Road To The North Pole 101: Humma & Blocko Hovercraft Battles

Hey there Elves!

With Phase 2 Live now and running in our silly lil games, I wanted to take a few moments and reflect on the now TWO main points of interest in the game that you will want to pay attention to. The Humma & Blocko Hovercraft Battles.

These will be a good source of Magic Hats & Toy Cars that you will need to get Presents for the items in Santa’s Headquarters.

Blocko Hovercraft Humma

Let’s take a peak at the Battles and all that goes into them.

Santa's Village District

HUMMA/ SANTA’S VILLAGE BATTLES

Humma Hangar

The Holiday Humma Hangar can be built once you reach Raid to the North Pole Part 6.  This will be used to destroy things in Battle. The Holiday Humma can be upgraded using Lights. You can find the Holiday Humma Hangar in your Shopping Cart Menu for $1000. You will also need to have unlocked Santa’s Village in the North Pole Play Area. This is where the Humma Battles will take place.

HUMMA LEVELS

Holiday Humma Pop Up

Once you place the Humma Hangar into your game, you can tap on the Humma Hangar to see what current “Level” your Humma is on, how many Lights “You Have” currently, and how many Lights “Needed for Next Level”.

If you have Lights to use to Upgrade the Humma Level, you will see the option to “Upgrade” in Green at a pace of one at a time. Just keep tapping the Green “Upgrade” until your Humma goes to the Level you want it. When you no longer have enough Lights to Upgrade, the button will switch out to a Yellow “Upgrade Now”. Tapping on it will tell you the Clam amount it will cost to Upgrade instead.

Leveling up your Humma can be useful as it makes it stronger and stronger and stronger. This will help you defeat the Buildings in Santa’s Village and get better Prizes as the Buildings increase their strength too.

HOW DO I START A HUMMA BATTLE?

Santa's Village

Just tap on the ! on the Building in Santa’s Village. The Pop Up screen will show you what 3 Characters you can use for a “Driver” during the Battles, the current Strength of the Humma, How many Buildings the Characters & Humma Level combination “Can Destroy”, the Payout “Reward”for the destruction, and the amount of Unleaded Egg Nog you will need for the Battle.

Just tap on an image of the possible 3 Characters that YOU currently own to put a check mark on their picture and place them in one of the Driver’s seat, then start the Battle.

  • If it says “Select Driver” next to the Eggnog, you need to Select a Character to Drive by tapping on their photo

  • If it says “Attack” Next to the Eggnog, just tap on “Attack” and the Characters Selected will start the Battle in the Humma in Santa’s Village.

WHY DID THE BUILDING CHANGE COLORS?

You Took Down Santa's Village

The Buildings in Santa’s Village will increase in their Strength each time you take out and Destroy all 3 of them. You will need to Upgrade your Humma in order to counteract this Upgrade and still be able to defeat the Village Buildings. You will see them Change in the following colors.

WHY ARE THERE CHECK MARKS OR X’S ON THE BUILDINGS?

This means they are Destroyed (Check Mark) during the Battle. If you are battling 3, wait til you see 3 of them Checked off before trying to tap on them and collect the Rewards. ***Don’t confuse this with the X on the Humma at the end of the Battle when it is done with the 4hr Task.

You will also know the buildings are destroyed as you will see them appear destroyed.

Broken Toy Camp

BLOCKO HOVERCRAFT/MISFIT TOY BATTLES

Blocko Hovercraft Hangar

You will unlock the Broken Toy Camp during Elf Empire Strikes Back Pt. 2. This is where the Misfit Toy Battles will take place. As you continue through the Questline, you will be asked to get the Blocko Hovercraft Hangar from Santa HQ first for 50 Presents and place it in the North Pole Play Area (I put mine next to the Broken Toy Camp). Once placed you just tap on the Hangar and you will see what it will take to Upgrade your Blocko Hovercraft. Tap on the Encampment for the info on a “Misfit Toy Battle”.

WHY DIDN’T THE IGLOOS CHANGE?

You Took Down Broken Toy Camp

For the Level Ups of the Igloos, the Change is not really Noticeable… but there is one. Decorations are added to the Igloo’s Exterior. They still resemble Igloos, so watch for the Upgrade Screen to know when you have moved on to the next Level Igloo and watch for the additional Decorations Outside. Remember 4 Destroyed (all of them) will cause them to Level Up.

WHY CAN’T I USE A CHARACTER?

There will be two reasons you can’t use a Character for either one of the Battles.

1- They are busy doing another Task (Usually darkened Out). Characters can only perform one Task at a time. Wait for them to finish to be able to use them.

2- You do not have the Character in your game (Usually Lock Symbol). Only Characters you currently own and are live in your game and free can be used.

WHY IS MY CHARACTER ROAMING FREE FROM BATTLE?

There is on ongoing issue I keep seeing with the Battles. I have already reported this, but please report it directly from your game if you run into it.

If there is a ! over the Humma Hangar or you try to trigger a task for a Character on the Battle by tapping on “GO” from the Task, it may kick the Character off the Humma Battle. This can impact your payout, so be careful. Like I stated, report it from your in game messaging if this happens.

There you have it. The Basics of the Humma and Hovercraft Battles in the games that will get you items to help get Materials for the Santa Supply Depot Present Exchange.

Where are you so far on your Humma and Hovercraft Levels? How about the Buildings and Igloos? How are your payouts coming along? Feel free to share any Payout stats I did not list in the comments below. Let us know.

  1. I’m on level 10 of the humma battles & it started forcing me to use 2 drivers to get a reward. I was curious if and/or when it may force me to use 3 drivers (as I blew off lyle)?. Also at what level it may force me to use 2 drivers for the hovercraft battles? &, I suppose, same question for pt 3?
    Thank you bunny:)

  2. Hi! I know I had read your article about the humma attacks, but I came back to dbl check. Anyhoo, I did a battle with Santa & Peter & got no payout. I reported it to tiny Co like you said & there reply was that you don’t always get a payout. On some levels you need to have all 3 or atleast 2 characters to get any payout. So, in this instance if you don’t have all 3 it’s a waste of time & eggnog with no payout. So Meh lol I was just surprised by the response bc if what you had posted.

  3. Anyone else get double the payouts with the Hovercraft? Prior to yesterday, at Level 7 with two people attacking I was getting 28 cars. Must have been a glitch and would go a long way in explaining why I was racking up so many presents. Now it’s back to same as chart above.

  4. Is it possible to have only 1 driver in the Humma battle and it will attack zero buildings with zero payout?

I don’t know if it’s supposed to be that way or it’s a glitch. I have Lyle as well so I have 3 possible drivers.

  5. I can confirm getting kicked out of hummer battles when a task or quest line gets triggered.
Keeps happening to me and I am at a stage where I need all three characters on the hummer to get a payout.
So, I keep losing out on payouts, but I also can’t send out a hovercraft attack because all of my characters were on the hummer. I can’t upgrade because of not getting a payout. Etc…
So, I have been caught in limbo for past 24 hours going nowhere.
I’m trying to earn enough to get the station so I can then move on to the building to unlock Sarah Connor.

    Very frustrating.

  7. I haven’t had any trouble collecting from one destroyed building while the vehicle is shooting at another one. For the Humma, I just get the bulk of the rewards from the first building and the rest from the second. They add up to the expected amount. So I can scurry off to exchange for presents to buy stuff when I’m close to getting the next thing on the list before the battle is complete. Usually the second building takes about an hour or maybe 1.5 hours, although the total time is four hours.

I appear to have a weird issue with the timer. Started a hovercraft battle around 2/half 2 I think. Have been out rest of the day until now (just gone 11). The time on the battle shows 33 mins remaining…) very strange!

  9. I am getting so beyond frustrated with this event. I have put Lyle and Santa in the Humma to do a battle and this is the third time that Santa has been kicked out by placing something that puts an ! above Santa, clicking on an ! above the humma, or something similar. The vehicle can no longer kill the building and I am not getting anything to level up my Humma. I have messaged TinyCo 3 times about this and still no reply. I was at about 2000th place on the leader board and now I don’t even qualify. This is getting ridiculous.

Rant over, but really Bunny you are amazing and thanks for all the great work.

    • Just an FYI… There is an update 1.15.5 coming up that will fix the drop out of Humma Battle issue. 🙂

For the future, please try to keep the rants on the WTD posts.

  11. I don’t know whether it is the same for everyone but I think my leaderboard only updates once a day.
Also, I think it is starting to become clear who the people who are spending a lot of money on this game are. There are a few people who are over 700 medals today, when yesterday a number of those people had not even hit the 500 mark yet. To get over 200 presents in one day, those people must be spending a bit on the game. I am not paying too much attention to the leaderboard, as the leaderboards are not something that I personally care about in the game (not when there are this many people on the one). I am really only doing it so I can get the extra hats / cars to exchange for gifts, so it still serves some purpose nevertheless . I also like the fact that if there are a number of people willing to spend big on the game, we may be able to reach the goal for getting the other prizes (maybe even God). 🙂

  14. So what’s the deal with Collective Medal prizes? We’re at 25 million right now. So we should be able to claim the next prize at 8 billion (yes, that’s billion with a “b”) by Xmas time 2026. I sure hope the event runs that long, lol!

    Like

    • If you think about it, total medal numbers will go up exponentially… Because people’s individual medal count also goes up exponentially once they level up their Hummers a few times. We’re already at 35 million so I’m not surprised if we hit the next target of 8 billion at some point early next week. Just be patient and earn a lot of medals 😉

  16. Do you have an update on payouts after levelling the Hummer up to level 10? I have enough lights to do this but I am slightly scared to move away from my guaranteed two yellow building defeat that gives me 18 hats… 😉 I know I’m asking for a lot 🙂

    • I have blown through 12,000 Clams and not even finished with all on Week 2… so for now, this is as far as I will push them. I will try to update more as I progress on them through normal game play, but I need to watch my Clam spending or I will run out too fast then not be able to provide other important stats.

Do any other readers have more stats further up they would like to share?

      Like

      • Wow that’s a lot! What is your leaderboard rank after spending all of that. I’ve spent about a thousand clams so far and am almost about to crack the top 100.

        Like

        • Keep in mind I am not just spending Clams freely like any Player. I am pulling data and stats for the ENTIRE game. Think of how much it cost to buy out every single Character, Premium, and Santa’s HQ item in the game. Then add to that the cost of speeding every Questline. It adds up REALLY fast.

Now if I was just a regular player like you and focused my Clams on ONLY getting Snowflake Medals… that would give me an insane amount. 😉

      • Hi Bunny, I was just curious…did using 12,000 clams get you ranked high enough to qualify for the super robot elf?

      • As far as hummer level I am currently at 12. One character gets you nothing. Two gets you 21 hats 7 medals and 1 light and sending all three gets you 24 hats 8 medals and 2 lights.

  17. I feel as in past events something missing is a counter for egg nog and cider collected. They are so critical for contesting battles, yet you only know if you have enough or not enough. At my stage in the game, top hats are paying out the best so I want to keep Humma battles going. If I knew I was going to be possibly short, I may want to pull Peter off Hovercraft battles and get some egg nog. But without a running tally, I don’t really know. I only know when I run out. It’s too bad they can’t have a page in the event info button that could keep a counter on these items. The counter for silver bells is useless to me; I have over a thousand and nothing currently in the game to spend on them. Could care less how many I have (and any deco you go to purchase tells you anyway). What I really want to know is how many more egg nogs I need to run “X” more battles to collect “Y” more top hats to convert into “Z” more presents.

  21. This was extremely helpful. Very much appreciate you taking the time to put this extensive post together. The trouble I’m having is getting enough materials to do the battles. With Bruce and Bonny needed to unlock characters (12 hours, ouch!) and Lois in just about all parts of the main quest it’s been very slow going.

  22. This is helpful but still a little confused as I keep reading different things about keeping your humma a low level to do more damage. I’m on level 5 and have Santa and cameo Peter, can destroy 2 buildings and get 12 hats. Last few times I upgraded I got even less hats. Do you really just want to max out? Wait for Lyle to max out? Right now it takes days to earn enough hats and I haven’t been able to reach week 2 content yet

    Like

    • Look at the payouts. It depends. You need to try to keep the Buildings at a low level and your attack vehicle high enough to give you a good attack payout as once you take out 3… it gets harder and news more people to defeat.
