TinyCo decided to drop a lil present into our towns to help us out with the Event. The Mystery Box. The Little Box of Material Joy! WOOHOO!!
For the cost of 1 Silver Bell a try, you will get a chance or two (depends per Player on how many tries you get) to give it a go for some random payout prizes. Once you have used all those tries, the Mystery Box will go away.

This appeared in my game only yesterday, and I tried it today after placing Sarah. I think I’m such a slow player that the game pities me, so I got 8 tries lol. In order I got:
2 head bands, 2 arms, 2 tags, 100 medals, 75 hats, 9 magazienes, 60 toy cars, 3 boots
Best gift bos ever. I got to place de B&B with the presents I crafted from the gifts 🙂

I unlocked Sarah and now the box is back again!
I’m going to wait until I have the building for Kevin before using it, though.
Last time, I used it before I had Sarah’s building and I got hats and medals only. This time, I am hoping to get materials for unlocking Kevin. *fingers crossed*

I don’t know if anyone posted this yet, but my theory is that once you get the 100 medals, the Mystery Box stops. I got lucky though. Before I got the Medals, I got 2 dog tags, 3 army boots, 60 toy cars, 75 hats, the 2 terminator arms and then after I got the medals, it stopped. I am a little behind schedule as I had stopped playing the game for almost a year and just started it back up again.

Your theory isn’t right I’m afraid, I got three tries – first the medals, then the hats and then the toy cars. The box was intended to bring all those back up to speed who had fallen behind significantly. Which it did fairly well, by dispensing all the materials people needed to catch up. Depending on which side of the fence you sit this means you’re either very happy or very pissed off about it 🙂

I was just glad to get to use the silver bells. I was hoping to see some nice Christmas decorations to decorate my town with….as the decorations are all terminator related I hadn’t used any silver bells.

I only received 3chances and received cars, metals, and hats. I literally just placed the building that houses Sarah, I wish I would have checked here first as well as waited to use my tries. I wish TC would give us another go at this I am so far behind I’ve spent Clams already on t-600 and the contraption that goes out unleaded nog. I really don’t want to spend much more than the random ones I’m spending here and there to speed things up. I wish Arnold could get in on the action with this terminator theme.

Am I the only one who hasn’t even seen the mystery box? I’ve been on every couple hours at the minimum all weeek (except for sleeping), but no mystery box.

It finally showed up late Sunday night. Got about eight tries and got a good head start on Kevin (I only needed four magazines to finish Sarah), and got back on the leaderboards with the 100 medals. Also got a single try again last night that was barely worth it.

I have still not seen it and it’s the 23rd already. I am slightly behind, yes, but I have all non-premium characters, except still working on Snake Plisken, and nut-cracker Stewie. I keep thinking that I am looking in the wrong place, but I have searched everywhere for a couple of days now. I am starting to think that I am not going to get it.

yes with that help from TinyCo i’ve got the knife magazine, the 2 Terminator arms, 100 medals, etc .. and i’ve spend 8 clams to finish Guigmire task, and unlock her yesterday night, and now i’m on part 9 i believe, so i’m about 2-3 days late in weeks 3 rather than be way back, so far i can say again THANK you TinyCo

I didn’t feel like I was particularly behind but I got 10 goes of the box….so perhaps I am! Personally I have just been playing along at my own pace and enjoyingvthe event, but yes this was a nice gesture from tinyco.

On my premium account. I got 1 try… was awarded 100 medals, but it never collected them as my game froze and shut down. When I went back in, I still had the same number that I had before and the box was gone. I reported it.
My Freemium account got medals, the rest of the materials for Sarah and some extra’s for Kyle, and enough supplies to convert to presents to get Kyle placed.

I still haven’t unlocked Sarah yet so I only got 75 hats and 100 medals. At least all those hats allowed me to get the item before Sarah and 72 presents for Sarah. I’d love it if they’d give me another chance after I unlock Sarah though, but that’s probably a pipe dream. But without the 75 extra hats, I’d still be working on that train station today so I definitely got some help.

in a back and forth message i had with them, i got the impression that collectively we should have enough snow flake metals to have unlocked the three gold clams and nuclear missle toe by now. i did remind them that the patch they promised to release to stop pulling characters out of battle, that i reported to them on the first day of the event never happened and that i have lost at least 100 snowflake metals, because of this.

I don’t care about the medals anymore. I got banned for absolutely no reason. I was barely in tier 2 a week ago and was thinking about using clams to help get more medals for phase 2 when I suddenly saw I was banned. I wrote to TinyCo for help to find out why because I don’t have any idea how to cheat in this game. It’s been 5 days and zero response. One less thing to focus on. I got 75 hats, 100, medals, and 60 toy cars in the mystery box. Well worth the 1 bell.

I’m hoping you do a post on the “Santas Little Helper” questline soon. I don’t know if they realize that the quest came so late that “Defeat …. village” task becomes extremely difficult the further along you are. I’m stuck on part 2 of this task because Santas Village was already maxed out at the start of the quest.

I was like yeah 100 medals! And had more tries didn’t get more medals so I looked at the leaderboard and was surprised how everyone has some many medals.
A few days ago I was in the top 2000 now I’m not even in the leaderboard.

I only got one try and also received 100 medals, like quite a few others. Since it sounds like almost everyone is getting that, it will basically cancel out.
A little bummed I didn’t get a second try for a shot at dog tags, or even boots. Still working on unlocking Kevin. I’m actually making good progress on Snake, but you have to have Kevin to perform an action to unlock him. It’s just a bummer to see the new attack mini-game and not be able to play because the characters are locked (or too expensive to buy). Skipping Skynet was definitely the right choice, since my gift gathering has stalled without a way to earn chestnuts.

I honestly think the main focus was helping those still working on Sarah Connor to get caught up, so if you had her already… you would have not got as many items.

This really helps 😀 It probably will still take at least another 2 days before I get to part 3 if not more, but that’s better than another week.
As for the leaderbord, I’m still 100 behind the last place, but I don’t care for that.

I didn’t keep track, but it sounds like I literally got the same 8 payouts as you, Saint. I only needed the Knife Enthusiast Magazines to get Sarah, and now I need only two more. The end is in sight!

I got about the same, but had just started Sarah so still stuck on her as the gen rates still suck! I have enough pres for Lyle but just stockpiling until i free Sarah. Seems like the shoukd have character release as first prize of weekly update, so you have the week to build for them rather than burying behind all the slogging tasks!
Only bright spot was bonus item giveaway. Even if it didnt clear Sarah , The 60 cars helped get hundreds of present cause its impossible to earn enough mugs snd bottles to keep attacks! Thinking this will be limited in next 3 sections too!

And I can’t start a new message with them to get there attention I have sent them a pretty long message now and hopefully they will get to me before event runs out I already got o e of my answers but maybe you can help me with the other I read on here earlier that when you attack a place and don’t get anything to contact them is that still true I sent Santa out and didn’t get anything for it I messaged them again ….and I am still waiting on reply

I got enough magazine’s for Sarah to finish her up and enough for Joe’s son also got a butt load or toy cars and top hats to be ahead in the present department I have not gotten any “super” present but I’m ok with that . also I wished they let us use the premium things we got last year like the premium. Currency collector (idk what to call it) for the players that ha e been loyal to them since the beginning

1 try, 100 medals. That’s it. I’ve spend some clams at the beginning (T-600 and the hat / car dropping thingies) since being behind in the last event sucked balls. Now I wonder…
Nah, I’m ahead and happy for it. Taking a long flight tomorrow so off line for quite some time. Hope to unlock Snake before then, but these meals aren’t dropping the way I’d like. Ah well, a little challenge is also nice. Just happy to play stress free this time.

I got one try and 100 Medals. I think TinyCo is trying to make this a nice event, and it certainly has eased up on some of the drops, and finding out this give away afforded a lot of players the opportunity to catch up on needed drops by giving them several tries to get them was pretty cool.

Good, now some people should be closer to unlocking these new characters. You will need these characters if you hope to get any place on the leaderboards.. Perhaps this is why TinyCo are being a little generous?

Got enough dog tags to finish those up, left now with 1 arm and 1 boot needed to unlock Sarah. Past that I know I got at least 1 hat bundle (likely 2-3 judging by how many presents I now have) and a car bundle. Went from around 13-ish presents to just a hair shy of getting Kevin’s tent, and Santa’s done attacking his town in an hour.
Definitely a nice thing to see used to help catch people up some, as well as something to actually use your bells on (let’s face it, you can only buy so many train cars and whatnot before the tedium sets in). Hopefully they keep this in mind if things go south once again for a lot of people.

I am just grateful how they are really watching closely and listening to Players concerns. They are doing what they can to help people still be able to keep up and play that may feel behind while still giving a gift to those ahead too. 😉

this jus helped me place Sarah Connor, but i didn’t win ANY of her required materials. only gave me 3 tries at it and i got 100 snowflake medals, 75 top hats and 2 toy cars.
how are people saying they were able to do it MORE than 3 Times???…i’m confused on why my game didn’t let me do that 8 or so tries.

well no i meant before the mystery boxes came out i needed quite a few more hats to get up to 150 presents to get her,meaning jus placing the armory. the 75 hats i won from the box boosted me up faster and not take as long to place her lol guess i kinda worded that wrong.

Maybe if you had placed Sarah and then went back to the box, it would have recognized you were unlocking her and given you materials for her? Unless it would have vanished anyway. I had already placed her and am in the midst of unlocking her, so it gave me her materials plus hats plus toy cars plus medals.

This gives you two options: either redeem now to put you in a better position to catch up and cutting some time towards getting Sarah.. or be far along enough with Sarah that it reduces your chances in some of the options (like no more rations for me). If delayed gratification is your game x(number)*100medals… is quite worth it. I got 100 earlier and it means I’m at 30short of the leaderboard (which is totally better than being over 130+short earlier.
6x, for my randomness. It’s nice they vary that a bit 😀

I am one of the people who was way behind from the start, I only started week 2 content yesterday night. I took advantage of the clam deal with 75 toy cars, that earned me over 250 gifts. I got to go a lot of times on this mystery box. I still need just about everything for Sarah Connor, so I got headbands, dog tags, knife magazines, boots, terminator arms and medals, hats and cars. Tiny Co’s way of pushing us all forward quickly. I’ll finish week 2 pretty quick with this help from tiny Co! Thankful for a better event. Even though I’m behind I’m not stressed about it.
