Hello There Clammers!
Halloween has arrived in Quahog! And Peter, in typical Peter fashion, has decided to tick off the dead. In doing so Peter accidentally opens a dark portal in the Quahog cemetery and unleashes all manner of ghosts and goblins on the city…your job is to help round up these ghost, goblins and ghouls! And while he’s at it he’s decided there weren’t enough ghostly figures wandering around Quahog that he goes and digs up Diane Simmons!
Of course to enjoy all Diane has to offer in TQFS you’ll have to unlock her, which is fairly easy, depending on how much patience you have. So let’s take a closer look at the details behind this serial killer…
Diane returns to Quahog via the Halloween Event. You’ll find her 6′ deep and you’ll have to dig her up. It’ll cost you 250 Spirit Vials and take 8hrs to dig her up. Once you’ve freed Diane you’ll have FIVE DAYS to unlock her or she’ll go back into her grave never to be heard from again. So make sure you’re ready to unlock her before you start digging her up….
Note: Terror Dog Bones are required to unlock her. Make sure you have Ghostbuster Peter BEFORE you dig her up.
Unlocking Diane isn’t awful, it’s just with a short timeline to do it in you can really feel the crunch. To unlock Diane you’ll need to craft the following in the cauldon:
-Chomps the Zombie
-Electricity Ball.
You must craft BOTH items via the Cauldron. You do not have to craft items in order, so you can skip other items and jump right to these too. To Craft the Electricity Ball you’ll need 200 Spirit Vials and 10 Terror Dog Bones. To Craft Chomps the Zombie you’ll need 200 Spirit Vials and 20 Terror Dog Bones. Note: Terror Dog Bones will be used when you craft something. So you’ll need 30 Terror Dog Bones all together to craft both items.
Tip: You can craft both items BEFORE digging her up and they should count towards her once she’s unlocked. However, my strategy is to collect enough Terror Dog Bones (30) to craft the two items, then dig her up and then craft both items. (just to play it safe)
Remember the clock starts as soon as you “find” her. Which means as soon as you repair the grave and click that check and she first appears…that’s the moment the clock will start.
Diane IS voiced.
So now that we know HOW to unlock Diane, let’s take a look at her tasks once she’s unlocked:

There you have it….the devilish details on bringing this serial killer back to Quahog! As you can see, once unlocked Diane will be a great help in collecting more Spirit Vials and Fright Points. She also comes with a full questline, Hell Hath No Fury, which you can view here.

Omg!!!! She is awesome I got her yesterday but i didnt have GhostBusting Peter and I still got her I just had chomp and electricity ball and i clicked on the items and it said you unlocked Diane Simmons!! Like when you get a new character But I Love Her She is the best character for Halloween.!!!!!

made chomps and the electric ball before digging her up,dug her up and got her right off the hop. All the items i have brewed in the cauldron have not made a different item i got what i wanted.Dianne also has a quest where she makes traps only takes four hours is awsome.So far for a free game this is awsome

I was not able to unlock diane (2 min left with 17 ingredients left) but from what I can see, her quests are not very interesting and just occupy other characters

I’m very unhappy with this Diane Simons thing… I mean: i had like 26hours left when GB was unlocked 😦
200 clams just to unlock her, seems like waaaay too much for a small sidequest…

Did anyone brew the electricity ball & chomps the zombie BEFORE they dug up Diane Simmons or started her 5 day timer? Just curious if I do this if it will count towards her or if I should just wait. Thanks!

So I didn’t get Diane I’m slightly homicidal cuz of the fact but don’t worry I’ve doubled on my meds once again lol anyway what I’m wondering is since I didn’t get her will mr weed and Francis still pop up eventually? I remember with the flagpoles during comicon aside from Patrick Stewart I was working on unlocking 2 at a time. I will be highly irate if they don’t pop up just cuz I ran out of time on Diane. And yet still no one will succumb to death I promise lol I’m just too damn lazy lol

Got both items, electra ball + zombies 2 hours before deadline.
Then Consuela pop up appeared at least 20 times telling me ‘oh no’an to try again to connect. I was tired, went to sleep. Woke op next morning.. and WTF no Diane Simmons. While I played her free the night before, in between the game crashing.
Same when setting 10 tasks in a row game sometimes jams and I have to do it all over again.
so sad about this… mailed tiny co and hope can do a mercy fix.

Another thing to keep in mind is you can have your worker dig up Dianne but as long as you don’t click the check mark, the 5 day timer doesn’t start. I had my worker start the process and freaked out cause I didn’t have GB Peter yet. i didn’t tap the check mark till i did get peter, and the 5 day timer started.

Huh…so I have no chance because I ‘dug’ her up too early. That shouldn’t be allowed to happen; there should always be some way of completing tasks. I consider this a bug.

I concur with Alissa. I dug up the grave, not knowing what it was for, before I finished crafting Ghostbuster Peter. I purchased the cemetery as soon as I realized what I did. Once i crafted Ghostbuster Peter, his sole task was zapping terror dogs in order to get the bones. I brewed the zombies first and then the electricity ball since it would be easier to get 10 jars of bones instead of 20; but 6 one way, half a dozen the other I suppose. All in all, I got Diane with 2 or 3 hours to spare. 5 days is more than enough, even if Ghostbuster Peter is still in the works. Lesson learned: don’t start repairs of anything until you know what it is for 😀

Thanks, I did try. But GB Peter took far too long to get. My time ran out earlier this evening. I still needed nine bones so it wasn’t even close. Her ‘soul’ has now departed.

It’s really frustrating how the menu screen glitch made me inadvertently release Diane Simmons early. By the time I got all the rare tarot cards for Ghostbuster Peter, I had about 36 hours to collect 30 bones. Right off the bat, this event has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

You DO NOT need them for Diane. They’re not in the game yet. The banshee tears are ONLY needed at this point for Octomom…which is NOT needed to get Diane.

Since there’s no way I can collect all the necessary items in time to save Diane, I’ll be very happy when she returns to the grave and I don’t have to see anything related to her again. If there are many more futile quests like this, I’ll just quit altogether.

I unlocked her. I have unlocked everyone but Tom tucker and I only need one more mustache crème for him do maybe one more day.
On a side note did you all read her face space posts? No way she was at the town hall meeting eating cheese and crackers. Just saying…

Wish I would have seen this post before starting the event. After digging up her grave I still had to make gb Peter which in turn left me less than 48 hours to collect 30 jars with no clams.
Was hoping to finally unlock stewie to get 25 free clams to make this possible, but I am 3 weeks in to collecting plutonium and still need 1.
Have 7 hours left and need 5 more bones. So much for setting my alarm and going full steam on this one. Waste of time.

Took me four days to craft ghostbusters Peter, because I started digging up Diane straight away (yes, I should have checked this site, but I honestly didn’t think I would be punished for trying to move forward in an event). Got less than 20 hours to go before she expires, and I only have 5 bones at present. Even if I had enough time to get the other 25, which I don’t, or even if I had Slimer, which I don’t, I have to go to work now, where I am not allowed to have my phone on me. This has already left a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of this event 😦

I agree, I wasn’t aware I would have only 5 days so that’s a bummer since I just got ghostbuster peter and only have 11hrs to get Diane.

Diane is a nice touch. Would it be possible to get James woods in on this? Mr weed is excellent. Francis and morts wife are minuses. Only because those characters didn’t appeal to me personally. I want greased up deaf guy bertrum and the guy that runs the gas station. I was also hoping for Halloween to bring monsters like Frankenstein wolf man Dracula but I like the way their going with this keeping it closer to family guy. That would be a complaint about comicon people that they are not family guy characters. I know some of them had momentarily been on like Patrick is susie but hellboy doesn’t say family guy to me whereas James woods would.

How am I supposed to finish collecting the bones when the Terror Dogs in my town won’t replenish?!? I need 4 more to unlock Diane and there’s not a terror dog to be found after 4 hours of waiting….Frustrated…

If you tap on Ghostbuster Peter and forward dog zapping task…wait. It will pop out the jar of bones, then give you a pop up box with the option to do it again for 10 clams. So the jars will cost about that each. You might not get one every single time, but so far it seems it gave them out every 10 clams.

This is not actually buying the bones but rather just speeding up the time it takes to complete the fighting of the terror dogs. Once you run out of terror dogs you are still stuck (especially if your terror dogs are not re-spawning correctly). I was looking for some way to directly purchase the bones to complete the task but I’ve already lost Diane so I’m loosing interest.

You can build the stuff for Diane before you dig her up and it counts. So build the ball and zombies and you unlock her instantly once dug up.

I cant find what post my original comment was in. I went off about the 5 day limit on Diane and how I already dug her up and how the pink Brian event already irritated me. Allisa thought I had bought her with clams but I didnt. Anywho I unlocked her with about 12 hours to spare :). I did how ever spend clams about 30 to get gb Peter cause the silly tarrot cards stopped dropping. and if it wasnt for slimer droping a few bones It would have been a lot closer of a call. I also had to check the game an ungoldly amount of Times to restart peter zapping. Thanks for the tips addicts, I guess I have learned my lesson on just trying to enjoy a new event without checking the cheat sheets first. Last lil gripe though, once I put forth all the effort to unlock her the the first task is 14 hrs and she disappears into a building, thanks alot tinyco :#

I’ve had some similar problems. When I started (I’m level 36, close to unlocking Stewie), I played exclusively on my tablet on wifi. At the tail end of Comic Con, I put it on my phone so I could start some tasks when I’m out and about. Both devices are android 4.4, but I use the data plan on the phone and not wifi. Anyway, the game is a LOT more stable on my phone. I suspect that any little hiccup in wifi causes problems. Regarding TinyCo, I’ve sent in 3 tickets, with one being a major glitch that kept me off the game for 2.5 days when I was doing the Fabulous 4 quests. It takes them a couple days, but they’ll get back to you and address your problem. I got really screwed with the glitch on the Globulous Bike and they gave me more time to get it, which was more than enough. The game is new and bugs are expected, but they’ve always responded and solved issues within about 3-4 days.

No. She is hear the duration of the event. Just wait til you are ready to dig her up to do it. 🙂

Hi when I was playing the game it said that Dianne was dug up and that the timer had been set for 5 days I didnt have enough money for Dianne at the time so I didnt heed it also I didnt have GhostBuster Peter
I am really annoyed at this as I have 3 days left to get her 😦

Everyone look on facespace in tqfs. They made categories for ghostbuster and other Halloween costumes under the costumes, but there’s a new category for characters titled “tortured souls”. This includes Diane Simmons (of course) and Mr Weed and Francis Griffin. Can’t wait to get them!

PLEASE HELP!!! To get the electricity ball I need 200 spirit vials and 3 banshee tears (why not the 10 terror dog bones??) but they aren’t unlocked yet. I’ve been waiting patiently but still nothing. Any suggestions???

You need the banshee tears for the ocotmom not the Ball. The ball requires 10 Terror Dog Bones. Tap on the ball and then see what it says below it…

Surprisingly , you can. I was pissed too because I did not know that you needed Ghostbuster Peter to unlock her and I dug up her grave early. I had to rush to get the Ghostbuster outfit that left me with about 72 hours to get her. I had all the Spirit Vials I needed, but only about 3 Terror Dog bones. Peter’s drop rate for Terror Dog bones when busting them has been 100%, despite it being rare. As long as you have SOME bones, you should be able to make it in time. If you need 30, then 48 hours would not be enough.

Another option to consider. Yes you have to collect 30 terror bones to create the objects.. and the time crunch seems tough since you need 60 hours.. but you CAN have Peter finish his actions early for the price of clams. It goes down in price too as the time 10 clams to skip the full two hours, 5 clams after 1 hour is finished, etc. So if you are diligent (and are willing to sacrifice some clams) you can turn 60 hours (or 30 total actions) into 30 hours or less depending on what you are willing to spend. Given the permanence of losing Diane “forever”, this might be something worth expending some clams on. Even if it’s just a few to shave some time off the clock.
