Hey there Clammers. In pure TinyCo fashion, there was a lil update to your games in the weeeeeeeeee hours of the night. What did it bring? Well take a peak below if you want…
Stewie is having a lil Tea Party and you can win toys. He can party every day up to 3 times to get a chance at cool stuff and…a new lil friend, Rupert!
We will update the post with some of the details and bring more as the event goes on and we verify the live game play. It will end on Tuesday, so have fun!
So how does all this work? Well characters around Quahog have tasks that will help Stewie earn the toys he is looking for. You just need to find out who. You will have 3 chances for a Tea Party a day, and the toys change at Noon PDT. So get what toys you can before then.
So far I have been able to still do this event with Stewie NOT unlocked. Bob’s Funland is repaired and this game is still collecting items to unlock him. Let us know if you are unable to play with Bob’s Funland not unlocked or repaired yet. Also just tested game on District 5, Joe not unlocked…still can play this Event. So no worries on Stewie being needed so far.

Stewie’s Sandbox: 125 Clams. Drops Giraffes (Uncommon Rate). Payout of $30 & 20XP Every 4 hours.
Topiary Stewie: 200 Clams. Drops Giraffes (Uncommon Rate). Payout of $20 & 15XP Every 2 hours.
Once you gathered the Toys at each of the 3 levels for the party guests (Yes these are the TOTAL amounts of that days toys you need to unlock the box. And no, they do not subtract. 6 toys, plus 8 more to 14 toys, plus 10 more to 24 toys)…
You are then given a Tea Party Mystery Box to open. (It will show up in your “Featured” Menu as a Free item.)

Once you have completed the 3 separate Tea Parties and opened your 3 Tea Party Boxes, the icons to earn the toys will no longer show next to the characters tasks. You will then have to wait for the Tea Party Toy to reset at 12 PDT, then start earning the next one.
You will also notice that you now can go to Level 50 in your games. WOOHOO higher Level. Now that XP collection should start back up again for all of you that it stopped. Lol.

Ok.. So… I have yet to get rubert! I’m literally sleeping in 4 intervals with my alarm set to remind me.. I only got one open the first day, two yesterday, and two so far today and I’ve gotten the stewie flower,lobster shanty, pond, Herbert’s Ice cream truck and now the dansu dansu. I already had everything except the lobster shanty so this is discouraging

I am in the same position to you. I had it set up to open 4 boxes today and gave my son explicit instructions on what to do. Of course I came home from work and everyone was walking around doing nothing. So much for that plan. I’m sure I will not be getting Rupert 😦

I don’t usually buy items just to get an item for a couple days, but Stewie’s sandbox looks nice outdoors, has a (small) regular presence on the show, and it drops an extra toy every 4 hours, which makes up for that darn sleeping thing I seem to be so addicted to.

I got Rupert on my 7th try but then the sign that said lost connection popped up n the game froze. When I opened it back up I lost Rupert so I tried again n got the island..lol

Has TinyCo told any of you guys precisely what time on Tuesday the Tea Party will end? My guess is 10 pm pdt – 3 tea parties a day X 4 days = 12, the total # of prizes. Hope I’m right!

I’m only able to open 2 boxes a day. There are still 8 prizes left. My last box was the ale truck which was nice but this means I have a 50% chance of getting Rupert. This is not looking promising. Any ideas? I’m a freemium player with about 150 clams. Was really hoping to save up for the maid.

Just keep at it. If later today or tomorrow you still don’t have Rupert, you might consider using some clams to speed up the 4 tasks (wait until they are near completion so it only costs 1 clam per task). This will help get your last box of the day. Good luck 😉

I set my alarm for every 4 hours & collect the goodies & go back to whatever I was doing. At the end of the day you can get the last four gifts you need by speeding up characters for 4 clams. I expect to spend no more than 20 clams to get 11 of the 12 chances.

It’s a sound strategy that gets you real good bang for your clam “buck”. You know Rupert will cost way more than that later.

I actually had to use 8 clams to speed up Bruce. Sadly he did NOT drop a toy and I’m on schedule to open 4 boxes today. But I did get the Lobster Shanty. But with 7 boxes still left I fear Rupert will be the one I will not get. Especially if my schedule goes off.

You never know. Best thing to do is just keep trying…took me 7 attempts in my B game to get him (currently on 5 in my A game and still no Rupert), but for others it unlocked a lot sooner. The best thing to do is keep trying & remember with every box you open your one more closer to unlocking him 🙂

Only got to open one box yesterday and I recoeved the Ale Truck. Woke up this morning and got enough for my second box and WHAM got Rupert!!! His task lost is a little short and his only task is 4 hours until you level him up. So happy to have gotten him for free!

I so far have gotten stewie’s flower, spotlights and stewie’s billboard in that order. I wanted to ask if my pattern matches anyone elses, and if somebody could perhaps tell me what’s to come for me.
On the other note , tinyco really needs to start balencing it’s events, only way for a freemium player to get all the tries is to not sleep longer that 4h at a time. It’s supposed to be game, but it’s turning out to be harder to manage than a job. I’m a freemium completionist, so not getting all the freemium prizes in a game is really making me angry and dissapointed in the game. The game mechanics are good and game and storylines are pretty enjoyable, but tinyco is really screwing freemium completionists over. At least tapped out extends it’s updates when they see , they miscalculated and didn’t give freemium players even a chance at all the prizes. But tinyco doesn’t even do that. Never got king butt, but did get the gorilla. Was 4 pies short for pee pants. In both occasions I was closely short , to get the item. Extensions would had really helped me, but they didn’t extend.
(Of course they extended pee pants event a bit, but it wasn’t enough, cause I had rigged spawn rates, due to bulls roaming my town at the moment). I’m losing some serious sleep cause of this game, and in return I still can’t achieve my goals as a freemium player. This doesn’t even make me want to pay to buy clams, cause I hate gambling, and if this games main way to give out cool stuff is through gambling, then I’m out. I started playing this game less than an hour from its release. I’ve been playing since the very beggining. So far only succesful even they had created was the 4th of july update. And just when you started thinking everyting is getting better… Boom, the Rupert update is impossible for freemium players to open 3 boxes a day. The game system and mechanics are good. Doing an update so often as they do, gives us always reason to be on the game. I see bright future for this game, but only if they start balancing out events better for us, free players.
I’ve rambled enough, just could someone answer the question I asked at the beggining of this comment.

I agree with you. I just decided to sit this one out. I got King Butt as a character and rushed to get that, bought some clams, etc. but he is practically worthless now that I have him, and I imagine Rupert will be the same since he is nonessential to any quest lines. A fun side quest, but the prize itself seems likely to me to have no bearing on the rest of the game.

I just got ripped off!! I had one toy box and opened it and got the lobster shanty but then a consela message popped up and closed my game when I opened the game again my toy box was back I opened it again and got the Pawtucket ale truck!!!!!! Seriously?! WTF!!!!! 😡 I refuse to waste my clams on lobster shanty

Yes. It’s the box that won’t give out the same prize. As you win items, you’ll notice they will also vanish from the “prize” list. The one that shows up when you open your box.

I got Rupert on my second box! I rushed three tasks to get it in before the deadline, but totally worth it. I already have much of what’s available from tea party guests, so I think I’ll only go for one or two more just for the heck of it. I was excited to finally succeed, as I failed to get pee pants and king butt (jelly-yo shots frustration led me to this site).

I was able to open two boxes last night since I rushed them to open. That is the first time I’ve ever done that. I opened another this morning. So far nothing but premium items: Spotlight, lobster shanty (which I’ve wanted forever) and the ale truck. All for only 6 coins. I’m loving this tea party. It’s a great way to earn items that I’m too stingy to buy and distract me from getting Stewie. Getting closer to Rupert!

I have spend 12 clams so I could get 2 boxes. I want to open at least 2 boxes a day.
Also if you won Rupert you should try to get more boxes because of the premium items.

so I won the gold digger island, which I thought would allow me to complete the quagmire task? but it doesn’t recognise that I have bought it, even if I put it in my inventory and try to get it that way, apparently I have to buy another one?

Sadly, yes. The program code is written in a exact sequence of events. It waits for you to trigger each step of the sequence in order to move the quest forward. Right now it “needs” you to make a coin purchase and then placement to complete the task.

You open each box as you hit each marker (6, 14, 24). Go to the featured tab of the “cart”. Don’t save them up.

Well this is pretty much useless for me. It sucks that the only way to get all the special characters (not including the ones you have to buy) like king butt and Rupert is to spend clams. The only way I’m going to get Rupert is if I have Peter, Chris, Bruce, and Quagmire doing the action required constantly with no gaps in between finishing and starting the action and getting the item from them every time. Cause I don’t have the money to spend on clams like some of you people. Seriously why do they expect us to dish out over a $100 to get all this stuff and why do some of you do that?! SERIOUSLY!!!???

Just give it a try for now. Your odds increase for winning Rupert with each box you open. Even if you just open two boxes a day. You never know, maybe Lady Luck will want to prove you wrong. 😉

I put it this way. I don’t mind spending a little money for clams when this game has given me hours upon hours of entertainment. I dont expect to be entertained for free if I were to go out to a concert on a Saturday night. I get more enjoyment out of the game this way and I’m not stuck whining about on the internet.

Yeah and I spent the day reading an awesomely lame horror novel, playing diablo 3 on my elderly Xbox 360 and harvesting coins and items on QFS, but that still couldn’t break me from my funk. I’m curmudgeonly at best. Quiescent all day. Loaded on Coke and toasted subs I departed from society and found no solace in solitude. I think I will go outside tomorrow. Look at a pretty girl and unintentionally creep her out. Maybe stumble into a polish festival and only speak Deutsche. Pay exorbitant fees for the cheapest to prepare food on earth; popcorn. Big day tomorrow. 😉

this whole update is a mess
i hope tinyco is listening:
1) make some sort of pre-announcement so that our characters aren’t occupied by 20hr blueprint collection tasks at the start of the event. simpsons game usually manages this with a 24 hour build task that starts almost any event giving characters ample time to finish up what they are doing, but a simple popup a few days in advance would do.
2) if we win an item we already bought, instead credit us the value in clams or cash. otherwise, there is a disincentive to buy anything because we might win it in an event to come.
3) in an event that relies on careful time management, don’t muck with the start and end times (noon, then 10pm), especially without fair warning. rather just add a day to the event.
4) perhaps explain what will happen when the new toys come around. same characters? with the tasks roll over? otherwise we are left guessing.
5) (opinion) this game is way to non-casual for a casual game. do people really set their alarm clocks to score one extra giraffe? simpsons does this right imo, family guy is too intense.

I agree, I sadly do use a timer. Now with the Bootie event I was getting up late at night to collect and such but I refuse to do it with this event. I’ve been under the weather lately and refuse to loose any more much needed sleep :). My husband and I have started to buy clams (I did end up buying pLace because I as not letting my husband have something I did not..lol) but we use them for certain things and times. In the case of this event, I let the tasks run to the last hour and it’s only 1 clam to finish..

I am. It’s just exhausting mixed with anxiety. I never have time to sit and relax and it takes it’s toll on me. This game does not help. Lol. Would you believe when my anxiety attack flare ups were at their worst I would play FarmVille to occupy my brain?? These games can be rather therapeutic when they are not in a stressful event time. Lol

Question… there are 12 prizes? You get each only one time. The 12 prizes listed above do not include the 20 clam prize that’s listed in the picture? Does that mean there’s actually 13 prizes and even if you get all 3 boxes each day we will still not get 1 of the prizes? And that there’s a chance the very one we don’t get could be Rupert? I’ve used clams to make sure to get all the boxes every day assuming I was pretty much guarenteed Rupert as long as I got all the boxes each day. Is this another case of tinyco advertising something(clams/there was another during the full moon event)and not coming thru or a way to make sure some premium players have to buy him with clams after this is over? Help me out here.… I’m trippin a little

Collect at least 6 toys and you get to open a mystery box for prizes and a chance to win Rupert. Collect another 8 for a total of 14…another box and prize…collect 10 more for a total of 24 and you get to open the last mystery box of the day.

Yes, I’m calling it the Rupert glitch (ain’t I clever..lol). After you win Rupert, it appears you can build as many free salons as your little tanning heart desires. It will most likely vanish before the event ends.

Well incase anyone made the mistake i did and forgot about opening your present after you get it if you dont open it when they switch the item you need to collect you lose the present you earned. Im so angry at this game right now. i dont get how you can earn something then they take it away from you.

hi! I collected 6 giraffes but the banner didn’t pop out. After reading this, I looked at my cart and was still able to open a box even when the toy has already been changed to octopus. Do try it again! 🙂

I gathered 7 giraffes. Now it changed to Squids. But 6 giraffes should have been enough for one tea party? Didn’t get one. So how does this work? You need 24 for one tea party box? And where can I find these boxes?

Once you have collected at least 6, a banner usually pops up, you tap the “sweet” button and the box appears. If this does not happen, look in your “Cart”, in the Featured section.

Just like I commented on earlier. Their timing is off. Now I don’t know what to do. Are other characters going to be used to collect toys? Are the same 4 going to be the ones to use to do tasks with? I’m sitting with all my characters doing nothing when they finish the tasks they were on. I’m scared to make them do anything because I don’t want to miss out on unlocking Rupert. My guys end their tasks for more giraffe toys in 30 minutes. I sent them on it with only 3 hours to spare in case the clock reset and they same characters and tasks were going to be sided for the new toys. That way I might’ve gotten a jump by being finished only 44 minutes into a new day. That way I might’ve had a chance to actually get 24 toys and all three parties. Now what? Now we wait again for them to spring on us the new day. Then we won’t have enough time to fully collect without spending our precious clams. Aggravating. I’m not going to do it though. I’m not giving them a clam. I’ve worked too hard to save them up. I’m not buying them either.
