Hey there Tribblemakers!
TinyCo dropped a Hybrid Puppy Mini Event into our game and now we have lil Hybrid Babies running loose in our Quahogs.
With the Half Stewie/ Half Brian Babies running around, we also had some New Character/Costumes join our game. Like Chip Griffin.
Let’s take a look at what Chip Griffin can do in our silly lil games.
Chip Griffin was a New Character added at the beginning of the Hybrid Babies Event 2015. As with (almost) all Characters in TQFS in order to unlock him you’ll have to collect lots of STUFF.
You first had to purchase his Tiny Tennis Court ($2000) and place it in town to start collecting stuff.
Requires:
8 Dingo Collars (Extra Rare): Brian Do the Scoot OR Clear Blind Hybrid Baby OR Clear Hybrid Baby
20 Blue Tennis Rackets (Common): Joe Patrol the School OR Chris Fat Kid Hula Hoop OR Chip’s Tiny Tennis Court
5 Cold Cuts (Uncommon): Peter Overeat OR Last Chance Animal Shelter
4 Red Balloons (Rare): Jerome Be a Superior Athlete OR Quagmire Feed the Puppies OR Chip’s House
90 Tennis Ball Chew Toys (Always): Clear Hybrid Babies OR Clear Blind Hybrid Babies
He does come with a Questline, Chip On Your Shoulder, more on it in another post.
Chip Griffin does come with a complete set of Tasks! Tasks that will help you earn $$$ & XP.

No red balloons for 2 days, quagmire and jerome need a break so I’ve tried doing other things. Returned to chips tasks last night, and still no balloons.

I had all the dingo collars and tennis balls now I’m starting from scratch for Chip Griffin! I’ve sent message to Tiny Co and everything! Please help anyone else having this issue!

Yours in only report. Try to restart your device and see if that helps. Otherwise contacting them was the best thing.

Did both no change and no reply from Tiny Co as of right now. So frustrated saw one other comment with same issue.

Give them time to respond. It won’t be instant. They’re a tiny company and its all done in house. Not outsourced to scripted call center agents all over the world like bigger gaming houses do. So patience. They’ll get back to you.

Side question…did you happen to use either for Finn (he needs them both too)? If you tapped on his check marks… it would have took them. So check Finn to see if you used them for Finn. If you don’t see any needed for Finn… you used them.
Also some decos were tennis balls. Like Billboard. If you got one… you used those Tennis balls.

I actually used them for Chip tapped the check marks for both items and they dissappear then next day back but starting with zero. Still heard no reply from Tiny Co. Been 36 hrs.

I have all the items I need for Chip, except the Balloons wont drop, I have only gotten one so far. My wife finished 24 hours ago, very annoyed.

I have everything I need except balloons. I have 0. Yet TinyCo says the drops are as intended. Really? I got 8 extra rare dingo collars before I got even ONE rare balloon.

And you get 4 chances at collars every 2 hrs vs 2 chances every 8hrs. So yes… better odds as you do MORE in same time 😉

I have been doing the quests for Jerome and Quagmire since this little event started and I have yet to get one balloon to drop. I have all the other items for Chip, but these balloons are going to kill me.
C’mon TinyCo….where is the option for Mayor West and his balloons to drop a balloon? Seems like another ball dropped in favor of TinyCo!

No balloons in over two days. 14 attempts and nada… It’s like tubas all over again. I know they don’t want us to rush and have nothing to do, but that certainly is not my definition of a rare item unless tied to a district.

Is it just me or are the puppies few and far between? I get the every two hour cycle but when they do show it is only 4 … 5 if i am lucky. I keep my game open all day & am pretty good at keeping things moving along (i have been playing for a month & just hit level 34 / district 8 …. even with all the events). At this puppy rate it will take days yet to unlock chip.

Have everything for chip except the balloons. I’m not superstitious or anything, but I guess I’ll start playing that song “99 red balloons” right before loading the game to see if that helps. ;P

If they had any of Chip’s tasks linked to his house, I’d buy it. That would be a good benefit for those willing to spend clams.

TinyCo just added this nice little feature to notify you when you have enough of an item to unlock characters by having the lock balloon bounce up and down.
I currently down to only needing 1 Balloon and 1 Collar to get Chip.

I unlocked him about an hour ago and didn’t use any clams either. The Dingo collars I was lucky on I would get 3 in a row a few times then I got 2 singles show up at different times.

Is anyone getting Dingo Collars from clearing Hybrid Babies? Mine only drop Tennis Balls. Currently, I have 0/8 Dingo Collars (and Brian can’t help since I JUST unlocked him and his Scoot action requires Level 8). Everyone seems to have trouble with the Balloons but for me it is the dreaded Dingo!

Got the Dingo collars relatively quick, it depends on the Drop rate and other factors too I’m guessing, just need some more tennis rackets now! Good Luck!

Spent the 30 clams on the baby maker for the tennis balls, figuring “How hard can 4 balloons be?” 100 tennis balls so far. No balloons.

Lol. You kind of answered you own pondering there. With LOTS of Hybrid Babies running loose… you can easily have a thousand “chances” to get items in a very very short time. With there only being 2 Characters tasks every 8 hrs for balloons (unless you buy Chip’s), your odds are going to take a “lil bit longer”. 😉

Just got Chip. Needed those last 2 Tennis Balls. Kinda glad he’s going to be a 24 hourer. His voice just bugs me. Love the character, despise the voice. 😛

Ditto. I lost count of my attempts over the past few days, and not one drop. I don’t feel he’s worth the 100 clams and his tiny house isn’t worth 80 clams to get the always drops. Hopefully, 4 balloons will drop over the next 8.5 days between Quaggy and Jerome. This game is too much fun for it not to happen, so I’m remaining optimistic!

According to support, the red balloon rate is working as designed.
I can state that I have 2 games which each have 1 balloon each, so since chip dropped that would be some 30 attempts. At least there are 7 days to go, which was pretty much supports response…
