The Levels of Family Guy

Hello There Clammers!

As I’m sure you’ve noticed by now TQFS is structured in 3 different ways.  You have the Main Player Level, Character Level & Districts.  These are three different achievement points in the game as you progress.  Some readers have requested a break down of these varying elements of the game, so let’s get to it….

2014-04-08 18.53.42

Main Player Level– This is the Main Level progress bar you see at the top of your main Quahog screen.

2014-05-12 02.07.41

You progress in main levels as you earn XP by doing various quests/tasks with characters.  Currently, there’s no meter telling you how many XP until the next level, but the yellow status bar will gradually fill as you do tasks/quests in Quahog.  Once full, you’ll reach the next level.

Currently, the main level has little to nothing to do with your actual game play experience.  Your main level will not dictate what tasks unlock for you or what items unlock.

Main Level right now is maxed out at Level 40 50

Character Levels: Character levels are individual levels for each character that are earned by doing various tasks/quests involving that specific character.  When you complete a task for a specific character you’ll not only earn Main Level XP but you’ll also earn Character Level XP.  You can tell chat level a character is on by tapping them while they are free.  Their task box will reveal their level:

2014-04-05 18.34.44

Currently, there is an incentive for increasing your Character Levels.  Various quests for each character will require a different level of achievement.  So certain tasks may be locked for you until you reach that level with your character.  For a complete list of which level unlocks which character task check out our Characters Page.

Character Levels right now are maxed out at Level 15
EXCEPT for Peter he’s maxed out at Level 25

Most of the characters max out at level 15, with a couple exceptions. Peter, Mayor West, Tom Tucker, Vinny, Kool Aid Man, and the Comic Con characters. These characters can be leveled up to 25.

Districts: Districts are how you progress in the game.  It’s through clearing each district that you unlock new characters, decorations, buildings and tasks.  Essentially Districts are the key to moving the game forward.

2014-05-13 23.20.08

As of 5/20/14…there are 7 unlocked Districts in TQFS with two more districts in the files to be released soon.

So if you’re maxed out on the Main Level and/or Character Levels don’t worry too much about not progressing…as it’s the Districts that will move you through the game!

What are YOUR thoughts on Levels?  What Level are you currently on?  What about your characters?  Where are you in the Districts?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

On the screen, as soon as I reached $10 million dollars, it stopped showing me any additional decimal places. Does the money still add up? In other words, will it eventually show $11 million dollars, or did I max out?

    • I’d like to see more options for free clams to be gathered, did a post on it recently. I think the only issue in linking extra free clams to Facebook friends is not everyone saves their game that way, many use email so they wouldn’t be able to access those clams. Many are nervous about linking people they don’t know to their Facebooks, and don’t want set up a separate Facebook just for the game. But more free clams, hell yes you got my vote.

      • Yea mean be a great thing for people who play yet can’t say buy the clams at however much they are at a time so free clams from your friends family guy places instead of coins.

Completely unrelated game but in angry birds friends you can watch a mini 30sec advert n get free power ups.

I am not particularly fond of the fact that characters get to a point where they can no longer produce items needed elsewhere in the game. And why does it take so long to complete a task that we can do in minutes, ie: wash feet, Cleveland, 10 hours, geez!

  6. I know this is a way late post, sorry! Let me start by saying normally when I start playing a game I get hooked on it for a week to a month at most and then drop the game and never play it again, and definitely don’t spend cash to buy the “special” money. But I love FG so much that I have been hooked on this game for over six months. I switched iPhones last month and thought I lost all my progress in the game until My 11 year old and my husband got it fixed while I sat in bed in tears (I’m also pregnant and emotional lol) And I know I have spent over $100 in clams, even saving them by getting them free. My husband says I am addicted and need an intervention lol. 😆 Currently I am almost level 41. I have 5 characters leveled out with ten or more close. The only issue I’m having is getting the plutonium for Stewie, normally I would just spend the clams but I’m running low and during events I like to spend my clams on special characters. I have been using Lois and Brian for over a week trying to get the last 2 and it seems like I can’t catch a break, is this normal and is there anything I can do besides spend the clams to speed up the process? Sorry for such a long post!

    • Never ever use Clams for District drops. My thoughts anyway. Districts are here to stay so you have unlimited time to get those items. Some will take a while due to that’s how they’re created. To take more time because they’re here forever. Save your Clams for limited events and special items and just keep trying on Stewie. They’ll drop eventually. 😉

  9. Hi
Once the character XP is maxed out, does doing tasks still contribute to level XP? I’m presuming not, as it doesnt spit out the small yellow XP icon anymore on task completion with my maxed characters?

    Any help gratefuly recieved

I am worried that whilst i have got to Level 40 rather quickly, getting to the next level has proved insanely difficult, even though i have more characters and buildings earning more XPs. has anyone else experienced this problem? even my wife says the same on her game as she is stuck on level 40.
i noticed that i flew up the levels from 30 onwards, sometimes only taking at most a week but i have been stuck on level 40 for nearly 3 weeks!!

any explanation would greatly be appreciated.

Still no Stewie or Tom Tucker, but see no way to get there. Also have no idea what I can do with the $ to help me advance anymore. I wish we could buy clams, but not an option. Anyone else stagnant here?

    Like

    • You’re in a holding pattern until a new district is released. Stewie and Tom are not in the game just yet, and they’ll be released in two separate districts. So you’re basically stagnant until a new district comes out, which most likely won’t be until after this event is over.

  27. Hi, I’m having trouble with unlocking Tricia Takanawa, I need to create Anime Peter, but I can not get Peter or Doctor Hartman to drop Eyeballs, this is infuriating and very time consuming. I put them on the same quest every 6 hours and still nothing, feels like months of waiting since it was first opened up, is there a game glitch??

    Like

    • No…it’s just a frustrating part of the game. Many people are going through the same thing. And when you contact TinyCo they’ll just tell you it’s random. Best advice…just keep trying. And try breaking up their tasks. Every so often send them on a different task and try the eyeball task again.

      Like

    • Definitely keep trying. I ended up getting so frustrated, so I just kept sending Dr. Hartman to drop the eyeball (and ignored any other characters who could drop it). Then one day, it dropped!

It appears that the last eyeball is the hardest one to have drop. I think it’s more to encourage people to continue to play the game, and not have to get to that point of no quests between updates.

  28. When will District 8 be available? I am level 34 with all the available characters unlocked up to and including Tricia. My highest character is a level 13. I need Stewie, lol!

    Like

  29. No, it takes forever. I couldn’t take it anymore after getting 1 eye between Peter and Dr. Hartman so I bought some clams. It’s 250 clams to buy an eye and 12 to skip the tasks. I decided to repeatedly skip the tasks and burned through about 200 clams before I got 2 more so it was the better of those 2 choices.

    Like

    • + u get the coins for skipping. Regretting it now tho cuz I have no more missions again, waiting for them to put out the next district.

  31. Level 23 for me. I really like the different levels for the characters, it just adds a different element to the game. Although I would have liked to see some of the characters have tasks that are unlocked with the highest level. I think I’ve seen some stop at level 8 (or similar) and so there isn’t really anything to aim for to get to level 15. A minor grumble, nothing I’m too disappointed about. Also, if you want to see what level the character is on and they are on a task, you can click on the facespace icon to find out.

  32. I’m at Level 34 and have to say that it sucks that leveling up gets you absolutely nothing. Seems like Tiny Co could at least toss us a few clams for the hours of our lives wasted on this!

        • That is true. They are looking at alternative methods for social. In the meantime, I made an “alternate” FB account just for the game.

Since they are great to communicate with and open for suggestions, PLEASE…contact TinyCo from your game and voice your opinion on the Facebook issue. Maybe it will help to impact a change. I know I do all the time. Lol. 😉

  33. I am destroying my phone’s battery with this game 😀 I’m main level 26, I’ve almost got Bonnie and Chris to level 14 with a few more not far behind, and until I read this thread I didn’t know they’d be limited to level 15. I hope any XP we accrue after we hit that number is taken into account when their levels are increased. I think that was the case on TSTO (stopped playing that before Christmas last year, and said from the first day I played it that I would prefer a FG ‘version’). Anyone know if that’s what’s gonna happen?

    Like

  34. I’m currently level 24, and on the topic of XP, has it ever been brought up how in the store they put all the buildings XP and rent rate “per hour” even if that’s not what their rent cycle is? I think it’s very misleading – almost a “bait and switch”. Case in point: I bought the Coffee Shop for 25 clams because it seemed to be a good little moneymaker – $30/18XP per hour. Then I put it in my town and find out its actual pay cycle is $5/3XP per 10 mins. So, yes, technically if I keep my game open for an hour and collect rent from the Coffee Shop every 10 mins, I’ll get $30/18XP, but if I leave my game and come back I’m only ever going to collect a max of $5/3XP from it, when I was lead to believe it would be 6 times that amount. They really need to put each building’s proper rent cycles on the building info. Okay, /end rant 🙂

  35. Not sure how I feel about the levels. I like the character levels, but after you’ve unlocked all the tasks, what’s the point? An earnings boost at max level would be nice.

And the Main Player level is rather pointless. As far as I can tell it drives absolutely nothing in the game, but a game has to have levels I suppose. It seems like a not completely thought out aspect of the game.

Kind of like the premium decorations. $30 for a statue that does nothing, but look nice? TSTO as least gives you an earnings multiplier to justify the high cost.

I am currently on level 26, unlocked Asiantown, and waiting for the final headband to drop so I can unlock Anime Peter.

  37. Unrelated but is anyone else having trouble with the eye dropping for anime Peter? I’ve got every other item nearly maxed (with the exception of 1 of Lois’ headband). I’ve had Dr. Hartman practicing for an exam and tweaked-out Peter having ‘eye ripping fun’ pretty much constantly since District 7 became avaliable and I haven’t had one eye drop. I know it’s ‘epic’ but I’m starting to wonder if I have a glitch.

    Like

    • I think it’s different items for different people. Personally I had no issues with getting the Eyeballs to drop, but the headbands were rough. Anyone else having an issue with the eyes?

      Like

      • I am having a huge problem with getting the eye to drop too. I have had Peter and the Doctor going non-stop since it was available and not one has dropped yet… Same for the headband.

        Like

      • No issue with the eyeballs for some reason. Headbands seem way to hard to get. And I’ve been waiting for the 4th seashell for mermaid peter for over a month.

        Like

    • I’m getting so frustrated trying to get the eyeballs to drop, I’m starting to look like tweaked out Peter!!! Dr. Hartman and Peter are 0-24 so far. Headbands were tough, but then got 3 over a span of 5 Tai-Jitsu’s. Just got my last seashell for mermaid Peter (has been weeks of waiting for the lighthouse to produce (no Consuela).
I don’t mind a ~10% success rate on something like a 2-hr. task, where you may still be lucky enough to get one item each day. But for the 6-hr tasks, that is horrible. At 10%, it would take roughly 10 tries before getting one item, therefore it will have taken 60 hours of work to get an eyball. To get the 3 eyeballs, you’re looking at ballpark of 180 hours of tasks. Anime Peter better be amazing!! 🙂

Great post on the levels Alissa!

  38. I really do love this game, there’s just something about it. I’m currently on level 28, and I’m in District 7. Levelling characters up for the different tasks actually works for me as I find it more interesting than quest after quest. I love the costumes too, it’s a great to be able to switch them to something else for a change, or to make their task visual as opposed to inside.

    Like

  39. Well…

I’m currently on level 30, 17/22 characters unlocked, 203 clams and 43k$ cash. I’m not giving much attention to character levels, though I seem to have at least one of them level up daily. Most seem to have unlocked the most needed 4/6/8/12h tasks by now.

I only bought the 5$ clam/money pack so far (to (a) get the task off my task book and (b) to give TinyCo at least a bit of reward for publishing the game) and used it to buy a second worker. Except for the leftmost row I have cleared all available land. All in-game currency buildings have been placed (in an admittedly pretty cramped fashion).

Currently working on Midlife Crisis Lois (3 hats missing) and Anime Peter (2 headbands missing). Anime Peter is the only missing bit to unlock Tricia Takanawa.

I narrowly managed to complete the Pee Pants Hobo Clown quest to get that costume.

I used clams retro-awarded from completing sets to get Consuela, the Brain Damaged Horse and Jake Tucker.

I’m currently playing without friends due to not being on Facebook. I only visit Ollie daily and seem to find a clam there every other day or so.

I’m not as hooked on FGTQFS as I am on TSTO. The collecting stuff makes the quest progression slow (sometimes massivley frustratingly so when you need to repeat a job endlessly to get a single friggin’ headband out of 10), making the dialog bits seem somewhat random and disconnected. Since the text is still so damn small, I often don’t even bother to decipher the dialog.

In addition, you often need a single character for multiple concurrent collecting tasks. When those are very long tasks with a low chance of producing the item, it get’s a bit demotivating.

    Like

    • You say youre not hooked but your game is very advanced compared to most of us! And youre leaving a lenghty comment on a page called family guy addicts 😉

      Like

      • Ooops, indeed, looks a bit ironic.

I guess it was kind of challenged to get the quests completed. Playing my usually maxed out TSTO A and B games is nowadays often primarily a repetetive task-sending orgy to get free donuts by XP bonus leveling with the help of weather stations. Even though I don’t rush anything with donuts, I am usually finding myself playing much of the time freely after completing the questlines without too much idle time.

However, even though I am a big fan of the TV show, FGTQFS somehow doesn’t convey the spirit of the show as well as TSTO does (well, to me at least). It’s hard to put into words, but FGTQFS feels a bit sterile to me despite seeming to up the vulgarity of the show even more.

Anyway, I apparently like it enough to keep tapping heavily… 😉
