Update: TinyCo has changed the toy change time to 10pm PDT. (1am EDT and 0500GMT). This gives you a few extra hours to collect those toys! 🙂
Hey there Clammers. In pure TinyCo fashion, there was a lil update to your games in the weeeeeeeeee hours of the night. What did it bring? Well take a peak below if you want…
Stewie is having a lil Tea Party and you can win toys. He can party every day up to 3 times to get a chance at cool stuff and…a new lil friend, Rupert!
We will update the post with some of the details and bring more as the event goes on and we verify the live game play. It will end on Tuesday, so have fun!
So how does all this work? Well characters around Quahog have tasks that will help Stewie earn the toys he is looking for. You just need to find out who. You will have 3 chances for a Tea Party a day, and the toys change at Noon PDT. So get what toys you can before then.
So far I have been able to still do this event with Stewie NOT unlocked. Bob’s Funland is repaired and this game is still collecting items to unlock him. Let us know if you are unable to play with Bob’s Funland not unlocked or repaired yet. Also just tested game on District 5, Joe not unlocked…still can play this Event. So no worries on Stewie being needed so far.
Tea Party Tasks: (You only get ONE awarded per task when they drop)

Of course there are Decorations to “help” get the toys too… (I don’t know if it is just my game, but a toy dropped for me every single Payout.)
Stewie’s Sandbox: 125 Clams. Drops Giraffes (Uncommon Rate). Payout of $30 & 20XP Every 4 hours.
Topiary Stewie: 200 Clams. Drops Giraffes (Uncommon Rate). Payout of $20 & 15XP Every 2 hours.
Once you gathered the Toys at each of the 3 levels for the party guests (Yes these are the TOTAL amounts of that days toys you need to unlock the box. And no, they do not subtract. 6 toys, plus 8 more to 14 toys, plus 10 more to 24 toys)…
You are then given a Tea Party Mystery Box to open. (It will show up in your “Featured” Menu as a Free item.)

Once you have completed the 3 separate Tea Parties and opened your 3 Tea Party Boxes, the icons to earn the toys will no longer show next to the characters tasks. You will then have to wait for the Tea Party Toy to reset at 12 PDT, then start earning the next one.
You will also notice that you now can go to Level 50 in your games. WOOHOO higher Level. Now that XP collection should start back up again for all of you that it stopped. Lol.

I don’t know what I did wrong but help. I got 3 gifts. It said time to open your present. I got 2 choices…”free” and “buy”. Neither one worked for me. I still have the 6 giraffes but how do I now open my present. Also I’ve noticed that since I started collecting giraffes none of the other objects are dropping at all.

With regards to how many chances one might get to get Rupert, you need to factor in sleep. You aren’t playing this game 24hrs a day because you do in fact sleep. You also eat, you also do other things (hopefully).
Realistically, expect to only send 4 characters every 4 hours 3x per day max. Now figure out your chances.
Coles notes, your not getting Rupert, not unless you plan on paying for him.

I still don’t think Tinyco has “gotten it” so to speak. There has been poll after poll asking for feedback and all of them said things like:
– No to short events
– No to any clam buildings that give guaranteed drops
This event, I can already tell most people won’t get rupert, that is unless you pay of course. I also notice 2 buildings that give guaranteed drops for items that people have the most difficulty getting.
Tinyco just simply does not understand how to build around a micro transaction model game.
Rules of thumb:
1. Do not sell power, or do not sell anything that will give players a clear advantage over free to play players (aka don’t sell any buildings via clams that give any drops (even at 33%).
2. Do not alienate the community – IE: do not give players exclusive access to something because they want pay, this is a gigantic no no.
As they say, I’m out, another one bites the dust, done with this game.

Got my reward for 6 giraffes but now I’m at 19 giraffes and haven’t received the 2nd reward yet. Son 6 + 14 is 20 so I should get it in the next giraffe but I hope I get the 24 at 24 like I’m supposed to

Apparently now toys change at 10 PDT. I think I’ll spend some of the clams I’ve been saving for Consuela on a sandbox. I like the prizes in this one!

Ah! I didn’t send them on tasks because I didn’t have enough time until Noon PDT. Noon came and went, I assumed that since it started in the middle of the night, the first Noon would pass, so I started the tasks.
Now my game says toys change at 10PM PDT! I will only have 5 at that point, so unless it changes again, waste of time.

You need to subtract 8hrs from England local time to get PST.

You are 8 hours ahead of Pacific time in England. So noon in Pacific makes it 8pm in England.

Is Rupert going to be purchasable with clams after the event? I saw on FaceSpace he is under the characters you buy section and when clicking on him it says to buy the Bare Bear Tanning Salon to get him. Not sure if that was a placeholder they were going to use or not.

I’m a little disappointed this task is so short, I refuse to spend anymore money on claims so I will only get items that characters drop. I also work so am unable to check my phone every 4 hours to set characters their tasks. I think it very unlikely that I will get Rupert 😦 I think it would be a good idea to get claims another way, maybe buying them with coins from the game and not real money? Or doing certain tasks a number of times? Give us more options please.
Also, how about putting some carparks and pathways (sidewalks) in as items to buy so we can make our towns a little more realistic?
I love the fact that this district and characters are finally available and that you can’t get them too quickly, but be fair TinyCo, this task time frame is unrealistic.

Collect the toy of the day (toy it’s giraffes) then use those toys to win prizes in the box. One of the prizes (the big prize) is Rupert 🙂

Both points very true. Just collect toys (giraffes right now) for the next 4 hours and 15 minutes. When you get 6, you can open a prize box. The toy will change at 10:00 PM PDT…(we hope)

How do they create a limited time promotion for Stewie when several of us haven’t even been able to unlock Stewie himself? In order to unlock Stewie, you’ve got to have the Indiana Jones Peter and Peanut Butter Jelly Brian. Both of these characters were released mere days before Stewie. Is it all a money thing with the makers of this game? Is it just about wanting us to buy their premium currency? If that’s the case, I can see many players recognizing that there’s no chance of completing the promotions without money and moving on. They should take a page from The Simpsons Tapped Out and make the game more substantive. I already have several neighbors who look like they have stopped playing.

So I’m confused: we can win Human Rupert or do we need to collect 24 boxes each day to unlock him? I noticed under the character list, he requires a ‘Bare Bear Tanning Salon’. I wonder if he’s like Cleveland, whom we unlocked first and then got his house.

You can win him in the box. You earn attempts at the box by collecting the toys of the day (24/ day for 3 spins). 🙂

Past noon PDT no new toy. I wonder if the event starts at midnight PDT (3am EDT, I live in Eastern Time) and the new toy would switch at NOON PDT (3pm EDT) but it’s predicated on when you FIRST sign in when the event has started.
IE…I started at 6am (EDT) before work so 12 hours I should maybe see the new toy at 6pm (EDT) Does that make sense?
Or did I jump the gun and the new toy will not be up until SUnday at 3pm (EDT)
Also, I hope in future events instead of saying changes occur at such and such time, that they’d give a countdown timer so you’d know exactly how much time you have left.

Disregard. Sounds like, from what I can gather, that the toy change will come Sunday at 3pm (ET) and then again on Monday (3ET).
If that is accurate then that would mean a player would have anywhere from 3-9 chances to get Rupert. 3 parties a day, 3 days, 9 tries. So, up to 9 attempts.
I already did my first 3 and got a Pawtucket Truck, Champagne glass and a Stewie Flower.
Here’s hoping tomorrow is better.

When I see topiary stewie in my shopping cart it’s taller and he’s standing on a pedestal, but when you buy it he’s just standing right on the ground. Is this a glitch?

That’s strange, should be just like the image in the “cart”. Try a hard close and see if the graphics load correctly. Anyone else having this problem?

Finally got all items for Falconer Peter, both Joe and Lois finally dropped the last 2 leather gloves back to back. Now I have to wait 12 hours to “create” the costume! GRRR!! I may have to attend a rage support group like I just sent Joe to. It also looks like it may actually be tomorrow before the giraffe toy changes, because it’s past the deadline everyone thought was gonna happen, and nothing happened, yet. We’ll see about tomorrow won’t we?

Also, for those who have unlocked Rupert, do you have unlimited tanning salons? I have put down a few of them because they are free and will assist me in $/XP, but each time I place one I get the ‘Clamtastic’ screen congratulating me for getting Rupert. Is the multiple salons a glitch?

On my first try I get Human Rupert and 100 clams for completing the character set of “Characters You Buy”.
But he has not shown up in my town yet? Do I have to wait until I unlock stewie to see him?

When I went back in to the game, he was there.
He comes with a free building that can be placed more than once! I think that’s a bug (it should have probably been unique?)

If Rupert can be obtained via the box, why is he listed under “Characters You Buy” in the facebook type page in the game. Does this mean there would be 2 Rupert? Or would there be an alternative way of getting him if you don’t “win” him.

I’m not going for Rupert. He is not going to add anything to the game. I missed pee pants and it doesn’t seem to matter. King butt was missed but I don’t remember him from the show so I didn’t care. I did get the roller skating Peter but it doesn’t go towards anything so not all that big of a deal. I’m with other people here. Why waste the time to get these side items if they do not do anything? Also it seems Rupert will be un lockable as a premium character as he is in the premium character list on facespace. Just FYI if you have to have him.

A little concerned here, as my comments created 3+ hours ago are still awaiting moderation…
Oh well, got my 6 giraffes and went to the Tea Party, opened my gift and I got…
Bare Bear Tanning Salon with Human Rupert!!! (which gave me 100 clams for completing a group)…
So, I figure what the heck, speed up some tasks and get to 14, as it is already past 12 noon PDT. I do, but instead of letting me go to the Tea Party, I just get a Sweet Button. I play around awhile, and I can’t figure out HOW to go to the Tea Party this time, but I notice that I still have a FREE Bare Bear Tanning Salon in inventory. WTF? Maybe I didn’t place it last time. So I place it, and it tells me I got Rupert again! (no 100 clams this time though). I go look and I now have TWO BBTS!!
I figure WTH, so I quick complete tasks (burning my entire 100 clams) and get to 24 giraffes, and again it doesn’t send me to the Tea Party, but that FREE BBTS is still there. I place one again, it tells me I won Rupert, and I check inventory and it is STILL there.
I place 2 more, at which point I give up. But now I have more BBTS per square block than Charbucks has “coffee” places.
Me thinks that the Tiny C.O. released an update before it was fully tested.
Oh, but I AM done collecting giraffes – those tasks have disappeared.
