I will let you know if I can when it is resolved. Just know they are aware and trying to correct as fast as possible.
BASICS
You will have to update your game to the 1.35.0 Version in the App Markets. (It was in Google and iOS when I checked. Unable to verify others.)
I have the Characters, so this one I will be flying blind in a way. I will pull what I can from my other test games and get as much details from them as I can. Feel free to let me know if you see something we missed.
You WILL be required to spend Clams on the majority of the items. What you spend though is, as always, YOUR choice to do so. Think it over well.

DART GAME
To be able play the Dart game, you will need to buy the Balloon Pop Game fro $250 from the Shopping Cart. Once placed, tapping on it will open the Dart Game.
You will need Darts to play the Dart Game. (Shortcut to see who drops Darts is by clicking the Best of 2016 Icon in lower right corner). It is an Aim & Shoot Game. You move your target circle around the screen to different color Balloons until the circle turns Green. Then “THROW!” a Dart. Yes, you can hit more than one Balloon with One Dart. (Most I got so far playing around is 4 at a time.)

I’m also seeing issue with giant chicken. Already earned him and the hotel. But I had the hotel in storage and chicken in tan lines at the start of the event. I pulled the hotel out of storage but that made no difference. No sign of the chicken in tan lines. Also seeing some of the buildings to be awarded with tokens are for ones I have in storage. So wondering if the event doesn’t recognize items in storage or it allows multiples for the buildings.

I uninstalled, reinstalled, it worked for 5 minutes and then back to crap. Every new event it takes days to get right. With all the money we have to pay for clams to get anything decent youd think theyd be able to afford employees that can fix this. I love this game but if anything was remotely like it besides Simpsons Id waste my time on that one. Sorry its just aggravating.

I had the same, saying error, kicks me out, then it started working sent everyone on tasks now it’s back to error, gonna kick you out.

I’m curious – as I have been only been playing for the past 6 months this is my first “best of” event. None of the characters/costumes in the mystery box or the characters to be unlocked are from events I have played. (The first full event I played was booty haul.) Are they all from 2016 but before August?

The Best of events usually do see us spend some clams, but with likes of the mystery box at least you’ll get a character or costume not decorations or materials.

I was able to rid myself of the Error: basic_string::_S_create on Android by doing a force stop and then deleting the cache and data and then restarting. This avoided having to redownload the app.

So, I have Cheerleader Bonnie, and sent her on her task to earn Ollie Tokens before realizing that it’s a 24hr task. *sheesh*
Aonone have any thoughts on whether it’s better to send Cheerleader Bonnie on the 24hr task to Always get Ollie Tokens, or send Bonnie to earn darts, likely multiple times a day, and hope I get Ollie Tokens along with the other stuff?

I don’t have rr stewie, giant chicken or Ollie. I have opened 3 carnival packs, first had 2 ollies and a Kaplan, second had an Ollie, a giant chicken and a building token, third had two building tokens and an Ollie. Hope that helps!

Well looks like Family Guy made the decision for me as I’m locked out of the game. Since 6 PM yesterday when I clicked on a care package which instead of dropping all 3 discs dropped the outer two as white balls of light when the third came down the game froze. I reset the game and it just opens the care package and does the same. I turned off both my phone and iPad rebooted both and tried getting into game on both devices still with same result. I can’t contact them as I can’t get into the game. This means I lost all the stuff i could have bought with my remaining resources before game finished. Also means I’m locked out of the new event any any future events. Even if they find a fix what about my lost content FG game sucks big time so I’m gonna concentrate on Tapped Out and my other games instead

Hi, please can you confirm the finish date for the best of 2016 mini event February 11th as it states on the FAQ page in the game that the finish date is January 11th which seems to be a very short time frame leaving it virtually impossible to gain any of the characters

I only need Kaplan tokens, and my drops have been building tokens (5) and Kaplan tokens (1). When I click on prizes it only shows me these 2 options so it looks like you only get for what you need.

Be careful! Chris had 2 tasks to get darts. The 6 hour and and his dino costume has a 24 hour task, I believe! I only noticed when the others had finished, he still had 16 hours to go!

Yeah, I don’t understand this, unless the DinoChris task is an Always drop while Chris’ is Rare/Extra Rare (which I don’t believe it is). Or if DinoChris always gives multiple darts; otherwise, what’s the point? And even if it IS an Always drop, I still think it probably makes more sense to send Chris multiple times vs DinoChris once.

On the “S String” error:
After doing a bit of checking into this issue, it would appear that the direct cause of this is updating rather than removing the entire game and going for a fresh install. At this time there is no way to get past this without them correcting it on there end on an account to account basis. You should have the ability to send out an email from the error message screen by tapping the “Help” button. Do so and keep checking back. Hopefully they can get this fixed soon.

I play two games on two different devices (both iOS operating systems) and I have snow still in one of my games and the snow is gone in the other. Both updated the newest version from the App Store too. So weird!

Most will know this but in case you did not in the balloon pop game you can pop more than one at a time if you wait until they are lined up! I have popped 4 at a time!

I am a hard-working(playing) addict and I decided to go yolo and buy a box and there I got the most useless thing: Chris costume. It drops a dart once in 24 hours, meanwhile ordinary Chris drops it every 6 hours. What the deuce???!!! That’s the most useless squandering ever existing!

Just uninstall and reinstall the app – I’ve had to do it 4 times today as the issue keeps cropping up when I leave the game for a while. Make sure you have a login / are logged in (check under main menu –> account info) to ensure you can resume where you left off. You really, really, shouldn’t be an anonymous user anyway. When you reinstall it can possibly go back to the beginning of the game… just step through the tutorial until you are allowed to access main menu –> account info again to login to your account. Your original game should load and let you play. Repeat as required.

Finally most of the players can unlock Giant Chicken. It was a nuisance the first time. Now, it seems that it should unlock quite easily. At least, this is what I hope. 😉 Nevertheless, I would have loved to be able to buy the missing WWE Superstars from the WrestleMania event. (I couldn’t unlock Roman Reigns and Triple H) – Have a nice day! 🙂

I’m on an iPhone. The game told me to update when I launched it late last night (last launch had been before the Christmas event ended) and sent me to the App Store. But the update was not actually available until after 1am EST this morning (I checked a little before 1am and then again at 1:15am, when update was finally possible). Fortunately there was an option within the game update message when I returned to continue without updating, so I could work on clearing some quest lines.

Both Chris – and Dino-chris drop darts, but Chris’s task is 6hrs and Dino-Chris is 24 hrs. Since Dino-Chris is premium and 4 times longer, I’m guessing he drops at least 4 darts, but wonder if anyone can confirm this.

My question is, except for the Jumbotron, which I didn’t have and you have to buy via quest, why would I want to buy any of the other items, since I have them all. And since I do, why are they being offered? I can see the cash and XP drop rates are different for these items being offered than the ones I have, but they are visually the same buildings.

These are not the same as previous items, these are Event specific it seems or I wouldn’t see them as I have these from other Events.

Bunny, Happiest of New Years to you! Glad to see you posting, and hope you are starting to feel better. For science, I purchased a building that I already owned, the burgertown, as it was only 2 tickets, and yes, there are a couple slight differences. It is identical in size, with the exception of: larger footprint (old one – 3×3, the “new” one – 3×6) and longer pay out time (old one – 12h, the “new” one – 24 hours)

I pulled out my old ones and one big difference is that the new versions collect once a day. Sometimes they pay out less than the old ones. They have significantly increased the XP payout on some. The poison nursery had been missing XP but they fixed that in the new one. Not enough for me to want duplicates…
When I got the big chicken in his restaurant this time (hopefully third time is the charm in unlocking him…), I couldn’t find my old version of the restaurant in my inventory. Unfortunately, I forgot to make sure it was still in my inventory before I made the purchase. But it is paying out $10 and 10XP every four hours. Is that the old rate or the new rate?

I assume they are offered for people who don’t have them or who would like to pick up another one. That must be why we are seeing the new ones for sale (as you say, visually identical to the old ones) in the store.
I’m not enticed to buy a second one of those I already have except maybe the Jolly Roger. The selection seems rather random, I wouldn’t call these the best of 2016 myself. There were many more interesting ones to choose. Maybe they asked the graphics people which ones they themselves especially liked and their criteria might have to do with difficulties they had in devising them.

They are the same buildings but with different payouts. Eg some of the ones I have are : ° Mount Olympus, currently a giant space wasting decoration, but here it has a regular income ° Jolly Roger and the two water buildings with rainbows, currently payout $80 each, here they payout $180.
For new players, this might be useful in building bank balance for other buildings and districts, but for those of us with $10M+, it’s not at all useful – just focus on missed characters and rest up.

I emailed you my screenshots, but then emailed that it was working again… Then it wasn’t.
I have found a workaround if anyone is interested (until they fix the problem). This works on Android every time:
Force close the game (or reboot your phone)
Open a file manager and delete the sdcard/Android/data/com.tinyco.familyguy folder. This is where all the image and sound files are kept.
Then you can open the game again and it works..
When you close the game, you will need to repeat these steps or you’ll get the error again.
I was able to get in the game and opened a ticket with support to tell them what I found, so hopefully it helps them find the problem. I suspect the new update is trying to re-download some files that are already in the cache, and that’s causing the error.

The safer alternative is Settings > Apps > Family Guy > “Force Stop”, then “Clear Data”.
Yes, this will take you back to zero – so you will need to sign in again via Facebook or Username, but it has worked for me every time…

Thanks for your thoughts, any players out there don’t try this if you haven’t created an account yet, you must have created an account either by username or Facebook.

I’ve just been uninstalling / reinstalling the app via the Play Store and that works. It does crop up again after closing the game for a while though

Did the update and now I get is an error and crash! All the money I put out and wasted on Christmas now I can’t even play.
