The time has come and the wait is over…Halloween is here!!!!!
More details as we go through them….but for now know that Peter kicks things off…and you’ll most likely get the popup saying reload for an awesome new event..
UPDATE BUNNY 730PM EST: For iOS and Android having crash issues, try again. iOS make sure you are on iOS 6 and completely updated. Android, make sure you download the newest update from the market and running on version 1.3.2.2 for the app. These should help with the iOS blue screen and the Android neighbor visits crashing.
UPDATE BUNNY 215PM EST: Jailhouse Meg items should stop dropping now. A patch has been pushed from TinyCo. Please try force close/restart to clear this.
As for the issue of the Spellbook/Portal sticking and not able to clear the task, they are working on it.
We’re working on a spell to fix the crashing bug with the Spelbook. So far, yelling out “insectum reparo!” has not worked.
ANNNNNNNND They just pushed a patch for this. Try to force close and restart to put it in effect if you don’t see it.
Update 11:55am EDT: Guys we’re working to get the info as fast as possible, but with everyone hitting the servers at once we’re getting the same connection dropped screens you are. So we as that you be patient and give us just a bit of time to try and pull as much info as we can… 🙂
Also, there seems to be a little “hiccup” when Drunk Programmer Kevin flipped the switch (I guess it wasn’t sobered up enough)…and Android users will see different color tress but nothing else. It’s coming, just be patient it should hit shortly.

Ok so first…I’m sure you’re all asking…What the heck is going on?
Peter, in typical Peter fashion, has decided to tick off the dead. In doing so Peter accidentally opens a dark portal in the Quahog cemetery and unleashes all manner of ghosts and goblins on the city…your job is to help round up these ghost, goblins and ghouls!
As always..the game will guide you through the process. So if you’re feeling confused just read the dialogue and see what the game is telling you to do. You can also ask us. We’re always happy to help 🙂

We’ll have full posts explaining the ins and outs of each aspect of this event, but for now…here’s a quick rundown.

Here are the event details from the game itself:
Halloween District:
Much like Full Moon & Comic Con the Halloween event has it’s own district…pretty much in the same spot. Here’s a look at the district when yo first start up your game..
Inside this district is where you’ll find the Portal and the witch’s cauldron (more on those later). The Haunted House is also located here.. for repair. (more below).
Here’s how the district looks after you’ve started and built up a few things..
This event has two types of currencies….
Spirit Vials
Fright Points
Spirit Vials are used to purchase event exclusive items
Fright points help you increase your fright level, and unlock more content.
You can earn each by doing various tasks
New Costume:
Ghostbuster Peter
You’ll need Ghostbuster Peter to clear the Terror Dogs…It takes 2 hrs to clear 1 Terror Dog. You’ll earned 10 Spirit Vials and 2 Fright Points every time you do. And a chance for Terror Dog Bones.
Required to unlock:

15 Ghost Dusters (uncommon): Earned by: Make Quagmire Order New Toys OR Make Peter Dig Through Attic OR Make Jerome Borrow a Halloween Costume OR Get From Macabre Curiosities.

Much like Comic-Con we’ll be given challenges to complete in an allotted amount of time to unlock cool prizes.
The first prize is….
The Ghostbuster Sign
Here’s how you complete the first challenge. After you craft Ghostbuster Peter the following challenge will popup:
You have 3 days to clear 12 Terror Dogs in Quahog. Again you need Ghostbuster Peter to do this. And each dog takes 2 hrs to clear….
SIDE NOTE: This challenge will trigger around completion of “Who You Gonna Call” Part 1.
Diane Simmons
Peter and Quagmire decide it’d be fun to dig up Diane Simmons! Here’s how you get her…
The quest to unlock her is called… Hell Hath No Fury Pt. 1
First you have to dig up/repair her Gravestone. This costs 250 Spirit Vials and takes 8hrs. Once you find her you only have FIVE DAYS to unlock her or she’ll disappear forever…
To unlock her you have to craft using your Cauldron. Here’s what you’ll need:
-Brew Chomps the Zombie in the Witch’s Cauldron
-Brew the Electricity Ball in the Witch’s Cauldron
(We suggest to wait to on digging her up and starting the countdown until Peter’s costume is built.)

Family Guy Addicts 
It says to decorate for Fright Points, but do things like the Scary Tomb, Jacked Up Lantern and Macabre Coffin do anything to help the increase of ghosts? And should I be spending Vials on them? I don’t want to spend Vials on stuff that we might possibly get as prizes.
My wife seems to be getting more ghosts than me but we’re at the same level with the same decorations. (I play her game while she’s at work so she doesn’t miss out on stuff.)

The ghosts will vary. It all depends on that persons finished tasks, characters, and where they are in the event.
The more FP you get, the more ghosts are released. As you keep leveling up more will come and vial drops increase.

I’m a little nervous about buying any of the premium items that drop vials since I bought the Blam! truck during that last event that was sort of a rip off. I love the event so far! I’m just worried I’ll spend the clams and then something with a better drop rate will be released! On the other hand, it’s best to get these things early on for it to be most beneficial. Any thoughts on this anyone?

I see vials dropping pretty frequently without them. But…it is only 24 hrs into the event, so hard to say what future will bring. They do look to be the main currency. I say give it a week then re evaluate how quickly YOU are earning the vials.

Loving the event so far, I did give in and brought the Pet Cemetry, I like the film it’s named after, it looks cool, and I figured it’s an investment in helping me get to the 30 Terror Bones needed for Diane. Looking forward to see what other dead characters they bring back, there’s quite a few to choose from, I have a feeling that like Comic Con, we’ll get a new one each week, along with an outfit. I’ll be happy with whoever they give us, but would love to see Francis Griffin, Horace, and Loretta. Keep up the good work guys, I always check your site daily, and thanks to the info you provided I haven’t started digging Diane up yet, and will hold off for now on.

I think there is a glitch with my game 😦 district 7 isn’t activating, and I’ve unlocked Brian but there has been no quest to clear the bulls. Also, the event stuff is not triggering after a few quests to do with it and I have checked all of my roads but there are no candies. Any help?

What is this “slimer” quest/thing people keep talking about? When is it triggered?

If you’re on android, the quest will come up after you complete I ain’t afraid of no ghosts pt. 4. And it’s just a quest that pops up for Android users where you tap slimer (who will randomly appear in your town like ghosts) to earn more vials.

No, he’ll only appear on Android. So even if you have the quest there he won’t spawn on an iOS device.

For what it’s worth, my BF and I play on both android and iOS and I have seen Slimer spawn in both of our towns on iOS 🙂

Cool. Do you two swap devices? I believe it works similar to other items. Once triggered on Android, you can return to iOS to continue it.

Yes, when I found out about the android exclusive Slimer, I logged on in android to start the task (also had it glitch out and finish early like many others. For me that happened when I logged back in on iOS.) For us it worked the same as with Rollocop Joe. He respawned in both of our iOS towns last night and again earlier today. My BF even got a jar of bones from him in his town! So he apparently giving out goodies too!

I believe the timer starts when you “find” her…so when she first appears, even locked.

So I was browsing the FAQs and I came along to Dianne. Well, even in there, they contradicted themselves. One sentence they say you need 5 days to complete her then the very next you need 7. I did send them a ticket alerting them of the error. Maybe if enough people complain, they can change it like they did with Rupert.
Btw thanks for all of your help with tips about not starting her. I almost jumped the gun but randomly waited for some reason.

Initally TinyCo said 7 days but when you get to the quest for her it says 5 days. So we went with the lower number so players don’t miss out if that’s the case.

Hey guys, quick question;
If i have all of peter’s ghostbuster costume stuff BUT i have like 490 spirit vials and i use the small amount of clam it’s asking to finish/create the costume, will i lose that 490 spirit vials?
(I know this is probably a stupid question but someone said there’s a little glitch/bug to it and i wanted to see if it works)

Yes, you will lost them. That’s why the clam number was reduced so much. If you had less vials it would cost more.

Yes once you find her (ie dig up the grave and have her pop up), that’s when the timer will start.

So I was sitting in my bed setting my town for the night when I looked at the fried eggs and the psychic cards. I thought about for a second, remembered the movie, and proceeded to laugh for about five minuets straight. Loving the event so far, and I love TinyCo for some of those subtle hints that they throw in.

I have also lost my tap Slimer quest, but get messages when he escapes. Where does he spawn, by the Ghost Busters Headquarters?

No he just appears in the town.

I had a glitch where every time I opened the game the Slimer counter went up. So I cleared the quest without ever finding him.

I have that noted in my FAQ for him. He will still keep showing though after you clear the quest. So watch for the pop up when you enter the town that he is back and you got to find him.

Hmm, it’s been about 24 hours since I cleared the quest and I’ve seen no sign of Slimer (nor notice that I’ve missed him). That makes a grand total of one times I’ve seen him since the event launched, and I check my game something like every 30 minutes (don’t tell my boss) except for about 6 hours a night when I sleep.

If I were to spend clams, would it be a good investment to buy the pet cemetery since it always drops terror bones? I could wait for Ghostbuster Peter for a chance at terror bones, but it isn’t guaranteed doing it that way. Also, does crafting Diane only require the chomps zombie and the electric ball? I thought I saw somewhere that she requires terror bones also. Maybe the terror bones required mean what’s needed to craft chomps zombie and electric ball. Which is correct? Any help with these questions would be SWELL! (That’s for you, Bunny!) LOL

The bones will come in handy to make things in the cauldron. I am not sure just how “good” it will be to have. It looks cool. Just hard to say as each week new brew items unlock and we can’t know what ingredients they will require til they do. I just know Diane needs a LOT of them.

You have to understand…it didn’t tell you to build the grave. That’s something you did all on your own when you tapped the hammer. If you follow along with the quests as they popup, which we always tell you to do…even in this post, then you’d know about the timer aspect.

That’s a pretty poor argument. The hammer is right there and it tantalisingly teases that a new character is buried there. Just because there was no quest prompt does not mean that people are wrong to try and build it.
Reading a fan-made blog should not be required to fully understanding the rules of an event. I held off digging her up because I read what it said here but you can’t expect that even 5% of the players regularly check in and heed your warning.
It’s poor design because people are so clearly unable to get her without GB Peter.

All i’m saying is, don’t get upset that the timer started if you jumped ahead of the game. It’s the same thing with Vinny. If you started to build the pound and found him and the clock started for the free item, don’t be upset that you didn’t know it was coming if you jumped the gun with it.
Personally I don’t think the hammer should appear until AFTER the quest pops up…

I have to agree with this. I mean when u see a hammer or an option to build something u build it just so u can be up to date with the game. I think they give people reasonable time to get stuff even though a lot of people complains about it but something like Dianne is bad. I didn’t dig her up yet base on my experience with the game and until bunny & Alissa give the ok, heheh. But I do feel bad for the ones that already did.

Has anyone dug up Diane and are you able to unlock her with clams rather then make the required items? If so how many clams does it cost. Just undecided whether to spend some money on the pet cemetery so I can start getting dog bones. They seem a bit few a far between as the only thing that drops them is the haunted house and the dogs. With these not being garentee drops it will take forever to collect 40+ dog bone jars. 😦

With all characters waiting to be unlocked, you can always skip collection and just tap on the lil lock by them (in this case by her) and see what the direct buy out would be to get her. Otherwise, it’s a matter of hurrying and unlocking peter to get the dogs, buy the cemetary, or speed up the drops from the Halloween house which are random.

Sorry you have to mod this comment but I’m going to say again, I’m so excited for this event. I’ve read the site FAQ for event and the event announcement and earnings table several times.
The information is excellent and well organized. If you just take a breath and read it, it’s there.
I’m amazed what you pulled together in such a short time and I’ve avoided digging up Dianne too early, as well as have been able to find the characters that earn. It’s hard to see in their tasks, but you points out it’s where the money was before and…voila.

I got the new update for iOS 8.0.2 and it still as minor crash issues however there seem to be random at min and no trigger that I can tell yet I just click and crash then reload click and nothing then reload and click on different item and crash it’s become rare but it’s still there have informed tinyco but it’s less of a problem as I said it’s become rarer just thought il let you know

I did end up getting the paranormal shop for 50 clams. I figured tom tucker was going to give me 35 so I wasted 15. I am hoping that it will help with the drop rate for ghostbusters peter and maybe it will drop items for the next outfit as well.

Just an FYI, going strictly by how the previous two events have gone, premium buildings that drop items needed for characters only drop items for the character they are released for. Once the next character/skin comes out they will most likely release 3 more premium buildings. Again, this is just based off what they have done in the past. I must say though that these are the best looking premium buildings they’ve released. Maybe I’m biased because I love Halloween so much though 🙂

i just started district 9 as the new event hit (YAAAAA ME) and am happy to see that i can work on jailhouse meg beside ghostbuster peter. nice that enough characters used are different that i can focus on peter but still work slowly on jailhouse meg. i hope it stays this way so i can make some progress on district 9 as the event plays out. will focus on the event but i so far am happy with so many characters being used all across the board.

Are all your characters available to perform the tasks needed? Do they need to level up more? Building placed?

I think there is a glitch with some of these. I have all these characters and they are high enough level to have all tasks unlocked and I have no buildings in inventory. I do see king butt’s task for earning vials so I know what that looks like, but the rest of these characters aren’t showing vials on any tasks, not even the 1 day tasks.

So at least 8 new costumes(Peter/Quagmire/Joe/Cleveland Ghostbuster, Stewie Duck, Meg Slutty Cat, possibly Connie Slutty Witch, Pink Brian) and 1 new character(Diane Simmons) in this event, I like it.
This would be the perfect event to make Death available as an unlockable, too.

Why do you think you wont make it? The game JUST started. Not even 24hrs. Don’t judge, jury, and executioner something that just began. Give it some time. Play, enjoy, have fun. Don’t overthink it all. 😉

The wait is unbearable. I’m still sending people to help unlock Stewie, and trying to figure out if – once the event starts – I should be prioritising earning event currency, or if that will become as plentiful as Blam was and I should be scrambling to unlock Stewie in case he gets involved in the event. I’m also kind of hoping that if Kindle is delayed much longer, there isn’t a weekly event that is going to be too difficult to finish. I don’t want to miss out on the car, for example, because I only had 2 days to get the sign, for example.

Is anyone else having an issue trying to purchase clams? It won’t let me purchase any. When I click on one of the packages Consuela pops up saying they’re fixing it.

So the recent update has not worked at all on my device (samsung galaxy S3) and the game still cashes after 30,20 or 10 seconds (if that…). I don’t think that there is anything that I can do about this due to my (apparently) ancient device so I’ll have to play this game vvvery slowly and often by repeating the same task over and over again and force closing the game after each task or collection has been completed.
Pah!
Still, I do have pink Brian now…

Not much help but I’m using an original galaxy note and the specs are pretty much the same as the S3, my game runs fine.
During comic-con I had a lot of crashes, what seemed to help was putting away most animated buildings/objects and things that weren’t needed, scrolling slowly, not zooming out too far, tapping buildings one at a time (too many quick taps would crash me every time) and waiting for the game to fully load after Quahog appears. Restarting the phone can sometimes help when a game starts crashing repeatedly.

I’m on the same ancient device and I don’t crash nearly that often. I do tend to close all apps often and I’ve moved all my pics to the sim card to free up space. Hopefully that will help.

I’m confused about the ghost spawn rate. They appear to be spawning a lot faster than the timer is suggesting. Unless I’m missing the point…

The timer I am still playing with. If they’re appearing faster, it’s a good thing. 🙂

I’m not complaing but it seems the same for me. The timer said more in 8 hrs but I’ve busted at least three sets of ghosts so far, After the 8 hours the timer changed to 60 minutes to release a terror dog but more ghost have appeared in that time frame. the terror dog just released and now the time is saying 60 minutes until more ghosts. It’s getting confusing but as long as ghosts and dogs keep appaering i’ll keep busting them.
Do we know if there is a maximum number of ghost and dogs you can have in your town yet? just wondering as It’ll take me a day or two to get Peters costume before I can clear the terror dogs and I can foresee people complaining about the timer if it is alternating and stops dropping dogs because the town is full.

Well it’s official I already did the wrong thing! I unburied Dianne. Because of time zone I only just got up so I hadn’t gone on the site wth am I going to do now. I know this is just a silly free game but I’m now going to go sob in a corner. Why do a timer like that especially without putting some kind of warning in. If anyone else has made the same mistake let me know I’m now feeling really stupid. Considering lodging my opinion with tc but will wait till feeling better.

Event looks awesome.. In 2 minds though if I should continue trying to unlock Mayor West & Tom Tucker before Halloween…? great to see other characters ear mining towards vials also, eg Consuela etc. (Should of bought Cranston)

More stuff! More buildings! More awesome! Some more land would be even better, with all the goodies from ComiCon and District 9 I am way out of space and a lot of my really nice stuff is now stashed in my inventory where I can’t look at it. Please TinyCo, how about some more real estate?
