Hello There Clammers!
How are my favorite Clammers doing this morning? Everyone racking up as much Blam! as you can? So as we finish out week 2 of the Comic-Con Event (or week 1 for some of us) everyone should be earning that Blam! at a decent rate. So whatcha gonna do with all that Blam! you’re collecting? Besides get one heck of an energy drink buzz, you’ll unlock really cool prizes of course!
While many items during the event will cost you some Blam! (or clams), the cool thing about Comic-Con is you’ll earn prizes at various collection points along the way. AND…these prizes won’t take from your Blam! on hand! After all, who couldn’t use a little Blam! pick me up every now and then? So let’s take a look at the first five prizes you’ll unlock during Quahog Comic-Con…
WARNING….MILD SPOILERS AHEAD
There are a total of 10 Blam! prizes ranging in cost from 65 Blam! up to 100,000 Blam! The first five prizes range in cost from 65 Blam! to 15,000 Blam! collected. Remember these are total collected (bottom right) NOT current on hand (top left, next to cash). So it’s a running total for the entire event, so even if you lose some Blam! along the way you’ll still unlock the prizes when your OVERALL total reaches the unlock point.
So let’s break these down shall we?
Phone Booth
Prize: First prize unlocked
Unlock Point: 65 Blam! Collected
Does it Do Anything?: Cool animation with it. When you tap on it it sucks into the ground and disappears. Then it reappears from thin air. REALLY awesome animation! Oh and the light at the top blinks.
Personal Thought: I love this as a first prize (especially at 65 Blam!) ! Really awesome and a great feature for a Comic-Con event. It’s small enough that it fits in just about anywhere, and the animation really adds to the wow factor.
Here are a few shots of it in action:
Rock-It Playground
Prize: Second Prize Unlocked
Unlock Point: 1,000 Blam! Collected
Earns: $60, 40xp/ 4hrs
Does it Do Anything?: Outside of earning money….nope. Not a thing.
Personal Thought: This isn’t a bad second prize, especially since it’s only 1,000 Blam!, but it should do something more. Honestly, it should earn more Blam! to help you progress during the event. The fact that it earns coins is completely useless for this event. So, it looks cool….but it’s essentially pointless. Especially since coins mean nothing right now. Oh it does attract Mutant Stewie though…so it’s one place he’ll go with out impacting your characters.
Gatomobile
Prize: Third prize unlocked
Unlock Point: 5,000 Blam! Collected
Does it Do Anything?: Cool animation with it. It’s basically a low rider, so when you tap on it the hydraulics come out and the car does some neat things. Plus the lights turn on and flames shoot out. Fun little animation!
Personal Thought: This is a fun prize. I love that it’s another car for Quahog and has some cool tricks with it. Also, not a bad prize for the Blam! it requires.
Here are a few shots of it in action:
Sir Lancewart’s Board Games
Prize: Fourth Prize Unlocked
Unlock Point: 10,000 Blam! Collected
Earns: $120, 80xp/ 12hrs
Does it Do Anything?: Outside of earning money….nope. Not a thing.
Personal Thought: I like the design of this one. It’s a fun building with some great design features. BUT…you had to know there was a but coming…just like the Rock Playground I really think it should earn more Blam! to help you progress during the event. Again coins mean nothing right now, we all need Blam! not coins. So, like the playground, it looks cool….but it’s essentially pointless. This one also attracts Mutant Stewie, so another building to draw him away from the ones your characters use.
Outhouse of Loneliness
Prize: Fifth Prize Unlocked
Unlock Point: 15,000 Blam! Collected
Earns: $120, 80xp/ 12hrs
Does it Do Anything?: Outside of earning money….yes. This one is like a hybrid of the other prizes. It earns money AND has animation. When tapped the door opens an the odor of an outhouse escapes….always makes me giggle
Personal Thought: This is one of my favorites, while it too has it’s flaws (it REALLY needs to earn more Blam!) it’s a great hybrid of a building and animation. I’m a fan of the design as well, although looks like it’s better suited for an Arctic District, but it’s still cool.
Here’s a shot of it in action:
So that’s it my friends…the first 5 prizes of Quahog Comic-Con! We’ll be breaking down the next 5 one by one, but these first few seemed appropriate to group together. 🙂
What do YOU think of the first five prizes? Which ones have you unlocked so far? Where have you placed them in your Quahog? Anything you would like to see done differently with the first five? Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

I put my outhouse right against my Fantastic Four headquarters. Keeps it as a little less of an odd-one-out.
I build the headquarters banking on the notion that they’d require it to be built…looks like I was right. 😛

I see everyone is comparing the Phone Booth to different shows, and I’m here to tell you once and for all..
Everybody is Right!
It looks like the Time Machine from “Inspector SpaceTime” from “Community”, it’s a show within A show based on Dr Who.
It Takes off like the Time Machine from Bill and Ted.
And it returns like the Tardis from Doctor Who!
So it’s a 3 in One Time Machine!

Last night, I passed the 10,000 bonus point threshold and won the Board Game shop. I already had Ron and Patrick, and didn’t buy anything else. I even declined picking up the prize right away. But when I got past the prize-announcement screen, my Blam count had dropped from above 4000 to somewhere around 600. I can’t find anything in the game’s help guide to explain why the Blam vanished without buying anything. Is this a glitch, or am I not understanding something? i fthis continues, how can I save enough Blam for a more-expensive purchase?
LikeLike
The items in the Comic Con icon in the lower right corner are ones that you earn. So they will not impact your Blam! count. Unlocking characters like Ron, or purchasing items within the Event Menu will cost you Blam! and impact that total on the top of Blam!.

I think my XP lines stuck at half way through level 40. Not sure how long it is to go from level 40 to level 41 but its taken me about a month (i’ve got about 50 buildings). Anyone else having this issue??

I know people exclaim with the new level 50 it looked like it was going slow, but TinyCo verified that it was indeed moving. If you think there is an issue, you can always contact them via your game menu and ask. 😉

Mine was the same way. It look like 3 weeks to get from level 40 to 41. But then I flew through 41 and 42. I think it’s just something in the programming that you need a lot of xp to get to 41.

I’m close, but not quite, to 15k at 14067. I’ve unlocked all the buildings so far as well as Patrick Stewart, and I’m one movie away from having Ron Perlman unlocked. Hopefully I’ll be able to get Takei by the end of it, only time will tell.

The phone box seems more like Bill and Teds phone booth, not the Doctors. Still like it, though. And the Outhouse of Madness looks great, can’t wait for it.

I don’t remember how their phone booth reappeared, but you are right, it definitely disappears like their booth. And then maybe the idea is that it reappears like the Doctors? Clever if that was what they were going for. 🙂

Has anyone else been getting the “std::bad_alloc” error message? I know that I don’t have any STDs so that’s not the problem. It seems to resolve itself if I fully close the app but it’s somewhat annoying. On another note I’m digging the triforce in the board game building and I know people keep saying the phone booth is an homage to the TARDIS but as a Community fan I see Inspector SpaceTime (which I know is a homage to Doctor Who but still). Watch out for the Blorgons!

I got that several times last night, yes VERY annoying. Fortunately the hard close does make it go away *knocks on wood* 🙂

Alissa as you have rushed your B game for the prizes does the factory that spawns minion stewies pay out Blam as well?
LikeLike
Nope…not one prize pays blam! Although the Q does give you more nerds (but it pays out coins not blam! for the “rent”…nerds still give you blam!) The factory is supposed to spawn little stewie’s in your game, however I have yet to see one. I don’t know if it’s something that’ll trigger later (since it’s still pretty early)

When I first got the phone booth it didn’t do anything when I clicked in it so I was really disappointed, several times since I got it I tried and still nothing but when I read today that it did somthing, I tried again and it worked!
There must have been a glitch that they just fixed because as of last weekend it did nothing.

First time poster here. Right ow I am at 28K Blam! and really look forward to getting Red Hot! I went ahead and used my Blam! on the buildings just in case they have another weekend event. Saves stress! Was sad the RP stuff was so little. Seemed like there was a lot more for PS to do. Side note: Anyone saving up batteries in case the future cars take more Stewie Blasts than the last one?

It’s possible…i’m curious to see how they’ll play out the rest of the cars and what they have up their sleeves 🙂

Am I unusual? Has anyone else held off completing the initial questline to prevent the spawning of mutant Stewie? Perhaps I am cracked but I was not keen on Ron so I couldn’t see the advantage of moving on until the lovely Felicia makes her appearance. I am just hoping Ron isn’t needed to unlock her… if so my little gamble will backfire royally. As it is I have had a clear run on all the other questlines. I like the cars in the game but not enough~perhaps if we could place them on a road or even better they go for a drive. Anyway please let me know if I am crazy because I find it increasingly hard to tell!

Well just be careful. You have to complete the Creature from the Goo Lagoon questline to progress in the event. Just like Ron wouldn’t appear until after the Comic Con questline was complete, the next character may not appear until after the Mutant Stewie Questline is complete. So by not running it you’re risking not advancing in the event, ie not getting new characters.

I’m not a fan of Lancewort’s. It doesn’t seem to have a thing to do with comicon…there’s a universe full of comicon/superhero/spaceadventure stuff they could have made,,,Lancewort’s, Kitternet Cafe, Shoots & Lads, S&M&More, are all fine general buildings, but as Special Event Buildings are lame and don’t feel very on-theme. Give me a giant GL style central power battery, a super villain supply store instead of “a buncha tools” a gamma ray factory, an experimental testing facility, an ape statue of liberty, a super-serum juice bar, a radioactive petting zoo, an atlantis island or war sub to go in the water….just off the top of my head a few of the hundreds of better options.
Also…Blam seemed to be moving along the first few days, but production has slowed to a crawl without any blam earning quests to complete…Ron is taking forever to unlock.. More buildings need to earn blam, this event is beginning to feel like it’s worth neither the time nor the money and the enjoyment factor is nose diving.

I have about 22,000 blam… So I am on pace to get 100,000.. As far as the buildings collecting blam, I too wish they would.
As for getting coins there was a point where I just spent weeks collecting coins. Got the achievement for five hundred thousand then spent half of it about a week before the event started for iOS then during the week from when iOS got the update until I did on the thirty first I just had my workers (2) going non-stop freeing up all the land and building the Barrington hotel, the playhouse, Cherry pit, and some other building figuring they would eventually become quests. Now Ihave coins aplenty… Back up to 430,000. So have enough for now, blam would be nice.
I am closing to freeing Ron. Need 6 puppies, 2 reels and 1record. Should have him free by Monday…. I would think based on what I have been getting.

I’m closing in on the 10,000 blam prize, really want to get Red Hot Lois then the big Q building. Since it spawns more nerds, that will help to reach the top tier prizes. Any word on the spawn rate for the big Q building? That strip of uncleared land by the water will cost $225,000 total to clear, already at $150,000, so collecting coins ain’t that bad – for now.

Its one thing to kick PS out of the building. I would much rather him just be stuck inside but no it won’t do that at all for some reason.

Send them an in game message, let them know how annoyed you are about it (but in a respectful way). They need to hear the complaints about Stewie.

It took me three attempts to complete that task because of the same reason. Very irritating.

I sacrificed a battery to have PS finish relaxing. Stevie doesn’t immediately kick him out when he latches onto the building. If you time it right you can zap Stewie and finish the task before he has another chance to latch onto the Spa. It usually happened around the 2hr mark for me.
I am absolutely bummed that I’ll have to shelf out 500 clams each for Bryan Cranston (and Nathan Fillion later) though. I know they have the buy clams and get blam deal but 500 clams is just insane!

I couldnt even complete the 4 day mission and get 15 stewies because mine only spawned like only 2 a day at the max and i constantly check on the game so it wasnt my fault.

I like the playground as a nice decoration in my entertainment district but yeah should earn blam!
At least it has a decent pay out time. Thing a ma gadgets is ridiculous getting 30 every 24h, iv never even used it other than the task, when Ron has a 4 hour battery task why would anyone put PS on a 24h one?
Sat on about 160k coins currently so might purchase the new land on the left because I imagine I can build up a hefty supply again before district 9 is out.

I Agree with you all there should be more ways to earn blam. That 100000 not looking likely. I also think that the 75clam boxes are pretty expensive for what you get.
On a side note. Does anyone know if Ron will disappear tomorrow or if we have till the end of the event. Only 3 puppies away now and would be willing to pay 10 or 20 clams to keep him after he’s already taken 5k of blam

Something has to change for anyone to unlock the 100k prize. I hope I’m wrong but it looks like one would need 10+ bartender premium items spitting out 250 Blame per 8 hours to earn. Only thing I can think of to save us is something like the Jelly-O shot from the Kingdom of the Full Moon event to even come close. Which I’m betting we will see something similar.

Consider that the blam rate should grow as you unlock new characters that also produce blam.

Even though you may not like that they collect coins NOW, remember that soon, you will need coins again, and having more unique buildings to farm will definitely help 😉 especially if the price goes up like it did with the last group of land/buildings

Oh I completely agree, but if they earn blam! now and then when the event’s over go back to earning coins (like I’m sure the Blam! trucks will do) it’s the best of both worlds 🙂

Totally agree. Will always compare this game to TSTO and this is one of the nice things about buildings during those events – they generate event currency.
Don’t have the outhouse yet, but do really like the phone booth.
LikeLike
Exactly. That is how Simpsons Tapped Out handles it’s Event Currency earning items. They spit out the Event Currency up until the event ends, but when it ends it is switched over to spitting out money.

Working my way towards the outhouse. So far I really like this event, but if they continue to restrict the event tasks to the first few characters you can unlock going forward it will severly limit the fun factor. Premium characters should also always have event tasks, because right now they are basically worthless if you up to date.

I have to agree with everyone, it is pretty hard to get blam with just a few characters, and event Buildings Should drop blam, or even friend check ins.. but my coins are rackin up for district 9 haha

lol yes, my coin count was down to like 8,000 after i built all the land and got all the buildings for district 9…now it’s nearing 100k. I’ll have plenty for District 9 since the event is still 4+ more weeks! 😉
LikeLike
I agree that now that all the land has been bought the coinage is rebuilding quickly (mine is almost back at 100k) ..but I think it will be needed somewhat soon as well. First I don’t think they will wait until the end of the event to release the next district…they didn’t last time. 2nd and more importantly I have a theory. My theory is since you can try to win prizes right now with clams with the Brian Bot..that in a few weeks the Stewie bot will be selling chances for prizes with coinage..yes a theory but I don’t think the Stewie Bot is just for looks

Is it wise to use the Blam for the buildings? I just bought the S&M&More I had the feeling that S and M Lois will need it. But I haven’t unlocked her yet.
I can’t seem to find a pro’s and con topic for those building.

Blam! Buildings i’d hold off on for now. You don’t know if they’ll add more and what you’ll need to unlock various characters as the event progresses. For me I always wait till the end to purchase, unless I need them to complete a questline. Right now no characters interact with any of the blam! buildings, except for the Gadget shop. And they all only earn $ and xp, no blam!…so for me they’re all cons for now. 🙂

Got all five of those, but I’m not even halfway to the next prize yet so I’m not sure if I’ll get much more than Lois. I do agree that they are all nice in one way of another but the lack of Blam dispensing buildings and characters in this event is getting frustrating.
Sure you can unlock the new celebrities but it basically takes me the whole week after they appear to even get close to doing that (don’t have Ron yet and I assume a new character will show up tomorrow). So they aren’t really helping. Not to mention that I’m still working on getting Stewie – just in case I need him at some point.
I appreciate that Blam tasks are focused on the earlier characters so new players can join in, but why punish players that have been playing for longer? I have a bunch of characters wandering around just earning money (that I can’t spend) when they could be helping to earn Blam.
Even if it was just giving all the other characters ONE task (of 8/12/24 hour length) that would be better than nothing.
