Where The Hell…? Chip Griffin

In this lil game of ours, it is easy to get lost and so focused into collecting items or unlocking characters that we tend to forget the lil things that make the game what it is. Like Where the HELL did these items come from and why are they in our games?

Well I am here to do just that for you. Let’s take a look at the Family Guy Series and find out just Where The HELL Did That Come From?
Chip Happy

In this post, I will be covering the Origin of the Chip Griffin. What is with the Mini Peter? Why is he so Tiny? Where did he come from? Let’s take a look at the TV Episodes to find out.

Season 12, Episode 2: Vestigial Peter
After arguing with Lois about his clothing for Church, Peter is dragged to the Mall by Lois to find some new clothes. While trying on a shirt in one of the stores, Peter realizes he can’t button it all the way up. The Sales Associate points out that it may be due to the HUGE lump on his neck. Peter has no idea how long he’s had it for and Lois insists they go immediately to Dr. Hartman.

At the Hospital, Dr. Hartman examines Peter and lets him know that he has a Subcutaneous Vestigial Twin growing on his neck. It is a Twin that didn’t quite completely grow but is still attached and feeding off Peter’s body. Dr. Hartman makes an incision to check it out… and out pops Chip Griffin. I guess he was more fully formed than they thought.

Peter heads home to tell the Family about Chip. They don’t quite take it the way he thought. Chris is thoroughly freaked out by it in fact. Stewie doesn’t want him anywhere near him. Chip still keeps happy. He wants to see and learn all he can.

Peter takes him camping and sits by the fire singing Folk Songs with him. A Bear even joins in. Chip still wants to do so much more, Peter… just wants to lay on the couch and eat cold cuts off his belly. Chip’s upbeat attitude and looking at the world with brand new eyes is really becoming a damper on Peter. He just doesn’t seem to care the same as Chip for every lil thing going on.

At his next appointment, Peter asks Dr. Hartman if there is anyway he can get Chip removed from him. Dr. Hartman explains they are using the same organs and it is a very dangerous surgery involved. Peter doesn’t care if he does. He has to do the surgery.

The surgery is a success. Chip and Peter are now separate people. Chip is now free to explore the world and do anything he wants. No matter where he wants to go, Peter will even pay to FedEx him. But Lois and the family seem a lil attached.

Back at the Griffin’s, Chip is really becoming a part of the Family… and Peter is not happy. He redecorated the front room and got rid of the drapes… to make clothes for the kids “Sound of Music” style. Peter just can’t see what is so special about Chip. Lois reminds him that Chip is Peter… when he was younger and full of life. Chip Griffin 5

Peter still is not happy with Chip. To make matters worse, Peter catches them singing the “Family Guy” Song without him. Chip taking HIS part. He runs off crying. Chip is making his life a living hell. He can’t take it anymore. He has to come up with a way to get rid of him.

He starts by bringing in a Dingo to go after Chip, but fails miserably at the plan. Stewie walks in at the wrong time and the Dingo runs off with the baby… errr… Stewie. Chip is on to him and asks Peter why. Peter tells him it is because his life was fine before Chip. His Family liked him and he never felt bad about doing new stuff. Chip tells him he never asked him and his life was better before too. Peter is a rotten Brother, Father, and he can go to hell.

Peter announces to the Family that he throw Chip out. The Family is not happy about this. He is too little. He can get lost or hurt out there. They have to go look for him. Peter doesn’t care. They can go look for Chip. He has stuff to do. But while the Family is gone, Peter went into the basement to get more beer and took a tumble. He lies at the bottom of the stairs with his leg broke crying for help. Luckily Chip just happens to show up back at the Griffin House. He rushes to help Peter. He sets the broken leg and makes a splint for it using a Blue Tennis Racket and some rope. He then drags Peter up the stairs and gets him to the Hospital.

At the Hospital, Dr. Hartman explains to Peter just how lucky he is that Chip showed up when he did. He could have lost his leg. Peter realizes just how important Chip is and thanks him for saving him. Lois was right, he is special. He forgot there was a whole world out there he forgot to experience. Chip is a part of the Family.

Chip explained that he appreciates it, but he wants to experience the world out there. So, the Family ties him up to a Red Balloon and sets him off to explore the world… where he becomes the new, young, and funny kid on ABC’s The Middle.

There you have it, a “growth” on Peter now becomes a cute lil New Character in our Quahogs. Did you remember this episode? What do you think of Chip? Recognize all the Voice Clips from the Episode now in the game? How about the items you had to collect for him? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. Coincidence? TBS is airing “Vestigial Peter” right now.

  2. Interesting that they would add Chip now during this event. Peter shall call him “mini-me”. 😉

    • I just figured out a connection – Chip, Stewie, and Brian are all voiced by the same guy (Seth)…. Of course, Chip is Peter on helium, more or less. He really is annoying, although fun to watch traveling by balloon throughout town.
