Wow, another week where this one wasn’t even close! You guys like to have your voices heard and you certainly spoke loudly! An overwhelming number of you loved the idea of the buildings, but HATE that the cost clams. While very few of you actually loved them as they are.
Here are the final numbers:
What Do You Think About the Premium Buildings?
77%- I love the idea of the guaranteed drop rate, but hate that they ALL cost clams
20%- Can’t stand them!
2%- LOVE THEM! Love the added benefit of the guaranteed drop rate for items.
All in all it looks like you guys like the idea of the buildings with the drop rates, but just wished they didn’t ALL cost clams. It’d be nice if one or 2 (maybe that randomly dropped an item required..instead of all the same item) cost coins (or booty) over clams.

so wait… it let me continue to earn the items I needed for 80’s Cleveland until JUST NOW (doing 1 hour tasks)… but there doesn’t appear to be any way to generate the outfit now that I’ve earned it?!?
When I missed out on clown Peter it stopped letting me earn the items. Like *hint hint* you missed it, dummy. This is just false hope! Unless I’m missing some secret way to turn him on…?!! *hope hope* … no? *sigh* whelp. back to TSTO while I wait for the doc to spend another 3 days trying to earn that last eyeball for Anime Peter (Peter’s busy earning whips for Lois).

I believe I read in another post here at Addicts that it would disappear after the event was over. Don’t know in which post and it may have been a comment actually… maybe someone else can confirm? It sucks if that’s the case and some players didn’t get him on time…

Exactly….it turned into “ghost” coding….now a tip for your “eye” hunt..keep BOTH Peter and the Doc on the hunt for now (forget about Lois for awhile)..every few tries, put both Peter and the doctor on a short task…to break the pattern so to speak….then put them right back on eye patrol…this worked for me. Let me know if it helped. 😉

Overall, this event was a mess. At first, I thought, cool- a Raiders of lost ark parody. About week 2, it seemed obvious tinyco was making stuff up as they went along. My son looked at the prize screen and noted how random the prizes were: what does a gorilla have to do w desert pyramids, volcano, etc? Then came the blatant cash grabbing w simultaneous task grinding to get Cleveland (80s C man should have been held until this weekend when many have holiday). And there are numerous things I seem to have missed even though I played event each day- adventure Peter has task called “fart of covenant”. Was this abandoned or can we unlock it later? I’m waiting on Stewie: he will hopefully have Amazingly funny tasks, unlike Brian who has mostly get intoxicated or act like a jerk tasks..this game had the potential to be so awesome, it’s kind of a bummer

To unlock Adventure Peter’s Fart of the Covenant action, you had to win the golden fart of the covenant box from Stewie’s Royal Sarcophagus. It was random though so even if you spent the 120 clams to open it, there was no guarantee that you would get it. The animation for the action is awesome though. Probably my favorite in the game.

Gotcha, thanks for the info! I bought 2 of the Stewie sarcophagus and won the lowest amount of butts it paid out, so decided to stop gambling on it then. Glad you enjoy the animation, I can imagine it would be freaking sweet. Lol

So is Cleveland unavailable for new players? It seems like an odd choice of characters to only give out once during a special event at the beginning of the game’s life, but the way he was introduced was heavily tied into the event.

The whole clams for sarcophagus chances is one of the worse premium concepts ever. As a DJ I really wanted the DJ booth for my town, I knew from how many times I tried to get items from the moon idols I couldn’t get with the extra 80,000 moon idols I acquired from the event. I would have likely had to spend hundreds of real life dollars to get the item I wanted so I didn’t play their stupid game. The next time I see this concept at gambling real life money for in game items I have no problems turning away from this game with no hard feelings. If the DJ booth was 120 clams flat out, it would have been worth it, 120 clams for a chance to get it is not. I feel like this event made us all guinea pigs to test how much people were willing to pay them for what. I sure hope no one else spent money on the Sarcophigarbage game.

I felt the same, I totally disliked the concept to gamble real money (clams) for something I wanted. I would pay clams for the item but paying for a chance (quite small) to win it – no.

I agree.. I’d sooner pay out the clams for what I want, then spend the same amount to take a chance at winnining it.. I think in the long run, TinyCo would loose money on this because many will not take that risk. Maybe after the event is over, they could all the items for clams…

Let me add, I would have spent the clams for the Ark as I would have LOVED to have that item, but since it was only available on the 120 clam stewie thing, I refused to spend the 120 clams to take a risk of winning it..I would have chosen to outright pay the clams for that item..

Does anyone know what the law says about how TinyCo handles item drops? I don’t know what the laws are from state to state but I’m pretty sure that in Ohio if you are spending money on games of chance the “house” must provide you with the odds. For TinyCo to describe items as rare, uncommon, epic is fine, but the actual odds of them being dropped must be posted some where.

Since it doesn’t cost anything to play the game and it doesn’t cost anything to send a character on a quest or “task” to receive an item, no laws of gambling would apply. Now if this game or ANY game for that matter, accepted real money then offered a chance to win “real” money, then All state laws governing gambling would be in effect.

Where is King Butt’s FaceSpace? I skipped over his “new message” when he made level 2, and he isn’t there when I open the main FaceSpace page.
I’m sitting on nearly 300K coins and nothing to do but grind individual characters to their next levels (if they aren’t maxed out already.) Overall level 40, so I’ve hit the wall there. Next district can’t come soon enough.

So for a while now my people haven’t had quest to do and it really bothers me because I unlocked every piece of land and yet still now stewie or anything I have every character up to stewie but it keeps saying locked and I just wanna finish the game but it’s pissing me off

After the Jelly-O shots ended it took my pee pants clown peter away. I wasn’t finished creating him but I was very close expecting to see more clowns later so I could finish him. So it appears now that I would have to start all over to do it. I don’t see that as being fair being it’s time wasted.

Seems similar to my problem where I did finish the quests (I think so anyway…perhaps they just disappeared). Yet I cannot clear the bulls. Despite all requirements being fulfilled.

The event seemed like more of a chore than entertainment. Also, $5 for a chance at limited time items? Tinyco got too greedy with this one.
My town is a huge mess with building scattered everywhere. I really hate having anything in my inventory, but I ran out of room.
They need to spend way more time on the design of the game and not just on cheap ways to earn money. Make a great game and the money will come.

First….you need to visit more.. 😉 The booty box was in the “shop”, cost 4000 idols for a couple of cool things and then a bunch of junk you can buy with in-game currency. The glitch….well..it’s gone now, but you can read about it in this post (look for Tsdave81 comment)

The booty box could have been good but sucked even more than TSTO’s infamous wheels. I’ve won endless yachts and wheelchair parcours. What am I supposed to do with all that crap?

When I found out about the glitch late last night, I had 40K idols and 17/25 shots required to defeat the butt, and the event was going to expire before the clock did. So I had to use clams to speed up the quests to get the rest of the shots…thinking I’d get a bunch of clams from the Booty Boxes to make up for it and maybe more…
Well I eventually got the shots, and used the glitch a bunch of times, amassing 500,000 + idols. The majority of which were used to open Booty Boxes, BUT I only got clams once- and just 10 of them.
I’m happy that I got a bunch of stuff that I wouldn’t have gotten without the glitch, but DAMN those are some insanely slim odds to get clams…less than 1% for 10 clams, and even less for 50 clams? Really? Why even have them in the boxes at that point if even after using a glitch you can still barely get any clams.

I also discovered, after they fixed the glitch, I was able to continue defeating the butt by placing and storing peter’s gold statue which would reset the timer each time. I had several hundred shots built up in blue and purple, but only 6 left of red. So while I wasn’t getting the round of 20 shots each time, if I got a good streak of purple/blues I could get a couple 50x multipliers and then start over when it asked for reds. I got another 75K+ that way.
It was about 5:30 EST when the screen got stuck in his barfing mode and had to reset, then the event ended. Luckily I only had 2,000 some idols unused as I was buying boxes as I earned them in case it abruptly ended.

Do you know if there’s an item limit to what your storage can hold? If I knew the clams were next to impossible to get from the boxes, I would have bought a ton more trees, palms, and lava instead. Now I have 30 gardens, 10 skateparks, and 20 yachts that I’ll never have room for in my town. I’d rather have smaller cosmetic items I can incorporate into it.

I gotta say… as sure as I am that TC is not all about giving stuff away, that “glitch” sure seemed kind of intentional… like it was designed to be exploited by those in the know. It’s probably my imagination, but that’s how I see it. I was only able to take advantage starting at 9:30 this morning, but I took FULL advantage of the time I had. The way I see it, if TC is going to go clam heavy on virtually every aspect of the event (be greedy) then turnabout is fair play. I’m not too worried about having a ridiculous amount of items in my inventory and I’m happy to have gotten a small (30) boost in clams. Personally, the “glitch” saved this event for me. I was about sitting at about 90,000 as a freemium player and got unlucky at the end, which prevented me from breaking across the finish line. I can’t find it in me to complain after having an opportunity to clean up like I did.
Having said that, the clam heavy focus certainly got old. TC should certainly make that content available to users, but most of their players will be freemium players. Don’t piss off your base!

I don’t really mind buildings that cost clams, but it would be better to offer 1 building that guarantees a drop of any of the needed items. So instead of 3 separate buildings each dropping an item, offer one that will drop of a few items at any given time

A little bummed we never got the advertised Jelly-Yo buildings. It feels to me like they released this event before they had enough of it completed, then didn’t get certain elements finished on time. There was data found of a building called King Butt’s Guyliner, and a few other decorations that never were released. But overall, still had fun with the event! It’s kind of nice to be out from under its grasp too. Spent SO much time with it. Haha!

I’m still bitter because my game started crashing after King Butt appeared. So I never got to defeat King Butt or collect any additional idols for the past week. And despite a couple of e-mails to TinyCo support (including a complete log dump from my phone), I find myself still unable to fully load the game. I’m just praying that there’s a full app update soon and that it might get me back into the game.

Totally took me by surprise to see not just the museum, but Cleveland’s house and the sandy pyramid. (Also took the wind out of my overally inflated sails about not getting as much as I wanted) Also, from what I’ve seen online, it seems they’re taking all the feedback from this event (even the bad stuff) very seriously and I think the next event should be a bit better balanced.

Did anyone who did not use the glitch get King Butt? I maxed out just above the gorilla, and that was only with the Booty Box which pushed me over.
Overall, I would have to compare this to TSTO’s Stonecutters event, which I enjoyed immensely due to its polish, multiple types of challenges, and – well, Number One! But with TQFS’s event, I thought it was really boring and just slogging to collect the idols. Adding to the chorus of comments that it feels like if you didn’t spend money, you couldn’t get King Butt – it’s not unfair per se, but I think it would have been nice to be made aware of that before hand. The neighbor system also seems to be broken – there are friends who I have not visited in weeks, but it’s like there is a max number you can visit per day.
Anyways, gripe over. I sympathize with those who are embittered over the experience and no longer want to play. It’s a good first try for an event, but in the future, if I only have time for TSTO or TQFS, I think TSTO would win out.

I’ve been playing both TSTO and Family Guy for these events. TSTO I have almost twice as many emblems needed for all the goals, whereas, Family Guy, I had less than half as many idols needed for everything- until the glitch…
I played Family Guy all throughout every day for the past couple weeks, and still would not have hit 50K without the glitch… Unless you spend money on clams, or 6+ hours a day on Family Guy grinding away, there’d be no way to reach all the goals. I’m also not going to harass my real friends on facebook to join the game to get more points. They need to allow random in game friends instead, like TSTO.

I actually got king butt at the last minute and a stroke of luck, I was buying booty boxes one after another to try and hit the clams and getting a bunch of useless stuff when finally I hit a couple of booty prizes in a row, then I had like99,500 minutes before it was over and bought the hot mess mummy’s and just made it in time. So it was possible

I must admit, as a new player I have mixed feelings about the game, and the event as a whole. While, I generally liked event, it came across very clam heavy. I have yet to find ways to earn clams without spending money. I’d be happy to buy clams, if the game didn’t have crash issues. I lost a booty box due to a crash, and have yet to get a response from TinyCo.
On the plus side, I was happy to see the free items in my inventory.
One of the main issues with the event was the conflict of 80’s Cleaveland, and King Butt. You either lost out on getting jelly shots or the 80’s event…. Anyone else have the conflict????

Yea this was really poorly structured as far as the tasks, times, effort were concerned for each major goal.
Unlocking Cleveland was insane in itself. Incredibly time consuming to grind every day to all those tasks just to unlock him. (Unless you spend money to get the items lol).
THEN you had to grind away to get 80s Cleveland while you put the event tasks on hold….
I have a job, and play The Simpsons Tapped Out as well, so I don’t know how casual players can keep interest in this when they can’t earn any goals in a reasonable amount of time. Imagine if I had a girlfriend or a pet- when would I have time to play games???

I clicked the shopping cart and noticed a small icon (top right side) for items that I had won. Is this a link to sell our excess Booty Box inventory? I tried it once, heard the “cha ching” sound, but did not see anything happen…

That symbol is telling you that the item is in your inventory. When you hit it, it just took one out of inventory and placed it into your town. The sound used his the same one when making a purchase.

Now that this drawn out event is FINALLY over, I have absolutely nothing to do. All the currently available characters are unlocked, all the land is cleared, and I’m sitting on $150,000 in coins. Any hints on what events/characters are coming up and when? I need to get out of my Quahog limbo ASAP…

As far as your question about what is next. I noticed Brian has an action I think is new (Dance a Jaunty Dance) that requires Stewie. Maybe it was there before and I never noticed it though.

This was not a good first event. After the pyramid opened and you unlocked Cleveland it was in complete free fall. No story, no interaction with characters, no direct ties to FG – all just a big push to buy clams with no real worthwhile return on investment for the player. I’m gling to keep going, as even TSTO had it’s fair share of not good events (though I think the pyramid event here was even worse then the horid last TSTO Easter event), but they need to make big changes. Basically giving them till Stewie.

I bought over 450k in booty boxes and never won the best prize 50 clams. My idol total was nearly 600k and I played constantly to get as much as possible. I have over 49 friends and not one person won that prize. Also haven’t seen proof (screenshot) that a single person on forums won that. Can anyone prove they won 50 clams from booty box? Also, after buying well over 125 booty prizes, I think TinyCo should give us the ability to either sell back excess stuff (like TSTO) or, even better, give something to our friends. I have 5 peter copter’s, 12 Quag planes, 24 yachts as well as a lot of wheelchair skate parks, garbage piles, flammable gardens, Lincoln statues and Anubis and nephertahtah statues that I don’t need. I have friends who would love the copters and planes especially, so would love to be able to give things to friends. This would set the game apart from TSTO. Any thoughts people???

Lol…Well…not sure TinyCo is going to help you get rid of all that extra “free” stuff you won when you chose to buy a “shot” at winning (yet more free stuff) using “extra” idols you got from a “glitch”… 😉 But I do feel they need a “sell” feature in general…and your “giveaway” idea is very thoughtful. 🙂

I won 50 clams from booty box. I didn’t get a screenshot so I can’t exactly prove it, but when I won there were two clams on the screen each adding 25 clams to my total. I was finally able to get Buzz Killington because of it!

I used the glitch shamelessly and ended with around 1.5 million total booty and spent it all on booty boxes. I got the 50 clam prize 1 time out of all those boxes but I got the 10 clam prize several times. I started with 21 clams got enuf to get to 201, spent 2 dollars real money n got buzz killington. I know it was kinda shady of me to exploit the glitch that much but I felt like this event was all about the money and it was kinda a thank you myselffor playing hard. Yeah I know I’m making an excuse for what I did, but it’s done now soooo…

Being the first person to confirm Dave’s trick, I shamelessly used the glitch to the point of 2 million! And although I have no proof, I won 2 lots of 50 and 10 lots of 10. I owned Jake already so my task was to get Brain Damaged Horse. I had 30 ish when it started, bought him after endless grinding for clams. IMMEDIATELY after I bought him, I got 50 and 10 clams from the next two consecutive tasks. At that point I called it a d…..month.

Side note: The amount of garbage i have is phenomenal. Peter Copters were sort of rare for me (5) and Queen Nefertahtahs (10).

Just spoke to TinyCo…they have fixed the “outfit” glitch. Hard close your game then restart….outfit should be back. 🙂

The event had potential but overall it was a dud. It just felt like a big money grab with no real gameplay value for freemium users. I don’t mind that there are some things that cost real money. And I’d spend more if there was a better balance. But at the end of it I just felt pretty blah about it. I’m just glad regular Quahog is back.
The shorter events where much better. Less intrusive and they didn’t drag on forever. They need to rethink things the next time they do a big event.

I took advantage of the shots glitch to eventually get over 1,000,000 butts. If I hadn’t, I would have finished just short of the gorilla prize. It would have been annoying, but I understand that TinyCo wants to make money off of us. Besides, missing out on King Butt in my town wouldn’t have bothered me as much as, say, Stewie.
But I have a real problem with those sarcophagi where you’re basically gambling for good loot. Hey TinyCo, I will NEVER spend real money on one of those scams. The drop rates for the good stuff are too low. I don’t want to spend clams on a box just to open it and find a small yacht worth 3,000 in-game coins. It’s insulting.

The only premium building I really liked/bought was Ricky’s Cantina. Something about the cool waterfall design and Peter’s jokes about it.

Pretty bummed that I played the game the entire time daily and only got to 40000 butts. But what adds salt to the wound is that this glitch allowed people to get millions of butts when everyone else who plays by the rules basically gets screwed. I’m on the fence about continuing to play this game. If I was tinyco I would update and give everyone all the prizes they missed including one of everything in that booty box that they already didn’t have. But they prob won’t(guy can dream right?)

I’m with you, though I don’t blame anyone for taking advantage of the glitch. I only learned about it yesterday evening but king butt was on the 24hr countdown so couldn’t do the glitch before the event ended.
However like you did I also worked really hard, every day, all through the day and even woke up in the middle of the night to try and keep this event going and I got to 61,000. I spent all of my free clams that I had collected (I had started the day after this game was released and did buy the early clam package for something like $4.99) on premium characters, speed ups, boxes, etc. and have nothing to show for it from the event. I’m out of clams and never even completed the damn thing.
Most of my characters are maxed out, I’ve bought all the land, bought tons of buildings and decorations, have 250,000 in the bank, and I just shut the game down without sending any characters on tasks.
I’m done. Before this event I was really enjoying the game but this ruined it for me.
