Hey there Clammers, Bunny hopping on by to make a cute lil cozy spot in our new lil world where you can shout at me…errr…well…comment to me anyway of the big (or lil) glitches and hiccups you are running into with your game. We are bound to run into a few as the game gets its bearings. No worries, they eventually get ironed out and patched up.
So here is a place that you can come to and notify us when you run into troubles with a glitch. This way I can pick up on a trend and let TinyCo know right away so they can work on correcting it. They are quite fantastic to work and communicate with. Very helpful to their players.
So tell me your problems and try to include a few key points like the device you play on and/or what was happening when you experienced the Glitch.
As always, you can use the great design of the game to get further help should you need it. Just a tap of the Menu and go into Help & Support.
UPDATE 4-13 6:45om EST:
TinyCo has found the source of the timing issue with the characters (they start a task and after being left for hours, still have same time remaining as when you left the game.) Update to resolve the issue is in the process along with Bruce Glitch.
Here are a few suggestions from TinyCo to resolve issue in the meantime.
In some cases, if you log off before a character begins an action, the game will not start the action. You will know an action has started when you see the countdown timer appear.When you assign actions, wait until the action countdown timer begins. Once the action is going, it is safe to log off.To be extra sure, we recommend leaving the game running for a minute or two before exiting.
For those of you with the “Bruce” screen continuously popping up, please go to our Bruce Glitch Thread and follow the instructions there. I will continue to update it as I get response back.

That’s an iOS task, which is why you can’t find it on Android. It’s got to be a glitch on your Android device, that’s picking up an iOS task. Do you have an iOS device? Did you sign into your town with that?

I just got a quest for Bonnie to “Make new friends” with Chris but the butterfly is locked and says I require a flower bush. I already had a flower bush. I bought one each of the other 3 flower bushes just incase I had the wrong one or something but it’s still locked. I can’t progress with the quest. Any one else have this glitch? I haven’t reported it yet but I’d like it fixed. Any ideas?

Your reason for not finding friends through this game is stupid. Simpsons has numerous sights I can use to fuid friends. To say I can not do so through family guy means you have other motives, as in trying to complete tasks in a timely fashion. Make the game for the players and not some other money making scheme you have in mind.

Not quite sure who exactly your comment is directed at. I assume it’s directed at TinyCo. Us Additcs here are just players too. Just a bit more helpful then some. I so far am enjoying the only few month old game myself. Needs a lil more work, but come a long way in such a short time.

Hard close and keep retrying. It’s a massive pain, but that’s the best way to handle it. If it continues (like into tomorrow or the next day) contact TinyCo because it could be a specific glitch with your game. However, I’ve had it happen to me on multiple occasions and I’m often able to get in after a few tries.

Anyone have a problem with Dr. Hartman? I just unlocked him and had him do his 1st task and now every time I click on him to collect HP and coins my game closes. So now he’s just walking around with the exclamation mark on top of his head.

For two days now my game won’t load into actual game play on iPad Mini! Frustrating! Loads fine on iPhone but no luck with the pad which is where I mainly prefer playing. (First World Problems) Any others experiencing this/suggestions? I’ve removed and re-downloaded the app, rebooted device a couple times now and it’s no help

There was just a hiccup they just fixed with loading some of the games. Uninstall and try it again. I had to start the game as though it was new, play til I got Chris to hold the antenna, then log in with my information. “Sign in as someone else”.
Try and let us know. If still no luck, contact TinyCo right away.

Suddenly game went back to level 2 tried signing in with different username and keeps coming up error load and I press ok and goes back to same level 2 again won’t let me sign in and be back to my level

This post may help. If you are unable to get it to log back in after trying it, then you need to get in touch with TinyCo. Whatever you do, DON’T set up a new account login. Just get to the point you can sign back in, and if you can’t contact them.

Whenever I play on my Google Nexus 10 it quits out of the game if I try to visit my friends. Ironically, it’s fine on my really old android phone. Pretty annoying!

Have you reported the issue to TinyCo yet? I want to make sure they are aware of any issues like this that happen during game play. Especially if it is device specific.
Go to your games menu, help & settings, and contact them right from the game itself so they can look into it. Make sure you include the info you just gave us about it being device specific.

Every so often, tapping causes the screen to shoot across quahog. This isn’t just me accidentally dragging when I mean to tap. Even the slightest tap every once in a while shoots me clear to the other side of town.

It wont let me enter face space. When i click it the game just continually loads without ever actually getting me there. I thought it would fix with the update but it didnt and has been going on for around 2 weeks. Any suggestions?

So, I left my FG:TQFS game to check my Simpsons town for a few minutes and now (for the first time ever) I cannot get past the initial yellow bar screen. Once it reaches the end I get a Consuela box saying “Download Error: config empty for id block 32 in FGExpansion Map Data”. I have restarted my phone, and forcestopped the app, to no avail. HELP! I guess I could delete and reinstall it, but first i’d like to know if anyone else is having the same issue? Thanks

Keep getting gears instead of chain fences. TinyCo support was quick and yes hard closing the app fixes it for a while but it comes back. Top of the line iPad Air with nothing much running. Looks okay on my 5S though. No big deal but everything else in the game looks fine. Must be some fancy chain fences!
In other new I’m hoping gravel or concrete is added in an update soon. Too much grass in the game and I don’t mean Brian’s 12 hour task.

Is it normal to not have xp pop out on the 1 min. tasks? I can’t tell if its counting the xp, but I’m sure it was there to collect before, or am I crazy?

Nope not crazy…sometimes xp doesn’t appear (happens to me a lot) but the xp bar will still fill 🙂

Not a biggie compared to some but has anyone lost sound in the game? Nothing at all when I first open the game but when I close the game and quickly reopen, I get the music but no sound effects and/or voices. Only tried it on the one device I have – an iPhone. A little annoying but not as annoying as never having enough coins! 🙂

That’s a common glitch, it just means all of the animation files haven’t loaded fully in your game. Try closing all the way out of the game (hard close the app) and restart it. That should help clear it up. 🙂

Hey Bunny, I uploaded two pics to the Family Guy Flickr group showing two different glitches. One shows how the stop and shop gets a couple of black boxes over the building when someone is in there doing a task… the second shows the black box figure that Lois turns into when she is doing the martial arts tasks… any suggestions for fixing these?

I’ve experienced the same glitches on both my Nexus 7 tablet and my Samsung Galaxy S5. Lois as a blacked out block figure when doing her Practice Tai-Jitsu task, Speedo Quagmire when doing his Perform Magic Tricks task, and Meg when doing her Scarf Down Hot Dogs task. I also have a texture glitch with the Stop ‘N Shop when Lois or Herbert are performing tasks there and the Yacht Club when Jerome is performing his task there.

TinyCo has been quick to respond to my concerns but they haven’t fixed these particular bugs yet. I’m just glad that they don’t affect the actual gameplay with the exception of not being able to enjoy the animation involved. As the game progresses through its tasks I’m sure we’ll all find additional bugs and glitches but at least TinyCo seems to be actively involved in working on them. I just hope they get fixed soon so we can fully enjoy all aspects of the game!

I have seen these off and on in my game too. I know they are at work on a few different glitch items. Their main focus was the huge impact ones to be resolved at first.
I am glad you have contacted them on this matter too. I am keeping an eye out for trends like this so they can be resolved. I will check and see if there is any update on it.

Hello.
I’ve been playing this game since the launch but I noticed yesterday that I can’t get past the loading screen. This message “Data Error: There was a problem loading the game. Please try again” with the image of Consuela keeps popping up on my screen. I already tried playing the game on 3G and WIFI connection but the same error message pops up.
What should I do?

If you have tried all the basic troubleshooting…force close, restart (as long as you have a user log in/ID…your data will be saved to that)…
There is also the extreme of clear cache and data, uninstall, restart, reinstall… (sometimes when you do this, you have to start game play until you unlock Chris and get option of the login screen too.)
If you are still having issue contacting them would be next step. Email: help@tinyco.com (normally I would say contact them within your game, obviously you can’t.
Just make sure you include your login ID info, device you play on, and as much detail of the issue as you can possibly supply to them.

Here’s an “information” printing glitch for the 4 office buildings. The payout you guys posted in the Real Estate post seems correct, but when you tap the pop out info screen for each office, only the “common” is correct. The rest show lower, incorrect information. I’ll forward this to Matt and the gang thru their help link.

Keep in mind, we listed the TOTAL amount you can earn. In the pop outs…if I remember correctly…it ONLY shows the per hour rates. Not the actual over all. So instead of say 16 XP and 24$ (for a 4 hour building) it will say XP 4/h and $$$ 6/h. If that makes sense. 🙂

That makes total sense….but that’s not the observation of which I was referring. Lol. I’m a bit of a numbers guy, so I like things to add up. The standard office is a 2 hour wait time that pays xp15/$20 but it’s info screen reads xp7/h $10/h. You should get 14xp but they pay 15xp. The “average” and “typical” offices also have hourly breakdowns that don’t match some part of their final payout. I see they just want to keep the payouts in intervals of 5 or 10 so they round up. I just would have preferred that they show the final payout and wait time in the “market” info screens instead of inaccurate hourly breakdowns.

So this isn’t the kind of glitch you COMPLAIN about, but I snagged Consuela on Day 1 (Because I have no willpower), and last night ended up with 600 clams in my inventory again. This was right after I purchased and spent a $10 Clam bundle (Again, no willpower) and right on the heels of the news that her price had dropped. Did anyone else who jumped on Consuela get a lot of Clams back?

My brother got some sort of glitch when playing the family guy game. He unlocked Consuela and the exclamation point comes over Peter to start her quest but when you do that it kicks you out of the game and brings you back in. You can’t do anything with Peter. A message comes up shortly saying error….cantdownloaddialog or something like that. He contacted the company on the troubleshooting in the settings menu.

Anyone else missing some characters animations? I get black blobs moving around for some characters or specific tasks (i.e. Bonnie without a task walking around town…but ok when on the pole for example, Peter & Jerome handshake…but both are fine in other situations, etc.).
I tried uninstalling the game all together but that did not fix my problem when I got it back on my phone…did anyone run into this type of problem?

It is a lil glitchy. New game issues. Give it a lil time to work out all the bugs. As long as it doesn’t effect your game play. If it persists, contact them via your main menu in the game or via email. 🙂

So when I was able to play I was getting the crashing issue when visiting friends. 2 things I noticed: 1 when tapping try to tap only one person at a time. I was tapping some that were clustered together and every time it would crash. 2. I found that if I used the arrows to advance through towns instead of tapping the picture. It seemed to work better. Sadly now I’m getting connection errors and missing money so. Win some lose some lol.

I am now getting an engine_connect_error with Consuela when I load the app and am unable to get into the game 😦 Anyone else having this issue? Was one of the first with Bruce, which was resolved, but am now seeing thing – hoping it doesn’t spread like Bruce did!

Finally got rid of the Bruce screen and got back in for a few minutes, now i’m getting Consuela with “Could not connect to server”. I rebooted my router and my computer, and I’m able to get into Tapped Out just fine so my internet shouldn’t be the issue.
Starting to get really annoyed, because for the 5 minutes I was actually able to get into my game today, I visited several neighbor who are around level 16-17+ and their towns have all kinds of stuff in them, and I can’t even get in to play the stupid game. I know it hasn’t been long but it’s getting very frustrating and I’m about ready to just forget about it altogether.

The new glitch that Daniel spoke of earlier and many on FB (including myself) are now experiencing is the game is no longer auto saving. Even if you are logged in using the three ways (goggle, FB, or their account system). I was happily moving “stuff” around, visiting 20 friends (using the scroll method), clearing land and assigning tasks. I returned to the game about an hour later and thought I was in the wrong town..lol EVERYTHING was back where it had started. Money gone, buildings moved etc. I’ve been in and out of the game trying different things. It’s kind of random. I can now get buildings to hold but forget about the “friends” loot sticking around. Also, I’ve “unlocked” Mort twice. The game has now turned into the movie…….”Groundhogs Day”

This renaissance man already knows how to play the piano…thank you very much…😉 I read Will’s concern below, must be an isolated glitch. I received a feather from “someone’s” task, and when it floated up to the corner, two different characters benefited from it. Also, check out a wording bug at Al Harrington’s Outfits. Go to Quagmire’s Speedo, tap the Fabric Scraps icon (first needed item) and scroll down. “Get From Thrift Shop” is listed twice. Like I said….”Groundhogs Day”……now excuse me while I go steal a truck!

There’s a problem, when I select Bonnie to twerk the credit doesn’t go to Mort’s task. Why should I have to go through Mort for the credit? As long as the task is Completed that’s all that should matter. I waisted 4 hours for 3 different people and now have to do it again.
Also I have enough money to expand but you force me to use clams. Which I won’t do. Please fix this.

Are you referring to the prizes that the characters earn to unlock other characters or items? If so, check on the “chance” levels. Some are common, some rare, some very rare. Go with a character that is more likely to get you that item you are seeking. This game is a little bit more resembling an MMO type game to me in that you need to acquire specific items to complete a task. Let me know if that helps.

No, I’m aware of the common, rare etc. I mean the tasks should show as completed regardless of the unlock able. If I put Bonnie on the pole, all people that have Bonnie on a pole should be check marked. I’m hoping that’s a bit more clear, not being smart mouthed by that either.

Thank you so much for clarifying it for me. I get what you are saying now. If say…Quagmire, Peter, Mort, and Chris all require Bonnie to do the task “Twerk”…it is ONLY crediting Mort for the task to be completed instead of every character it could. Is that more accurate a description?

Just one building? I know in the game you can only do one thing that requires a build at a time. So if he is clearing the area, fixing a burnt building, or starting a new building…he won’t be able to do anything else until that one is done.
If he is just standing there doing nothing and won’t build, that is definitely an issue.

We’re seeing a few players with this same issue. We’ve reported it to our contacts at TinyCo as well, so they are aware. As soon as we hear anything from them about it we’ll pass it right along to you 🙂

Do me a favor and either use the email (help@tinyco.com) or your in game menu to send them your information and open a help ticket. (Game ID- Facebook Name used and/or email address, issue, when it started, etc. As much detail as you can provide.) We will update in the meantime if we hear anything back on this particular glitch we reported to them.

Yeah, Bruce is gone……..started new tasks, went into friends town, got lost connection, got out of game, and wait for it. Bruce is back! How long did they do a beta?

About 2 weeks I believe. No matter. Any brand new game has bugs in the beginning to work out. I’ve seen similar with pretty much every game launch I’ve seen. Even with BETA, it’s impossible to really know how a game will function until you get it out there into the hands of millions.
The cool thing is how quickly they jumped on these issues and are working to fix them. Hang in there. It’ll be resolved. 🙂

I have to say I am impressed with how quickly TinyCo is jumping on the bugs. I was happy to see the Bruce bug adressed after I quit and relaunched the game this morning. Of course I’m sure they budgeted engineering resources for this. I mean we’re not talking about a little bit of money here they know all too well how much income TSTO generates in cold hard cash. Besides would you really want Seth MacFarlane calling you saying “what the hell man?” If you’re TinyCo? I just hope TinyCo is a big enough developer to stay on top if things.
So far so good though and let’s hope the bugs get shaken out soon now that the game us in real life testing. Bunny’s right in that you only can go so far with a closed Beta.

I am watching them closely. Lol. I want the game to be a success too. I just want to play, but I know it is just a baby now and has to work out the kinks. So far…impressed with them. 🙂

Bruce is gone – Hooray! However now I have an issue with visiting friends – I visit them all and collect the money no problem. But then if I leave the game and come back again later, all that money is gone and my friends have the red exclamation marks by them – as if I had never visited them.
I am going to try visiting them and then spending the money immediately to see if that helps! Not really a major issue, just thought I would let you know…I am just so glad to be rid of Bruce! 🙂

Sorry Left this same message on main page, prob should of scrolled down first 😛 I’m still having the Bruce Glitch and its so frustrating BUT im paiebnt and understand its new and they are working on it. However, I tried downloading on another device and it just goes from the downloading bar with the pic of all them in their bad ass costumes to the game. There is no time and way to login…why is there no login area like with Origin and The Simpsons: Tapped Out ? That way I could of downloaded on another device and transferred my game, no I ALWAYS have to play on this device, what if it breaks or whatever? I would always loose my game and yes I always have my facebook on while trying to play Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff

If you sync it up to a device via your email or Facebook, you should be able to just log in using the same information through the menu and keep playing no matter the device you are using. Main Menu, Account Info…from there you should be able to sign in to your account. The issue is it will sync up with your game play and may bring with it the Bruce glitch. You are welcome to give it a try and see what happens. Let me know how it goes.

I’ve lost clams mysteriously twice. The first time I lost about 10, but I convinced myself it didn’t happen. The second time, I lost 15 (31 down to 16) about the same time I opened the shopping district. That happened early this evening.
I contacted TinyCo and told them about the situation. I also explained that I have not yet purchased any premium content and have not rushed any tasks except the one (1 clam) task that is required to be rush early in the game.
I got a response saying they got my message. When I get any kind of resolution, I’ll share the details.

Thanks for the heads up. Losing clams is a daunting thing. They are not easy to come buy, and for a person wanting to play premium, they are quite precious. I will also keep an eye out for any similar issues to yours. Please let us know how it turns out. They are quite helpful and friendly. 🙂

Just checked my game again, still got the Bruce screen of death. Probably going to give up on this game. Not a great start, can’t imagine launching a new game and thinking it will be a success when this happens. Plus moving buildings and other objects around was really difficult/non-user friendly. Back to TSTO.

Sorry about that. It truly has only been 24 hours since it hit. They are working quite fast to fix it. In touch with me constantly trying to resolve it. But I understand the frustration. Maybe come back and try again later. 🙂

Well Bunny, I shelled out on a new device to play on. (Haha shelled:clams) yes cheesy. Anyhow, I got my game back, and created a fb account. But every time I try to use it, it knocks out my Google. I figure this is probably normal, and as much as I want friends I’m willing to wait and see what they come up with in the future.

Anybody else getting a “DATA ERROR” screen when trying to start the game? The progress bar starts fine, then slows down to a near stall. Then a Consuela screen pops up with DATA ERROR listed. When I try again same thing happens all over again.

I just popped in and out of my game about 20 times with no problems. You may want to double check your internet signal. Or give it just a bit then try again. If it keeps happening, you may want to contact TinyCO

Since I first downloaded the game – It force closes twice then goes to the help screen but will go no further. I have done all of the usual troubleshooting fixes with no help. I contacted tinyco Thursday with no response yet.

Give them a little time to respond. They may be looking into it to see the cause. Also double check your spam filters to ensure a response wasn’t kicked in there.

Main customer service contacts, that is true. They are usually just a Mon-Fri kind of thing. (The tech department works all the time. Isn’t that the standard for most companies? Lol)

Yah, many issues with Facebook links. If you can reach them via the Menu system within the game itself, drop them a message. If not, feel free to email all the details to them so they can open a help ticket on your account. 🙂
