wait until THEY could figure out what it was before announcing. I am seeing a bit more response on their Facebook now though. Mainly that they are working on it and for Players to message in. I know this one has everybody on edge. Sadly, there are legalities in companies that many times keep their hands and mouths tied up for legal purposes. I get that. But I also see OUR side, the Player side… we just want some kind of response back. Even if it is just “working on it”.
Just know that at least we Addicts will not back down until all options are exhausted. We are doing all we can do to send data to them to hopefully help. I may seem cute n fluffy but I can pull out the fangs n claws when needed. 😉

I just got an E-mail response from TinyCo about an hour ago stating that they have pushed a fix and to try logging into the game. (It also said to restart my device if it didn’t work) I tried loading the game….and IT WORKED!!!! 🙂 However, there was no mention of any kind of of compensation for those of us who spent money on the event we couldn’t finish. (Have you heard anything in regards to this?)
In any case, I’m VERY glad to have access to my game once again! Also, thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions!! Keep up the great work!

As they JUST pushed the patch. No. I am waiting to see how many are still out first. My suggestion… give it just a bit, then reach out to them personally from your in game messaging. Remember… kindness goes a long way. 🙂

Bunny will you please explain how the issue can be within Android not TinyCo’s game app?
Clearly I don’t know the facts but I do know that when I download the FG game app on my Android I can play as long as I want as a “Guest” however when I input my FG account information it crashes instantly then won’t completely reload. Same situation and result when using an iOS device (not iOS 9).
I’m usually pretty bright but I am not comprehending this, if it was indeed an Android issue how am I able to download the app and play the game as a guest in my Android?

Similar to iOS 9… there was a change within Android that is now no longer compatible with an aspect of their game. So it’s something they’ve got to see an impacted Android device in person to gather the crash log and pinpoint where in there it is to create a patch to get around it. If it was just their game, they’d be able to recreate it in house and make a patch as its their coding and easy to track (like Friday’s hiccup).
Don’t know why your iOS won’t work. All mine not on iOS 9 are running fine. It’s how I unlocked my Android device. Used the iOS I have to bypass that “catch” in Android and get my game back. Alissa too.
There is something similar to this exact same scenario on TSTO. We call it the “Harp of Death” over there. Hit players hard in the first year of the game (oddly enough, Android users were shut out of TSTO for 3 months too). It comes back now and then. Only way to bypass it is to open the game on the opposite brand device too.
As far as playing a new game… well… that’s because it’s new. So it doesn’t have months of game play and coding on it. So nothing to be incompatible with from the OS.

My fatfather mansion has all of a sudden become half invisible. Anyone else experiencing this or am I the only lucky one. Also any ideas on how to fix?

Lol. HALF? So it is a Mc McMansion? Give it a bit. It may be a rendering issue. Especially if your town is loaded. You can also try to store and replace it to see if that helps. Otherwise… they usually finish and work themselves out. If not, please do report it. 😉

Nope, and I think they took my note to them too literally. I told them that it was disappointing that the Mansion was not animated, so they added the animations, but now that is all you get, the animated parts! *chuckle*

I am having the same issue – I tried storing it in inventory and then placing it again but it remains half invisible ( I don’t think the number of buildings & decos in my town is an issue as I put 90% of them in storage this weekend). I’m just going to leave it for now and if it doesn’t fix itself – do as Bunny suggested and report it.

Seems like I’m not the only one! Also appeared on my iPad as well as iPhone so it seems to be an issue in their end. Possibly what someone above me said they added animations and it screwed up.

On the other hand I have one of the new buildings (surf shop from the mystery box) that only loads properly when turned sideways. Otherwise it’s a blank brown space with two small cogs. Tried everything from deleting the app entirely and re installing to exiting out to storing the item and everything I could think of. Emailed TinyCo but any suggestions would help

Rendering. I get that when my town gets really full. I usually wait a couple minutes and they eventually turn from the cogwheels to normal items. Same troubleshooting I use for Crashing and Lagging can help at times.

The building is a basic image and the Animation “lays over the top” of the building… so… we are basically seeing the “overlay”. Lol

The mob game ended on July 9th, they posted on Facebook if you are playing on an android device they are experiencing technical issues. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game and it is still having some issues and there new game now is Magic Mike.

Ladies, is the “Unfortunately, FGTQFS has stopped working” during startup going to be fixed? The same issue that struck my game and many others during the end of Mobsters. I’ve sent messages. I posted the details on this site. I still keep getting booted during load up. I have the most current update. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. Did I miss something? Any suggestions? Thanks!

They are working on trying to find out the cause in the Android devices that is causing the interference with their game. Hopefully soon. They won’t give up on it til it is fixed.

They put up pop ups in the game as well as noted all around… this week sometime. NO ONE has got them yet. We will post when they start to show up. 😉

Well since I’m not wanted as a gamer for FGQS – my many requests for help (in-game and by email to TinyCo) simply ignored for 3 weeks, not even acknowledged – I’m thinking of giving TSTO a final try.
But the first two times I tried I simply couldn’t get into it. I don’t know if it was the mechanics of the game, or what… maybe I didn’t progress far enough for the fun part but I stopped both times and deleted it.
Bunny/Alissa could you give me a primer on what makes TSTO fun, how it is similar/different from FGQS, they key things to know? Maybe I will give it a shot but it might depend on how much time vs reward is involved.

They are working on the Android Issue. Emails going back and forth between us and them many times daily. To the point they are actually pulling in Players to them so they can see the issue live as NO ONE has been able to recreate it and therefore find a trigger point that is causing Androids issue with their game. I am right there with them on the Players side and I won’t give up keeping at it until it is resolved. Sorry you can’t play. Makes me sad to see that it is impacting people like this.
Difference in the two is… well… TSTO is more “streamlined?” If that is the proper word to use. FGTQFS has “scattered” questlines. They are all over the place and pop up here and there. TSTO is more cut and dry that you follow one for quite some time before triggering another. Similarites in that you collect Characters, Skins, Decorations, and Buildings. Things on both Freemium and Premium side. There is still a “grind” there too in Events (depending on Event on the level of the “grind” if simple or hard) if you want to get everything. So same in that you play as you see fit to get what most entices you. With the recent additions these past few months there is a LOT of land now. There was no new land for almost a year there… but they changed that. To start you will need to get the first few Levels (similar to Districts) and Character/Buildings unlocked.
Overall, I feel more free to design in TSTO than Family Guy. I have more room to move and create. More “lil decorations” to play with in a lot of colors. Unlike the quest for “stuff”, the “stuff” in TSTO doesn’t seem quite as overwhelming. Limited items released each event. Not so many buildings.
Both have their pros and cons. I think you should at least give TSTO a try and see where it takes you. We have a LOT of detailed info there too on the site to help you just like here. Some feel that TSTO is more simplistic. It honestly all comes down to YOUR likes.

FYI – my support issue is not the one you’re currently valiantly battling… I got a new device 3 weeks ago and it doesn’t find my save so I’m stuck at the beginning. Have asked for help, none forthcoming. Anyways I’ve griped on that enough, just letting you know that it’s not the “Android Issue” that is affecting me. 🙂

OOOOOOOoooh. Yah. Those are a bit more tricky to play with. If you didn’t save the game to an email or Facebook… its a matter of finding a needle in a million haystacks. If you have copies of the Opening Splash Screen or even better, the Player ID… they can track it down a lot easier.
Too bad just signing back in and loading the saved game didn’t help. You delay, though not the Android issue… may be held up due to the Android issue and all the back log they are dealing with. Hopefully they will get you squared away soon. 😉

Definitely check out the Addicts site for the Simpsons game, that will show you the graphics and what kinds of things you can do. But just download it and start playing around with it. It’s simpler graphically and activity-wise than the Family Guy game (which so far seems to have more spectacular Stuff(TM)), but if you are familiar with the show you should get a kick out of it. It’s easier to check in only periodically with TSTO without feeling you’re missing something so far, but the only event I’ve experienced is just the Tapball thing that is mind-numbingly simple (although I find myself checking in just to tap the fans so they’ll wave at me before going poof and unloading their stuff. Hmmm, same as tapping on the guys in the Magic Mike event. I must like seeing tiny wandering characters go poof.). I’ve only been playing for a few weeks so my Springfield is rather sparse. I do enjoy sending Bart to school repeatedly (my school runs 24/7, he can’t escape it).
With these games, though, you need to give it a while to appreciate it since they get more interesting as time goes on. I had no idea what was going on with Family guy for the first few days, but just wanted to try to get far enough to see the Enterprise in the Star Trek event. For quite a while I thought I would be collecting beard trimmers for a woozy Riker until the event ended. But now there he is, playing his trombone day after day on my Quahog streets together with Locutus and his Borg Kitten.
I’m not much of a town designer but like to randomly place things wherever they fit, just like in real life. But if Bunny says it’s easier to design Springfield than Quahog, I would assume that’s true. So if you’re into town design, that would be a plus for Springfield.

He is a great guy. The artwork is technically “Ours” which is why I believe no signature. Long story short… it is a collaboration. But don’t worry, we do take very good care of him and he uses the Addicts artwork for show to other Clients. 😉

Did anyone manage to complete the story in the mobster event? I did very poorly not even making it to the final weeks, I got as far as unlocking Yakuza van attacks did not get the detective, the mob wifes or Trish. Just wondering what happened with other people?
I think this event had some good ideas but was one of the most poorly planed, most of the mob stuff was locked away as prizes(Zoot suit Stewie, Don Corleone, Scarface Consuela) meaning that apart from gangster Peter most of the event unlockables were random and had little to do with the central theme. These events really need to move away from this either or approach, meaning that either you try to progress in the story spending lots on every new building/deco or save up stupid amounts so that you can get characters/skins(Trish). I like the obstacle course idea even thought it made my game crash like crazy, but hope never to see the leader board or the other prize thing they had going on.

I just reached 8 million coins collected and was wondering what happens when you reach 10 million coins as it looks like there is only space for seven digits on the coin bar. Has anyone collected more than 10 million coins?
It would be nice if TinyCo had special awards like the bronze, silver and gold Griffin house to give away when players reached certain milestones on coins collected. At least then there would be some point in collecting coins. I keep collecting coins just to see how much I can get.

This recipe isn’t that hard, although there are a lot of steps. It is cheating since it is Ketchup based. I brine the chicken no matter what sauce I use.

Actually, some of the events would make for some truly awesome & hilarious episodes, don’t you think? Like the Ghostbusters event, the mobsters event, or (why haven’t they done this incredible idea yet) the Star Trek event!

not a gripe so not a WTD; I play a Pirate based game from Rovio and love the fact you can spin round the whole island 360º, see your island in full animated or a top down view, I so wish the next FG has this, it also has a transparent policy on finishing builds quickly, you can instantly see how much you have to pay, so I thought of a design-tweek. http://imgur.com/9mVGPUw
They also run a 24hr Rumble which our guild does and pays out 30 Gems for us (we win evri tim), it would be nice to have more Clam wins once in a while other than collecting 5+ chars.
The best thing would be a full activity progress bar in one place where you can see what’s gonna finish next, good for time management like I use the phones timer for stuff on the Plunder game.
BTW, last filum I watched was Interstellar and it was amazing, but I mostly blame the ex and young daughter for making me get addicted to Step up/Burlesque/Street Dance & Coyote Ugly, I cry like a L’il gril. 😛

Just a question for anybody. Does anyone else whenplaying this game , tap on screen to collect a reward and suddenly the screen just scrolls off in a random direction. Just wonderin if its just my tablet.

cheeseisgood, this has been a known problem since the games creation; I think TinyCo expects us to have 1 pixel fingers. You will get used to it and it will be ok…eventually

Wow. I was just thinking today if I was the only one! Glad to see that I am not. I just hate that every once in a while when that happens and I am tapping so fast that I miss and tap to speed things up (ie spend clams that I don’t intend on spending).

Got the chance to go to the Looking Glass Waterfalls in NC to relax and beat the heat for a couple of hours with our two dogs. There was a wedding there, too. Such a romantic place for it!

So happy! .. I’m back in the game! .. Something you said, Bunny, made me think… 🙂
.. If the issue is maybe with android, a system developed by Google, then it maybe makes sense that attempting the beta version of FGQFS with the Firefox browser on my PC might not work .. But Chrome! .. Yep! .. Using Google Chrome worked like a charm .. Got in immediately! .. Did all my checks, removed some mobster decos and buildings and exited. .. And the game loaded in my android device with no hesitation at all!

How do I get access to the beta version?

Using my pc and Chrome as my browser, I just went to my FB acct. There is a beta version of FGQFS along with all the other FBGames .. Just search for it. 🙂 .. If it loads your game for you, play it a bit, maybe store some stuff and then exit. Then try loading your game on your android device ..
The FB beta version has been noted several times here on Addicts .. 🙂 .. But I couldn’t get the game to load on my PC unless I used Chrome as the browser.
