Update: TinyCo has changed the toy change time to 10pm PDT. (1am EDT and 0500GMT). This gives you a few extra hours to collect those toys! 🙂
Hey there Clammers. In pure TinyCo fashion, there was a lil update to your games in the weeeeeeeeee hours of the night. What did it bring? Well take a peak below if you want…
Stewie is having a lil Tea Party and you can win toys. He can party every day up to 3 times to get a chance at cool stuff and…a new lil friend, Rupert!
We will update the post with some of the details and bring more as the event goes on and we verify the live game play. It will end on Tuesday, so have fun!
So how does all this work? Well characters around Quahog have tasks that will help Stewie earn the toys he is looking for. You just need to find out who. You will have 3 chances for a Tea Party a day, and the toys change at Noon PDT. So get what toys you can before then.
So far I have been able to still do this event with Stewie NOT unlocked. Bob’s Funland is repaired and this game is still collecting items to unlock him. Let us know if you are unable to play with Bob’s Funland not unlocked or repaired yet. Also just tested game on District 5, Joe not unlocked…still can play this Event. So no worries on Stewie being needed so far.
Tea Party Tasks: (You only get ONE awarded per task when they drop)

Of course there are Decorations to “help” get the toys too… (I don’t know if it is just my game, but a toy dropped for me every single Payout.)
Stewie’s Sandbox: 125 Clams. Drops Giraffes (Uncommon Rate). Payout of $30 & 20XP Every 4 hours.
Topiary Stewie: 200 Clams. Drops Giraffes (Uncommon Rate). Payout of $20 & 15XP Every 2 hours.
Once you gathered the Toys at each of the 3 levels for the party guests (Yes these are the TOTAL amounts of that days toys you need to unlock the box. And no, they do not subtract. 6 toys, plus 8 more to 14 toys, plus 10 more to 24 toys)…
You are then given a Tea Party Mystery Box to open. (It will show up in your “Featured” Menu as a Free item.)

Once you have completed the 3 separate Tea Parties and opened your 3 Tea Party Boxes, the icons to earn the toys will no longer show next to the characters tasks. You will then have to wait for the Tea Party Toy to reset at 12 PDT, then start earning the next one.
You will also notice that you now can go to Level 50 in your games. WOOHOO higher Level. Now that XP collection should start back up again for all of you that it stopped. Lol.

Sooooooo, if the prizes are unique, that means as a freemium I can just go buy the ones that are for cash, limiting the prizes to the premiums, of which there are 7, which makes it a hell of a lot easier, or even buy a couple of the cheap premiums out of my precious stockpiled clams to increase the chance of getting the more expensive items…?
If so, I’ve got a lot more optimism for the event than when I first woke up (rather late) to this, as today is a right off unless I speed up tasks. 🙂

Does anyone know how many clams it will cost to unlock Rupert if he is not won during this mini event? I’m talking about just buying him as a premium character – jake, brain damaged horse, etc. & not speeding anything up with clams. I think I’m already screwed on the first gift box – it was after 7 am edt before I started on this, & the characters have to go through their 4 hour tasks twice to get the first gift box. By that time, it will be just after the 12 pdt (3 edt) deadline. If I was just able to get 6 giraffes and the toy I need changes, I would have to go through 8 hours of stuff AGAIN for that first gift box, with 8 hours wasted for nothing. A MAJOR WHAT THE HELL MOMENT!! Any word from TinyCo yet regarding that shortened first deadline?

I got rupert at 14 toys (pawtucket truck on 6) but my game glitched and booted to main screen, when I got to 24 toys I got rupert again. I also seem to have unlimited free salons!
You get a toy each time a task is done, no exceptions for me. It cost 112 clams for rupert but I got 100 back for completing a set.
I like these small events, ive done everything, unlocked everything, cleared all space….so doing this each day is fun.

There seems to be a glitch. I actually won Rupert, but just as the screen showed it Consuela showed up with an error message about not being able to load whatever and my game restarted. No Rupert and a fresh box 😦

Am I correct that if you have the item already that are prizes in the Tea party mystery box they aren’t given again?
If that’s correct there are 5 that can be bought for coins the other 7 are worth clams, so those who like me have lots of coins and few clams would be wise to buy those with coins which means you only need 7 boxes to garrentee winning human Rupert.

Yes and no. I currently have 2 Gold Digger Islands….So I THINK they’re allowing multiples of things. I have to wait a few more hours to verify if that’s the case (since I zipped through all 3 so far…)

Because I’ve been working on unlocking all the characters and costumes and sleeping I put everybody on long task so when I woke up only two out of my 4 available players to get toys were able to be put on the task so this is going to be impossible

So I woke up this morning (EST) and put all my characters on long tasks to unlock Stewie. I then go back into the game a little bit later and see that there is a tea party event. The event banner didn’t show up until after I had assigned characters to long tasks. Bummed I have to wait until this evening (after the next toy has been revealed) to even start this event! WTH!! 😠
TC could give us a heads up so we can be prepared, and even get excited about a pending event. Instead, they want to be sneaky and pi$$ everyone off. Arrgh!!! 😡
Also, it is crazy that the same characters are always used for item drops. Come on! 😞

If I’m informed correctly box prices can only be won once, so your chances of getting Rupert should increase with every box you open. (less available prices every box) I wonder if you win him immediately of you’ve already bought the other presents prior to this event…

My level progress bar isn’t rising. I’ve been at level 40 for several weeks and with this mini update the yellow progress bar is back next to the ’40’ but I haven’t suddenly jumped to a higher level like some of you guys have

At the higher levels, it takes a lot of XP to move it. I’ve been at level 40 for a long time and it only went to level 43.

For me…even though it says uncommon, they dropped each time i clicked on a character to collect. So it looks like they’ve got some great drop rates for them. Fingers crossed it stays like that! Have fun at the car show! 🙂

Hi there. Can you tell me, if you win human Rupert in one box does that mean you can’t win anything else? I sped up the topiary 6 times and won human Rupert with a tanning salon on my first go. I then sped the topiary again until I had 14 toys and there was no present to open. I really wanted to win some more prizes.

Not sure why it’s not allowing you to continue. You’re suppose to have a chance to “win cool prizes including Rupert”. Try a hard close and turn off your device to see if it will allow you to continue. The fact you got TWO tanning salons means their are (everyone say it together), glitches with this new event. Let us know if it helped. 🙂

I now have 19 tanning salons and the option to get it is still in my cart. This has to be a glitch! I guess I need to contact TinyCo as I won Rupert with box 1 and have since got all 24 toys after speeding up the topiary 12 times. I should have got another 2 prizes then. I’m not complaining about getting Rupert as that was amazing luck, I just wanted to try and get a few of the prizes. Thanks for trying to help. I’ve tried your suggestions but I still can’t claim 2 prizes and just have the tanning shop where the box used to be.

No I don’t already have all the prizes. Haven’t got flower Stewie or the truck (which I really wanted). I have a major glitch. Just have the tanning shop where the box was and so far have over 15 of them. I could just keep getting more as it’s always there, but I’m not a fan of farming. Will contact TinyCo. I have had a glitch since the new district as my characters and buildings have always dropped the item. As a result I only have to get another 10 blueprints to get my final character, Stewie. It might sound cool, but I think I’m going to get bored as next district won’t be open for a while. I like the fact you don’t always get something. I know, most people would love the glitch I’ve had so I’ll shut up now! Thanks for your input.

Hopefully you figured this out by now but if not I had same problem, at 6 the box pops up but at 14 you have to go to the store where the box is listed free. Hope this helps.

I know it’s the start of the even and I know that theoretically it is possible to get Rupert… But I was kinda hoping they you make it a bit easier it’s not like these drop are common and it’s not like if we stayed awake and got everyone working for these prizes we would get him. Atleast make it so we had more time like another 12 into Wednesday to get this. It still leaves the challenge and a bit more plausible for players to get him. But other than that I love the idea of having a event before releasing a premium character.

I agree with Alan (UK). The premium characters are never utilised properly. Always the same characters used, even if it means mutiple item drops for the same task. Feels like a waste of clams on my part. Thinking the same about the sandbox and topiary, why spend 325 clams (minimum of €10.79 for me if I don’t want any leftover clams) if the the toys are then going to change after a certain amount of time? They’ve lost me on this one. Lol

Weird…I have been on lvl 40 for weeks, but the process bar is only 3/4 filled. I thought I would be far enough in for a jump to a higher level. My sister seems to have gone back 2 lvl to level 38. Oh well… levels don’t really do much anyway. Also weird that we only have 12 hrs for today’s toys.

Each new level really takes a lot of XP to get to the higher level. I’ve been at level 40 for (what I thought was) a long time. But only got bumped up to level 43. But you’re right…It really means nothing….it just satisfies my silly “gamers” pride. Checking with TinyCo about the shortened first day, also. 😉

Right off the bat, there are a couple issues. The quick math, which I’m sure many will figure out soon (This is for freemium of course): 24 hour intervals, with 4 actions to getting unique prizes at 4 hours each. That means 6 total completed actions per day with all four characters = 24 toys a day MAXIMUM. And prizes don’t transfer between days. But chances are, people want to sleep more than four hours, and chances are people will have to miss time due to IRL stuff. In other words, it’s borderline impossible for Freemium players to get full rewards. Again.
That wouldn’t be so bad if the rewards were set though. But they are just chances at getting an exclusive character? Welp, TinyCo’s gunna get some backlash on this one… In any case, I know this is incentive to pay money, but the argument can be made that 33% of this event is purely for premium players.
However, no complaints if Rupert can still be unlocked later!! Though I think TinyCo should confirm that immediately. Otherwise, you’ll have a bunch of people paying cash and also being pissed that they didn’t get him. I imagine he must become cash-only later, which is fine by me, and I’ll be thankful for the chance. Guess I’ll have to wait and see.

One good thing is prizes aren’t duplicated. So as prizes are removed from the mystery box, your chance for getting Rupert improve. 😉

Loving all the new challenges the only negative for me is that none of the characters you buy ever get to collect new stuff, which seems very unfair and questions if it’s worth buying any in the future.

I don’t understand. If I send all 4 characters on these tasks only one of them will drop a toy? So to clarify, if I send Peter, Bruce, Chris, and Quagmire each on their 4 hour task, in 4 hours when I collect from all 4 of them, I will only recieve 1 toy period? Not a possibility that 2 of them will drop toys? Or three? Or all of them will drop a toy at completion of the tasks?

No, you want to collect as many toys as you can, once you collect 6 you can have your first party (open a mystery box)….then when have collected 14… Second party..second box…then 24 for THAT days final party/box. The “toys” are just like any item. Chance of one per EACH task completed.

Yeah if you look on FaceSpace under Characters You Buy, Human Rupert is pictured saying “You’ll need Bare Bear Tanning Salon to unlock Human Rupert.” And a thing popped up saying when the toy changes, so will the drop on the Sandbox and Topiary Stewie

I just won human Rupert in my first box and I got the tanning salon with him. Don’t think I can win any other prizes now though. I’m guessing you can win Rupert any time as I almost fell off my chair when I opened the first box & got him. I also seem to have 2 tanning salons, not one. I think it’s a glitch, but I’m not complaining, Rupert is doing a task as we speak.

Real easy… 4 characters on 4hr tasks, means that if you time it impossibly perfect (and dont sleep) or you speed up an hour of 1 round (all 4 characters) you can get 24 in 24 hrs. Now if you buy either of the premiums, you can get a little rest somewhere in there… sleeps overrated anyway…

Impossibly perfect (for no clams) is right. You would have to claim and reassign 4 characters in 1 second, five different times in one day. And then there is the problem of some 4hr0min1sec tasks.
You could prob get 24 for a grand cost of 4 clams if you don’t care about sleep.

If you notice the Premium characters section of Facespace, it’s now Rupert’s image. Click on him, it’ll tell you you need (insert building here) to unlock. I think this is a little event for freemium players to get a chance to get Rupert before he goes up for sale.

Is there any point in doing this if you havn’t unlocked Stewie yet? Can you still do his “tea partys”?

Many are reporting that they still can play even with Stewie unlocked. (Just don’t have a test game at moment to verify if Funland has to be to Repaired state and Stewie collection started.)

well, i noticed the update after i send my guys to actions, in order to get the items for unlocking stewie and pb&j brian. guess i’ll get no prize today

Wow, I can see this going down like a ton of bricks. Taking people from blueprint collecting lol. Personally I like the idea of a mini event to change pace from collecting stuff but doubt many people will share my view.

Yes, but the actions needed for Stewie are so long most players are gonna be shut out of the first round, unless they buy premium items of course. Which is fine, but it does grind my gears a little that the first cycle is intentionally short to cause some initial panic-spending of clams.

Yes, I agree. Most players…like myself, had the principle “giraffe” collectors on their longer tasks. I know TinyCo likes to keep their secrets, but little “helpful” warnings go a long way in the gaming world. Like “Something cool headed your way, might want to free up your characters”. 😉

I’m already not gonna make it. I found out about 6:30 this am. 10:30 was my first collect. Second will be 2:30. This’ll be past the deadline. Unless I spend clams I’m out already with out trying

I’ve also noticed I got a “Congratulations” for reaching Level 50 notification this morning!
I reckon TinyCo has been tracking the XPs post level 40 as I have effectively just jumped 10 levels
